Sample Exploratory Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Sample Exploratory Essay" can present both challenges and
opportunities for the writer. The difficulty lies in the nature of exploratory essays themselves, as
they require a unique approach compared to more traditional essay formats. The task involves
delving into a subject without a predetermined thesis, encouraging the exploration of various
perspectives and ideas.
One of the initial hurdles is defining the scope and boundaries of the essay. Without a clear
thesis statement to guide the writing, the author must carefully select and organize information
to maintain a coherent and logical flow. This lack of a predefined argument can make it
challenging to strike the right balance between providing sufficient background information and
avoiding information overload.
Moreover, the writer must navigate the intricacies of presenting diverse viewpoints while
avoiding bias. Striking a neutral tone is essential in an exploratory essay, as the goal is to allow
readers to form their own opinions based on the presented information. This requires thorough
research and a nuanced understanding of the topic, which can be time-consuming.
On the positive side, the exploratory essay format offers a chance for creative expression and
intellectual exploration. It allows the writer to engage with the topic on a deeper level, fostering
critical thinking and analytical skills. However, this freedom can also be a double-edged sword,
as it necessitates a higher level of responsibility in handling information objectively.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Sample Exploratory Essay" demands a delicate
balance between openness to diverse perspectives and the need for structure and clarity. It
requires a skilled writer who can navigate the challenges of presenting information without a
predetermined thesis. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or other writing tasks,

Fossil Fuels Disadvantages
Fossil fuels have been the world s main energy source since they were discovered,
however, they carry harmful side effects such as pollution and climate change. Forms
of alternative energy such as solar, wind, and nuclear power are possible
replacements of fossil fuel energy. Controversy surrounds both fossil fuels and
alternative forms of energy due to each energy form having consequences. Some
believe that alternative energybrings just as many disadvantages as fossil fuels,
while others argue that alternative energy is better for the environment and its
population. While people have different beliefs pertaining to alternative energy,
both forms of energy have been used throughout history. Fossil fuels are created
from the remains of decayed animals and plants and then burned to make energy.
Coal, oil, and natural gas are examples of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels grew in
popularity during the Industrial Revolution when the first coal deposits were found
(Mason). This discovery prompted a new age of energy and eventually led to the use
of oil, another fossil fuel. Fossil fuels continued to grow and eventually became the
world s main energy source, but burning fossil fuels gives off carbon dioxide, a
greenhouse gas that causes climate change. The climate change created by fossil
fuels produced the controversy that surrounds this form of energy. Another
popular energy source is alternative energy. Alternative energy is any form of
energy besides fossil fuels, such as solar, wind, and nuclear power. Similar to
fossil fuels, ideas of alternative energy began during the Industrial Revolution,
however, these designs were not created until the 1950s (Mason). During the
1950s, the renewable forms of alternative energy were the most popular, due to the
realization that fossil fuel sources would eventually be depleted. Today, research
about alternative energy is still being done as this energy source is also
controversial. Alternative energy is said to be less reliable and even more
dangerous than fossil fuels. Although both alternative energy forms and fossil fuels
are controversial, they remain relevant in today s world because energy is necessary
in people s daily lives. In support of alternative energy is the
How Does Shakespeare Use Dramatic Irony In Twelfth Night
Twelfth Night, a play constructed by William Shakespeare, revolves around a
chaotic misconception of love. Well known for the way he presents love stories,
among other skillful attributes, it is the use of dramatic irony within the play causes
that confusion amongst the characters as to who they should love. To truly
understand the play, there must be an understanding of dramatic irony. This type of
irony consists of knowledge that is prevalent amongst the audience and possibly a
character within the play, meanwhile the rest of the characters are left clueless to
vital information. In this play, the one character who holds the most knowledge is
Viola, who is known as Cesario while secretly dressed as a man. It is after her arrival

starts to cause concern when Olivia sees a change in his normal demeanor.
Shocked by his new found affection she is persuaded to believe that he has gone
mad. Malvolio too believes he has lost his sanity when he is told by the fool who
is dressed as a preist that he is crazy. It could be said that Malvolio only fell for
Olivia because he received a note he thought was from her. However, such feelings
of love cannot just appear, which means these feeling had to exist somewhere deep
down in him. When he thinks of his position as her servant he convinces himself
that the two could actually be together despite how it may look to others. He does
this by comparing Olivia and himself to a relationship where a woman marries
someone in a lower class where he says There is example for t. The lady of the

the end, Malvolio is left alone with no one to love and completely ashamed by how
foolish he was to think Olivia would want
Chinese Views on Death and Dying Burial Techniques,...
Chinese religion and strict cultural beliefs are inseparable from the death rites
performed. Many different names for death are scattered throughout Chinese history,
including an ideogram that depicts a person kneeling in front of their ancestor s
bones 1. In Chinese culture, death rites are intricate and well thought out works on
preparing one for the afterlife and rebirth. Chinese funeral rites have strict guidelines
as to where the rites are to be performed, how the rites are performed (ritualbathing of
the corpse), the dress of the attendees and the dead, the transfer of material goods on
Earth to the dead, acknowledgement of the deceased and the actual burialof the body.
All these sacred rites are performed by specialists (usually... Show more content on

Not much unlike Western culture, different colors hint to a time of mourning. Instead
of wearing black (like in Western cultures), those who are mourning the deceased in
China are seen wearing white clothes, shoes and cloaks that are usually made out of
sackcloth or hemp. Although mourning colors differ in different parts of China, white
is the universal color of mourning for the Chinese. These mourning clothes are
usually ragged, unbleached, unhemmed and white. 5
The corpse must go through a series of cleansings and blessings before it is
allowed to be buried. A ritualized bathing of the corpse is required before it goes on
to the next step in the rites. In south China the water is not gathered by the family
themselves, but rather, bought from a deity of a sacred well. This particular rite is
called mai shui or roughly translated, buying water . There are

gentle dab on the forehead with the sacred water. Along with the cleaning is the
donning of new clothes on the corpse.
The next step in the funerary rites would be the transfer of material goods to the
dead. Things like paper clothes, cardboard houses, furniture and servants and other
things the dead might need in the afterlife would be transferred into the world of the

Positive and Negative Effects of Social Media Essay
Social media is any website that allows social interaction. Social media is growing
rapidly throughout the world. More adults and teenagers are joining sites such as
Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter to interact with friends, family, and strangers. The
introduction of social media has changed the world in many ways. It affects each

adults lives by helping them be more empathetic (Turgeon). Despite the positives,
there are many negatives associated with social media. Using social media can
make a person more vulnerable to predators and cyber bullying. In this age, Cyber
bulling is quite common, can occur to any young person online, and can cause
profound psychosocial outcomes including depression, anxiety, severe isolation,

society in a negative way because it is harming young teenagers minds. Bullies,

Why Is Hamlet Truly Mad
Is Hamlet Truly Mad? One of the largest debates in the literary world is whether
Hamlet was actually mad, or if he feigned it to disconcert Claudius and others close
to him. The question of whether or not is similar to that of whether or not Gertrude
was aware that the cup was poisoned. Personally, I believe that Hamletwas not mad,
but rather delusional; making himself mad to fit his own goals, rather than simply
being such. He had many soliloquys debating whether or not to appear mad to others,
but also showed pieces of madness through his obsession with murder. As a result,
Hamlet was not mad, but he was not of sound mind, either. Not soon after
beingdiagnosed with melancholy, or depression, after his father s death, he tells his
friends that he will pretend to act mad. HAMLET:How strange or odd some er I bear
myself
(As I perchance hereafter shall think meet
To put an antic disposition on) (Act I, Scene 5)
However, even before he first met his father s ghost he was already melancholy,
and depression can often lead to irrational decisions. Sure, he was not fully mad ,
and still had some sanity, but his sane self purposefully tried to throw conscience out
of the window in order to achieve his goal to kill Claudius. In addition, most sane
people would not actually kill a person, much less plot about it as thoroughly as he
had. In the third act, even Claudius doubts that Hamlet is truly mad. Many of his
guardsmen do believe it, but Claudius is unconvinced of how

Culture is what we make of it. The way we live in our country or in our own city

(Henslin, 2013) In every culture there are social norms, or unwritten rules that people
in a culture comply with. To break a social normwould be considered deviant; to defy
the way everyone else does something. (Henslin, 2013) To begin my research I
decided to head to a local hot spot.
I found myself at a local Tim Horton s I observed many people walking in and out
with their coffees as I sat down and got myself situated. Quite a few people were
busy trying to get their coffee and run; although there were a number of people
who chose to sit down and chat with people. I observed the long line of people and
as the line would dwindle down eventually more people would come in from outside
to replace those that left. I noticed on 3 occasions where 2 people would head to the

loud chatter dwindled down to silence. No words were spoken to me but the male

Pibrex Russia was shut down and the sales and marketing department merged with
Pibrex KZ. At Pibrex KZ over half the production workers were laid off and prices
were raised to increased margins, but this only had the effect of eroding sales even
further.
A macroeconomic shock came in the form of the Russian Financial Crisis (RFC).
This preceded the Global Financial Crisis. As a result of the RFC, Pibrex s sales
slipped even further and management was now fully involved in crisis management
with the ultimate goal being survival. Whereas in the past Pibrex had relied on a
decentralized governance structure, on this occasion, Pibrex formed a steering
committee to direct strategy in its Russian operations.
The steering committee reassigned Elena as the new Financial Controller and
asked her to perform a financial audit on all of Pibrex s Russian operations. They
also decided to concentrate on reducing costs and increasing profits wherever
possible. Sales activity was limited to only the largest and most profitable of
customers. Also, the steering committee took various steps to control all finances as
well as reduce all expenditures. The steering committee as Elena to serve as
Managing Director and Financial Controller of all Pibrex s Russian operations

Comparison Between Pre-Raphaelitism And Aestheticism
Pre Raphaelite artists are known for their paintings of overly romanticized women,
many of which depict historically and mythologically powerful women. While these
paintings are aesthetically pleasing, they are not simply meant to be admired for their
beauty. They convey the opinions of the artist and reflect the perspective of the
paintings original intended audience, which would have been predominantly male.
The male perspective is most likely the reason that, despite the powerful reputation of
these women, they are often depicted in ways that are subtly demeaning, belittling,
and objectifying. These methods consist of the use of seemingly insignificant details
such as clothing, facial expression, and body posturing. and are best... Show more

Contrary to Pieri s argument, nearly every aspect of Pre Raphaelite paintings has a
meaning. Details as seemingly insignificant as facial expression, body posturing, and
even clothing could convey a figure s feelings, morality, and position in society. In
Expression over Beauty: Facial Expression, Body Language, and Circumstantiality in
the Paintings of the Pre Raphaelite Brotherhood , Julie F. Codell explains that in Pre
Raphaelite art, a figure s facial expression and body position were reflective of the
studies of anatomy and its relation to psychology and morality that were popular at
the time and of which their Victorian audience would likely have full knowledge and
understanding. She explains that the study of anatomy was partly inspired by the
writings of Sir Charles Bell, whose underlying themes the fugitive nature of emotions
and the relativity of beauty illuminate the psychological interpretations of character
intended by the PRB. She continues to explain that in much Pre Raphaelite art, the
expression of powerful feelings is not merely a means but an end itself; the
emotional impact of their pictures is part of their meaning and not simply an
accidental side effect. Therefore, the feelings the viewer experiences and the
opinions they form, as influenced by the artists use of body language and facial
expression, are the painting s intended meanings. Even the clothing a figure is
depicted wearing implies a meaning, as
Comparing The Landmine And The Rope In Melissa Range
Although the Landmine and the Rope in Melissa Range s poems are both made to
participate in horrifying violence against the innocent, the Landmine reveals its
boastful indifference by twisting imagery of life and hope into a grotesque threat
to haunt the world of peace long into the future, while the Rope reveals its humble
sympathy by longing for a future that redeems violence by affirming life and
beauty. Both of these poems begin with both of them creating violence, but the
difference is that The Rope doesn t enjoy it. The Rope shows that he hates his sole
purpose by saying, Twine wasn t made for this. In The Landmine it feels like he is
boasting about his purpose. As he says, I m in hiding, but you can t smoke me out.

People Should Follow the Code of the West, Talk Less; Say...
The code of the west is things to live by, they were never actually written down, but
they were something that everyone in the west seemed to live by. It was a
different time that these people lived in and a lot of the laws that they lived by are
not even considered in today s society. One of the laws that I believe should people
should always follow is talk less, say more. This is something that means a lot to
me and the world that I live, and grew up in. This is a code that does affect you
throughout your whole life and never loses meaning, no matter how young or old
you are. Talk less; say more is the most important and the most meaningful rule in the
codes of the west. This code, talk less; say more, is one that still really... Show more

In the game of basketball this is a big one. When someone falls and you help them
up it says a lot about who you are as a person, yet if they fall and you say something
to them that could be very rude, you are degrading yourself with the words that
you have said. Players like this are known and people know them as the players
that are very unrespectable and rude. The more they say the more they are hated
and the less that people say the more they mean. Respect is something that is
earned and it is not earned through the things that you say, but the things that you
do. If you are trying to earn someone s respect I guarantee you that if you just
talked to them all of the time they would not like for that. You have to prove it
through the things that you do and the ways that you act. This was a big thing
back in the west. If a new guy came to town he did not earn respect through all of
the people he talked to and the stories that he told, because those were just stories.
He had to earn it by what he did. This is where actions really speak louder than
words. Respect is also something that everyone in life is looking for, whether they
know it or not and sometimes they think they have done everything to deserve it,
when really they have not done the most important thing; prove they can follow up
and what they say. You have to be able to back up all of the words that come out of
your mouth with actions because there is just talking about doing something and then

during the cold war. Domino theory is the thought that if one country fell to

for the cold war was communism, which is a political system where the govt.

Santa Bibli The Bible Through Hispanic Eyes, Justo L....
In Santa Biblia: The Bible Through Hispanic Eyes, Justo L. GonzГЎlez invites the
reader to read the Bible in fresh ways, and gain insight from the perspective of those
who claim their Hispanic identity as part of their hermeneutical baggage, and who
also read the Scripture within the context of a commitment to the Latino struggle to
become all that God wants us and all of the world to be in other words, the struggle
for salvation/liberation. (GonzГЎlez 1996, 28 29) Published hot on the heels of the
quincentennial of Columbus voyage to the new world, and abreast of discussions
taking place in the larger Hispanic community, GonzГЎlez s book is both timely and
well researched.
His central aim is not just to provide one example of a legitimate, contextual
(Hispanic) perspective. He also is eager to show that embracing different theological
perspectives from around the globe is a necessary and unavoidable aspect of the
church s catholicity. GonzГЎlez makes his case in the introduction.
The introduction deals with the ideas of authority and perspective, and how they
function properly in the process of Biblical interpretation. A key idea is that
reading is a dialogue between the text and the reader. Both sides have a role to play.
If we acknowledge this, then we must also acknowledge that the perspective of the
reader has some significance in how the Bible is interpreted and exercises authority.
This dialogical reading transcends the categories of objective and subjective , and
Ancient Greek And Greek History
In ancient Greek, hundreds of city state called polis was developed throughout the
area. Polis means an independent community of citizens inhabiting a city and the
countryside around it (Hunt, 51). Being in mountainous and island region, many were
isolated from each other, and often hostile to each other. They maintained constant
conflicts between polis throughout ancient Greek history. They never became a
nation. Among many polis, Athens and Spartaare the most famous ancient Greek
polis known to modern history. They were unique in terms of political systems as
well as its culture. Even though they had same cultural background such as same
language or same religions, their political systems were very different. There were
three types of political systems adapted by ancient Greek. Athens had democracy
while Sparta had Oligarchy. Corinth had Tyranny. The comparison between Sparta
and Athens in terms of political system as well as cultural background will be
discussed in this research paper. In ancient Greek, polis has two different meaning.
First, polis means literally a city, an urban settlement, and a social boundary. Second,
polis also has meaning of a state, and a political organization. The polis in ancient
Greek has both meaning, as a city as well as a state and political entity. Each polis has
chosen different political system. Sometimes, they changed their political system
after bad tyrant dies or weak oligarchy not functioning right, but most
Pseudo Myopi The Refractive Anomaly Of The Eye
INTRODUCTION
Myopia is the refractive anomaly of the eye in which close objects appears clearly,
while objects far away appear blurry. With myopia, light comes to focus in front of
the retina instead of on the retina Myopia is the major refractive error having a
worldwide prevalence of 1.5 billion. Children with Myopia feel difficulties in viewing
blackboard in school; they avoid outdoor activities and get isolated from the peer

Retinal detachment.
Myopia occurs if the eyeball is too long or the cornea (the clear front cover of the eye
) is too curved. As a result, the light entering the eye isn t focused correctly, and
distant objects look blurred. Even though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because there is insufficient contrast for an adequate accommodative stimulus, the
eye assumes the intermediate dark focus accommodative position rather than focusing

3. Pseudo myopia
Pseudo myopia is the result of an increase in ocular refractive power due to
overstimulation of the eye s accommodative mechanism or ciliary spasm. The
condition is so named because the patient only appears to have myopia due to an
inappropriate accommodative response.
4. Degenerative Myopia
A high degree of myopia associated with degenerative changes in the posterior
segment of the eye is known as degenerative or pathological myopia. The
degenerative changes can result in abnormal visual function, such as a decrease in
best corrected visual acuity or changes in visual fields. Sequelae such as retinal
detachment and glaucoma are relatively common.
5. Induced Myopia
Induced or acquired myopia is the result of exposure to various pharmaceutical
agents, variation in blood sugar levels, nuclear sclerosis of the crystalline lens, or
other anomalous conditions. This myopia is often temporary and
How Does Shakespeare Show Loyalty In King Lear
Kent s devotion to King Lear causes him to dismiss who he used to be Earl of Kent
along with the power he had. Kent s loyalty gave him the ability to see what was
happening in the kingdom and not be blinded by the devil like actions of other
characters in the play. Shakespeare reinforces what loyalty is, by subliminally
addressing it throughout the play and emphasizing why loyalty should be a feature
we look at a person.
Kent, a servant of King Lear, who believes loyalty is the best policy, demonstrates the
meaning of what being loyal is, by supporting King Lear and helping him see the
truth behind the actions of his two out of three daughters, Goneril and Regan.

moonshine of you: (2.2.37) Kent, now Caius, felt the need to confront Oswald for
his past wrongdoings he committed against King Lear, but heed the purpose of the
confrontation by acting as if he was bothered by Oswald forgetting who he was.
The significant thing to remember is the reason why Kent acted so harshly
towards Oswald. Oswald before this confrontation, disrespected King Lear.
Oswald when he returned from telling Goneril the eldest daughter of Lear that her
father is here, he did not return back with her. Lear then asked Oswald, who he,
King Lear was, as if he was trying to make Oswald recognize the position a King
stands and the position a servant stands. To assert why he came back without
Goneril. Oswald replied with My Lady s father (1.4.20). King Lear, after hearing
this became furious, for Oswald said My Lady s father not my king nor my lord,
which is what Lear is used to hearing, this offended Lear. Lear, even after giving up
his power believes everyone should treat him as if he still has power, as if he was
actually still the king. The thought of him being King still sustain, implying that
when a servant or anyone that works in the kingdom speaks to him, they
Rush Hour Narrative Story
When I was younger, my mother would pick me and my brother up from school.
As we carried our heavy superhero backpacks and sipped Capri Suns, she would
offer us a funny anecdote to help pass the time. I remember one day in particular,
instead of an anecdote, she proposed a challenge. Smiling, my mother told us that
if we could guess which of our siblings were currently home, she would tell us what
movie she bought for us to watch tonight. My brother and I tried our best to guess
the right answer, but to no avail. Nevertheless, being the nice person I knew she
was, my mother told us anyway. Do you know about the movie Rush Hour? My
brother and I looked at each other in excitement. We had looked up the trailer
online, but never thought we d actually see it! The news made us giddy; we
wanted to run home as fast as our tiny legs would take us. When we arrived home,
our mother gave us the DVD. No Chris Tucker. No Jackie Chan. Instead, what she
laid out before us was a DVD titled Rush Hour, a Nigerian film. I turned the box
over and looked at the actors and plot that I had never seen before in my life. Out of
feeble optimism, we popped in the DVD and watched it. Boring. The yearning to be
happy is innate in everyone. People struggle with his desire their entire lives. Some
satiate it, finding enjoyment in family, money, and work, among other things. Others
are fruitless, never finding happinessor even getting a chance to pursue it. Even so,
we most often don t find happiness

Here, one is not placed on any limits regarding the response. An example is when
questioning a person with mental illness. An answer given can lead to another
problem (Ibrahim et al, 2015). From such, much information is collected, and more
precise conclusions can be made. In sensitive questioning, the mental expert can
get adequate answers. Protective factors as part of the risk assessment Over the
ten years, research has been directed to try to determine how drug abuse and
mental illness begin and how they progress. Many factors, add to a person s risk
for drug addiction. On the other hand, protective factors reduce the chance. Risk
factors may vary amongst people. As for children, risk and protective factors can
affect them at different stages of their lives (Ibrahim et al, 2015). At each stage, the
risks can be changed through intervention at various stages of their lives. Some early
childhood risks such as aggressive behavior can be modified and be prevented with
school, family and community interventions that focus on helping the children
develop appropriate and positive behaviors. If not addressed, the negative behaviors
can lead to more risks, such as academic failure and social difficulties, which
endanger the children more, exposing them to further risk of later drug abuse. The
common early risk factor is difficult temperament. This

nanotechnologyis being developed as a smart technology which has the ability to

Nanotechnology is a branch of system which can use for the diagnosis and treatment
of cancer with the use of both nanomaterials and nanotechnology approaches. There
are more useful medical devices, more advance drugs for diseases, more appropriate
materials for construction will be developed in the nanotechnology. Nanotechnology
will also affect medicine and other life sciences. There are tremendous numbers of
research in cancer treatment with nanotechnologically modified drugs increasing day

Nanotechnology can help to differentiate malignant cells from nonmalignant and to
selectively and precisely eradicate the malignant cells. There are two fundamental
processes, such as passive and active targeting which are involved in differentiating
malignant and nonmalignant cells. Active targeting is selectively recognize the
molecular antigens, especially proteins, which are expressed on the surfaces of
cancer cells. This is to localize nanoparticles to malignant cells. Whereas passive
targeting involves enhancement of permeability and retention (EPR) effect in order
to increase the concentration of nanoparticles in the tumor and thus the malignant

Should Juvenile Criminals Be Tried As Adults
The definition of a juvenile is a person of a young age who has committed a crime.
This young age may vary from one through seventeen. Essentially these juveniles are
considered to be children, in which case means they are not fully matured. Children
mess up; they do things they are not supposed to, test limits, and push people to their
max because they are not fully aware of the consequences that lie ahead of them due
to the fact that their maturity level is still relatively low. With that being said,
juveniles should not be tried as adults when being sentenced because these teens have
not fully developed. Throughout all five articles that discuss several cases in juvenile
crimes, there are many different opinions in which they should or
What Is The Theme Of Little Women By Louisa May Alcott
Louisa May Alcott was one of the America s best known writers of young people
fiction. Alcott showed the lives of four sisters and their dreams Louisa May Alcott s
in Little Women showed the difficulties that are communicated with the gender roles
between women and men during the Civil War in America. The civil war was a clear
metaphor for internal conflict of four little women grils. The story was based on the
childhood experiences Alcott shared with her real life sisters, Anna, May and

In my opinion, I agree with the quote because she makes Jo married at the end
because the society at that time refused the working women and Jo gave up her
dreams. She defense also the individual rights in the case of Laurie did not talk a lot
in the novel but talks a lot about four little women. His grandfather force him to work

At the end of the essay talks about four little women and their dreams. Secondly, the

Patient Obligations
Position Paper A tiny measure of patients deny care from the earliest starting point,
having been conveyed to the healing center without wanting to by law
implementation faculty or prehospital care suppliers (West Publishing Company ,
2008). Despite the conditions under which the patient arrives, a choice to leave the
crisis office against therapeutic counsel places work force in an unbalanced bind,
constraining attendants and doctors to pick one of two choices which incorporate
permitting the patient to leave, or they can control him and compel him to
acknowledge treatment. Like most choices made in the crisis situation region, this
one must be made in a flash. Picking impulsively can have significant lawful
ramifications. A doctor or attendant who permits a patient to leave rashly welcomes a
case of medicinal misbehavior. Then again, crisis office faculty who power
undesirable treatment on a hesitant patient open themselves to cases of strike, battery,
and even wrongful detainment. Another option mirrors a business which can be held
at risk for the on obligation activities of its representatives, the healing center might
be named as a litigant too. Doctors and medical attendants can t constrain treatment
on a patient just on the grounds that they trust the patient will profit by such care.

Refusals of consideration, similar to agrees to treatment, must be educated. Crisis
office staff have a commitment to depict for a leaving patient the nature and
seriousness of the patient s condition; the nature, liabilities, and advantages of the

patient shows a craving to leave without treatment, work force will be enticed to
depict the potential results in the broadest conceivable terms. This might be the
simplest methodology, yet it isn t as a matter of course the
Stolen Generation Essay
The Stolen Generation was a group of tragic people in Australian history, they are the
victims of the White Australian policy pursued by the Australian government at the
beginning of the 20th century. The apology to the Stolen Generations was the first
conducted in Parliament by Kevin Rudd and it established a path to resolving the
historical injustice which was fully controlled by the government (Reilly, 2009). This
paper will reflect on my experience of the lecture from Ivan Clarke on the Stolen
Generation and identify strategies I could use when teaching the Stolen Generationsto
secondary students.

Similarities Between Ancient Greek And American Society
American Society and Ancient Greece
Ancient Greece believed that art is a depiction of the one s culture and individualism.
Ancient Greece helped shaped the world of today. We have many similarities with
ancient Greece today. Ancient Greece had three different column styles the Doric,
Ionic and Corinthian as a substitute wood for building temples. These three different
styles are still been used today in various mode like the Greeks.
Thanks to the Doric style a plain, simple column with a circle on the top of the
column, we can enjoy the benefits of sitting on our porches with roofs attached
protecting us from the elements. The porch on the Governor s mansion in Atlanta,
GA is another example of the Doric style. Ancient Greecebuilt temples ... Show more

The Corinthian style is used for contemporary furniture designs like my mother s
cherry wood high four posts bed with flowers etch in the posters. Many planners use
the Corinthian style columns for elaborate decorations particular in weddings today.
Another similarity, we share with ancient Greece is the love of sports rivalry
especially the Olympic Games. In 776 B.C., the first Olympic Games begin as an
achievement in art, ethical conduct and interaction of the mind in ancient Greece.
Today athletes from all over the world take part in the Olympic Games. In spite of
the many new events such as bicycling, skating, gymnastics, swimming, soccer and
basketball, many of the earlier (ancient Greece) events such as footraces, jumping,
discus and javelin throwing, boxing, and wrestling are still a part of the today games.
As we mourned the recent loss of Muhammad Ali, boxing champion of the world to
many, continued the ancient Greece s tradition of carrying the torch to light the
cauldron during the 1996 Summer Olympics games in Atlanta, GA. The torch
remains lit until the conclusion of competition today as it did in ancient
The Last Battle Of The Civil War
Leadership through Redemption
In Nicholas Lemann s story Redemption: The Last Battle of the Civil War, it shows a
theme of leadership through the main character of the story, and Adelbert Ames
effectively demonstrates the required traits of a main character and a leader. The
book focused on a lot of events that happened in the Reconstruction era. It tells about
both the political characteristics and the social characteristics that are unraveled
throughout the reformation of the South and giving the African Americans the right
to vote along with other political freedoms. Throughout the story, Adelbert Ames
successfully demonstrates the qualities of a great protagonist and a leader. Adelbert
Ames shows the theme of leadership and how his change in his ambition and
morality would make him a better leader in his life.
In the story, Adelbert Ames shows his great leadership and guidance. He was one of
the great leaders after the time of the Civil War. He was also a key contributor in the
American Civil War. He was quoted as a beau ideal of a division leader (32). His
great leadership was awarded with the Medal of Honor, which is one of the highest
medals in the army. He was known as a man who would do anything for his people
and he would go the distance to help them out. As told by the story, he was a leader
that also treated his soldiers right. This is seen in this quote: Although he never
permitted anything to stand in his way, and never asked men to go where he would

Nazi Propaganda Essay
Nazi Propaganda
Propaganda attempts to force a doctrine on the whole people... Propaganda works
on the general public from the standpoint of an idea and makes them ripe for the
victory of this idea. These words of Adolf Hitler are taken from his book Mien
Kampf (My Struggle) published in 1926. Propaganda was an elaborate and essential
tool used extensively by Hitler and the Nazi s during their terrorizing reign of
Germany and throughout Europe. Not only was it used to promote and endorse the
party and its leader s extreme anti Semitic values, but also to mask the horrifying
truths of what was to become known as the Holocaust.

Karl points out that the lips are another distinguishing feature; they are usually puffed

recognize the Jew as a swindler and criminal.
Another fundamental example of radical anti Semitic press was the newspaper

Semitic caricatures, accused Jews of plotting secret plans against the German
government, promoted the idea of Jewish seduction and even called for the
annihilation of all Jews in 1941. The passionate language by the writers and crafty
manipulation of the readers is evident in a 1935 article written by Ernst
Treaty Of Versailles Fairness
The Fairness of the Treaty of Versailles
When assessing the fairness of the Treaty of Versailles it is necessary to consider
the impact of the treaty, not only on Germany, but also on all the major powers
involved in both the treaty and the First World War. In order to determine the
fairness of the treaty it is important to, in Germanys case especially, consider the
Treaty of Versaillesin economic, military, territorial and colonial terms. There are
also other countries which the Treaty of Versailles had an impact on, and the affect
that the treaty has had on them can also be assessed. However, in order to assess the

This is further shown by the fact that by 1925, Germany s production of steel was
twice that of Britain. Germany was also affected by the military constraints
applied by the treaty. Germany was forced to abolish conscription, and reduce both
its army and navy to100, 000 and 24 ships respectively. It was also forced to
demilitarise the Rhineland. This was mainly a result of French determination to
secure some form of security against any future German invasion. Germany lost
13% of its territory and 12% of its total population, which consisted of about 25000
square miles and 7million people respectively. However, although territorial looses
appear significant, they pale in comparison to Austria, and Germany was not
invaded or divided as it was after the Second World War. Germany also lost its
colonies to League of Nation mandates, which were to rule them until they were fit
for independence. But Germany s colonies had little or no economic or strategic
value and were mainly a symbol of power, status and prestige. However, although the
treatment of Germany can be viewed as somewhat lenient, they were a contrast of
The Fourteen Points , as Germany were excluded from all peace negotiations, was the
only country to disarm and its empire, especially Austria, was denied the right to self
determination, hence a violation

The Nature And Existence Of God
The existence of suffering in the world provides a case against the existence of God
as the problem of evil. It seems that the God of classical theism is incompatible with
the reality of the world around us; could such an all loving, all powerful and all
knowing God exists in conjunction with instances of immense and seemingly
pointless suffering? It does seem unlikely that such a Godexists alongside evil.
However, it is questionable whether this is a proof that God does not exist.
The problem of evil which forms as; is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he
both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? (Lactanitus). Epicurus here challenges the properties we
associate with God, suggesting that those properties do not add up to reality and be
consistent with perceived belief about the nature and existence of God. We can form
the problem into an inconsistent triad (J.L Mackie, 212) which runs that God is
omnipotent, omnibenevolent and evil exists. He postulates that no valid solution of
the problem which does not modify at least one of the constituent propositions ,
positing that is would be impossible to remove one of the characteristics of God
without moving the image of God so far away from our traditional understanding that
it becomes unrecognisable and the problem still remains.

Slip And Fall Lawyer Essay
When a person is injured in an accident that involves a slip and fall, they need legal
representation. Many don t know how to find a slip and fall attorney, however, or
what to look for when doing so. Following are some tips to help in this process and
things to keep in mind when the time comes to make a selection. Why An Attorney
Is Essential Proving fault in a slip and fall case can be difficult. Often, it isn t
obvious who is to blame, and multiple parties may ultimately be held accountable.
An attorney understands how to establish liability and prove damages and can also
easily identify who may be responsible in a case of this type. The average person
lacks these skills, thus legal help is needed. Proving Liability The first step is the
process is to show that the defendant or defendants were negligent and this led to the
injuries. Falls tend to happen quickly, leaving the injured party unaware of exactly
what happened. The lawyer works to determine this, using information from
witnesses, any evidence collected on the injured party s clothing or other items in the
area and more. He or she also determines what led to the accident, such as defective
equipment, poor building construction and other factors. Once the accident scene has

For example. lost income must be properly documented and all other expenses
directly related to the accident tracked. It isn t always easy to obtain medical
records, simply as medical professionals are overwhelmed with other tasks. In

When selecting a slip and fall lawyer, individuals need to ensure they find one who
works with doctors to obtain this information by having the doctor or doctors write
reports stating the relationship between the two. The attorney will also use other
tactics to ensure all damages are compensated, including those of the emotional and
psychological

Cultural Risks Four Seasons ensures a smooth opening for each new hotel by
assigning a special task force of experienced Four Seasons managers to help establish
norms and train staff. The task force that was put into action for Paris had to stay
twice as long as for any other opening (seven to eight weeks rather than three).
Responsible for this were the strong differences between the North American and the
French culture. For example, French managers would not take the same
accountability for decisions and policies as North American managers, they valued
human relationships higher than punctuality and performance evaluations turned out
to be somewhat difficult, since addressing problems directly was not appreciated in
the French culture. As a recognition and evaluation program Four Seasons launched
employee of the month and employee of the year programs, as well as an annual
evaluation, both uncommon in France, but crucial management tools with Four

The Purpose of the Federal Reserve System Essay
Over the past few years we have realized the impact that the Federal Government has
on our economy, yet we never knew enough about the subject to understand why.
While taking this Economics course it has brought so many things to our attention,
especially since we see inflation, gas prices, unemployment and interest rates on the
rise. It has given us a better understanding of the effect of the Government on the
economy, the stock market, the interest rates, etc. Since the Federal Government has
such a control over our Economy, we decided to tackle the subject of the Federal
Reserve Systemand try to get a better understanding of the history, the structure, and
the monetary policyof the power that it holds.

One form of direct control can be exercised by adjusting the legal reserve ratio (the
proportion of its deposits that a member bank must hold in its reserve account),
and as a result, increasing or decreasing the amount of new loans that the
commercial banks can make. Because loans give rise to new deposits, the possible
money supply is, in this way, expanded or reduced. This policy tool has not been
used too much in recent years. The money supply may also be influenced through
manipulation of the discount rate, which is the rate if interest charged by the
Federal Reserve banks on short term secured loans to member banks. Since these
loans are typically sought to maintain reserves at their required level, an increase in
the cost of such loans has an effect similar to that of increasing the reserve
requirement. The classic method of indirect control is through open market
operations, first widely used in the 1920s and now used daily to make some
adjustment to the market. Federal Reserve bank sales or purchases of securities on
the open market tend to reduce or increase the size of commercial bank reserves.
When the Federal Reserve sells securities, the purchasers pay for them with checks
drawn on their deposits, thereby reducing the reserves of the banks on which the
checks are drawn. The three instruments of control explained above have been
conceded to be more effective in preventing inflation in times of high economic
activity than in bringing about revival from a
Essay On Foreign Direct Investment
Conceptual Framework and profile of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Economic
Growth in India
Foreign Direct Investment Foreign Direct Investment is the investment of a country
domestic assets into foreign structures, equipment and organizations, but does not
include investment into stock markets. Foreign direct investment reflects the objective
of obtaining a lasting interest by a resident entity in one economy (direct investor) in
an entity resident in an economy other than that of the investor (direct investment
enterprise). The lasting interest implies the existence of a long term relationship
between the direct investor and the enterprise and a significant degree of influence on
the management of the enterprise. Direct investment involves both the initial
transaction between the two entities and all subsequent capital transactions between
them and among affiliated enterprises, both incorporated and unincorporated.
Foreign Direct Investment is investment involving a long term relationship and
lasting interest in and control by a resident entity in one economy in an enterprise
resident in another economy. In FDI, the investor exerts significant influence on the
management of the enterprise resident in the other economy.
a.Foreign Affiliate or Direct Investment Enterprise is an incorporated or
unincorporated enterprise in which a foreign direct investor, resident in another
economy, owns a stake that permits a lasting interest in the management of that

Solution And The Effects Of Plastic Pollution
The effect of plastic pollution and why it needs to be stopped In a society that
wants everything convenient and ready to use, plastic found the perfect market
for its thousands of uses. Food, toys, medical equipment, and even clothing come
either from plastic or at least wrapped or pre portioned in plastic. While plastic
makes the modern world so much cheaper and easier, it also comes with an
environmental cost. With the endless amount of products made from or housed in
plastic comes an endless amount of discarded wrappers, bags, straws, bottles, toys
and even car parts. Some people wonder where all the plastic bottles and trash go
that people carelessly drop on the daily, or think about about how recycling works,
and if it even does work. For years the human race has been treating the
environment like a landfill itself, and its about time there was some awareness
raised. Plastic pollution is a major problem in today s society. Our first Earth day
was celebrated 47 years ago while the nation was very poisoned. Places like Los
Angeles were covered in thick smog. There were even rivers on fire in Cleveland
due to massive pollution (Lytle). Ever since WWII the production of industrial
chemicals has risen very rapidly. The USA generates and imports over 42 billion
pounds of chemicals per day! These aren t just chemicals from a scientist s lab,
they are hidden in everyday items from baby bottles to big screen tv s (Lytle). The
Toxic Substances act (TCSA) of 34 years has been a failure. The government is
chosen to decide which chemicals are safe and which are hazardous, and the only
way they test if it s safe is inspecting the data given to them by the factories. These
industries can lie and hide major details when providing reports to the government

Che Magazine
Most male magazines contain articles about alcoholic drinks, flashy sport cars,
hunting and fishing, new technology, economic adventures, travel, and last but far
from the least topic of women and dating. Mostly male magazines will include jokes
and cartoons about women and sexual matters. The luring factor of these male
magazines is not the jokes, or other information but it is the photographs of beautiful
young women wearing little to no clothing. When the rubber tends to hit the road
nothing promotes male magazines better than sex. The marketers for the male
magazineChe have realized that and use it in full effect with the advertisement they
created in order to draw in the male consumer. The Che advertisement uses text,
sexuality, and fantasy to lure in the male consumer, Che magazine uses text within

In the advertisement there is a train station that the model is walking towards. The
train station represents the common fantasy that movies will portray. The woman
approaches the train station and the viewer of the advertisement is also present at
the train station. The model and viewer will then meet at the station, ride the train
together and when it is time for the stop to come up they will realize that they both
are departing at the same stop. The scenario seems as if it represents inevitable
faith but it is only a fantasy that the creators of the Che Men s Magazine want the
consumer to fall into. The train can be considered as the concluding point of the
advertisement. The train is where everything ends so the creators of the Che Men s
Magazine uses the train as a final sales pitch. The creators are saying don t miss out
on this opportunity to create a better world for you by missing the train. In laymen s

How Did Aaron Copland Influence The Music World
In October 1958, Aaron Copland made his television debut on the BBC program
Monitor, marking the start of a successful new sideline for a composer whose career
was already well established. Alongside ever more frequent conducting appointments,
Copland s appearances in television documentaries and interviews provided a new
outlet for his talents, particularly as his compositional inspiration began to wane.
With his distinctive facial profile, affable and straightforwardly articulate manner,
and high standing in the musicworld, Copland must have seemed to television s early
producers a guaranteed audience winner. His natural ability in front of the camera
was evident from the outset, and he brought to the burgeoning medium decades of
experience in lecturing, teaching, and speech making. Copland s decision to get
involved in television was surely influenced by the escalating success in the industry
of his friend and disciple Leonard Bernstein. Copland must have realized, like
Bernstein, the potential of television to promote American music and to increase
public understanding of serious music in general.... Show more content on

The Technology Of The Home Appliance Market
The ThermoWave is the newest advancement in the home appliance market, a device
with the capabilities to both heat food and beverages as well as cool them.
Comparable in design to a common countertop microwave, the ThermoWave has
dimensions of 18 x30 x20 for our household version. The ThermoWave comes in a
stainless steel finish and is operated through a traditional touch control numerical pad.
Controls on the device allow for heating, cooling, defrosting, thawing, as well as
options for specific items such as poultry, beef, and popcorn. Our company has
chosen to market this appliance in department stores, discount retailers, and online.
The ThermoWave is priced at $159.99, which we feel is a fair market price for the
devices capabilities and production costs. Environmental forces that affect our
product and company include: competitive, technological, legal/regulatory, economic,
and sociocultural. The environmental forces are important because they are the
influences behind the market and consumer buying. Lower unemployment and
inflation coupled with the current state of recovery that our country is in are all
positive forces for our company, while lower spending on appliances is a concern for
us. Our competition includes companies such as General Electric, Whirlpool, and
Samsung, all titans of the appliance industry. Though currently the ThermoWave is
the only product of its kind, we are expecting companies to emulate our product in the
near future. Social media and the
The Incredibles Conflict Theory Essay
CST 477 May 2, 2013 Final Paper The Incredibles (2004) A movie by Pixar, The
Incredibles was very well thought of by audiences. In 2005, it won an Academy
Award for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year beating the movies Shark Tale
and Shrek 2 . The film starts off as an interview with three superheroes known as
Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone talking about why they have secret identity.
They all love their role as superheroes and enjoy helping people. While the start
doesn t necessarily show conflict it does provide the audience of some tension by
having Elastigirl mention that she fights crime because it s typically a male only
thing, and she doesn t believe that men should be the only ones able to save the...

What Is The Role Of Women In The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial revolution. Arguably one of the greatest moments in English and
global history. A time that had industrialized the whole of England, revolutionized
science, government, literature, machinery, and even art. However, despite these
evolutionary and forever game changing events, the Industrial Revolution had a dark
side. In order for the industrialization of England to be stable and maintained, human
hands were required in factories, mills, and mines. From dawn till dusk, men,
women, and children engaged in dangerous and hard labour and were paid far
below what they deserved for doing so. They were mistreated in a various ways that
would cause any civilized human in todays modern age to cringe in astonishment and
disbelief. In fact, many historians and philosophers have come... Show more content

Written by Dickens in 1815, Hard Times attempts to convince readers by illustrating
the fact that life during the Industrial Revolution was anything but pleasant for human
beings. Centred around Mr. Gradgrind and his moderately sized family, Dickens
succeeds at giving the reader a up close and personal view of what it meant to be a
father, mother, man, woman, and child during the industrial revolution. Dickens also
provides the reader with three central themes: the mechanization of human beings, the
conflict of fact versus fantasy, and the significance of the female figure. Dickens set
out with a goal in writing this novel to expose the truth on how grim the Industrial
Revolution really was for the human race. I therefore think that, through examining
various examples sprawled throughout the text in connection to the three themes,
there should definitely be enough evidence to conclude that Dickens interpretations
of the Industrial Revolution were believably similar and, in a sense, true to what
people were faced with during the 18th
Themes Of Religion In The Bondock Saints
The Crime of Justice
Never shall innocent blood be shed, yet the blood of the wicked shall flow like a
river. Nourished by their strong faith, Connor and Murphy MacManus used this as
their mantra to overcome Boston s evil mafia. Justice as the reward for the less
fortunate, the Macmanus brothers ended the corrupt society. The Boondock Saintsis a
movie about religion, family, and vigilante justice. Connor and Murphy MacManus
are fraternal twins who were driven by their Irish Catholic Faith to provide justice,
and kill Boston s corrupt mafia leaders. Growing up without their father the boys
never forgot the values and traditions their family had taught them. Rocco a
previously known low level mafia member, realised his wrong ways and joined the
MacManus brothers. The relationship between the MacManus brothers and Rocco
had grow so much, that Rocco was part of their small family. Their actions were so
unavoidable that it persuaded Agent Smacker, an FBI investigator, to help them
towards the climax of the movie. At the end of the movie Connor and Murphy are
reunited with their father who also worked to re establish justice in the community.
The first prominent theme in the movie was religion. It was represented in the scene
where Connor and Murphy were in the air ducts of the hotel, and started to look for
the room where the mafia members were meeting. Once they found the room they
lowered themselves via rope ceiling and began shooting all the members. After all the

Americans are not unfamiliar with the concept of a budget, in fact, most follow a
budget on an everyday basis, however, the topic of a public budget can be
overwhelming to many them. Although many Americans might have a small
concept of how the federal budget works, very few are familiar with their local
budget process, and even less familiar to their adopted annual city budget. Every
local budget is as unique as the cities who developed them. The following paper will

Reflection Of Art
Art is all around the world and everywhere we go and has been since the beginning
of time. Most of the early artworks was visual arts, such as paintings, sculptures,
printmaking and many other things. The purpose of art is the creative way to
express our emotions to empower or inspire people, or it could bring out different
emotions within ourselves, depending on how you look at it. Many of the art
pieces have a story to tell or it can express the state of mind and feeling of the artist
when the art was produced. Art is here today and will be tomorrow as well because
art is now a part of our society. For my three pieces of artworks to write about, I
chose an artist that has many art pieces in many galleries. His style is absolutely
creative and different. Nothing like I ve ever since before. The first painting I
observed is by an artist who has been a street artist since 1985, Gary John. He grew
up in Seattle but moved to Venice, California in 2003 and began selling his art
pieces on the boardwalk. One art piece of his that I found interesting is 31st street
in 3 D , 2015. The 41 x 29 inch art is drawn on a paper of what looks like an
architectural plan. John drew a big 3 D, old school television with an antenna right
in the center of it with black paint. On the left side of it, he drew with red paint,
repetition of circles and lines with an arrow on the top. With the same red paint, he
drew a simplified outline of a house. Rectangle shaped house with a triangle roof top.
The Wasteland, by T.S. Eliot
In the twentieth century, T.S. Eliot transformed the traditional poetry form into a
more modern style. Eliot was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 26, 1888. At
the age of 25, Eliot moved to England where he began his career as a poet. Eliot
greatly attracted the modernist movement, which was poetrywritten in the reaction of
Victorian poetry. His first poem, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, was known as
one of the most famous pieces of the Modernist movement. In his poetry, Eliot
combines themes such as aridity, sexuality, and living death. He uses techniques such
as narration, historical, literary, and mythic allusions. Using themes and techniques
from his earlier work, Eliot publishes The Wasteland.
The Wasteland is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second section is titled, A Game of Chess in which Eliot explores the social
world of the Wasteland. The wasteland is a place where its boring with empty barren
land and Eliot plans on regenerating the land. This section begins with a scene from
Thomas Middleton s Elizabethan play, Women Beware Women. This scene
transitions the poem from death to sex and represents the most modernism
throughout the poem. This section also emphasizes on women drinking alcohol,
abortions, and society. Before this time period, these topics were unspoken of.
The third section of the poem is called The Fire Sermon which refers to much about
religion. Referring to Buddha s teachings, this section ties in the image of
lifelessness. This can be understood as youthful passion does not exist anymore. Also,
in this passage Eliot includes how relationships are always failing throughout
lifetime. This flashes back to London when Eliot s wife Vivienne divorces him. The
Fire Sermon refers to the Buddhist sermon that gives the section its title, and
encourages men to douse the fires of lust.
The fourth and fifth section are closely related because they tie in the rest of the
poem together. The fourth section is named Death by water which basically connects
The Burial of Death and ties the whole poem together into one unified poem. The
fifth section What Thunder Said is the final section which brings religion, death, and

Sample Exploratory Essay

  • 1. Sample Exploratory Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of "Sample Exploratory Essay" can present both challenges and opportunities for the writer. The difficulty lies in the nature of exploratory essays themselves, as they require a unique approach compared to more traditional essay formats. The task involves delving into a subject without a predetermined thesis, encouraging the exploration of various perspectives and ideas. One of the initial hurdles is defining the scope and boundaries of the essay. Without a clear thesis statement to guide the writing, the author must carefully select and organize information to maintain a coherent and logical flow. This lack of a predefined argument can make it challenging to strike the right balance between providing sufficient background information and avoiding information overload. Moreover, the writer must navigate the intricacies of presenting diverse viewpoints while avoiding bias. Striking a neutral tone is essential in an exploratory essay, as the goal is to allow readers to form their own opinions based on the presented information. This requires thorough research and a nuanced understanding of the topic, which can be time-consuming. On the positive side, the exploratory essay format offers a chance for creative expression and intellectual exploration. It allows the writer to engage with the topic on a deeper level, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills. However, this freedom can also be a double-edged sword, as it necessitates a higher level of responsibility in handling information objectively. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Sample Exploratory Essay" demands a delicate balance between openness to diverse perspectives and the need for structure and clarity. It requires a skilled writer who can navigate the challenges of presenting information without a predetermined thesis. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or other writing tasks, various resources are available, and HelpWriting.net can be explored for professional support. • 2. Fossil Fuels Disadvantages Fossil fuels have been the world s main energy source since they were discovered, however, they carry harmful side effects such as pollution and climate change. Forms of alternative energy such as solar, wind, and nuclear power are possible replacements of fossil fuel energy. Controversy surrounds both fossil fuels and alternative forms of energy due to each energy form having consequences. Some believe that alternative energybrings just as many disadvantages as fossil fuels, while others argue that alternative energy is better for the environment and its population. While people have different beliefs pertaining to alternative energy, both forms of energy have been used throughout history. Fossil fuels are created from the remains of decayed animals and plants and then burned to make energy. Coal, oil, and natural gas are examples of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels grew in popularity during the Industrial Revolution when the first coal deposits were found (Mason). This discovery prompted a new age of energy and eventually led to the use of oil, another fossil fuel. Fossil fuels continued to grow and eventually became the world s main energy source, but burning fossil fuels gives off carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that causes climate change. The climate change created by fossil fuels produced the controversy that surrounds this form of energy. Another popular energy source is alternative energy. Alternative energy is any form of energy besides fossil fuels, such as solar, wind, and nuclear power. Similar to fossil fuels, ideas of alternative energy began during the Industrial Revolution, however, these designs were not created until the 1950s (Mason). During the 1950s, the renewable forms of alternative energy were the most popular, due to the realization that fossil fuel sources would eventually be depleted. Today, research about alternative energy is still being done as this energy source is also controversial. Alternative energy is said to be less reliable and even more dangerous than fossil fuels. Although both alternative energy forms and fossil fuels are controversial, they remain relevant in today s world because energy is necessary in people s daily lives. In support of alternative energy is the
  • 3. How Does Shakespeare Use Dramatic Irony In Twelfth Night Twelfth Night, a play constructed by William Shakespeare, revolves around a chaotic misconception of love. Well known for the way he presents love stories, among other skillful attributes, it is the use of dramatic irony within the play causes that confusion amongst the characters as to who they should love. To truly understand the play, there must be an understanding of dramatic irony. This type of irony consists of knowledge that is prevalent amongst the audience and possibly a character within the play, meanwhile the rest of the characters are left clueless to vital information. In this play, the one character who holds the most knowledge is Viola, who is known as Cesario while secretly dressed as a man. It is after her arrival that we... After being tricked by Olivia s housemaid, Malvolio slowly starts to cause concern when Olivia sees a change in his normal demeanor. Shocked by his new found affection she is persuaded to believe that he has gone mad. Malvolio too believes he has lost his sanity when he is told by the fool who is dressed as a preist that he is crazy. It could be said that Malvolio only fell for Olivia because he received a note he thought was from her. However, such feelings of love cannot just appear, which means these feeling had to exist somewhere deep down in him. When he thinks of his position as her servant he convinces himself that the two could actually be together despite how it may look to others. He does this by comparing Olivia and himself to a relationship where a woman marries someone in a lower class where he says There is example for t. The lady of the Strachy/married the yeoman of the wardrobe. (Act 2, Scene 5, line 34 35). Sadly, in the end, Malvolio is left alone with no one to love and completely ashamed by how foolish he was to think Olivia would want
  • 4. Chinese Views on Death and Dying Burial Techniques,... Chinese religion and strict cultural beliefs are inseparable from the death rites performed. Many different names for death are scattered throughout Chinese history, including an ideogram that depicts a person kneeling in front of their ancestor s bones 1. In Chinese culture, death rites are intricate and well thought out works on preparing one for the afterlife and rebirth. Chinese funeral rites have strict guidelines as to where the rites are to be performed, how the rites are performed (ritualbathing of the corpse), the dress of the attendees and the dead, the transfer of material goods on Earth to the dead, acknowledgement of the deceased and the actual burialof the body. All these sacred rites are performed by specialists (usually... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not much unlike Western culture, different colors hint to a time of mourning. Instead of wearing black (like in Western cultures), those who are mourning the deceased in China are seen wearing white clothes, shoes and cloaks that are usually made out of sackcloth or hemp. Although mourning colors differ in different parts of China, white is the universal color of mourning for the Chinese. These mourning clothes are usually ragged, unbleached, unhemmed and white. 5 The corpse must go through a series of cleansings and blessings before it is allowed to be buried. A ritualized bathing of the corpse is required before it goes on to the next step in the rites. In south China the water is not gathered by the family themselves, but rather, bought from a deity of a sacred well. This particular rite is called mai shui or roughly translated, buying water . There are 5. Jones, Constance R.I.P. The Complete Book Of DeathAnd Dying New York: HarperCollins Publishers, 1997 (Pg. 163) several ways the corpse is cleansed from scrubbing with the water bought, or a gentle dab on the forehead with the sacred water. Along with the cleaning is the donning of new clothes on the corpse. The next step in the funerary rites would be the transfer of material goods to the dead. Things like paper clothes, cardboard houses, furniture and servants and other things the dead might need in the afterlife would be transferred into the world of the dead by

  • 6. Why Is Hamlet Truly Mad Is Hamlet Truly Mad? One of the largest debates in the literary world is whether Hamlet was actually mad, or if he feigned it to disconcert Claudius and others close to him. The question of whether or not is similar to that of whether or not Gertrude was aware that the cup was poisoned. Personally, I believe that Hamletwas not mad, but rather delusional; making himself mad to fit his own goals, rather than simply being such. He had many soliloquys debating whether or not to appear mad to others, but also showed pieces of madness through his obsession with murder. As a result, Hamlet was not mad, but he was not of sound mind, either. Not soon after beingdiagnosed with melancholy, or depression, after his father s death, he tells his friends that he will pretend to act mad. HAMLET:How strange or odd some er I bear myself (As I perchance hereafter shall think meet To put an antic disposition on) (Act I, Scene 5) However, even before he first met his father s ghost he was already melancholy, and depression can often lead to irrational decisions. Sure, he was not fully mad , and still had some sanity, but his sane self purposefully tried to throw conscience out of the window in order to achieve his goal to kill Claudius. In addition, most sane people would not actually kill a person, much less plot about it as thoroughly as he had. In the third act, even Claudius doubts that Hamlet is truly mad. Many of his guardsmen do believe it, but Claudius is unconvinced of how

Comparison Between Pre-Raphaelitism And Aestheticism Pre Raphaelite artists are known for their paintings of overly romanticized women, many of which depict historically and mythologically powerful women. While these paintings are aesthetically pleasing, they are not simply meant to be admired for their beauty. They convey the opinions of the artist and reflect the perspective of the paintings original intended audience, which would have been predominantly male. The male perspective is most likely the reason that, despite the powerful reputation of these women, they are often depicted in ways that are subtly demeaning, belittling, and objectifying. Contrary to Pieri s argument, nearly every aspect of Pre Raphaelite paintings has a meaning. Details as seemingly insignificant as facial expression, body posturing, and even clothing could convey a figure s feelings, morality, and position in society. In Expression over Beauty: Facial Expression, Body Language, and Circumstantiality in the Paintings of the Pre Raphaelite Brotherhood , Julie F. Codell explains that in Pre Raphaelite art, a figure s facial expression and body position were reflective of the studies of anatomy and its relation to psychology and morality that were popular at the time and of which their Victorian audience would likely have full knowledge and understanding. She explains that the study of anatomy was partly inspired by the writings of Sir Charles Bell, whose underlying themes the fugitive nature of emotions and the relativity of beauty illuminate the psychological interpretations of character intended by the PRB. She continues to explain that in much Pre Raphaelite art, the expression of powerful feelings is not merely a means but an end itself; the emotional impact of their pictures is part of their meaning and not simply an accidental side effect. Therefore, the feelings the viewer experiences and the opinions they form, as influenced by the artists use of body language and facial expression, are the painting s intended meanings. Even the clothing a figure is depicted wearing implies a meaning, as

Both of these poems begin with both of them creating violence, but the difference is that The Rope doesn t enjoy it. In the game of basketball this is a big one. Players like this are known and people know them as the players that are very unrespectable and rude. The more they say the more they are hated and the less that people say the more they mean. Respect is something that is earned and it is not earned through the things that you say, but the things that you do. If you are trying to earn someone s respect I guarantee you that if you just talked to them all of the time they would not like for that. You have to prove it through the things that you do and the ways that you act. This was a big thing back in the west. If a new guy came to town he did not earn respect through all of the people he talked to and the stories that he told, because those were just stories. He had to earn it by what he did. This is where actions really speak louder than words. Respect is also something that everyone in life is looking for, whether they know it or not and sometimes they think they have done everything to deserve it, when really they have not done the most important thing; prove they can follow up and what they say. GonzГЎlez invites the reader to read the Bible in fresh ways, and gain insight from the perspective of those who claim their Hispanic identity as part of their hermeneutical baggage, and who also read the Scripture within the context of a commitment to the Latino struggle to become all that God wants us and all of the world to be in other words, the struggle for salvation/liberation. (GonzГЎlez 1996, 28 29) Published hot on the heels of the quincentennial of Columbus voyage to the new world, and abreast of discussions taking place in the larger Hispanic community, GonzГЎlez s book is both timely and well researched. His central aim is not just to provide one example of a legitimate, contextual (Hispanic) perspective. He also is eager to show that embracing different theological perspectives from around the globe is a necessary and unavoidable aspect of the church s catholicity. GonzГЎlez makes his case in the introduction. The introduction deals with the ideas of authority and perspective, and how they function properly in the process of Biblical interpretation. A key idea is that reading is a dialogue between the text and the reader. Both sides have a role to play. If we acknowledge this, then we must also acknowledge that the perspective of the reader has some significance in how the Bible is interpreted and exercises authority. This dialogical reading transcends the categories of objective and subjective , and

Kent s loyalty gave him the ability to see what was happening in the kingdom and not be blinded by the devil like actions of other characters in the play. Shakespeare reinforces what loyalty is, by subliminally addressing it throughout the play and emphasizing why loyalty should be a feature we look at a person. Kent, a servant of King Lear, who believes loyalty is the best policy, demonstrates the meaning of what being loyal is, by supporting King Lear and helping him see the truth behind the actions of his two out of three daughters, Goneril and Regan. • 17. Rush Hour Narrative Story When I was younger, my mother would pick me and my brother up from school. As we carried our heavy superhero backpacks and sipped Capri Suns, she would offer us a funny anecdote to help pass the time. I remember one day in particular, instead of an anecdote, she proposed a challenge. Smiling, my mother told us that if we could guess which of our siblings were currently home, she would tell us what movie she bought for us to watch tonight. My brother and I tried our best to guess the right answer, but to no avail. Nevertheless, being the nice person I knew she was, my mother told us anyway. Do you know about the movie Rush Hour? My brother and I looked at each other in excitement. We had looked up the trailer online, but never thought we d actually see it! The news made us giddy; we wanted to run home as fast as our tiny legs would take us. When we arrived home, our mother gave us the DVD. No Chris Tucker. No Jackie Chan. Instead, what she laid out before us was a DVD titled Rush Hour, a Nigerian film. I turned the box over and looked at the actors and plot that I had never seen before in my life. Out of feeble optimism, we popped in the DVD and watched it. Boring. The yearning to be happy is innate in everyone. People struggle with his desire their entire lives. Some satiate it, finding enjoyment in family, money, and work, among other things. Others are fruitless, never finding happinessor even getting a chance to pursue it. At each stage, the risks can be changed through intervention at various stages of their lives. Some early childhood risks such as aggressive behavior can be modified and be prevented with school, family and community interventions that focus on helping the children develop appropriate and positive behaviors. If not addressed, the negative behaviors can lead to more risks, such as academic failure and social difficulties, which endanger the children more, exposing them to further risk of later drug abuse. One form of direct control can be exercised by adjusting the legal reserve ratio (the proportion of its deposits that a member bank must hold in its reserve account), and as a result, increasing or decreasing the amount of new loans that the commercial banks can make. Because loans give rise to new deposits, the possible money supply is, in this way, expanded or reduced. This policy tool has not been used too much in recent years. The money supply may also be influenced through manipulation of the discount rate, which is the rate if interest charged by the Federal Reserve banks on short term secured loans to member banks. Since these loans are typically sought to maintain reserves at their required level, an increase in the cost of such loans has an effect similar to that of increasing the reserve requirement. The classic method of indirect control is through open market operations, first widely used in the 1920s and now used daily to make some adjustment to the market. Federal Reserve bank sales or purchases of securities on the open market tend to reduce or increase the size of commercial bank reserves. When the Federal Reserve sells securities, the purchasers pay for them with checks drawn on their deposits, thereby reducing the reserves of the banks on which the checks are drawn. The three instruments of control explained above have been conceded to be more effective in preventing inflation in times of high economic activity than in bringing about revival from a

  • 39. Solution And The Effects Of Plastic Pollution The effect of plastic pollution and why it needs to be stopped In a society that wants everything convenient and ready to use, plastic found the perfect market for its thousands of uses. Food, toys, medical equipment, and even clothing come either from plastic or at least wrapped or pre portioned in plastic. While plastic makes the modern world so much cheaper and easier, it also comes with an environmental cost. With the endless amount of products made from or housed in plastic comes an endless amount of discarded wrappers, bags, straws, bottles, toys and even car parts. Some people wonder where all the plastic bottles and trash go that people carelessly drop on the daily, or think about about how recycling works, and if it even does work. For years the human race has been treating the environment like a landfill itself, and its about time there was some awareness raised. Plastic pollution is a major problem in today s society. Our first Earth day was celebrated 47 years ago while the nation was very poisoned. Places like Los Angeles were covered in thick smog. There were even rivers on fire in Cleveland due to massive pollution (Lytle). Ever since WWII the production of industrial chemicals has risen very rapidly. The USA generates and imports over 42 billion pounds of chemicals per day! These aren t just chemicals from a scientist s lab, they are hidden in everyday items from baby bottles to big screen tv s (Lytle). The Toxic Substances act (TCSA) of 34 years has been a failure. The government is chosen to decide which chemicals are safe and which are hazardous, and the only way they test if it s safe is inspecting the data given to them by the factories. These industries can lie and hide major details when providing reports to the government (Lytle). Some chemicals like BPA can have strange effects at even the lowest dosage. BPA has been used since the 1940 s to harden polycarbonate plastics and make epoxy resin which is then used in the lining of food and beverage containers. Polycarbonates can be identified by the recycling number 7 on the bottom of their containers, this is known as the resin identification code. BPA does its job in plastic very well, over 6 billion pounds of it are produced

How Did Aaron Copland Influence The Music World In October 1958, Aaron Copland made his television debut on the BBC program Monitor, marking the start of a successful new sideline for a composer whose career was already well established. Alongside ever more frequent conducting appointments, Copland s appearances in television documentaries and interviews provided a new outlet for his talents, particularly as his compositional inspiration began to wane. With his distinctive facial profile, affable and straightforwardly articulate manner, and high standing in the musicworld, Copland must have seemed to television s early producers a guaranteed audience winner. His natural ability in front of the camera was evident from the outset, and he brought to the burgeoning medium decades of experience in lecturing, teaching, and speech making. Copland s decision to get involved in television was surely influenced by the escalating success in the industry of his friend and disciple Leonard Bernstein. Environmental forces that affect our product and company include: competitive, technological, legal/regulatory, economic, and sociocultural. The environmental forces are important because they are the influences behind the market and consumer buying. Lower unemployment and inflation coupled with the current state of recovery that our country is in are all positive forces for our company, while lower spending on appliances is a concern for us. A time that had industrialized the whole of England, revolutionized science, government, literature, machinery, and even art. However, despite these evolutionary and forever game changing events, the Industrial Revolution had a dark side. In order for the industrialization of England to be stable and maintained, human hands were required in factories, mills, and mines. From dawn till dusk, men, women, and children engaged in dangerous and hard labour and were paid far below what they deserved for doing so. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Written by Dickens in 1815, Hard Times attempts to convince readers by illustrating the fact that life during the Industrial Revolution was anything but pleasant for human beings. Centred around Mr. Gradgrind and his moderately sized family, Dickens succeeds at giving the reader a up close and personal view of what it meant to be a father, mother, man, woman, and child during the industrial revolution. Dickens also provides the reader with three central themes: the mechanization of human beings, the conflict of fact versus fantasy, and the significance of the female figure. Dickens set out with a goal in writing this novel to expose the truth on how grim the Industrial Revolution really was for the human race. I therefore think that, through examining various examples sprawled throughout the text in connection to the three themes, there should definitely be enough evidence to conclude that Dickens interpretations of the Industrial Revolution were believably similar and, in a sense, true to what people were faced with during the 18th

Most of the early artworks was visual arts, such as paintings, sculptures, printmaking and many other things. The purpose of art is the creative way to express our emotions to empower or inspire people, or it could bring out different emotions within ourselves, depending on how you look at it. Many of the art pieces have a story to tell or it can express the state of mind and feeling of the artist when the art was produced. Art is here today and will be tomorrow as well because art is now a part of our society. For my three pieces of artworks to write about, I chose an artist that has many art pieces in many galleries. His style is absolutely creative and different. Nothing like I ve ever since before. The first painting I observed is by an artist who has been a street artist since 1985, Gary John. He grew up in Seattle but moved to Venice, California in 2003 and began selling his art pieces on the boardwalk. One art piece of his that I found interesting is 31st street in 3 D , 2015. The 41 x 29 inch art is drawn on a paper of what looks like an architectural plan. John drew a big 3 D, old school television with an antenna right in the center of it with black paint. On the left side of it, he drew with red paint, repetition of circles and lines with an arrow on the top. With the same red paint, he drew a simplified outline of a house. This section also emphasizes on women drinking alcohol, abortions, and society. Before this time period, these topics were unspoken of. The third section of the poem is called The Fire Sermon which refers to much about religion. Referring to Buddha s teachings, this section ties in the image of lifelessness. This can be understood as youthful passion does not exist anymore. Also, in this passage Eliot includes how relationships are always failing throughout lifetime. This flashes back to London when Eliot s wife Vivienne divorces him. The Fire Sermon refers to the Buddhist sermon that gives the section its title, and encourages men to douse the fires of lust. The fourth and fifth section are closely related because they tie in the rest of the poem together. The fourth section is named Death by water which basically connects The Burial of Death and ties the whole poem together into one unified poem. The fifth section What Thunder Said is the final section which brings religion, death, and summarization of
