A Woman s Right Of Abortion
A Woman s Right to Abortion
Roe v. Wade, 1973 On January 22, 1973, the supreme court justices came to a decision about
abortion. I am going to start off by giving some general information about the laws passed and
other events that have led the abortion laws to where they are now. In 1821, Connecticut passed the
first law that restricted abortion in the United States. It prohibited the use of toxins to cause a
miscarriage. Back then, women usually didn t know they were pregnant until the baby started
kicking inside them or a little bit before. This law made it illegal for women to make themselves
miscarry by taking those toxins. In 1873, Anthony Comstock lobbied to pass the Comstock Law
which was a law banning, distributing or the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the 1960 s, Pat Maginnis founded the Society for Humane Abortion. She was one of the first
people to try to legalize abortion. They thought she was insane, Reagan said. A lady named
Sherri Finkbine was a mother of four who lived in Arizona. In 1962, she was denied a request by
the hospital for a legal abortion so she traveled to Sweden to get one. She had taken the drug
thalidomide, which researchers linked to various birth defects. The hospital withdrew its offer
to Finkbine after she told her story to the local newspaper for the purpose of alerting women and
soon to be mothers of the dangers of he drug. The publicity she got from the newspaper article
threw her into the middle of the world wide debate. In 1969, a few young women in Chicago
started an underground system nicknamed Jane. This system helped women find safe and
affordable but still illegal abortions. These ladies learned to perform them by themselves.
According to a documentary about the group, they completed nearly 12,000 abortions in about 4
years. By the 1970 s, 20 states had passed abortion reform or repeal laws. Alaska, New York,
Hawaii, and Washington had legalized abortion. The Supreme Court legalized birth control pills in
1972. This made it legal for all women to have access to birth control pills, no matter what their
marital status was. Before this, only married women were allowed to be on birth control pills. They
realized that having single woman not on birth

Similarities Between American Beauty And The American Dream
Leading up to the great 2016 American election Bernie Sanders stated that for many the American
Dream has become a nightmare . The relevance of this quote is strongly represented in the film
American Beauty directed by Sam Mendes and the play The Glass Menagerie written by Tennessee
Williams. With The Glass Menagerie being set in the early 30 s, American Beauty just before the
turn of the Millennium in 1999 and Bernie quoting the American Dream in recent years, it is
obvious that throughout the decades society continues to trap victims into the dangerous illusion
that is the American Dream. The two texts explore this idea of the American Dream being
unattainable and contrasts reality with dream resulting in self suffocation, disturbance of
relationships and the ultimate desperate action, The authors question the American Dream and
invite the audience to uncover the reality of the characters voicing the American Dream and their
suffocated by their false ideas of happiness. In American Beauty, Lester s wife Carolyn believes
strongly in the philosophy that hard work and opportunity is rewarded by status, power and
wealth the American Dream. Her belief that wealth equals success consumes her and is expressed
in the form of material possessions which she thinks defines her self worth. Her image of success
is projected though her clothing and body language. Carolyn is introduced in a scene where she is
clipping the roses outside so they look perfect, integrating her fascination

Liam O Flaherty s Short Story The Sniper
By assessing the ongoing situation and constructing a strategy while beleaguered during the Irish
Civil War in the enthralling short story The Sniper, Liam O Flaherty reveals to readers the military
expertise and prowess of the Irish Republican sniper while amidst combat with the opposing Free
Staters. For instance, amidst the fading sky in Dublin, the alert and observant Republican sniper

School Needs Assessment And Community Conversations
School needs assessment and community conversations This was definitely a much hard task to
complete than I had anticipated from the beginning. The thought by me was some research and
I should be able to find then necessary information. However, the simple fact that as a private
school system, we do not need to do a lot of these public school state mandated items. I looked
for a long while and was finally excited to find a school needs assessment for Wahlert. Two
things jumped out at me at as I started to read: 1. the name of the school was Wahlert and not
Wahlert Catholic which meant that it was older than 8 years. 2. It was for Wahlert and not Holy
Family which meant it predated 2001. The actual date was 1999 and was really no help since a
lot of things have changed since then. Further exploration led me to find the math, reading, and
science testing data for our system and for Wahlert. Along with that, I was able to find our
demographic breakdown for the schools in the system. The information was really basic as I
compared it to the Dubuque Community Schools on the same Iowa government website. This did
allow me to compare the scores for math, science, and reading between ourselves and the public
schools. This was at least so form of community conversation as our local paper published the data
as well. Though, most of the time the private schools will be slightly mention or mentioned on
another day so as to not lead to comparisons being drawn between the

I m sure many of my peers and those a little older than me can put down a long list of vacations

beautiful pictures that would make a lion shed a tear if they stared at it long enough.
Unfortunately that hasn t been me, but I have been blessed enough to be able to travel to Boston,
Massachusetts and Orlando, Florida. I ve been to other locations before in my life but I would put

One month before the day we planned to leave, they changed the destination to Universal Studios. I
was even more thrilled. On the opposing side of that, my cousin manny was jacking around with
me the day before that made me slip and fall on my phone. I was so upset because I wouldn t be
able to take pictures or communicate with my contacts. That following night I spent the night on
the couch at my Chantel and Manuel s home. I didn t go to be until eleven o clock and the plane
ride departed at five in the morning. The next thing I knew it was 3 in the morning and time for
us to leave. I packed everything the night before along with my family; we were prepared and
ready to go. We landed down around nine a.m. eastern time. The sky was so sunny and the
people lively with the palm trees moving along like they were jamming to a song. When we
obtained our entire luggage, the next stop was at the car rental services. My auntie and Uncle
went back in forth about what care to pick. The option was a family van or a ten passenger bulky
square truck that prisoner travel in for community service.
It was a long first day and we didn t get into the hotel until 8 o clock. We spend the first hours of
our time meeting Zulma, my uncle s sister, and her kids. My family stopped at Chick fil a for
some food. Then lastly we went shopping for food for that week so we wouldn t have to eat out

Akhenaten Influence On Ancient Egyptian Society
In the heart of Egypt along the east bank of the Nile River lies the archaeological site of Amarna,
this semicircle of barren land bound by colossal limestone cliffs was home to an entire nation of
ancient Egyptian brought there by the will of an insurgent man: the pharaoh Akhenaten. Tyrant and
arguably history s first individual not only eradicated the most traditional and vital aspect of
Egyptian life but wreak havoc by reforming all traditional Religious , Political. Social and
Economic elements of the Egyptian empire. The harbinger of anarchy no doubt revolutionised
countless aspects of Egyptian life from changing a polytheistic society to a monotheistic society to

Akhenaten s revolution saw the abandonment of Egypt s traditional polytheistic society to a
monotheistic society against the will of a whole nation. Not only was this expressed through the
grotesque style of art employed during the Amarna period but also through poems and wall reliefs
found. For many years Egyptians worshipped a plethora of gods which encompassed vast aspects
of everyday life from the Nile valley to rising and setting of the sun, religion aided in explaining the
world around them. That was until Akhenaten The Heretic King extinguished the existence of all
even the principal god Amun Re but one egyptian god, the Aten eliminating all the gods and
goddess that the people had relied on for generations. The Great Hymn to the Amun Which
Akhenaten later alters in worship of the Aten highlights that it is only through reverence to these
gods especially Amun re could ancient Egyptians merit their provision and therefore be granted
access to the elysian fields salvation however Akhenaten s reign also took this belief

Why Drawing Is Drawing
A person can have many skills, whether it be good or bad. Someone could paint really well or
could be a disastrous cook. There are many common skills such as doing underwater handstands
and then there are skills that are absolutely out of the blue, for example bending their index finger
backwards down the wrist. My skillisn t too common though it isn t very unique either. My skill
isn t painting or cooking, or even having strangely, stretchy fingers. My skill is drawing. Drawing is
one of my passions, because it is a good stress reliever and it can help express emotion. Drawing
is very useful for when I m upset and need something to boost my moralemood and is comforting
for just a normal, rainy day activity. I especially draw especially when I m bored or trying to pass
time. Some people agree, and find drawing fun, but others may find it frustrating or boring. I enjoy
drawing because it lets me work at my own pace. I casually sketch, whether it be for a novel or just
a plain doodle, I find a way to maneuver it into random pieces of work. I could be working on
notes, and sooner or later have a mural on the sides of the paper. This is funny considering that
when I get an actual sketching pad, the sketches look horrible, but on a sheet of scratched up...

I will admit, drawing is hard when you first attempt it, but drawing is made up of building
blocks. You start out with a pencil sketch, and start adding new edits and textures to make it
more and more vivid and detailed. I don t usually color drawings because they look better to me
in mono, but that gives me a chance to make the tiny details in the drawing a lot bigger. Drawing
may come as a gifted skill to some people where they can draw perfectly when a pencil is given to
them, but I find it hard to believe that without practice, a magnificent piece of art can be

The Scream
In this essay I will be analyzing two works of art using aesthetics as a basis of judgment. Also I
will be examining and critiquing these two great works of art. Furthermore, I will be using the
four part process of the method in critiquing artwork which is understood to be describing,
analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating. The works of art I have chosen to like is The Screamby
Edvard Munch. According to Khan Academy Munch created four forms of this art work, the
first was created in 1893 painting in oil, tempera and pastel on cardboard. The second and third in
1893 and 1895 both in pastels and last 1910 was done in tempera. The piece I will be writing about

The shapes and forms are unnatural and the whole painting is filled with disturbing images of
deformed women. Moreover, the uncomfortable feeling the painting makes you feel as the three
images in the center stares directly back at you. His use of that psychic line is uncanny and very
disturbing and I can t help but to feel I hate this painting. Picasso uses sharp angular shapes and
forms with the neutral color black as it appears he painted the head of the woman s image
located on the top right hand corner of the canvas where it seems he blotted and smeared paint
on the canvas to represent his meaning of deformity. Every other image is defined with
geometric shape and this effect in my view causes the painting to be unbalanced. His use of the
elements and principles were ignored or not present, he used shading that was irregular on his
forms which caused the effect of confusion on where the direction of light was coming from.
Patrick Frank writes, in Artforms, Although some art historians decry this work s negative
depiction of women, viewers are challenged by the paintings hacked out shapes and overall
intensity (401). This makes my point of if a painting has no meaning or a painting without a clear
meaning to it will mostly lead to confusion and more time than not it will lead the viewer to a
feeling of

Social Media Communication Essay
Social media is one of the main ways of communication. This generation uses social media to do a
majority of their communication. There are many things to think about when communicating with
social media. Also when running a company such as J L heating and air I want my customers to
perceive my company as being respectful. When responding to emails I want my customers to get
a very prompt response. Sometimes email is the only impression the customer may have of the
company, it defiantly needs to be a great first impression. Below are the rules that our company
will be abiding by.
Don t write in all caps. When writing in all caps it appears that you are yelling at the audience or
person you are talking to. Being aware of how you may come off to the person you are
communicating with is very important. Writing in all caps can feel very rude. This is also
considered disrespectful.
Check grammar. Checking grammar before posting or sending an email can make you appear
more intelligent. Your audience will be more likely to take you serious if your grammar is correct.
This also makes customers feel that if you are uneducated in grammar then what other areas of your
skill set are you uneducated in.
Don t say anything you wouldn t say to anyone s face. People generally seem to feel more
confident and say things they would never say to someone s face while sitting behind a keyboard.
There are defiantly more appropriate was to handle situations than cowardly hiding behind a
keyboard.

Building Blocks
In my classroom, I plan to have pencils and paper in every center so that the children will have the
opportunity to write at all times. With the writing and art centers, the children will be able to create
works of art such as stories, pictures, writing their names, and other works of art that they would
like. In the writingand art centers, the possibilities are endless as to what the children can create
and they are able to use their imagination, fine motor skills, all while working on communicating
their thoughts and ideas onto paper. The reason I chose building blocks/construction center for my
classroom is because the children get to have a hands on experience to learn through. Building
blocks help with the cognitive development in preschoolers, and they can also use their own
imaginations to create a masterpiece. With blocks, children are also able to learn about the
different shapes, sizes, colors, and ways of making patterns and comparing one object to another....

I believe that all children need to be exposed to books from a very early age. By exposing children
to books from the start, it will build up their interest and curiosity so that when they get to the
reading stage they will succeed and have a rich vocabulary knowledge. By placing books in my
pre kindergarten class, the children will learn about the concepts about print, and as they progress
through the year they will learn the the words in the story is what contains the message, and that
each story has a meaning. In my book center, I will also have puppets that go with some of the
books so that the children can use the puppet while reading and have the puppet mouth the words,
or use the puppet and act out the story. In my book center the children will have the opportunity to
read to one another as well as by themselves, this will help each child work on their listening,

What Happens During A House Repossession Essay
What Happens During a House Repossession
Repossession is always a last case scenario, with most other options generally considered before
any court will give a lender the right to repossess your home. However, it does happen, and if you
feel it might happen to you then you re probably going to want a little guidance regarding what
happens, when it happens, why it happens and how you can make the process as painless as
humanely possible.
What is Repossession?
Repossession is a legal process in which a lender (the bank more often than not) takes back
ownership of a property because a mortgage, or other loan taken against the property, hasn t been
paid. Repossession generally occurs as a result of mortgage arrears, (owed money) which build up
if you don t or can t pay off your mortgage at times when your payment is due. Before repossession
proceedings begin, it will be up to your mortgage lender to explore all other avenues available to
help you repay your loan. If they cannot come to an agreement with you, they are free to begin
repossession proceedings. Once the lender has repossessed your home it will almost certainly be
sold on in order to recoup their lost costs.
The Stages of House Repossession
Here, we ll break down the stages of house repossession step by step in order to give some some
idea of what to expect so you re not caught off guard and are prepared for every eventuality.

Didion s Some Dreamers of the Golden Dream
In Some Dreamers of the Golden Dream, the author Didion uses fiery imagery to parallel the San
Bernardino Valley to hell. It is a place where the
hills blaze up spontaneously, and every voice seems a scream. (p.3) Didions hellish descriptions of
the geography reflect the culture of San Bernardino
Valley. It is where the hot wind blows and the old ways do not seem relevant, where the divorce
rate is double the national average. (p.4) In this culture, the importance of the old ways, such as a
long lasting marriage, are devalued. It is a society where the dream [is] teaching the dreamers how

Edward Foley, a man only looking to benefit himself, shows no respect or regard for the Lucille
Miller tragedy. Two people are killed and one person is sent to an institution for life; yet, Edward
Foley tries to utilize this opportunity to make money for himself. Another example of a depreciation
of societys principles is the scene for
Lucille Millers murder case trial. College girls camped at the courthouse all night, with stores of
graham crackers and No Cal. Also, identification disks were issued to the first forty three spectators
in line. (p.20) The trial is described not as a practice of law but as a sporting event. Just as there are
hot dog vendors at a sports game, there are stores of graham crackers and No
Cal at the trial. Also, Didions use of the word spectators suggests that the people inside the
courtroom are looking upon the trial like a sports game.
Didion later refers to the courtroom seats as the spectators section. (p.25) A sporting event is not
taken seriously. Therefore, Didions comparison of the trial to a sports game undermines the
seriousness of law and order in the San
Bernardino society. She implies that a self seeking and avaricious culture results in chaos.
Lucille Miller is a prime example of an individual affected by the narcissistic culture.. Lucille, a
woman motivated by love and greed (p.22) does whatever is necessary to get what she wants. First,

The Effects Of Beauty Standards On Body Image
The Effects of Beauty Standards
Understanding the effects of beauty standards to both men and women requires research of both
sexes and different orientations in regard to the influence the media has on them. While cultural
standards contribute to beauty standards, media carries most of the responsibility for swaying
public opinion of attractiveness. In order to find an answer as to why certain beauty standards
currently exist, one must examine the root cause: media.
Literature Reviewed
First Group of Studies Media and Body Image. In order to prevent continued negative effects on
body image by the media, it has been suggested that images that have been changed need to have
labels to prevent body dissatisfaction (Slater et al., 2012). Wang et al. (2010) provided evidence
that both men and women attempt to appear like the people portrayed in magazines. Men were
influenced by health and sports magazines, whereas women attempted to look like the models in
entertainment and fashion magazines (Wang, 2010). Participants in the Slater et al. (2012) study
showed that warning labels may help prevent the negative effects of media images, as they portray
an unrealistic ideal for the human body (Slater et al., 2012; Wang, 2010).
Second Groups of Studies Body Dissatisfaction. The development of removing pubic hair is caused
by body dissatisfaction, which relates to one s choice, physical attractiveness, and other key themes
(Braun et al., 2013). Originally a norm for Anglo/Western

The U.s. Pharmaceutical Industry
The U.S. pharmaceutical industry is continuously growing and profiting. How these industries
profit and grow in the current status of the American business is caused by various factors such as
demand of the citizens, change in marketing and competition. To understand how the factors added
to the increase in profit and growth of the pharmaceutical industries, we need to know how it was

In an article written by Robin Walsh for Pharmaphorum the history of pharmaceutical industries can
be seen as a multi stage development. One of it is the root of the pharmaceutical industry lying back
with apothecaries and pharmacies that offers traditional remedies as far back as the Middle Ages.

Evangelism Is A Vital Aspect Of Church Work
Evangelism is a vital aspect of church work. Without evangelism, the church cannot grow. The
word itself describes the idea of reaching out and converting people to Christ. Unfortunately, we
have lost sight of this noble goal. The command of our Savior to go into all of the world and
preach the gospel is often taught, but rarely followed (Matt. 28:19 20; Mark 16:15 16). Poor
teaching and faulty approaches to outreach are responsible for this. We must remedy these
problems in order for the church of our Lordto grow as God desires. Remedying the problems that
the church faces is not easy. They are deeply rooted and people will create road blocks to
solutions. Our first approach to solving these issues rests in education. How effective will an
evangelistic campaign be if the members are not trained? People will only do as well as they are
taught and challenged; therefore, we needto formulate a solid educational program relating to
evangelism. The first phase of this is teaching members where evangelism starts: in the church
itself. Church evangelism starts with members fellowshipping outside of the building and showing
concern for their brothers and sisters. We cannot reasonably expect any campaign to be successful
without the members being close knit. The community needs to see the congregation exhibit a
family like environment. Our members should feel like their spiritual families are closer to them
than their physical families. The goal for the congregation should be

Patrick Lencioni s The Five Temptations Of A CEO
The fable, The Five Temptations of a CEO by Patrick Lencioni, is about a man named Andrew
who was promoted to the CEO position of a technology company a year ago and in the morning
he has a board meeting to discuss how the company has been doing during the last year under his
direction. When traveling home on the subway that night he meets the janitor, Charlie, who tells
him about the five temptations of a CEO and how he can avoid falling victim to them if he hasn
t already. The reason for me choosing this book was because of the name. Being the CEO of any
company is a prestigious honor as well as a huge accomplishment in life, but what I was most
intrigued about were the temptations most CEO s fall victim to during their careers. Maybe
after reading this it can help me avoid these common mistakes. When we first see Andrew in his
office, he is very nervous about his company board meeting the next morning, because it makes a
full year of him being CEO and he has to explain how the company has been operating in the past
year when he knows that is hasn t be preforming at its best. Instead of leaving work as his usual

The Reasoning And Significance Of The Emancipation...

History 101
08 November 2017
President Abraham Lincoln was a bold individual who acted on what he felt was ethically
correct. Despite congress being against his wishes, he did not waiver in what he believed in. This
courage is very difficult to find even to this day. This was a time when the country was at war.
President Lincoln had just lost his son Willie to typhoid in February of 1862. (CivilWar.Org Staff
2017) When everything seemed to be going wrong President Lincoln committed an act that would
make him known for all time. Throughout this essay, an understanding of the reasoning and
significance of the proclamation that was developed by an individual [President Lincoln] that was

President Lincoln proposed the proclamation to his cabinet in 1862, but a majority of the members
had concerns that the decision to move forward would be too drastic. As stated before it was
Lincoln s dedication to his ethical values and not giving up on his pursuit for a better America.
The Battle of Antietam (also known as Sharpsburg) stopped the pursuit of the Confederate Army
trying to enter into Virginia and is known as one of the bloodiest one day battles in America.
(NPS.gov Staff 2017) On 17 September 1862 23,000 soldiers were killed, wounded or missing
after twelve hours of savage combat. (NPS.gov Staff 2017) This battle helped President Lincoln
gain support for the Emancipation Proclamation. Even though the battle was deemed a draw and
no winner was declared. The Secretary of State William Seward proposed to Lincoln that the
Union should look at the battle as a victory and be used as a reason for the proclamation to be
enforced and issued the proclamation five days

Notes On Leadership And Management
Leadership versus Management
1. Define Management.
Management is the organizational process that includes strategic planning, setting; objectives,
managing resources, deploying the human and financial assets needed to achieve objectives, and
measuring results. Management also includes recording and storing facts and information for later
use or for others within the organization.
Management is the process of reaching organizational goals by working with and through people
and other organizational resources.
There are three main characteristics that management focus on: It is a process or series of
continuing and related activities, involving and concentrating on reaching organizational goals, and
reaching the goals by working with and through people and other organizational resources.
2. Define Leadership. Leadership is the ability of an individual or a group of individuals to
influence and guide followers or other members of an organization. Leadership involves making
sound (and sometimes difficult) decisions, creating and articulating a clear vision, establishing
achievable goals and providing followers with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve these
goals. Leadership is the ability of a company s management to make sound decisions and inspire
others to perform well. Effective leaders are able to set and achieve challenging goals, to take swift
and decisive action even in difficult situations, to outperform their competition, to take calculated

The American Value of Asking Questions
I.BACKGROUND
Culture shock is the unavoidable byproduct of someone experiencing a new culture for the first
time. A particularly acute form of culture shock is felt by international students studying abroad
every day. For the Chinese students studying in America, they face a large number of problematic
instances of culture shock which impact their ability to earn a quality education in the United States
such as classroom culture. Specifically, Chinese students make a point not to ask questions in and
out of the classroom because of how they were raised. In an article posted to Indiana University s
student orientation website ( 3 Big Differences, 2013), school administrators note that Chinese
students are taught to remain quiet in class because they have been trained not to speak their minds
and not to raise any conversation that has an opposite or different opinion to the instructor s teach.
The unified mindset that pervades much of Chinese society possesses numerous flaws including
students inability or extreme apprehension at asking questions for what it might say about them.
II.ARGUMENT
While the Chinese education system might be structured to deal with this kind of thinking in the
classroom, Chinese students learning in American classrooms face the looming challenge of not
getting left behind. I have chosen to focus both on the reasoning behind many Chinese students not

African American Inequality In Literature
Inequality in America is expressed in many ways, for example literature and media. Today, I d like
to focus on American Literature of African American inequality through Narrative Identity.
Narrative can be expressed as a basic human strategy for coming to terms with fundamental
elements of our experience, such as time, process, and change. While Narrative Identity is
identified as is the study of the distinctive nature of narrative and its various structures, elements,
uses, and effects. (Course Notes). I have chosen three authors who expressed their views of racial
inequality through poems and short stories. Frederick Douglas, Zora Neale Hurston, and Langston
Hughesare all African Americandescendants who have personally experienced inequality in
American and has chosen to express their experiences in American Literature. Even though these
authors have shared experiencing inequality, they are all different because of the time in which
their experienced occurred.
Frederick Douglas a former slave later to remembered as a hero, wrote a book about his life
called The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglas. In this narrative Frederick Douglas
expresses how African Americans were treated during this time. He goes into detail about his
experiences from an illiterate lost young boy to a self educated confident grown man. Frederick
Douglas was born into slavery 1818. He among many other slaves have no recognition of their
origin. I was born in Tuckahoe, near

Essay The Iron Triangle and Heclo s Policy of Issue Networks
Heclo s policy of issue networks is a new way of dealing with the connection between politics
and its administration. Previously, the Iron Triangle was the way that the connection was dealt
with. The Iron Triangle concept described the major players as congress, career bureaucrats and
large interest groups. It was said that the groups had a give and take kind of relationship and
eventually led to a reasonably easy way to create policy while somewhat satisfying each of the
groups. Basically, the Congress passes laws, Bureaucrats implement the laws and the interest
groups support the congress. However Heclo describes the new way of doing business in
Washington. Heclo does not say the Iron Triangle theory is wrong he just says that... Show more

Heclo describes these groups as varied and operating on many different levels. We may have a
small group that is very vocal and show up at meetings but do not reflect the majority of people.
We may have a professor or expert who is called by legislators for advice or to clarify some part
of policy. Also, people are more involved and well read on issues and understand the issues more
completely. There are a few problems with this way of doing things and we can look at the
Reinventing School Lunch policy to see how this system can be effective and also cause some
delays and problems. The original goal of the food lunch program was to feed malnourished
school children and to help farmers by buying up some of their extra crops and commodities.
This program worked well for 50 years and was a popular and accepted program. In the 1990 s
the program was looked at and it was determined to look at and reinvent the school lunch
program. There were many players in this reinvention and we have Helen Haas who is the head
of the food and nutrition services. She is the lady who develops a feud with the School food
service association. There are also other players in the story including, school food workers, parent
and teacher groups, the farmers, dietary advocacy groups, the dairy council, meat council, and
various health groups. The

Grease Movie Analysis
I watched the film Grease which was directed by Randal Kleiser. This film took place at Rydell
High which was full of fun, crazy students. In the beginning, Sandy Dumbrowski who was the
new girl in school arrives at school. She explains how over the summer she and a boy named
Danny Zuko had a brief love affair. However, it turns out he is a leader of a greaser gang, the T
Birds. Sandy tells her new classmates about how sweet Danny was and how he was different
from other boys, but she doesn t know that he lies and make stories up about their relationship to
his friends. From watching the film, you can easily tell that the kids at Rydell High have to deal
with many issues. Some of the issues would be having relationship issues, teen pregnancy,
dropping out of school, and friendship problems. In the end, Sandy and Danny compromise their
differences with each other and their friends and end up being together and being happy. The
medium of performance is film and the production company of this film was RSO Records. In the
film, there were many restored behaviors. Some of the restored behaviors that I could identify were
the characters going to school, gossiping, and having sex. Every action that the characters did was a
restored behavior because their actions were things that many high schoolstudents do everyday.
Another example of a restored behavior in the film could be when Danny and Sandy went on a
date and they ate at the diner. Eating is an action that is done by

Temple Grandin Reflection
This film was based on a real person, Temple Grandin, who be diagnosed with autism when she
was four years old. Temple s mom worked very hard to teach her language, basic living and
social skills; and she be sent to schools to receive an education like other children. One of her
high school teachers, Dr. Carlock, not only taught Temple science knowledge, but also guided
Temple to view herself more positively. He taught Temple to view changes in her life as
different doors, and all she needs to do is go through. Temple kept using that measure when she
faced challenges. Before she went to university, Temple found out she like to work with animals
in her aunt s farm. She also tried to use a machine, which farmers used to calm cows, to help
herself relax. Later, when she felt stressful in university, she built a similar machine to calm
herself. In order to keep and use that machine in her room, Temple created her own science
experiment which proved that her machine could benefit other people. She also made friend with
her roommate. After graduated from university, Temple continued to engage in animal research.
She completed her master degree, and designed facilities for feedlots and slaughterhouses. When
she visited national meeting with her mom in 1981, Temple made public speech and shared her
personal experiences with others. The story in this film goes through the end of the asylum era
(between the 1870s to the 1960s), and parts of the post asylum era in history (2). In the

Classical Utilitarianism In The Meatpacking Factory
Question #2: The Meatpacking Factory
According to classical utilitarianism, we must allocate the total amount of happiness among as
many people as possible (Pojman, 218). When analyzing whether to allow the Islamic employees
the right to pray on break, utilitarians may argue that allowing Islamic employees, who only make
up 20% of the factory population, the right to pray is a decision that focuses on the minority as
opposed to what is best for the majority. Furthermore, there is evidence that allowing Islamic
employees to take flexible breaks hinders the factory s productivity, which damages profits, and in
turn, hurts not only the factory employees but also the shareholders in the company. Additionally,
the issue is also forming tensions between the Islamic and non Islamic employees. For all these
reasons, utilitarians could argue that it is better for the majority if Windham did not allow the
Islamic workers to pray during work. However, this is an incomplete argument because it fails to
account for the potential consequences. Should Windham choose to violate the agreement he has
established with the Islamic workers, he runs the risk of being sued for violating his agreement with
the Islamic employees. Furthermore, Windham risks external organizations becoming involved
because he is violating the workers rights to practice their faith. Both of these ramifications would
not only hurt his company because of negative publicity but would also hurt key stakeholders
because

The Brazilian National Standards Organization
Corruption in Brazil reduces the financial resources that the government makes available to food
service units (FSUs) and the general public. Before going into its implication, let s start by
defining what food safety is. Then, we will look at the legislations put in place by the government
to regulate fooddistribution in order to protect the population. The Brazilian National Standards
Organization created ISO 22000:2006, where food safetyis described as the indication that the food
will not cause harm to the consumer if it is prepared and/or consumed as intended (Food Safety in
Feeding Services: A Requirement in Brazil, 2013).
The Brazilian government has put in place a number of regulations in order to address the food
safety issues such as the technical regulation of good manufacturing practices for food service
units, which are characterized as places where activities of handling, preparation, fractioning,
storage, distribution, transportation, sale display, and delivery of food prepared for consumption
are carried out (conformity of food services units with legislation, 2015). The main tools of the
regulation along the food chain are Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating
Procedures (SOP), and technical/sequential instructions , which are the framework presented in the
Brazilian legislation RDC 216/2004 (conformity of food services units with legislation, 2015). The

His Everlasting Moment of Intimacy Essay
In the widely acclaimed novel Catching Fire , the fictional character Peeta Mellark is quoted as
saying, I wish I could freeze this moment, right here, right now, and live in it forever. (Collins).
Coincidentally, that is what the unnamed lover in Robert Browning s dramatic monologue
Porphyria s Lover aspires to achieve when he murders his beloved Porphyria, in hopes of preserving
their intimate moment for eternity. At the start of the poem, Browning seemingly shows his
audience a loving, romantic scene of Porphyria affectionately tending her inert beau. As the
dramatic monologueprogresses, it is learned that the originally envisioned romantic love story has
transformed into a disturbing tale of a cruel lover s massacre of his... Show more content on

He does this when he refers to Porphyria in a peculiarly different way after she has died: The
smiling rosy little head, / So glad it has its utmost will, / And I, its love, am gained instead! (52
53, 55). The persona, through synecdoche, addresses his dead lover as only a head and continues
to objectify her by calling her it . The speaker s objectification of his beloved shows how he only
views Porphyria as an object that he owns a mere possession. He also stresses about how
Porphyria has gained him, when in actuality what he really means is that now he finally owns her
forever. This clearly illustrates his outrageous and crazy way of thinking as he fulfills his never
ending moment with Porphyria by murdering her, and diminishes her later into a simple
possession that he could do whatever he wishes to do with. Therefore, Browning makes use of
adept word choices in order to display the persona s extreme possessiveness and irrationality. In
addition, Browning blatantly uses imagery to convey the persona s deliriousness, and obsessiveness
towards his lover. In the poem, Browning noticeably visualizes the events that have just occurred in
the monologue, while at the same time he effectively illustrates the underlying meaning behind its
imagery to reveal the persona s nature. It is visualized in the piece, Blushed bright beneath my
burning kiss; (48). If

Throughout the years, there have been many obstacles that I have had to overcome in order to
attend Johnson Wales University for the past three years on my own. Nearly my entire family came
over from the islands off the coast of Portugal, known as the Azores. The being said, none of my
aunts, uncles, or even my parents have finished grammar school or attended college. My brother was
the first one in our family to attend college and I followed three years later.

Colonoscopy Research Paper
In the past two weeks, I ve had family death and family hospitalized which caused a great amount
of stress on me. My grandfather s oldest brother died a month before his birthday, October 26th.
It left a great deal of pain on my chest as I watched his grandchildren speak about him in ways I
didn t know was possible. Shortly before his death, my grandfather was hospitalized. I became
accustomed to him being hospitalized since it was something unordinary. I didn t expect this visit
to be one of great length, but as usual with visits like these, I was mistaken. September 30th was a
usual day. I came home from school, saw my grandparents and did my homework. Having little to

As someone who is concerned would do, my family and I asked multiple questions concerning the
surgical process. Doctors explained that my grandfather would be having a colonoscopy. A
colonoscopy is an exam used to detect changes or abnormalities in the large intestine. Through
the explanation of this surgery, my grandfather was not too fond of the process. But for his
health, it was necessary. After the surgery had taken place, his colon wasn t awake just yet
because of the high dosage of morphine the surgeons administered to him. The awakening of the
colon is a tedious process he went through. The nurses advised my grandmother and him that a
liquid only diet would be the only nutrients he could receive. Being my grandfather, he became
curious of the wires attached to him. This curiosity resulted in him wearing a nose tube that
caused the liquid diet to terminate. A change this sudden made his body weaker each day. Family
members visited him and noticed his true feelings weren t overtly displayed. My grandmother and
mom became a little irritated with that he wouldn t share how he truly felt to the nurses and
doctors. During this time, my grandmother started to come home during the day and a relative
would stay until about six o clock until she returned. With my uncle being the main person to stay
with my grandfather, he no longer could stay at the hospital. My uncle ended up in a car wreck
which resulted in me staying Monday earlier this

After the death of Charlemagne, the Holy Roman Empire which was created under the power of
Charles would live on for centuries. Louis the Pious was crowned by Charlemagne to become

Louis the Pious, the Holy Roman Empirewas divided amongst Louis three sons; Lothair I, Louis
the German and Charles the Bald, these three kingdoms would then become the foundation of
France and the Carolingian Renaissance. On the death of Louis, a civil war broke out between his
sons Louis the German, Charles the Bald and Lothair I. Lothair I being the last son claimed the

Promoting a Skillful, Safe Cockpit Essay
On a cold February evening in 2009 two years ago, just outside the city of Buffalo, New York, two
pilots crashed a new aircraft on final approach to land into Buffalo Niagara International Airport. In
an effort to prevent an accident of a similar nature from happening, the U.S. Congress passed H.R.
5900 the Airline Safety and Federal Aviation Administration
Extension Act. This bill under Title II
was aimed to enhance airline safety and in part prevent an accident of this nature from occurring
again (U.S. House 2010, 3). Section 217 of bill pushes the minimum hours required to act as a
pilot on a regional carrier up to 1500 total flight hours as well as requires those persons to do an
extensive Air Transport Pilots examination. Although... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Asia s economy is booming and this boom has resulted in the growth of many startup carriers
that offer tax free salaries and free housing. The requirement to fly in Asia is a lot lower than
1,500 and the planes the pilots get to fly are a lot larger, certainly this is a very attractive
opportunity. The potential migration would cause many airlines to have planes but no one
qualified to fly them. Also, with the growing economy more people would have enough money to
fly instead of drive. Therefore, more positions would be available for entry level pilots.
In addition, the cost to become a pilot is already expensive causing low interest; this law would
just make it even worse. By calculation, if a potential pilot were to start today he would be
probably facing a debt of between $50,000 and $80,000 just to receive the flight training required
to gain 250 hours. (ibtimes) Added to this is the cost of attending a college with an accredited
program. Potential pilots could be looking at paying well over $200,000 in loans to be able to
fly. Before pilots were somewhat assured that once they work hard and pass through all the
training received from college and flight school they would be able to become a pilot with one of
the regional carriers and make a small salary until the

of the narrative, discovered that she had keep running over a nail, which means, Dylan had not cut

Mexican Daily Life
Daily Life
There are a variety of common courtesies that Americans should observe when in Mexico. Some of
the important issues of cultural etiquette are described herein. When in Mexico Americans should
refrain from calling themselves Americans. Mexicans consider themselves Americans too since the
whole continent is called America. Another part of Mexican culture that may be shocking to
American s traveling there is the way machismo is verbalized by male members of Mexican
society. Making sexual or derogatory remarks at women is a typical part of the culture and should
not be seen as harassment. Wearing a wedding band and mentioning children usually will stop these

If you do not know if a woman is married or not you should use Senorita followed by her family
name. In oral communications you should use the father s family name only. In written
communications it is appropriate to use the father s family name first followed by the mother s

is very similar to the process used for greetings. The host will walk the guest to the door and the
goodbye will be said with the same procedure as the greeting. If you received a handshake,
abrazo, arm pay or air kiss upon arrival expect the same upon leaving. Etiquette about who initiates
the goodbye is the same as for greetings. It is polite to thank your host for the good time. Gift
giving in Mexico is very similar to gift giving traditions in the United States. When invited to a
Mexican s home, it is considered polite to bring a gift of sweets or flowers. White flowers are a
good choice because they are viewed by Mexicans as uplifting. Red flowers are not appreciated
because they are used when someone is sick. Marigolds should not be given because they
symbolize death. Gift wrapping does not carry any special significance. Gifts are opened
immediately in the presence of those who gave them. It is appropriate to respond enthusiastically.
Gifts are not used very often in Mexican business. However, bringing a small gift from home to a

when he was a baby and tells the story of his journey on the Argos, quest for power, marriage to
Medea, betrayal of his wife, and, eventually, his death. Secondly, the play Euripides wrote, Medea,

Comparing The Stereotypes Of The Gibson Girl
United States is the creator of many of the beauty stereotypes that are active until now such as
Barbie doll, Disney s princess and others. The first American stereotype was the Gibson Girl. It
was created by an American illustrator Charles Dana Gibson. The Gibson girl was the idea of
perfect women in the early XX century until the First World War.
The illustration had appeared in popular magazines, it not only had showed physical ideas, and it
also had represented the behavior and the social status of the perfect American women in that time.
Gibson girls had portrayed the new woman a women who was educated, taking advantage from the
access that women obtained to have secondary and college education; a woman who had more
independence.
The Gibson girl was illustrated like a Caucasian woman, tall and slim with a body in S shape
helped by the corset. The facial features were big eyes and a tiny mouth and nose. The hair also
was very iconic, Gibson girls wore their hair swept up into a twisted bun called chignon showing
the neck. This illustration had represented a woman in an upper social status, elegant and

The Decision Of Diesel And Gas Motors
At the point when Land Rover outlined its exceptionally fruitful Range Rover Evoque premium

It must be built to meet Land Rover s abnormal state of auxiliary unbending nature and torsional

How Does Holden Escape

Huckleberry fakes his own death and then travels in a canoe to Jackson Island in order to

Rhetorical Analysis Of Ronald Reagan s Speech
President, Ronald W. Reagan, in his speech, Explosion of the Space Shuttle Challenger Address
to the Nation, Reagan expresses the grief and loss due to the tragedy that has occurred to the
Challenger. Regan s purpose was to acknowledge the terrible explosion of the Challenger,
witnessed by majority of the people including children and killed all seven crew members:
Michael Smith, Dick, Scobee, Judith Resnik, Ronald McNair, Ellison Onizuka, Gregory Jarvis,
and Christa MC Auliffe; although despite such horrible incident, Regan had insisted that the
nation should continue the space program. He adopts a empathetic and encouraging tone in
order to show his consideration to the victimized families and to promote the continuation of the
space program as a sign of moving forward. Therefore, in Reagan s speech, he conveyed his
empathy and the will to go on with the use of rhetorical devices such as ethos, pathos, allusion,
and anaphora. Reagan had commenced his speech with the use of Pathos, The day Reagan had
given his speech, he proclaimed that it was a day of mourning and remembering (1). Regan has
put into recognition of the tragedy that recently took place, which was the explosion of the
Challenger. Not only that the families of the astronauts were victimized are experiencing the pain,
but the whole nation as a whole for it was a national loss. The country has lost a group of people

The positive impact of the culture is that we can make the guests learn and appreciate more about
tradition with events and make people exchange culture with the local communities. For instance,
the Brazilian Turtle Conservation Program (TAMAR). When it opened in 1982, few tourist were
visiting and it had 500 turtles, but by 2008, there was an impressive growth in the number of
tourists: 600000 each year, and this apparently led to a population (Stronza Pegas, 2008, 270

they become a tourist attraction. Additionally, the rural and the backward areas will learn the
modern culture, their practices of modern society that will help them to come out of their
traditional religious beliefs, morals and important values. (Scientific Review of Physical Culture,
2015, 4). People come from all around the world to the same country with different culture, they
won t really care about it if their surroundings are clean. Hence, the foreign traveler increased the
economy in the local area because of the visit made by the increasing number of guests that arrived

Compare And Contrast Young Goodman Brown And The Lottery
Introduction Nathaniel Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown and Shirley Jackson s The Lottery
both tell stories using literary techniques of tone, symbolism, and irony that help to convey stories
that leave the reader baffled by their ending. Although Hawthorne and Jackson utilize these literary
techniques in a different way, both of the stories end with a sense of darkness.
Tone
Hawthorne and Jackson have set different tones for their stories. Nathaniel Hawthorne creates a
tone that is somber and serious throughout most of the story of Yong Goodman Brown . The story
tells of a man, Goodman Brown, discovering evil. Even though Goodman Brown has
apprehension about going on the journey in the forest, he allows his curiosity to get the best of
him and decides to attend the evil ceremony in the forest. The tone of the story corresponds with
the action occurring in the plot as one of somberness. Brown goes along in his journey expecting
something evil to take place. After learning the nature of evil, he begins to feel that he is constantly
surrounded by evil. This changes his attitude from his background of piety and faith to a dark place
that suspects evil in everything including his wife. Unlike Young Goodman Brown, the tone of The

  • 2. A Woman s Right Of Abortion A Woman s Right to Abortion Roe v. Wade, 1973 On January 22, 1973, the supreme court justices came to a decision about abortion. I am going to start off by giving some general information about the laws passed and other events that have led the abortion laws to where they are now. In 1821, Connecticut passed the first law that restricted abortion in the United States. It prohibited the use of toxins to cause a miscarriage. Back then, women usually didn t know they were pregnant until the baby started kicking inside them or a little bit before. This law made it illegal for women to make themselves miscarry by taking those toxins. In 1873, Anthony Comstock lobbied to pass the Comstock Law which was a law banning, distributing or the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the 1960 s, Pat Maginnis founded the Society for Humane Abortion. She was one of the first people to try to legalize abortion. They thought she was insane, Reagan said. A lady named Sherri Finkbine was a mother of four who lived in Arizona. In 1962, she was denied a request by the hospital for a legal abortion so she traveled to Sweden to get one. She had taken the drug thalidomide, which researchers linked to various birth defects. The hospital withdrew its offer to Finkbine after she told her story to the local newspaper for the purpose of alerting women and soon to be mothers of the dangers of he drug. The publicity she got from the newspaper article threw her into the middle of the world wide debate. In 1969, a few young women in Chicago started an underground system nicknamed Jane. This system helped women find safe and affordable but still illegal abortions. These ladies learned to perform them by themselves. According to a documentary about the group, they completed nearly 12,000 abortions in about 4 years. By the 1970 s, 20 states had passed abortion reform or repeal laws. Alaska, New York, Hawaii, and Washington had legalized abortion. The Supreme Court legalized birth control pills in 1972. This made it legal for all women to have access to birth control pills, no matter what their marital status was. Before this, only married women were allowed to be on birth control pills. They realized that having single woman not on birth ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Similarities Between American Beauty And The American Dream Leading up to the great 2016 American election Bernie Sanders stated that for many the American Dream has become a nightmare . The relevance of this quote is strongly represented in the film American Beauty directed by Sam Mendes and the play The Glass Menagerie written by Tennessee Williams. With The Glass Menagerie being set in the early 30 s, American Beauty just before the turn of the Millennium in 1999 and Bernie quoting the American Dream in recent years, it is obvious that throughout the decades society continues to trap victims into the dangerous illusion that is the American Dream. The two texts explore this idea of the American Dream being unattainable and contrasts reality with dream resulting in self suffocation, disturbance of relationships and the ultimate desperate action, The authors question the American Dream and invite the audience to uncover the reality of the characters voicing the American Dream and their suffocated by their false ideas of happiness. In American Beauty, Lester s wife Carolyn believes strongly in the philosophy that hard work and opportunity is rewarded by status, power and wealth the American Dream. Her belief that wealth equals success consumes her and is expressed in the form of material possessions which she thinks defines her self worth. Her image of success is projected though her clothing and body language. Carolyn is introduced in a scene where she is clipping the roses outside so they look perfect, integrating her fascination ... Liam O Flaherty s Short Story The Sniper By assessing the ongoing situation and constructing a strategy while beleaguered during the Irish Civil War in the enthralling short story The Sniper, Liam O Flaherty reveals to readers the military expertise and prowess of the Irish Republican sniper while amidst combat with the opposing Free Staters. For instance, amidst the fading sky in Dublin, the alert and observant Republican sniper encounters an armored vehicle alongside an informer giving away his position; as a man on the turret begins to take aim, the quick witted sniper raised his rifle and fired. • 5. School Needs Assessment And Community Conversations School needs assessment and community conversations This was definitely a much hard task to complete than I had anticipated from the beginning. The thought by me was some research and I should be able to find then necessary information. However, the simple fact that as a private school system, we do not need to do a lot of these public school state mandated items. I looked for a long while and was finally excited to find a school needs assessment for Wahlert. Two things jumped out at me at as I started to read: 1. the name of the school was Wahlert and not Wahlert Catholic which meant that it was older than 8 years. 2. It was for Wahlert and not Holy Family which meant it predated 2001. The actual date was 1999 and was really no help since a lot of things have changed since then. Further exploration led me to find the math, reading, and science testing data for our system and for Wahlert. Along with that, I was able to find our demographic breakdown for the schools in the system. The information was really basic as I compared it to the Dubuque Community Schools on the same Iowa government website. This did allow me to compare the scores for math, science, and reading between ourselves and the public schools. This was at least so form of community conversation as our local paper published the data as well. Though, most of the time the private schools will be slightly mention or mentioned on another day so as to not lead to comparisons being drawn between the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Unfortunately that hasn t been me, but I have been blessed enough to be able to travel to Boston, Massachusetts and Orlando, Florida. I ve been to other locations before in my life but I would put the mark down on these areas where I actually enjoyed myself. • 8. Why Drawing Is Drawing A person can have many skills, whether it be good or bad. Someone could paint really well or could be a disastrous cook. There are many common skills such as doing underwater handstands and then there are skills that are absolutely out of the blue, for example bending their index finger backwards down the wrist. My skillisn t too common though it isn t very unique either. My skill isn t painting or cooking, or even having strangely, stretchy fingers. My skill is drawing. Drawing is one of my passions, because it is a good stress reliever and it can help express emotion. Drawing is very useful for when I m upset and need something to boost my moralemood and is comforting for just a normal, rainy day activity. I especially draw especially when I m bored or trying to pass time. Some people agree, and find drawing fun, but others may find it frustrating or boring. I enjoy drawing because it lets me work at my own pace. I casually sketch, whether it be for a novel or just a plain doodle, I find a way to maneuver it into random pieces of work. I could be working on notes, and sooner or later have a mural on the sides of the paper. This is funny considering that when I get an actual sketching pad, the sketches look horrible, but on a sheet of scratched up... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I will admit, drawing is hard when you first attempt it, but drawing is made up of building blocks. You start out with a pencil sketch, and start adding new edits and textures to make it more and more vivid and detailed. I don t usually color drawings because they look better to me in mono, but that gives me a chance to make the tiny details in the drawing a lot bigger. Drawing may come as a gifted skill to some people where they can draw perfectly when a pencil is given to them, but I find it hard to believe that without practice, a magnificent piece of art can be ... • 9. The Scream In this essay I will be analyzing two works of art using aesthetics as a basis of judgment. Also I will be examining and critiquing these two great works of art. Furthermore, I will be using the four part process of the method in critiquing artwork which is understood to be describing, analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating. The works of art I have chosen to like is The Screamby Edvard Munch. According to Khan Academy Munch created four forms of this art work, the first was created in 1893 painting in oil, tempera and pastel on cardboard. The second and third in 1893 and 1895 both in pastels and last 1910 was done in tempera. The piece I will be writing about is located at The National Gallery, Oslo, New York and is 36 x 28 7/8 . Moreover, the uncomfortable feeling the painting makes you feel as the three images in the center stares directly back at you. His use of that psychic line is uncanny and very disturbing and I can t help but to feel I hate this painting. Picasso uses sharp angular shapes and forms with the neutral color black as it appears he painted the head of the woman s image located on the top right hand corner of the canvas where it seems he blotted and smeared paint on the canvas to represent his meaning of deformity. Every other image is defined with geometric shape and this effect in my view causes the painting to be unbalanced. His use of the elements and principles were ignored or not present, he used shading that was irregular on his forms which caused the effect of confusion on where the direction of light was coming from. Patrick Frank writes, in Artforms, Although some art historians decry this work s negative depiction of women, viewers are challenged by the paintings hacked out shapes and overall intensity (401). This makes my point of if a painting has no meaning or a painting without a clear meaning to it will mostly lead to confusion and more time than not it will lead the viewer to a feeling of ... • 10. Social Media Communication Essay Social media is one of the main ways of communication. This generation uses social media to do a majority of their communication. There are many things to think about when communicating with social media. Also when running a company such as J L heating and air I want my customers to perceive my company as being respectful. When responding to emails I want my customers to get a very prompt response. Sometimes email is the only impression the customer may have of the company, it defiantly needs to be a great first impression. Below are the rules that our company will be abiding by. Don t write in all caps. When writing in all caps it appears that you are yelling at the audience or person you are talking to. Being aware of how you may come off to the person you are communicating with is very important. Writing in all caps can feel very rude. This is also considered disrespectful. Check grammar. Checking grammar before posting or sending an email can make you appear more intelligent. Your audience will be more likely to take you serious if your grammar is correct. This also makes customers feel that if you are uneducated in grammar then what other areas of your skill set are you uneducated in. Don t say anything you wouldn t say to anyone s face. People generally seem to feel more confident and say things they would never say to someone s face while sitting behind a keyboard. There are defiantly more appropriate was to handle situations than cowardly hiding behind a keyboard. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Building Blocks In my classroom, I plan to have pencils and paper in every center so that the children will have the opportunity to write at all times. With the writing and art centers, the children will be able to create works of art such as stories, pictures, writing their names, and other works of art that they would like. In the writingand art centers, the possibilities are endless as to what the children can create and they are able to use their imagination, fine motor skills, all while working on communicating their thoughts and ideas onto paper. The reason I chose building blocks/construction center for my classroom is because the children get to have a hands on experience to learn through. Building blocks help with the cognitive development in preschoolers, and they can also use their own imaginations to create a masterpiece. With blocks, children are also able to learn about the different shapes, sizes, colors, and ways of making patterns and comparing one object to another.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 12. What Happens During A House Repossession Essay What Happens During a House Repossession Repossession is always a last case scenario, with most other options generally considered before any court will give a lender the right to repossess your home. However, it does happen, and if you feel it might happen to you then you re probably going to want a little guidance regarding what happens, when it happens, why it happens and how you can make the process as painless as humanely possible. What is Repossession? Repossession is a legal process in which a lender (the bank more often than not) takes back ownership of a property because a mortgage, or other loan taken against the property, hasn t been paid. Repossession generally occurs as a result of mortgage arrears, (owed money) which build up if you don t or can t pay off your mortgage at times when your payment is due. Before repossession proceedings begin, it will be up to your mortgage lender to explore all other avenues available to help you repay your loan. If they cannot come to an agreement with you, they are free to begin repossession proceedings. Once the lender has repossessed your home it will almost certainly be sold on in order to recoup their lost costs. The Stages of House Repossession Here, we ll break down the stages of house repossession step by step in order to give some some idea of what to expect so you re not caught off guard and are prepared for every eventuality. Remember that until step 6 there are still options available to you to delay or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Didion s Some Dreamers of the Golden Dream Essay examples Didion s Some Dreamers of the Golden Dream In Some Dreamers of the Golden Dream, the author Didion uses fiery imagery to parallel the San Bernardino Valley to hell. It is a place where the hills blaze up spontaneously, and every voice seems a scream. (p.3) Didions hellish descriptions of the geography reflect the culture of San Bernardino Valley. It is where the hot wind blows and the old ways do not seem relevant, where the divorce rate is double the national average. Edward Foley, a man only looking to benefit himself, shows no respect or regard for the Lucille Miller tragedy. Two people are killed and one person is sent to an institution for life; yet, Edward Foley tries to utilize this opportunity to make money for himself. Another example of a depreciation of societys principles is the scene for Lucille Millers murder case trial. College girls camped at the courthouse all night, with stores of graham crackers and No Cal. Also, identification disks were issued to the first forty three spectators in line. (p.20) The trial is described not as a practice of law but as a sporting event. Just as there are hot dog vendors at a sports game, there are stores of graham crackers and No Cal at the trial. Also, Didions use of the word spectators suggests that the people inside the courtroom are looking upon the trial like a sports game. Didion later refers to the courtroom seats as the spectators section. (p.25) A sporting event is not taken seriously. Therefore, Didions comparison of the trial to a sports game undermines the seriousness of law and order in the San Bernardino society. She implies that a self seeking and avaricious culture results in chaos. Lucille Miller is a prime example of an individual affected by the narcissistic culture.. Lucille, a woman motivated by love and greed (p.22) does whatever is necessary to get what she wants. First, she has an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. The Effects Of Beauty Standards On Body Image The Effects of Beauty Standards Understanding the effects of beauty standards to both men and women requires research of both sexes and different orientations in regard to the influence the media has on them. While cultural standards contribute to beauty standards, media carries most of the responsibility for swaying public opinion of attractiveness. In order to find an answer as to why certain beauty standards currently exist, one must examine the root cause: media. Literature Reviewed First Group of Studies Media and Body Image. In order to prevent continued negative effects on body image by the media, it has been suggested that images that have been changed need to have labels to prevent body dissatisfaction (Slater et al., 2012). Wang et al. (2010) provided evidence that both men and women attempt to appear like the people portrayed in magazines. Men were influenced by health and sports magazines, whereas women attempted to look like the models in entertainment and fashion magazines (Wang, 2010). Participants in the Slater et al. (2012) study showed that warning labels may help prevent the negative effects of media images, as they portray an unrealistic ideal for the human body (Slater et al., 2012; Wang, 2010). Second Groups of Studies Body Dissatisfaction. The development of removing pubic hair is caused by body dissatisfaction, which relates to one s choice, physical attractiveness, and other key themes (Braun et al., 2013). • 15. The U.s. Pharmaceutical Industry The U.S. pharmaceutical industry is continuously growing and profiting. How these industries profit and grow in the current status of the American business is caused by various factors such as demand of the citizens, change in marketing and competition. To understand how the factors added to the increase in profit and growth of the pharmaceutical industries, we need to know how it was founded and industrialized. In an article written by Robin Walsh for Pharmaphorum the history of pharmaceutical industries can be seen as a multi stage development. One of it is the root of the pharmaceutical industry lying back with apothecaries and pharmacies that offers traditional remedies as far back as the Middle Ages. The spread of rationalism and experimentation is a scientific revolution that occurred in the 17th century and increased the profit of pharmaceutical industries. • 17. Evangelism Is A Vital Aspect Of Church Work Evangelism is a vital aspect of church work. Without evangelism, the church cannot grow. The word itself describes the idea of reaching out and converting people to Christ. Unfortunately, we have lost sight of this noble goal. The command of our Savior to go into all of the world and preach the gospel is often taught, but rarely followed (Matt. 28:19 20; Mark 16:15 16). Poor teaching and faulty approaches to outreach are responsible for this. We must remedy these problems in order for the church of our Lordto grow as God desires. Remedying the problems that the church faces is not easy. They are deeply rooted and people will create road blocks to solutions. Our first approach to solving these issues rests in education. How effective will an evangelistic campaign be if the members are not trained? People will only do as well as they are taught and challenged; therefore, we needto formulate a solid educational program relating to evangelism. The first phase of this is teaching members where evangelism starts: in the church itself. Church evangelism starts with members fellowshipping outside of the building and showing concern for their brothers and sisters. We cannot reasonably expect any campaign to be successful without the members being close knit. The community needs to see the congregation exhibit a family like environment. The American Value Of Asking Questions UWP23 Yanbo Yang Paper 4 Mini Research Paper The American Value of Asking Questions I.BACKGROUND Culture shock is the unavoidable byproduct of someone experiencing a new culture for the first time. A particularly acute form of culture shock is felt by international students studying abroad every day. For the Chinese students studying in America, they face a large number of problematic instances of culture shock which impact their ability to earn a quality education in the United States such as classroom culture. Specifically, Chinese students make a point not to ask questions in and out of the classroom because of how they were raised. In an article posted to Indiana University s student orientation website ( 3 Big Differences, 2013), school administrators note that Chinese students are taught to remain quiet in class because they have been trained not to speak their minds and not to raise any conversation that has an opposite or different opinion to the instructor s teach. The unified mindset that pervades much of Chinese society possesses numerous flaws including students inability or extreme apprehension at asking questions for what it might say about them. II.ARGUMENT While the Chinese education system might be structured to deal with this kind of thinking in the classroom, Chinese students learning in American classrooms face the looming challenge of not getting left behind. • 31. Classical Utilitarianism In The Meatpacking Factory Question #2: The Meatpacking Factory According to classical utilitarianism, we must allocate the total amount of happiness among as many people as possible (Pojman, 218). When analyzing whether to allow the Islamic employees the right to pray on break, utilitarians may argue that allowing Islamic employees, who only make up 20% of the factory population, the right to pray is a decision that focuses on the minority as opposed to what is best for the majority. Furthermore, there is evidence that allowing Islamic employees to take flexible breaks hinders the factory s productivity, which damages profits, and in turn, hurts not only the factory employees but also the shareholders in the company. Additionally, the issue is also forming tensions between the Islamic and non Islamic employees. For all these reasons, utilitarians could argue that it is better for the majority if Windham did not allow the Islamic workers to pray during work. However, this is an incomplete argument because it fails to account for the potential consequences. Should Windham choose to violate the agreement he has established with the Islamic workers, he runs the risk of being sued for violating his agreement with the Islamic employees. Furthermore, Windham risks external organizations becoming involved because he is violating the workers rights to practice their faith. Before going into its implication, let s start by defining what food safety is. The Brazilian National Standards Organization created ISO 22000:2006, where food safetyis described as the indication that the food will not cause harm to the consumer if it is prepared and/or consumed as intended (Food Safety in Feeding Services: A Requirement in Brazil, 2013). Coincidentally, that is what the unnamed lover in Robert Browning s dramatic monologue Porphyria s Lover aspires to achieve when he murders his beloved Porphyria, in hopes of preserving their intimate moment for eternity. He does this when he refers to Porphyria in a peculiarly different way after she has died: The smiling rosy little head, / So glad it has its utmost will, / And I, its love, am gained instead! (52 53, 55). The persona, through synecdoche, addresses his dead lover as only a head and continues to objectify her by calling her it . The speaker s objectification of his beloved shows how he only views Porphyria as an object that he owns a mere possession. He also stresses about how Porphyria has gained him, when in actuality what he really means is that now he finally owns her forever. This clearly illustrates his outrageous and crazy way of thinking as he fulfills his never ending moment with Porphyria by murdering her, and diminishes her later into a simple possession that he could do whatever he wishes to do with. Therefore, Browning makes use of adept word choices in order to display the persona s extreme possessiveness and irrationality. In addition, Browning blatantly uses imagery to convey the persona s deliriousness, and obsessiveness towards his lover. In the poem, Browning noticeably visualizes the events that have just occurred in the monologue, while at the same time he effectively illustrates the underlying meaning behind its imagery to reveal the persona s nature. For the next hour, I complete my morning routine and finish getting ready for school. After I finish applying my makeup, I pause to look up into the mirror. The requirement to fly in Asia is a lot lower than 1,500 and the planes the pilots get to fly are a lot larger, certainly this is a very attractive opportunity. The potential migration would cause many airlines to have planes but no one qualified to fly them. Also, with the growing economy more people would have enough money to fly instead of drive. Therefore, more positions would be available for entry level pilots. In addition, the cost to become a pilot is already expensive causing low interest; this law would just make it even worse.
