• RSPN AND BTFEC
• Functional management plans for JDNP
and RMNP was established.
• Introduction of environmental studies
curriculum in the only college then,
Sherubtse.
• the creation of four national park systems,
four wildlife sanctuaries and one strict
nature reserve in 1995.

• a national eco-tourism strategy was
developed in 2001
• Maintaining records of the crane

RSPN completes 30 years
Global Leaders Foundation conferred the
“PRIDE OF ASIAAWARD – 2018 ” to
Executive Director of the RSPN on June 20,
2018 during the 2nd Indo-Bhutan Friendship
Summit held in Thimphu, Bhutan

• Mission: To change the mindset of every
Bhutanese to be responsible citizens and
practice sustainable consumption lifestyle by
using available resources most efficiently

for one in celebrating the
joyous occasion of the 60th

Fourth King
•officially registered as a CSO
in the country on 11th
November, 2014
ACHIEVEMENTS
•6,819 volunteers and conducted over 480
cleaning campaigns across the country.
•It currently has 3,689 registered members
across the country
•It has six outreach offices in Mongar, Trongsa,
Tashigang, Samtse, Paro, and Bumthang to
address and look into the waste management
issues
•Codinater in different colleges
•Clean Bhutan working with some government
agencies and instutions
Instead of focusing on awareness-creating
with students, it focuses on educating
trainee teachers on waste management so
that when they start teaching children in
schools across the country,.
National Order of Merit (Gold) from His
Majesty The King on the national day ,2016
•An 18 month project called Waste Management System for
Trashiyangtse Community was also implemented from December
2016. Small Grant Project of UNDP supported the project worth Nu
2.5M.
Clean Bhutan is also working on a project called WOW (Wealth out
of Waste) women association. The project focuses on unemployed
women in Thimphu.

• Since its inception in 1993, BTFEC has
funded 227 projects, including 145
Management Board Grant (MB-Grant) and
82 small projects as of date.
Some of the major projects funded in 2017 are as follows:
• The Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental
Conservation (BTFEC) has provided Nu 28.956
million (M) to four environment conservation projects
that to be implemented between July 2017 and June
2020
• Samazingkha Agro-forestry Project
• Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary
• Environmental Science in Classes XI and XII
• Zero Waste Projects

RSPN completes 30 years Global Leaders Foundation conferred the “PRIDE OF ASIAAWARD – 2018 ” to Executive Director of the RSPN on June 20, 2018 during the 2nd Indo-Bhutan Friendship Summit held in Thimphu, Bhutan
  • 10. • Vision: Zero Waste Bhutan by 2030 • Mission: To change the mindset of every Bhutanese to be responsible citizens and practice sustainable consumption lifestyle by using available resources most efficiently History •5th February 2014 •initially established as a cause for one in celebrating the joyous occasion of the 60th Birth Anniversary of our Fourth King •officially registered as a CSO in the country on 11th November, 2014 ACHIEVEMENTS •6,819 volunteers and conducted over 480 cleaning campaigns across the country. •It currently has 3,689 registered members across the country •It has six outreach offices in Mongar, Trongsa, Tashigang, Samtse, Paro, and Bumthang to address and look into the waste management issues •Codinater in different colleges •Clean Bhutan working with some government agencies and instutions
  • 11. Instead of focusing on awareness-creating with students, it focuses on educating trainee teachers on waste management so that when they start teaching children in schools across the country,. National Order of Merit (Gold) from His Majesty The King on the national day ,2016 •An 18 month project called Waste Management System for Trashiyangtse Community was also implemented from December 2016. Small Grant Project of UNDP supported the project worth Nu 2.5M. Clean Bhutan is also working on a project called WOW (Wealth out of Waste) women association. The project focuses on unemployed women in Thimphu.

WWF an international NGO founded in 29th April 1961. working in more than 100 countries, supporting around 1,300 conservation and environmental projects The immediate aspects of this approach include developing detailed protected area management plans, integrating conservation and development in biological corridors and species monitoring. The longer-term strategy focuses on education, climate change monitoring and adaptation, creation of conservation areas (park and RAMSAR, sites), developing human resource capacity and sustainable financing for protected areas (WWF Bhutan, 2017).
