1) Students will work in groups of 1-2 people to develop a point-counterpoint debate on an education technology topic that will be presented live in class.
2) Students must create two live podcasts using BlogTalkRadio, each 30 minutes long on an education related topic.
3) Students will participate in webinars where they teach a lesson using technology and participate in other students' webinars. Webinars must be conducted between January 24th-30th.
4) Additional assignments include posting links to resources, deciding on a podcast theme, beginning a professional journal article, and starting to plan the debate topic and group.
Planning online meetings
Planning an online meeting requires designating a facilitator to manage the meeting from start to finish and communicate with participants. The main presenter focuses on developing the agenda, slides, and handouts while assistants help answer participant questions and address technical issues. It is important to set up equipment at least 30 minutes before the meeting starts and have presenters log on 15 minutes early to troubleshoot any problems. The facilitator should take roll call, review the agenda and talking points, check connectivity, and record the meeting if desired. They should also keep participants engaged throughout and the conversation on track. Post-meeting, collect feedback and send thank you notes to participants.

Running a webinar as an expert
- 1. 10 top tips
- 3. . Timetable of the event . Presentations, videos you intend to use . Presentation of the guests with pictures . Webinar back-ups (if technical problems arise) . Pages with links, guests résumés, contacts (That has to be online several days before the webinar and stay online after) . Forum page (for participants to be able to react to the webinar and to ask questions) . Ask yourself if the event is serving your objectives.
- 4. Check the technological sources, headsets, microphones, camera… Check the compatibility of the different softwares when mixted.
- 5. Check the access of the back-up documents, audio sources, etc. Check your notes and the timetable. Make a last technical test. (Keep technicians phone numbers at hand.)
- 7. Welcome the participants Present the speakers Present the schedule of the webinar, including what will be online after (summary, links, seminar recording, Q & A forum ...) Let a window with the schedule in view during all the session
