Pursuing A Law Degree During My Sophomore Year Of College
I first acquired an interest in pursuing a law degree during my sophomore year of college. In
order to prepare myself, I chose to major in criminal justice, with the intention of becoming a
defense attorney. During my senior year, I decided that I did not want to go to law school directly
after college. Shortly after graduation, I moved to New York Cityand explored other career options.
However, I remained open to a career in law. Moving to New York City from Miami broadened my
view of the world, and was challenging. Some of those challenges, that I overcame, enabled me to
realize my potential as an advocate and a lawyer.
When I first moved to New York City, I transferred locations with my current employer and I also
pursued modeling. I successfully acquired non exclusive contracts with multiple agencies and
booked jobs directly with companies. Some of the most memorable moments of my lifetime
occurred when I modeled. I had dynamic travel experiences, met some of my favorite celebrities,
and was exposed to the entertainment industry. On the other hand, sometimes it was necessary to
advocate on my own behalf; this reignited my desire to attend law school. For instance, there was an
incident with an agent who booked me for a promotional modeling job that was cancelled, and I
was not informed until I arrived at the venue. Consequently, I notified the agent, and requested full
payment from the client. Fortunately, I received full payment, because I took that initiative.

In a large city, full of diverse people, finding a musical performance is not hard to come by. Luckily,
as I was searching online for different performances I ran across The Flex Crew performing at
Skully s music diner. I have been to Skully s once before to watch a folk band perform. The
atmosphere was a lot different than when we saw The Flex Crew. Obviously, the genre of musicwas
a lot different, along with the atmosphere of the crowd. I was very surprised by the number of

more likely to become more risk avers. CEO s with high cash compensation will seek to avoid
risk. I measure cash compensation as the natural logarithm of the salary and the natural
logarithm bonus. Following existing literature (e.g., Guay, 1999; Rajgopal and Shevlin, 2002)
the sensitivity of CEO wealth to stock price is also included as an additional control variables
for CEO risk aversion in the risk taking incentive model. Guay (1999) documents a positive
relationship between firm size and CEO risk taking incentives. I measure firm size as the total
sales at the end of the year. Previous empirical studies show that growth opportunities are also
expected to be positively related to CEO risk taking incentives (Guay, 1999; Rajgopal and
Shevlin, 2002; Coles et al., 2006). Consistent with earlier compensation studies, the market to
book value of assets is used as a proxy for growth opportunities. In contrast, leverage is expected to
be negatively associated with the risk taking incentives (Rogers, 2002). Financial leverage
increases the probability of financial distress increase and, therefore, there is lesser need to provide
the CEO with a risk taking incentive. I utilize the debt ration (book value of debt to book value of

(lesbians) they both possessed very different, yet similar arguments. I found this interesting because
it is a prime example of societies different views on controversial topics. Cheryl and June s articles
contain many differences, similarities and information to be reflected on.
Cheryl s main arguments are that everyone who loves women (whether its romantically, sexually,
platonically, etc.) is a feminist and lesbians are all part of a rebellion. She states, No matter how a
woman lives out her lesbianism she has rebelled against becoming the slave master s concubine,
viz., the male dependent female, the female heterosexual. This gives evidence towards her
argument that lesbians, regardless their intentions are resisting from the constructs that society
wants them to adhere to. June would disagree with this statement, arguing that lesbians aren t
solely out to rebel but are just pursuing their lives freely. Cheryl also points out that there is no
one sort of lesbian and that whether you consider yourself a full blown lesbian or bisexual it doesn
t change the fact that you are resisting against the heterosexual society. This being true, Cheryl
