WHAT IS A ROLE MODEL?
• A role models is a person whose behavior ,
example or success is or can be emulated
by others ,especially by younger people.
• A role model is someone who inspires
others to imitate his or her good behavior.
WHO CAN BE A ROLE MODEL?
• Young people perceive a range of individuals
as potential role models, including celebrities
and other famous people, family members,
adult community members, teachers peers.
QUALITIES OF A GOOD ROLE MODEL:
1. Passion and ability to change the
things:
• Role model show passion for their work.
• And have a qualities that inspires others.
• And have a ability to change the things.
2.CLEAR SET OF VALUES
• Your values are the things that you
believe are important in the way you
live and work.
3.Commitment to community.
• They are usually active in their
communities , freely giving
of their time and talents to
benefit people.
4.Ability to overcome obstacles
• Role model should have the
ability to overcome
Obstacles.
• Try to remove all hurdles.

THE IMPORTANCE OF ROLE MODELS:
• Role models are highly important for helping to guide
us through life during our development decision.
• Role model should be someone hard working,
creative, free thinking.
WILLIAM SLIM –AS A ROLE MODEL FOR
PEACE AND WAR
• William slim is both politician and commander.
• In his account of the victorious Burma campaign, he set out his approach
to leadership.
• He is loved by his army more than any commander.
• In 14th army ,he was defeated and isolated.
• Troops called themselves ‘the forgotten army’.
• So , he sat down quietly to think that how to raising their morale , he reached
the conclusion that morale needed three foundations:
1. Spiritual
2.Intellectual
3.Material
• Slim saw that to instill a sense of mission into half a million men , was by a direct
approach ,not by written form or wireless talks but by informal talk , contacts between
troops and commanders.
• He doing as many as three or four such speeches in a day , he convince the troops that
victory over the Japanese was possible , so he adopted some approaches that is A
process through which the men learned the ways of the jungle and develop the ability to
move through it with confidence to against the enemy.

defeated.

British soldiers.
