The nature of God and belief Essays
a) Christians believe many different things about God s nature; due to the huge spectrum of
Christians that there are. However, as a general rule they perceive God as being one of the
following four things:
Personal where God is represented as a human being. Christians believe this because it means they
can directly relate to Him through one to one means. There are variations within this also: Some
say that this Personal God is one human being that is always there for everyone, others believe that
He is a different being for each person.
Impersonal an Impersonal view of God s perception is that God is some form of spirit or force, not
particularly there for you personally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another way in which Christians are respectful to their holy book in everyday life is by following
the teachings that the Bible contains, practically a second law of how they should live (the political
law being the first).
Christians may also see a completely new dimension to the Bible; as a source of information.
People aren t truly Christians unless they believe in the faith for themselves and before they can do
this, they need to understand the faith they can find this out from the Bible.
Most believe that although a human wrote it, that the Bible is the words of God, and they therefore
must pay it the utmost respect. They see it as very special, and of more importance than any other
book.
The Bible is actively used in daily life as an ultimate symbol of power and importance, it is read
from at special occasions including weddings and funerals and in courts of law people must swear
on the Bible to tell the truth. This shows that the Bible is widely respected by Christians in daily
life and by non believers in certain ways too.
c) On the face of it; I would disagree that there is no evidence that God exists . My initial
thoughts are that there is evidence, in the form of millions of believers, history, scriptures and the
overall legacy. However, I believe it depends on what is meant by evidence : If it means something
that proves that God exists then the answer is an emphatic no, but if it is asking if there is anything
to suggest

Tort Law Cases Essay
Presented are four separate cases that have been argued and settled in a court of law. Each of these
cases represent a different kind of tort, a tort is a civil wrong or wrongful act, which can be either
intentional or accidental, from which injury occurs to another (Hill Hill n.d.). The torts are as
listed, intentional, criminal, negligence, and liability as presented in the four researched cases.
State Rubbish Collectors Ass n v. Siliznoff When a person violates another person s legal rights
deliberately it is considered an intentional tort (Mayer et al. n.d.). Intentional torts are when
someone is assaulting someone, trespassing on a person private property, false imprisonment of an

The association was held liable for the damages that stemmed from the emotional distress of the
defendant. The plaintiff had caused the defendant to suffer such extreme fright that it compelled
him to either give up the Acme account he had been working in the service area and give to the
State Rubbish Collectors Association back payment or the defendant had to become a member with
the association and pay dues.
The courts ruled that the plaintiff had not right to use such coercive methods when competing for
business and the liability was clear in this circumstance. The defendant was awarded $1250.00 by
the plaintiff for compensatory damages and $4000.00 was awarded by the association for
exemplary damages. Plaintiff attempted to appeal stating the awarded amount was excessive; the
courts ruled that the amount awarded was not excessive and denied the appeal from the plaintiff.
No dissenting opinion was made.
People v. Watson Someone commits a wrongful act and someone is the victim is considered a
crime. The charge is against the defendant and if found to be responsible for the crime the
defendant serves a sentence and pays a fine to the government and possible restitution is paid to
the victim of the crime. The case presented is an example of a person who is accused of a crime.

Dwelling Insurance Research Paper
With the recovery of the housing market, more people are purchasing real estate as an investment
vehicle. If you own a one to four unit single family home or small apartment building as a real
estate investment, it s an excellent idea to consider purchasing dwelling insurance to protect your
property. The insurance agents at NorthEast Insurance Services, located in Englishtown, NJ,
explain the basics of dwelling insurance and why you should purchase it for your investment
properties.
Dwelling insurance provides coverage to the structure of your investment property but not any of
its contents, making it ideal for properties you own that do not contain any of your personal
belongings. Most dwelling insurance policies also include liability coverage.

Comparing Rappaccini s Daughter And The Birthmark
The male gaze is a philosophical concept that implies that men use the eyes to communicate with
females in a manner that is both critical, or can be described as sensual in nature. This is the case
in Nathaniel Hawthorne s short stories, Rappaccini s Daughter and The birthmark. In The
Birthmark Aylmer s gazeof the birthmark is not only an obsession, but an erotic feature that leads
him to commit unethical practices to get rid of his wife s imperfection. Rappaccini s Daughter
makes Beatrice feel guilty for her sexual allure. In addition, both male characters feel the need to
dominate and control the women in their lives for feared of being overpowered by their sexuality.
The male characters regard the femalecharacter as a symbol of sin for simply being women. Both

Sioux Nation Lakota Analysis
Ever changing, the world promised a comfort of shared misery and remained reliable. Brutal
truths are instilled, early and sudden, as lasting lessons always present and impossible to ignore.
When bold questions slither into a mind as to why anything is and what may be the reason for the
continued existence, people find or create places of unjustifiable magnificence. Paha Sapa, the
heart of everything that is, is this place for the Sioux. The War of the Black Hillsbetween the Sioux
Nation Lakota and the U.S. Americans has lasted for more than a century, and continues in the
courts, in the lives of its warriors, and is protested through stone. The Black Hills land claims
have been juggled through the courts since the courts became the only viable option to the Sioux
Nation. The battle for the land has the broken promise of the two treaties of Fort Laramie as a
focal point. This breach of promise, foreseeable in consideration of all other promises made before,

The Struggle Of Survival By Sherman Alexie
The Struggle of Survival
Imagine growing up in a place where everyone is poor, there is only one road going through the
town, one school, and one store. Now imagine having a tragic ancestral history of people who
were taken advantage of, massacred, and forced into the slums of society. For the people who
live in this place, this means there are little to no resources or opportunities to prosper and make a
better life. Also everyone there is being dragged down by a history of abuse and these misfortunes
are still affecting them in present day. The book The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven by
Sherman Alexie follows a young Indian boy through his experiences on an Indian reservation. in the
short stories Alexie demonstrates the good, the bad, and the ugly of what goes on native
American reservations. There is a deep longing of men to be warriors, because they have a need to
get ahead of their tragic history, and survive the harsh societies that try to keep them down, as
second class citizens.
Native Americans are constantly trying to escape their tragic history. The short story Every Little
Hurricane observes a typical night for a young native American boy on an Indian reservation. he
describes the adults surrounding him getting drunk and being reckless. towards the end of This
night the boy describes a significant moment when his uncle and father have a drunken petty fight.
the fight is described as, Witnesses. They were all witnesses and nothing more. For

The Beliefs Of The Monster In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Frankenstein s Monster
Three narrators deep, a God complex, and an unpleasant appearance; Frankenstein will withstand
the test of time. Novels and movies alike bounce back and forth between religious conflicts and
God like scenarios; society loves a power struggle that ultimately is overcome by a superior being.
Storytelling has been in circulation for thousands of years; from old Bible stories to grandma
reciting a recipe, people have enjoyed the pleasant sounds of their loved one s imaginations. Today
s culture loves a pretty face; super models and Hollywood actors are what people strive to look like.
Many perspectives of one story, a God complex, and an ugly face will forever keep this novel in
circulation.
Originally, the story flip flops between Victor Frankensteinand his creation speaking on behalf of
their own accounts and partially of each other s. Robert Walton, the man Victor tells his side of
the story too, relays the tale to his sister in the form of letters. Upon Walton s sister receiving
these letters, the original story many have been jumbled up and the true voyages that occurred
may have been lost. The use of many narrators makes it tricky for readers to one hundred percent
comprehend what occurred because everyone tells the same story differently to fit their own
personal needs. A more modern example of many speakers telling the same story is The Girl on
The Train; in Paula Hawkins chilling novel, readers get a sneak peak in the lives of three women

Why Did Magellan Voyage Dbq
Ferdinand Magellan is the son of Portuguese nobility and a student of cartography and
astronomy. Magellan had a goal to discover a western sea route through the Americans that led
to the Spice Islands. Throughout this voyage Magellan wanted more such as his own fleet
which was refused to be given by the King of Portugal. Instead, the Spanish king provided an
armada or fleet or ships of five. Magellan employed a group of men in their teenage years and
twenties which later staged a mutiny. Within the armada Magellan was the oldest in the group he
was about the age of forty, most men did not live past fifty. Magellan had a simple plan. His plan

Magellan had clever navigational skills to guide the fleet as expressed in Document C,
Magellan even relied on the taste of seawater to guide his fleet. As the water became fresher, he
knew he was traveling inland, and once it turned salty, he realize he was approaching the Pacific
on the western side of the strait. As far as Magellan s voyage to discover a western sea route to
Spice Islands, he was shrewd to be able to develop such navigational skills to determine which
direction the fleet was flowing. As stated in Document C, In addition, he regularly sent small
scouting parties in long boats. Sending out small leagues in long boats and small boats were
beneficial because the process of getting through straits was quicker. In order to prepare for any
obstacle, Magellan was always prepared. As presented in Document C, He ordered lookouts
scrambling to the highest perch on the ships, where they could see the waterways and obstacles
that lay ahead. Magellan sending of his crew members to the highest perch on the ship is yet risky,
but also has an advantage so the helmsman can be prepared for difficult obstacles along way of
their destination. Some of these obstacles included diseases like scurvy. Document D states,

Subliminal Messages In Advertising
Advertising Using Subliminal Messages to Promote Food Products
There have been studies showing how subject s mood and behavior changed when exposed to
subliminal messages. These studies have looked at if subliminal messages could influence our
desires (Benoit Tomas, 1992). Advertising agencies really benefit from subliminal messages
because of the affects they cause. In a study by Talbot and Duberstein (1991), they revealed that
subjects who are exposed to subliminal food messages were more likely to eat than subjects who
were not. This research can help other people to know what to watch and what not to watch. This
literature review will look at how subliminal messages in advertising (such as commercials,
billboards, magazine ads, etc.) can change our behavior and/or mood and it will also look at how
this could affect our eating habits. This is an important question because we are exposed to it all
the time and we need to know how it s affecting our lives. Literature Review
Treimer and Simonson (1988) did a study where they took a handful of undergraduate and graduate
students who responded to their ads. The study measured how much weight the participants lost
after watching a certain video. Half the participants were to watch a video that had some sort of
subliminal message in them. The other half were to watch a video that had no subliminal message.

While we acquire many benefits by using medications, there is always room for improvement and
reducing the side effects they cause. One of the most commonly used medications are
nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The way they work is by inhibiting a family of
compounds called prostaglandins. Prostaglandins have a wide range of functions they do for our
body, such as promoting inflammation and providing a layer of protection for our stomach from
the acid produced. Cyclooxygenase (COX) is the enzyme responsible for catalyzing the reaction
which turns arachidonic acid to prostaglandin. In our body, we have two types of COX enzymes,
COX 1 and COX 2. Both of these enzymes produce the prostaglandins that result in inflammation,

In developmental studies, DuP697 was shown to have equal affinity to the COX 1 and COX 2
ES complex. However, an unexpected conformational change would occur to COX 2 which
increased inhibitor affinity by 80 folds. DuP697 does this through a slow, tight binding
mechanism that is only seen with COX 2. This was a great surprise because it allowed for
structural analogs of DuP697 to be bioengineered which have higher selectivity towards COX 2.
The pharmaceutical company behind the bioengineering of DuP697 was G.D. Searle. After
altering DuP697 s structure, researchers were able to increase the selective inhibition of COX 2 by

arylsulfonamide greatly increased selective inhibition of COX 2. The original 80 fold selectivity
of DuP97 had now been increased to about a 1000 fold selectivity in

Theme Of Injustice In The Scottsboro Boys
True Injustice Prepared to see The Scottsboro Boys, I awaited in the view obstructed row H

History of Education and Philosophy of Nurse Education
The History and Philosophy of Nurse Education
Amy Allin
Capella University
Abstract
Each educator brings to the academic arena their own personal nursing philosophy that is based on
experience and is historic in nature. By studying the history of nursing, the educator is able to guide
the student through their education process. As an educator the nurse becomes an extension of one
s own personal philosophy. Nursing theory serves as the foundation on which to develop a
personal philosophy and characterizes nursing as a profession based on the art of caring and
science. In 1907, Adelaide Nutting and Lavinia Dock wrote in the preface to their book on the
history of nursing:
the modern nurse, keenly interested as she is in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The key to effective education is the commitment of the nurse educator (Bastable, 2003).
Philosophy of Nursing Education Historically the philosophy of nursing education is still patient
centered with theories of caring but nursing education and modalities have gravitated from hospital
based programs to science based programs in colleges and universities.
If higher education is to be a crucial sphere for creating citizens equipped to understand others,
exercise their freedoms, and ask questions regarding the basic assumptions that govern democratic
political life, academics will have to assume their responsibility as citizen scholars, take critical
positions, relate their work to larger social issues, offer students knowledge, debate, and dialogue
about pressing social problems, and provide the conditions for students to have hope and believe
that civic life not only matters but that they can make a difference in shaping it (Giroux, 2006).
The nurse and nurse educator share the same s personal philosophy of nursing acquired through
knowledge and life experiences. Wiedenbach believed that nurses philosophy was based on their
attitude, belief about life and how they reflected reality for them. The three essential components
associated with nursing philosophy are a reverence for life; respect for the dignity, worth,
autonomy, and individuality of each human being; and a resolution to act on personally and
professionally held beliefs (Nursing Theory, 2011).

Human And Non Human Primates
Language is used to distinguish humans from others (ZuberbГјhler, 2014). Human communication
has formally derived from past primate communication systems (Ghazanfar Eliades, 2014). Humans
express themselves in verbal, gestural, and written forms (ZuberbГјhler, 2014). Human and non
human primates have totally diverse forms of communication systems (Ghazanfar Eliades, 2014).
Speech has evolved from non humanprimates to its current compound state that humans utilize
present day (ZuberbГјhler, 2014)
Non human primates have abilities to communicate with others when in danger for recipients to
differentiate their calls (Ghazanfar Eliades, 2014). It is necessary for a primate to be able to learn
and distinguish any communication signals for natural selection (Ghazanfar Eliades, 2014).
Distinct alarm calls vary in some species due to different situations (Coye, Ouattara, ZuberbГјhler
Lemasson, 2015). Non human primate callings are limited because of the lack of acoustic
variation available (Coye, 2015). However, recent studies have shown that there is a combination
of basic acoustic parts that have been made into more complex vocal arrangements (Coye, 2015).
Some individuals are willing to help unrelated individuals if those individuals have had positive
experiences with them in the past (Ghazanfar Eliades, 2014). Sometimes, individuals would ignore
another individual s signal who sounded unrelated (Ghazanfar Eliades, 2014).

Pieter Bruegel s Parable
The Parable of the Blind
The Dutch inventive painter and remarkable draftsman, Pieter Bruegel the Elder was born in the
Netherlands in the1520s. That is all that is known until Bruegel residency is recorded in Antwerp,
Belgium in 1551, when he became a member of the Guild of Saint Luke, as a Master painter. Pieter
Bruegel the Elder created art that portrayed the humanity of people living in the real world. The
Parable of the Blind was the one of the last paintings he painted that is a biblical parable told by
Jesus about the leaders in church, the Pharisees, who created rules that lead the common people
away from God, just as the peasants were also lead astray in the 1500 and 1600s and how the
people are lead astray today.

Genres were down to earth or imagined by the artist using mediums that included painting, genre

Bruegel s drawing and paintings are considered Renaissance Flemish Baroque paintings, which is
art from the Southern Netherlands during the 16th and 17th centuries. Bruegel s paintings were an
invention of moving away from the princes, queens, kings and wealthy divine paintings, to the life
of the peasants. The common people caught the eye of Bruegel, possible from the political and
religious conflict that surround him in his world.
Political movements in the early1600s caused bitterness for the people living in the Netherlands,
which most likely affected Bruegel s art. However, there is not documentation of Bruegel s political
beliefs and the art work stands alone without the mysterious life story of Bruegel. Van Mander
wrote in his book, Het Schilder Boeck, that Bruegel requested from his wife that she destroy some
of the drawings and paintings of his because the contents may cause trouble with the Catholic

important for me to learn. I thought it would make people like me. I thought I would have friends.
That s something to laugh at, isn t it? (Keyes 299 300). This declaration further proves Charlie s

The Ultimate Entrepreneur Essay example
The Ultimate Entrepreneur
In 2002 it was reported that George W. Bush told the then prime minister Tony Blair that The
problem with the French is that they don t have a word for entrepreneur . Putting it kindly, this was
a mistake. Translated from French, an entrepreneur is someone who undertakes something. Of
course it carries a much wider meaning than that in the modern English definition. An entrepreneur
is someone who takes an idea and builds it into something great and successful. Someone with
vision, drive and creativity, and the will to make it happen, often against difficult odds. Or
certainly that s the general perception. Does this person have to be a genius? Above average
intelligence? What defines an entrepreneur really? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As an entrepreneur you re in the uncertainty business, so you need a high tolerance for risk. You
need to be willing to fail several times if necessary in order to get it right in the end, and you
need to be flexible in your thinking. Your idea may need to change as your journey unfolds, and
you need to be open enough to accept and work with that change. Uncertainty is a scary place, so
you will need to deal with the fear associated with that. Fear of not knowing where next month s
pay cheque is coming from, fear of failure. You must become accustomed to insecurity as a life
choice. And you ll need the ability to think creatively so you can change perspective to solve all
those inevitable problems that come up.
So far then we have vision, passion, persistence, high risk tolerance, flexible and creative thinking.
Throw in resilience for good measure. Not many people have these qualities up front, or maybe
more importantly, are willing to adopt them. It is argued that our education system does nothing to
promote entrepreneurship either. With its emphasis on conformity and thinking inside the box , it
arguably stifles creativity. It is interesting to note that people like Richard Branson, Alan Sugar and
Steve Jobs didn t finish higher education, and Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard. I m not saying

Gothic Doubling In Assassin s Creed
Gothic Doubling in Assassin s Creed: How Altair Represents the Hopes and Fears of Ezio
Today, I have more questions than answers. This is why I have come so far: to find clarity
(Ubisoft 1:38 1:48). Master Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze, main protagonist of Ubisoft s
2011 video game Assassin s Creed: Revelations, yearns for the wisdom supposedly left behind at
Masyaf Castle by the revolutionary Assassin Mentor, Altair Ibn La Ahad. Ezio desires Altair s
knowledge and wisdom to learn more about his Brotherhood s history, goals, struggles, and more
specifically, his own purpose. In the extended official E3 trailer for Assassin s Creed: Revelations,
Altair appears to Ezio during a battle at Masyaf. Altair has been dead for centuries,... Show more

The trailer opens to Ezio being held captive at the snowy castle of Masyaf by the Templar
Knights. Ezio is an experienced assassin who achieved the title of Master by reaching the peak
of his training. The trailer flashes back to his journey to Masyaf to demonstrate Ezio s resilience
while displaying his struggles, traveling through deserts and sailing through seas, to reach his
destination. Ezio mentions in his narration that his goal is to locate a hidden library, A center
full of invaluable wisdom. Ezio is in pursuit of the knowledge that his predecessor, Altair, left
behind. This common Gothic element is discussed by Professor Ewan Kirkland from the
University of Brighton in his paper on Gothic videogames: John Fletcher s discussion of female
Gothic cinema opens with the claim: The search for origins, especially when it takes the form of
reconstructing a hidden or forbidden scene is one of the most seductive of all narratives (112).
This seductive narrative is parallel to Ezio s journey as he is searching for a hidden library which
contains knowledge and wisdom from his order s past. In this fictional universe, The Assassins
have been at war with the Templar Order for most of known human history. The Templars contrast
the ideals of freedom held by the Assassins. The Templars wish to create a perfect world through
the order and control of weaker individuals.

Unsolved Case of Jon Benet RamseyВґs Murder Essay
WHO KILLED JON BENET RAMSEY?
The brutal murder of 6 year old JonBenet Ramsey on Christmas night in 1996 shocked America to
its core. Just as the Lindbergh baby kidnapping and murder seven decades earlier had seared the
nation s consciousness, this murder of a beautiful and talented child in a wealthy Boulder, Colorado
home renewed every parent s worst nightmare. It has been nearly three years since this violent crime
occurred and no one has been brought to justice.
At 6:48 p.m., Dec. 23, 1996, a 911 call was placed from the Ramsey home to the Boulder Police
Department. The call was terminated before a police dispatcher could speak to the caller. Six

A cursory search of the house was made, including the basement. One small storeroom in the
basement was skipped when John Ramsey reportedly said it had been painted shut.
The police left a few hours later to obtain a warrant to search the house for evidence of a break
in. When they returned, they were surprised to find what appeared to be a young child lying
under the Christmas tree. It was JonBenet. She appeared to be dead, and appeared to have been
dead for a period of time.
John Ramsey told Detective Arndt that he had found JonBenet in the wine cellar in the
basement, underneath a blanket, with a piece of tape covering her mouth. John Ramsey had
removed the tape from her mouth before he carried JonBenet upstairs to the first floor. There
appeared to be a piece of cord loosely tied around JonBenet s right wrist. There were bloodstains
in the crotch of her panties, but not on her skin. In addition, there were dark fibers on her skin, in
the vaginal area, that caused police to believe her body had been wiped down with a cloth.
Apparently, during the police s absence John Ramsey and a family friend searched the house
themselves.
Fingers of suspicion were pointed quickly in the direction of John Ramsey. The foregoing search
warrant affidavit was filed the same day JonBenet s body was found, and the resulting search
warrant was the instrument by which her body was removed from the house (normally a body
would be removed with consent). In addition to

The Importance Of Friendship In John Steinbeck s Of Mice...
Most people have that one friend that they have a special connection with. That they protect.
They make each other laugh. They would do almost anything for each other. In the book, of
Mice and Men, written by John Steinbeck, George and Lennie have this type of friendship.
George looks out for Lennie and Lennie stands up for George. In this book, George and Lennie s
relationship shows positive and negative traits of a friendship. Along with friendship come a lot
of hardships and complications. George and Lennie do not see eye to eye on everything that
goes on in the story. For example, Give it here! said George. aw, leave me have it, George. This
is showing how Lennie just wants to keep the mouse because he enjoys it but George won t let
him because he thinks it disgusting. George doesn t care what Lennie thinks its all up to George.
Also in the story, George verbally abuses Lennie. If Lennie doesn t do what George says, George
gets extremely rabid at Lennie. He frequently calls Lennie unintelligent and foolish. Oh! I ain t
saying he s bright. He ain t. But I say he s a god damn good worker (Steinbeck 22).... Show more

Lennie was accused of raping a woman. Lennie told George about this and they both fled the city.
George hasn t mentioned it to anyone since it happened. This is a good example of trust, even

Impact Of The Enlightenment Ideas On The American Revolution
If the Enlightenment thinkers never shared their inspiring government and political ideas, it is
expected that the United States would be extremely different then it is today. The Enlightenment
was a time when many new ideas on the freedom of people, how governments should be ran, and
how people should be involved in government decisions were introduced. The people who majorly
voiced these ideas were John Locke, Voltaire, Montesquieu, Rousseau, and Adam Smith. Primary
views that all these leading Enlightenment thinkers proposed, were the separation of powers, checks
and balances, the Social Contract, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, that government is
separate from economy, and natural rights. When Enlightenment ideas started to spread, many
groups of people were motivated into revolting against their governments, especially ones ruled by
absolute monarchies. The colonist in America were inspired by the Enlightenment ideas of Adam
Smith, Voltaire, and John Locke to revolt against the British monarch. After revolting, the colonist
used the Enlightenment ideas of Voltaire, John Locke, Rousseau, and Montesquieu to facilitate the
construction of the United Statesgovernment.
The American Revolution was strongly motivated by the various ideas of the Enlightenment
philosophers Adam Smith, Voltaire, and John Locke. The Revolution was a war started by the
colonists against Britain for citizens freedom and independence in America and without this

The United Kingdom Of God
32. THE FUTURE I enjoy that Brunner talks about the already/not yet aspect of the future,
because it relies on a biblical approach to scripture. The Kingdom of God has come, but it has
not yet come in its fullness because the earth is not yet fully redeemed (142). This is an
important distinction because it shows that Brunner has done his research, and it also helps
people understand exactly how he views the Kingdom of God and how they should
consequently view the Kingdom of God Near the end of the chapter Brunner talks about how
Christians must [wait] upon God for the Kingdom of Heaven (142). While I agree with what he
is saying, I think that Brunner should have qualified this statement to say that believers now
must be actively ready for the Kingdom of God to come in its fullness by doing the work of
Christ. While this may be implied in the message, stating it would have made Brunner s point
clearer and more powerful. 33. AFTERWARD? Brunner makes an excellent point when he states
that there is only one way to eternal life Christ (146). Many people shy away from the tough
questions, but Brunner rightly states the correct theological view that only through Christ are
people saved. While this declaration may seem trivial to some Christians, I believe that this
statement is exactly why this book is so powerful, because it clearly and assertively proclaims the
truth about Christian doctrine, which is then backed up by scripture. While Brunner is bold in

Raymond Carver s 1993 book Short Cuts featuring A small good thing and Neighbors, are short
stories that shadows the development of their respective characters into an unpredictable and

So far, it looks like a draw between the Cons and Pros for investing in PetroChina, right?
However, what investor should worry was that the favorable policies or even the whole political
atmosphere might change someday, which would become a large political risk. That risk was
hard to be eliminated using portfolio diversification since China was going to become the world
s 2nd largest economy and would have enormous impact on the economy in the rest of the world.
In other words, China s market was too large for investors to avoid and if you want to use risk
assets from other areas of the world to diversify the risk from China, the weight of those assets
would need to be incredibly too high. Nevertheless, the most interesting part is that investment may
be an art of counterbalance and compromise, when you look at the tremendous market volume and
brilliant prospectus of China s oil and gasoline market. This country has the largest population of
1.3billion, the second longest highways length of almost 100,000 kilometers and the second
largest automobile population of 85 million. And it was growing in average 8% during the years.

Thurber had a troublesome marriage with Althea; Walter is constantly being controlled by Mrs.
Mitty. Because of Mrs. Mitty s nagging and imposing influence seen in paragraphs 3 and 4,
Walter is triggered into a daydream. As a world famous surgeon, he not only is in control of his
life, but the life of his patient. Mitty cleverly adapts to emergencies like using a fountain pen to
fix the needed surgical machinery (The). Every time he escapes, it is because of a trigger, often
through an authority figure imposing on him. In fact, it is the clear distinction between fantasy and
reality that makes escaping a theme. The heavy juxtaposition between diction of the dream world
and real life is evident. For example, in the second daydream as a surgeon, Dr. Mitty snapped at
fellow doctors and nurses to give him a fountain pen and uses fake yet complicated sounding
medical terms such as Obstreosis of the ductal tract (The). However, in the subsequent paragraph as
Walter clumsily almost hits another car in the parking lot in reality, he only muttered in response to
the valet, unable to give a definitive reply. The dramatic juxtaposition between Mitty s spectacular
fantasies and mundane reality drives the story. Thurber highlights Mitty s desperateness for action
through the drastic differences in scenes. Also, Thurber distinguishes daydreams by incorporating
much more imperative voice and literary devices compared to straight dialogue in the reality.
Thurber literally makes the fantasies more alive and interesting than boring reality. Onomatopoeia
is seen in 3 of the 5 daydreams, ta pocketa pocketa... in paragraph 1 for the hydroplane and the same
sound for the surgical machine (The). Rat tat tatting in paragraph 14 reflects the machine gun
sounds Captain Mitty heard during war. By using onomatopoeia,

The Debate On College Tuition Essay
The Debate on College Tuition
In our country, several young students in pursuit of a higher education, must work overtime at the
local McDonalds, flipping burgers, to pay for their college tuition; while trying to juggle school
work and study time during their limited free time. Meanwhile these students live in a country who
has buried itself trillions in debt with no end in sight. Sadly, this is the environment that sets up the
impassioned debate on whether college tuition should be free in our country. In terms of the free
college tuition argument, those in favor of free college tuition focus on the benefits of a more
accessible higher education; whereas those in opposition point out the issues a free college will
cause a financially strained nation.
Free college supporters often point out that United States can afford to pay the tuition for every
student. Preston Smith and Sharon Szymanski argue in their article, Why Political Scientist Should
Support Free Public Higher Education , Free tuition at all public colleges...is economically
feasible. Smith and Szymanski go on to state, tuitions and fees at all four year and two year
degrees...totaled just over 59 billion dollars, only 5.6% of our federal budget (Smith, Szymanski).
Smith and Szymanski are pointing out that college tuition is not a huge sum compared to other
government programs like the military s 396 billion budget, and with proper accounting free
college tuition is perfectly possible.

Plants Are An Important Part Of The Ecosystem
Plants are an important part of the ecosystem. They provide most of the oxygen on Earth and are
part of the food chain for animals on land and sea (Miller Levine, 2006). Plants are unique in their
manner of reproduction. Some plants do not produce seeds. They reproduce asexually by vegetative
reproduction, producing offspring that are identical to the parent plant(Miller Levine, 2006, p. 622).
Other plants produce seeds and depend on the seeds survival to reproduce. The seed s survival is
dependent on several environmental factors, such as where the seed grows, presence of birds or
other animals that eat the seeds, the temperature, moisture, and nutrient levels of the environment
(Quinn, 2005). For a seed to grow and mature... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analyzing Michelangelo Antonioni s Blow Up Essay
Film 1B03 T08
Michelangelo Antonioni was an acclaimed Italian film director, revered for his contributions to the
discipline of cinema. In many ways, Michelangelo Antonioni has revolutionized the realm of art
cinema and is responsible for the foundations that the style now rests upon. One of his most
influential films was titled Blow Up. In his first English language film, Antonioni examines themes
of perception and reality, especially in regard to society and the individual. This film has continuous
markings of an art film from the opening sequence to the final credits. In order to analyze the film
s style we must be aware of the criteria that define and differentiate the art and narrative models. In

During this scene there are several elements conforming to the criteria of an art film. First, the
reappearance of Hemmings wife and her claim that she is in Paris is surprising and confusing.
This interaction adds a sense of confusion and detracts from and already limited amount of
information and understanding available to the viewer. The plot line between Hemmings and
his model wife is made clear to be of no use to function of the film, only as an event leading to
nothing. It is also in this party that the protagonist confronts his publisher about his discovery.
His disregard for the subject matter can be interpreted as society s care free ideology and false
reality. This is made explicitly evident when Ron tells Thomas that he is not a photographer,
implying he does not care about his quest. Ron, by choosing to ignore the facts presented before
him, is making himself ignorant in an attempt to carry on a life of uninterrupted pleasure. This
removal from reality is one of the fundamental issues recurrent in this film. Hemmings is faced
with a choice between what is moral and what is comfortable. The moral choice is more difficult
and requires him to sacrifice precious time and effort in order to do what is right. The

The Nature Of Science Vs. Religion
No One Man Can Have All That Power
Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the
breath of life, and the man became a living being (Genesis 2:7). In Genesis God created humans
from his own likeness from the dust of the ground in H.G Wells The Island of Dr. Moreau, the

into people we call beast people. Through this creation process he brainwashes these beast people
to have them believe he is as said in Revelation, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the

science vs religion; Wells argues that man s hubris in thinking that science can replace religion will
lead to their downfall. Dr. Moreau creates these beast, makes them follow his set of rules and

Each religion has a distinct set of practices that make the religion unique, for the most part they
all believe in a higher even though in this book it was never formally established as a religion,
they also have a set of rules made by the higher power. The way H.G Wells sets up the island

From the ages one through five he lived in Memphis. According to Teague himself, I lived in Paris
from the time I was six to eighteen. The majority of his schooling was done at Henry County. He
attended city school systems until high school.
Marsalis was well known in Henry County for football. With football being one of the biggest
events in Paris, being the star on the team is a quick way to get recognized. In his senior year
Teague had many offers such as Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee. With these options all being
division one schools, the decision was hard. The option that tugged at his heart most was to attend
the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. There Marsalis did many great things. After joining
Tennessee, Marsalis became well known in Knoxville with its thousand and thousands of supporters.
To benefit Henry County, Marsalis brought fame. With Henry County being classified as a 4 5A
school district, many average and decent athletes pass through often. Teague was exceptional and
was the minority because of his skills. Being an athlete with offers from at least three division one
schools, he was well known. In interviews and blogs Henry County was mentioned countless times,

Technology Has Changed The World
Technology has changed the world we live in and has had a significant impact on the way society
works and performs their jobs. Constant rises in innovations such as advanced computers,
communications systems, industrial robots, computer assisted manufacturing, and computer
assisted design have created shifts in the structures of many industries. These new technologies and
innovations have been universally introduced and used through various industries to modernize,
reduce costs and to compete more efficiently in both domestic and overseas markets. Changes in
technology have helped to changethe structure of many existing occupations as well as helped to
create new technologically based occupations. In addition, wages for high technology... Show more

Using economic theory and information gathered from prior academic research, this paper will
address how technological changes have affected the demand for skilled and unskilled workers.
There has been a long debate throughout various forms of literature related to this topic over
whether technology is destroying or creating jobs. Taking economic theory into consideration, I
have come to the hypothesis that technological changes have shifted the demand for both skilled
and unskilled workers; causing a downward shift in demand for low/unskilled workers and causing
an upward shift in the demand for skilled workers. Based on substitution and scale effects,
technological change creates shifts in labor demand. Because innovation and automation reduces
the cost of capital, this also results in substitution and scale effects.
In this paper, I will first review three sources of economic research related to my topic. I will
summarize their research question, methods and findings. I will then summarize my findings and
present some future points to consider. After assessing the various information gathered from prior
academic research, I have come to the conclusion that overall skill biased technological change
does exist and does in fact affect the demand for skilled and unskilled workers.

Racist Ad
Nivea s Re civilized Ad called Racist
Racism has existed throughout human history and technology has advanced like no other, but
how are we still able to advertise what is morally and ethically wrong to society? A great company
like Nivea has succeeded just by producing its quality product to us, why would it go overboard on
advertising such a campaign? Why would anyone advertise a racist campaign ad? Nivea creams
ad for Nivea For Men seriously offended some in the black community, actually plenty to make
such a big controversy. This Ad appeared in the September issue of Esquire. The ad shows a short

Thank you for caring enough to give us your feedback about the recent Re civilized NIVEA
FOR MEN ad. This ad was inappropriate and offensive. It was never our intention to offend
anyone, and for this we are deeply sorry. This ad will never be used again. Diversity and equal
opportunity are crucial values of our company. The team advertising group which was responsible
for this particular ad was the Chicago Advertising agency DraftFCB. This particular team, as there
is tons over every part of the country, had no diversity in the group. They were all of Caucasian race
and in their mid early 30 s. To them, as to many others it didn t reflect any racism, where it had to
leave to such a big disappointment to the society. The reason for this is because there is also
another similar ad to the racist one, but it shows a white model in the Ad. The one featuring a
white model reads, Sin city isn t a excuse to look like hell. To be fair, Nivea in this other ad asks
white men to look like you give a damn, which features a guy in a suit holding the similarly
severed head of another guy with shaggy hair and a full beard. But in contrast that ad has and says
nothing about re civilization. The message there seems to be that white men already

Brain Stimulation Research Summary
Article One
Okun (2012) utilized a systematic review of four samples to explore deep brain stimulation effects
on advanced Parkinson s patients quality of life, severity of motor symptoms, and the number of
hours per day spent in the on state without dyskinesia (Appendix D). Pertinent findings from the
critical appraisal of this article included: validity of the reviews utilized in the study, sample size,
measurement of variables, findings, and strengths and weaknesses.
The review employed four randomized, controlled clinical trials of deep brain stimulation that
occurred in Germany, Austria, United Kingdom, and the United States (Okun, 2012). It did not
discuss a detailed description of the search strategy that was used to find all the relevant studies in
the review. Participants were randomly assisted to one of two groups undergo bilateral deep brain
stimulation or to only receive medical therapy, which stood as the control group (Okun, 2012). In
both the treatment and control group, follow up appointments of the subjects occurred at three
months, six months, and one year (Okun, 2012). The Okun (2012) article ... Show more content on

Using four trials sanctioned for a pooled estimate on the effect of deep brain stimulation, which
assisted in the reduction of false negative results. It sanctioned for a more objective appraisal of
the evidence, by discerning the results of multiple studies. A factor that may have influenced the
result stands that three of the studies made comparisons with medical therapy, and one compared
deep brain stimulation with a no stimulation group (Okun, 2012). A weakness of this review
stands that the selection of the studies and data could have been biased. The researcher selected
studies to construct a review from, but did not state how the reviews were validated or why they

Concentration Camp Auschwitz Essay
Hitler s infamous concentration camp Auschwitz became well known as one of the most brutal
camps of the Holocaust. However, it was more than just an excruciating death center. It was a
place where German SS and Nazi officers broke prisoners mentally and physically. Millions of
innocent lives came to an end there. Considered one of the worst concentration camps ever,
Auschwitz was known for its methodical organization, horrendous treatment of prisoners, and an
atrocious death toll. Auschwitz was made up of three camps including Auschwitz I, Auschwitz II
Birkenau, and Auschwitz III Monowitz. Auschwitz I and Monowitz were labor camps where the
SS forced prisoners to do strenuous amounts of work. Birkenau was notoriously known as the
main extermination camp and held the biggest number of Auschwitz prisoners by far. Germans
have claimed these camps were made for three reasons. To overpower the enemy, give the SS free
labor forces, and to have a site to kill people that went against their dictator s regime. As Auschwitz
grew, the Nazi s constructed more than forty sub camps within the three main camps. Auschwitz
began being built in 1940, in Oswiecim, Poland. The Nazi s didn t waste any time after that to
start deporting prisoners there. By 1941, Auschwitz s operation already had 10,000 Jews in their
barracks. That number only grew and grew with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

were Jews. Yes, the SS officers killed mostly Jews, but 74,000 Poles, 15,000 Soviets, and 20,000
Germans also died by either gas chambers, executions, starvation, or while traveling to Auschwitz.

Bullies are Criminals
Bullies are everywhere and they can be found at church, home and most importantly in schools.
Nevertheless, there is no raised hand to stop the criminals or make no plans to stop them. Society
pays more attention to the victims when they have gone to drastic measures. However many might
say that at that moment a child is dead, has psychological damage, or puts others in harms way it
too late. Bullies are criminals and they should be treated as such, but if society worked together to
help or stop them early then maybe a bully won t become a bully. Nevertheless, in order to make a
solution one must understand the problem itself.
A bully is someone that uses their strength or influence to intimidate or force them into doing what
they want. They strip their victims of any power or control and do this day after day with no
remorse. They feed off of others pain and smile when they have made other cringe when they re
around. With this being said, there are different types and levels of bullying in society today. With
bullies in man s everyday life, it might be hard to tell the difference with just a look. However,
the various types of bullying are known more on school grounds. This is the problem society
must deal with in order to help or cure our bullying epidemic. Every morning, thousands of
children are terrified to walk into school. This isn t because they don t like school or they don t
wanna get up. These child decant focus on their education because one of their peers

and structure, and his desires in life are quite simple. He is the man who likes to lay his cards on

Stanley is portrayed as being superior to his wife, Stella. The reader can precieve that Stanley s
strong presence will be a significant theme throughout the play. His chief amusements are
gambling, bowling, sex, and drinking, and he lacks ideals and imagination. His disturbing,
degenerate nature, first hinted at when he beats his wife, is fully evident after he rapes his sister in
law. Stanley shows no remorse for his brutal actions.
Stanley possesses an animalistic physical vigor that is evident in his love of work and fighting.
One characteristic of Stanley is his rudeness and cruelty. Stanley s animosity toward Blanche
manifests itself in all of his actions toward her his investigations of her past, his birthday gift to
her, his sabotage of her relationship with Mitch. Scene eight mentions Blanche s birthday party,
and surprisingly, she receives a gift from Stanley. This gift, however, is not one that most people
would appreciate. Blanche is very surprised to get a gift from Stanley, and as she opens it she

In student learning both printed books and e books are included because there are different type of
students, some have more emotional connect with the traditional books while others learn better
with e books.
In this report, we are further going to discuss about the main part in which we will look at the
ways that gives the more edge to printed books in comparison to e books for student learning.
According to a new study, 92% of college students would rather do their reading the old fashioned
way, with pages and not pixels. The finding comes from American University linguistics professor
Naomi S. Baron, author of the book Words Onscreen: The Fate of Reading in a Digital World.
Baron led a team that asked 300 college students in the United States, Slovakia, Japan and
Germany how they preferred to read. Physical books were the choice of 92% of the respondents,
who selected paper over an array of electronic devices . (Schaub, 2016)
Steven Hernandez, a student at Arizona State University is among those who prefer reading the
real McCoy over files on a gadget. I believe that the possibility and likelihood of distraction is too
high when it comes to online learning tools like textbooks, he wrote in an op ed for his student
newspaper. The upside to e books is the low price and the user interaction that it enables, but it
requires integration and education of the technology being used integration that students like
myself are not accustomed to .

Macbeth Illusion Vs Reality Essay
The line between an illusion and reality is a very slight. The only way to differentiate between
the two is through one s thoughts and perception. One s own self perception can vary depending
on one s circumstances and the way one is raised. This slight gap between illusion and reality is
also affected by one s back story and how an individual is taught to think. In life, as in literature,
one s own self perceptioncan affect the way one differentiates between what is an illusionand what
is reality. In the play Macbeth, the author, William Shakespeare reveals how one s own self
perception can affect the way an individual differentiates between illusions and reality. Many
characters shift the way they see reality and question the illusions of other characters nature
because of the way they see themself and their past experiences. Macbeth, the story s tragic hero, is
a young man who loses his ability to differentiate between an illusion and reality resulting in...

Shakespeare is showing the reader that Macbeth still has insight as to whether something is an

The Social Marketing Aspects Of Twitter

literatures that address on the social marketing aspects of Twitter. With the growing accessibility of
the internet, social media does not only change the dynamics of sustaining human relationships (O

center their marketing strategy on social media branding because active engagement implies the

Expanding beyond microblogs, the ease and openness of messages have made Twitter the best
alternative to reporting and accessing emergencies news such as earthquakes and political
movements (Muralidharan et al., 2011). More importantly, Jansen, Zhang, Sobel and Chowdhury
(2009) reported that approximately one quarter of the tweets touches on brands, among which users
seek to provide information or express opinions about the brand. Consistently, Zhang, Jansen
Chowdhury (2011) indicated that Twitter provides a rich plethora of resources for companies to
grasps consumers taste, trends and promote campaigns through engaging in the eWOM
communication process. As shown, social media platforms become an essential channel for brands
to gather audiences and heighten brand awareness, but no studies have analysed the well
established Twitter community of big brands as a good reference. It is worthy examining how the
biggest brands such as McDonalds and KFC manipulate their tweets on Twitter and uncover the
type of messages that both food giants deliver. There has been a mixture of views among
researchers regarding the success measurements of social marketing (Baumgartner, 2014). The
importance of maximising tweets in social branding is emphasized in Keller (2007) s study.
Regardless of the nature of the tweet material, Keller argues that the more frequent a brand tweets,
the more probably it will attend to specific customers. While

Since Confederation, Relations Between The Canadian Federal
Since Confederation, relations between the Canadian federal government and the native people of
Canada have been strained due to the former existence of the Indian Residential School System.
Following the passage of the Indian Act, the first residential schools were established across Canada
to assimilate indigenous children into Canadian society through the forced adoption of European
customs at the expense of their own culture. During its tenure, approximately 150,000 indigenous
children were separated from their communities and families, and forcibly enrolled into residential
schools where many would be subjected to physical, and psychological abuses. Despite its

The articles of these treaties were often detrimental to the native people who partook since the
compensation provided for their lands was inadequate, often leaving them dispossessed of
traditional territories and dependent on a prejudiced federal government s aid. Consequently,
many aboriginal people were relocated to remote reserves where, despite being granted limited
self government, essential services were scarce and living conditions were deplorable. It was on
the reserves that many residential schools were built since the provision of education was a
contingency specified by the natives in exchange for their lands. Recognizing its historically unfair
payment for native lands and its failure to adequately deliver on the clauses outlined by the natives
in the treaties, such as the supply of quality education, the federal government has negotiated
twenty six comprehensive land claims since 1973. These new treaties have restored native
ownership to over 600,000 km of lost lands, transferred capital exceeding $3.2 billion, and have
upheld native ways of life including the right to self government.
In addition to its recent negotiations regarding comprehensive land claim arrangements, the federal
government of Canada has made efforts to improve its financial aid for indigenous peoples. The
Constitution Act of 1867 stated that aboriginal affairs were to be placed under federal control thus
obliging the federal government to

  • 2. The nature of God and belief Essays a) Christians believe many different things about God s nature; due to the huge spectrum of Christians that there are. However, as a general rule they perceive God as being one of the following four things: Personal where God is represented as a human being. Christians believe this because it means they can directly relate to Him through one to one means. There are variations within this also: Some say that this Personal God is one human being that is always there for everyone, others believe that He is a different being for each person. Impersonal an Impersonal view of God s perception is that God is some form of spirit or force, not particularly there for you personally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another way in which Christians are respectful to their holy book in everyday life is by following the teachings that the Bible contains, practically a second law of how they should live (the political law being the first). Christians may also see a completely new dimension to the Bible; as a source of information. People aren t truly Christians unless they believe in the faith for themselves and before they can do this, they need to understand the faith they can find this out from the Bible. Most believe that although a human wrote it, that the Bible is the words of God, and they therefore must pay it the utmost respect. They see it as very special, and of more importance than any other book. The Bible is actively used in daily life as an ultimate symbol of power and importance, it is read from at special occasions including weddings and funerals and in courts of law people must swear on the Bible to tell the truth. This shows that the Bible is widely respected by Christians in daily life and by non believers in certain ways too. c) On the face of it; I would disagree that there is no evidence that God exists . My initial thoughts are that there is evidence, in the form of millions of believers, history, scriptures and the overall legacy. However, I believe it depends on what is meant by evidence : If it means something that proves that God exists then the answer is an emphatic no, but if it is asking if there is anything to suggest ... The defendant was awarded $1250.00 by the plaintiff for compensatory damages and $4000.00 was awarded by the association for exemplary damages. Plaintiff attempted to appeal stating the awarded amount was excessive; the courts ruled that the amount awarded was not excessive and denied the appeal from the plaintiff. This research can help other people to know what to watch and what not to watch. This literature review will look at how subliminal messages in advertising (such as commercials, billboards, magazine ads, etc.) can change our behavior and/or mood and it will also look at how this could affect our eating habits. This is an important question because we are exposed to it all the time and we need to know how it s affecting our lives. Literature Review Treimer and Simonson (1988) did a study where they took a handful of undergraduate and graduate students who responded to their ads. One of the most commonly used medications are nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The way they work is by inhibiting a family of compounds called prostaglandins. Prostaglandins have a wide range of functions they do for our body, such as promoting inflammation and providing a layer of protection for our stomach from the acid produced. Cyclooxygenase (COX) is the enzyme responsible for catalyzing the reaction which turns arachidonic acid to prostaglandin. In our body, we have two types of COX enzymes, COX 1 and COX 2. However, an unexpected conformational change would occur to COX 2 which increased inhibitor affinity by 80 folds. This was a great surprise because it allowed for structural analogs of DuP697 to be bioengineered which have higher selectivity towards COX 2. The pharmaceutical company behind the bioengineering of DuP697 was G.D. Searle. After altering DuP697 s structure, researchers were able to increase the selective inhibition of COX 2 by substituting the methylsulfonylphenyl to an arylsulfonamide. This new compound would now be known as celecoxib. Once again, through X ray crystallography, crystal structures showed that arylsulfonamide greatly increased selective inhibition of COX 2. History of Education and Philosophy of Nurse Education The History and Philosophy of Nurse Education Amy Allin Capella University Abstract Each educator brings to the academic arena their own personal nursing philosophy that is based on experience and is historic in nature. By studying the history of nursing, the educator is able to guide the student through their education process. As an educator the nurse becomes an extension of one s own personal philosophy. Nursing theory serves as the foundation on which to develop a personal philosophy and characterizes nursing as a profession based on the art of caring and science. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The key to effective education is the commitment of the nurse educator (Bastable, 2003). Philosophy of Nursing Education Historically the philosophy of nursing education is still patient centered with theories of caring but nursing education and modalities have gravitated from hospital based programs to science based programs in colleges and universities. If higher education is to be a crucial sphere for creating citizens equipped to understand others, exercise their freedoms, and ask questions regarding the basic assumptions that govern democratic political life, academics will have to assume their responsibility as citizen scholars, take critical positions, relate their work to larger social issues, offer students knowledge, debate, and dialogue about pressing social problems, and provide the conditions for students to have hope and believe that civic life not only matters but that they can make a difference in shaping it (Giroux, 2006). The nurse and nurse educator share the same s personal philosophy of nursing acquired through knowledge and life experiences. Wiedenbach believed that nurses philosophy was based on their attitude, belief about life and how they reflected reality for them. The three essential components associated with nursing philosophy are a reverence for life; respect for the dignity, worth, autonomy, and individuality of each human being; and a resolution to act on personally and professionally held beliefs (Nursing Theory, 2011). ... This is an important distinction because it shows that Brunner has done his research, and it also helps people understand exactly how he views the Kingdom of God and how they should consequently view the Kingdom of God Near the end of the chapter Brunner talks about how Christians must [wait] upon God for the Kingdom of Heaven (142). While I agree with what he is saying, I think that Brunner should have qualified this statement to say that believers now must be actively ready for the Kingdom of God to come in its fullness by doing the work of Christ. Figure 1: Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images of (a) MWCNT and (b) Ni NP MWCNT and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images of (c) MWCNT and (d) Ni NP MWCNT electrodes. The image in Fig. 1a shows that the MWCNTs form a dense and open matrix of high surface area. The MWCNTs are 4 5 Вµm in length and 60 100 nm in diameter. The presence of Ni NPs on the MWCNT surfaces in Fig. 1b does not influence the structure of the MWCNT matrix, leaving it quite open and accessible to the electrolyte. In order to clearly show the presence of Ni NPs on the MWCNTs, transmission electron microscopy was conducted. Fig. 1c shows a TEM image of MWCNT prior to deposition of Ni NPs by PLA. The walls of the MWCNT are smooth and void of any observable NPs. Fig. 1d contrasts the TEM image shown in Fig. 1c by displaying a Ni NP decorated MWCNT. • 35. The Debate On College Tuition Essay The Debate on College Tuition In our country, several young students in pursuit of a higher education, must work overtime at the local McDonalds, flipping burgers, to pay for their college tuition; while trying to juggle school work and study time during their limited free time. Meanwhile these students live in a country who has buried itself trillions in debt with no end in sight. Sadly, this is the environment that sets up the impassioned debate on whether college tuition should be free in our country. In terms of the free college tuition argument, those in favor of free college tuition focus on the benefits of a more accessible higher education; whereas those in opposition point out the issues a free college will cause a financially strained nation. Free college supporters often point out that United States can afford to pay the tuition for every student. Preston Smith and Sharon Szymanski argue in their article, Why Political Scientist Should Support Free Public Higher Education , Free tuition at all public colleges...is economically feasible. Smith and Szymanski go on to state, tuitions and fees at all four year and two year degrees...totaled just over 59 billion dollars, only 5.6% of our federal budget (Smith, Szymanski). The plot line between Hemmings and his model wife is made clear to be of no use to function of the film, only as an event leading to nothing. There has been a long debate throughout various forms of literature related to this topic over whether technology is destroying or creating jobs. Taking economic theory into consideration, I have come to the hypothesis that technological changes have shifted the demand for both skilled and unskilled workers; causing a downward shift in demand for low/unskilled workers and causing an upward shift in the demand for skilled workers. Based on substitution and scale effects, technological change creates shifts in labor demand. Because innovation and automation reduces the cost of capital, this also results in substitution and scale effects. In this paper, I will first review three sources of economic research related to my topic. I will summarize their research question, methods and findings. I will then summarize my findings and present some future points to consider. After assessing the various information gathered from prior academic research, I have come to the conclusion that overall skill biased technological change does exist and does in fact affect the demand for skilled and unskilled workers. Considered one of the worst concentration camps ever, Auschwitz was known for its methodical organization, horrendous treatment of prisoners, and an atrocious death toll. Auschwitz I and Monowitz were labor camps where the SS forced prisoners to do strenuous amounts of work. To overpower the enemy, give the SS free labor forces, and to have a site to kill people that went against their dictator s regime.
