TASK 1
Question Answer
1. How would you inform team members of the outcomes of continuous improvement proceses?
Mediums to be used in order to inform team members of the outcomes of continuous improvement
processes could be in the form of a soft copy such as e mail, sms, a power point presentation, or an
Intranet platform as well as in the shape of a hard copy like personalised letters and general
newsletters. For outcomes concerning the entire team a staff meeting is to be considered at which any
of the above mentioned media can be used to accomplish and support the outcomes presentation.

TASK 2
Case Study
The problems Mary is facing from when she takes on her new role as a manager in the call centre are a
growingly bad customer service caused by a low working morale. This has been accepted and even
fuelled by the former management as well as staff not willing to take responsibility for their work,
including follow ups on customer complaints. What is taking place here seems like the blame game ,
which refers to everyone pointing their finger to someone else if any issue or complaint occurs. The
staff is being left very insecure about what is expected from them and the specific requirements of
their job. The team leaders are not receptive for suggestions and ideas from the call centre operators
and they actually feel threatened if someone comes up with a better idea, so they refuse to act . Due to
this situation the company has already lost a major client as well as having call centre operators
resigning from their working contracts. Mary has been asked to help improving this situation.
Overlooking the situation in the call centre and Mary s position I would suggest that she has to act
immediately and before even considering any changes on the level of the call centre operators
(operational level), which have been blamed for most of the misery, she has to sit down with the
senior management or the CEO of the company to get really clear on the companies goals.

My Biggest Contribution For The Uconn Community Will Be My...
My biggest contribution to the UConn community will be my fearlessness. I m not afraid of being
proved wrong, I m not afraid of failing, and I m never afraid of proving myself. When I m working at
robotics I don t tell people to solve problems creatively, I actively engage in their discussion and love
playing the devil s advocate. For example, this year when we were brainstorming the best drive train
systems to use for a design challenge they all wanted to do a basic 3x3 system and simply use six
CIMotors instead of the standard four. So, I challenged them. I presented 6 valuable reasons why
mecanum wheels with 4 CIMotors would work way better and then challenged them to tell me why I

when it comes to course directions, techniques, and pitfalls to avoid. But my admittedly disappointing
fitness level means that I get a lot of sass from the freshmen and sophomores I m trying to teach. They
challenge my knowledge base and ability to teach them skills I ve mastered because of my unrelated
fitness level. But every day I go back and I challenge their beliefs; I get on my rollerskis and show
them how my balance, technique, and form are not at all related to my 5k times. I m not afraid of their
judgement or scorn and instead to go and I actively show through my actions that I m not afraid to
prove myself to them. I know what I can and cannot and that s all I need to confidently advise and
correct them while they learn. I m not afraid to teach a doubting mind and I m not afraid of being
challenged where I work. I m fearless, and that s something every community needs. blech Three
experiences in my life truly defined my goal of going into medicine; my injuries, research

Rogers And Psychodynamic Therapy
II: BIOGRAPHY OF ROGERS
On January 8, 1902, Rogers was born in Oak Park, Illinois, a little suburb outside of Chicago. He was
the fourth out of six other children. He was brought up in a home marked by close family ties, a very
strict and uncompromising religious and ethical atmosphere, and what amounted to a worship of the
virtue of hard work. His parents cared a great deal for him and their other children, and they had their
welfare almost constantly in mind. His parents were also, in many subtle and affectionate ways, very
controlling of their children s behavior. Rogers said that it was assumed by them and himself that they
were different from other people no alcoholic beverages, no dancing, cards or theater, very little social
life, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the early years of his theory, it was known as nondirective. Later, his theory was termed client
centered, person centered, student centered, group centered, and person to person. We use the label
client centered in reference to Carl s therapy and the more inclusive term person centered to refer to
Rogerian personality theory (J. Feist, G. Feist, Roberts, 2013, p. 289). The core purpose of the person
centered approach is to actualize tendency (facilitate the personal growth and relationships of an
individual by allowing them to explore and utilize their own strengths and personal identity). A
counselor that uses person centered approach will aid this process and provide support to help their
clients overcome the problems that are dwelling ad affecting their personal development and progress.
Rogers postulated two structures or processes: organismic experiencing and self. Experience refers to
everything potentially available to awareness occurring within the organism at any given time. Both
conscious and unconscious processes are included with these experiences (Fernald, 2000, p.

The Strategies For Multinational Corporation
Three strategies for multinational corporation to react to disruptive innovation
Disruptive innovation(DI) impacts the world and propels society to develop marvelously, Blackberries
were replaced by smartphones, Amazon ships various things to doors, and more people download
books in an instant to Kindles instead of buying books (Gilmartin, 2015). These disruptive innovation
are challenging multinational corporations, and MNCs have to survive by reacting strategically. This
essay are composed by four parts, first part explains definition and features of disruptive innovation,
and the following part states the importance of disruptive innovation. The third part concludes all the
challenges caused by DI, including MNCs face DI in every marketplace, DI is easy to be ignored, high
cost of DI, and MNCs internal barriers of leading DI. The last part criticises and states MNCs
strategies to react to DI, including identifying DI, articulating strategies to develop DI to satisfy
mainstream, and taking advantages of subsidiaries in developing countries to leading DI.
Disruptive innovation (DI) firstly defined by Bower and Christensen(1995) as a process by which a
new product created at the bottom of a market and then relentlessly moves up market, eventually takes
hold of existing market ultimately. According to the definition, disruptive innovation is more
threatening to dominant products and companies because it causes market disturbance and eliminate
existing corporation,

Age Of Exploration Research Paper
Female travelers are rare in the world of exploration. Even though there are hundreds that have
reached the far corners of the earth, they hardly live up to the legends of Columbus, Marco Polo, and
Magellan. Similarly, the so called New World and central America receive more attention in the Age
of Exploration than does the so called Orient, even though the east has existed for much longer than
the west. Travel writing has always been a popular subject. From the first descriptions of new worlds
to the common guidebooks for the everyday tourist, these accounts are windows into other places and
cultures that not everyone can access. There exists a fine line in travel writing between coming off as

knew of West Africa. 1 Most of her friends knew nothing, and the few that had some knowledge
highly discouraged her from going. Most doctors called it the deadliest spot on earth, referencing the
highly contagious and dangerous diseases residing in that region.2 For all intents and purposes, an

Essay Fucus Sprial Research on Water
Coal is found in deeper layers of earth. To retrieve coal from those layers, underground tunnels need to
build. These underground tunnels tend to fill with ground water. To prevent this, steam pumps were
installed to keep the tunnels dry. The groundwater pumped out of the mines is comparatively clean
(Wilkinson 2011, 3).
Once the steam pump is shut off, the underground water is able to fill up the abandoned mine over
years. After all tunnels are filled up, the water finds a way to release itself. This is called natural
drainage water (Wilkinson 2011, 3). In case of the project, this happens through the outfall which is
right above high water spring tide. The water that is released through the outfall is not as clean as the

During spring tide, the tidal amplitude is very large.
The opposite is called neap tide and occurs when sun and moon are at right angles. The gravitational
attractions act in opposition and the tidal amplitude is very low.
7.4 Rocky shore
These shores were shaped by different natural forces. Those forces include the rise and fall of tides,
wind, intensity of waves and variation in temperature. They consist of rocky ledges, boulders and
pebbles. Furthermore, pools with seawater can be found.
Rocky shores can be divided into different zones, according to vertical height. The zones vary in
diversity (see Fig. 6) and most species are adapted to a specific zone (Little 2009, 17).
The top of the shore is bare rock and living organisms such as littorinid snails or lichens can be found
there. This zone is called splash zone as it above high tide mark and therefore perpetually out of water
(Little 2009, 18).
The second zone is called littoral zone (or intertidal) and has its boundaries defined as distance
between very highest and very lowest spring tide. The lower, middle and upper shore are included into
this zone and there is a varying degree of exposure to seawater, depending on the tide. Organisms
living there must be able to cope with fluctuating air and breaking waves. Rock pools and Fucus
spiralis are found in this part of the rocky shore (Little 2009, 18).
The lowest zone is the so called sublittorial zone and

Internet Protocol Is The Primary Protocol
1.Introduction:
Internet Protocol is the primary protocol in the internet layer of the OSI networking model. IP s job is
to deliver packets from a source computer to a destination computer. As of May 2015, about 97% of
web traffic uses IPv4. IPv6 is a 128 bit address. IPV6 is the standard fundamental infrastructure to the
internet addressing. It helps us to simplify the transition from ipv4 to ipv6. Mainly ipv6 helps us in
TCPIP networking and addressing architecture.
The present variant of the Internet convention (IP) is getting to be old as a result of its constrained
location space, absence of required usefulness and insufficient security highlights. The upcoming era
of IP, called IPv6, has now been institutionalized and will convey TCP/IP systems and applications
well into the following century. (Stallings.w , 1996).
Yes I agreed that IPv6 is implemented in the contemporary world. Still some researches and
improvements are going on to fix the problems. In the coming generation we replace IPv4 completely.
IPv6 have more advantages then IPv4 protocol. The world needs more public IP s in the future, IPv4
can t solve this issue. IPv6 is 128bit address which has enough addresses that next generation works.
What is IPv6: According to (Vangie Beal, 2014) IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) is additionally
called IPNG (Internet Protocol Next Generation) and it is the newest form of the Internet Protocol (IP)
IETF standards committee to replace the present version IPv4.

Horniman Horticulture
Background
Horniman Horticulture is a whole sale nursery business that has been owned by Maggie and Bob for
three years. They have seen an increase in business and number of plants grown at the nursery and are
expecting demand to continue to grow. In 2005, the business s profit margin was expected to grow to
5.8% up from 3.1% in 2003. This projected growth seems accurate considering Maggie s conservative
approach with the companies cash balance. Handling the finances, Maggie dislikes debt financing
because of her fear of holding too much inventory and thus not being able to make interest payments.
Since the business relies on good weather conditions with some mature plants taking years to grow,
severe weather can destroy this inventory. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Past 2004, net working capital in 2005 was $97,200 which is 1.6x the net income of $60,800. If they
continue to increase their net working capital like they have in the past, the projected net working
capital for 2006 would be $235,900 which would cause them a negative cash balance of 193,000.
When you look at the balance sheet in Exhibit B we can see that the current assets have increased 19%
and total assets increased 14.4%. This is due primarily to the increase in inventory and accounts
receivable. In the four years from 2002 to 2005 inventory has increased 8.7% and accounts receivable
has increased 16.4%. Due to this, the cash balance has decreased from $120,100 all the way down to
$9,400. In addition in 2005, the cash balance went below their comfort level of $10,000 down to
$9,400. This is not meeting their expectation of their 8% minimum of total revenue target.
Financial Ratio Analysis Even though their business was growing significantly, and they were
experiencing a steady increase in revenues, they were seeing a huge decrease in their cash. The reason
for this is because of their recent change to an increase in business from small nurseries. By looking at
the financial ratios, even though they are increasing in sales, you can tell that they are relaxed on their
accounts receivable and credit terms. Each year it takes them longer to collect their money. This is due
to the fact that the carrying cost of inventory is harder for the

My Goal For Both Immersion Activities
Immersion One
My goal for both immersion activities was to learn more about African American culture, experiences
and history. I hope that by educating myself that it will help to counteract the unintentional biases and
judgements that I have learned from breathing in the racist smog that prevails in our society. I chose to
watch Remember the Titans for my Immersion One activity. I thought this movie would accurately
show the experiences that African Americans have had with racism in the past in our country and that
they also still continue to struggle with today.
I have watched this movie countless times before but this time when I watched it was different than
before. I always knew it was obviously a movie about racism, but I never picked up on tiny parts of
the dialogue and certain scenes stood out as much more significant to me than they have in the past.
For example, at one point in the movie a brick is thrown through Coach Boone s window while his
daughter and Sheryl Yoast are playing in the living room. The next day, Coach Yoast is angry about
what happened. He accuses Coach Boone for it being his fault that the brick was thrown through his
window because of his sins . Coach Boone is very offended by this and points out that he did not do
anything to deserve it and also that maybe now Sheryl has an idea of what his daughters go through
every day of their lives.
This scene reminded me a lot of The Color of Fear and the conversation that Victor and David had

Chinese Education
Chinese Education
The Education system in China although different than America s has many good qualities. The view
of Education in China has changed dramatically over the last forty years; it has gone from there being
no real system to one that is held up to be one of the best in the world. In this paper I will go through
the history of Chinese education and show how much it truly has changed. I will also look at how it is
now and what China can expect for its future. In 1949 The People s Republic of China was formed by
the Communist party. This happened after much struggle between the communists and the nationalists.
The leader of the communist party and the new People s Republic was Mao Zedong. When the

The Chinese educational system is the biggest educational system in the world. There are 330,000,000
students in China! This is greater than the entire population of the United States of America! The
education system goes through grades pre kindergarten (before age 6) to post graduate (2 3 years for
Masters; 2 3 years for Doctorates). The Chinese educational system is not a balanced educational
system. While there are some schools in the cities that can match some of our western countries in
terms of resourcing the vast majority of schools are in the countryside. The Chinese educational
system is a highly competitive educational system. Because of the huge population waiting to be
educated, and the limited space in colleges and universities, entrance to higher educational institutions
must be very competitive. The Chinese educational system is a centralised educational system. The
legislation of education rests not locally or provincially but centrally, with the Ministry.
One of the reasons that the education system has continued to grow and change is because of the help
from foreign countries. The reason for this aid is because the different countries have seen and heard
about the state of education in China. It is because they value education at such a high standard that
they are offering their help. Education is the way to the future. The people who are educated are going
to be the ones that run the country and if foreign

confusing perception of honor, noble idealism, and inner self conflict (15). In his drama about power,

Water is an endless cycle that repeats itself but doesn t necessarily remain drinkable. Rain feeds
vegetation, evaporation occurs, and then returns to rivers, streams, and lakes and may seep into rocks
and caves underground through limestone and into aquifers. It may take many years before it reaches
the surface. Water is a valuable resource that people tend to mishandle and take for granted. Explorers
have dove into the paths underground to trace paths of water that flow deep under homes, streets,
cities, and pastures only to surface a dirty and contaminated pond. Inside these deep paths explorers
have found tires, oil barrels and chemical containers that most people are unaware of. Over 8 billion

nitrates in the aquifer, a major source of drinking water. Water containing nitrates contribute to algae

Nearly half of all water withdrawn for our supply is used only to water lawns and landscaping.

Essay on Aboriginal People of Canada
Aboriginal People of Canada
Over the past decades, Aboriginal people (the original people or indigenous occupants of a particular
country), have been oppressed by the Canadian society and continue to live under racism resulting in
gender/ class oppression. The history of Colonialism, and Capitalism has played a significant role in
the construction and impact of how Aborignal people are treated and viewed presently in the Canadian
society. The struggles, injustices, prejudice, and discrimination that have plagued Aboriginal peoples
for more than three centuries are still grim realities today. The failures of Canada s racist policies
toward Aboriginal peoples are reflected in the high levels of unemployment and poor education. ...

The British were interested in the production and circulation of fur as a commodity in the world
market and were in need of labor. The Indians were the only available source of skilled labor, so they
became part of the production process.
From Colonialization, Capitalism came which resulted in the disintegration of communal and
egalitarian societies that the indigenous created, which in turn, became the exploited labor force in the
commodity production. European ethnocentrism and racism also affected patterns of Aboriginal
socialization. Since most whites viewed all aspects of indigenous life to be culturally and morally
inferior, missionaries made efforts to eliminate the egalitarianism customs of Aboriginal societies and
to promote the norms of the dominant European patriarchal society. The perceived differences
between men and women led to cultural genocide.
Capitalism is an economic and social system that focuses on pursuit of profit. It has also involved the
presence of exchange of goods for money or other goods, and the organization of production and
distribution of goods . One example of this is the Hudson s Bay fur trade. The fur trade of the Hudson

the commodity production of fur (Bourgeault, 41). Capitalism uses market relations (including class

Water Quality And Water Pollution
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background information
Water is an essential resource for life which greatly influences our public and environmental health as
well as providing the pedestal for most of our economic activities. Unsustainable use of fresh water
resources, population increase, and the trend in industrial revolution have led to environmental
degradation especially by the release of partially treated or untreated wastewater into aquatic systems.
Thus, the global freshwater resource is at risk and majority of the problems that humanity faces in the
twenty first century are related to water quantity and/or water quality issues (UNESCO, 2009).
The importance of water for sustenance of life cannot be overemphasized and its depletion of either
through contamination, or careless use results in serious consequences (Owa, 2013). About 70 % of
the earth is covered with water, but hardly 2 % of it is quality for drinking (Mann et al., 2014). The
relative importance of water quality versus water quantity, sanitation and hygiene education
interventions for protecting the population s health has been the subject of considerable debate (Esrey
et al, 1985, 1991). Nevertheless, there is broad agreement that good water quality, free of pathogens
and heavy metals is important to human health.
Water is regarded polluted if some components or condition is existing to such a magnitude that the
water cannot be used for a particular purpose. Water pollution affects flora and organisms

Common Core Education Pros And Cons
It isn t enough that the leftist utopians want to control health care, energy policy through green
environmental control, and banking. Now, big government politicians, like Hillary Clinton, want
control of your child s education through the use of Common Core.
Common Core has been the educational bane of many parents and teachers alike since its inception.
While there are a number of educators, parents, and politicians that support the Common Core
curriculum, that isn t the case with everyone and for good reason. There is more to Common Core

Each state would implement the common educational standards, and they would be awarded points for
each targeted educational policy that the states satisfied. While adoption of the Common Core
program was not specifically required, it doesn t take much of a leap to link the two together.
So, what was the initiative that was offered? It s called Race to the Top, and it is essentially a
competitive grant that was offered by the US Department of Education in the tune of $4.35 billion.
In a book by Samuel Blumenfeld and Alex Newman, Crimes of the Educators: How Utopians Are
Using Government Schools to Destroy America s Children, Blumenthal points to growing levels of
illiteracy, plunging international rankings, the decline of critical thinking skills, mushrooming
decadence, mass shootings, and companies that can t find the skilled workers they need these have

Safe Sex On College Campuses
Trying to choose a theory is never an easy task. In my opinion, there can be a group of six individuals,
each given the task of picking a theory to utilize, and every one of them could potentially pick a
different theory. The reason being, everyone has their own personal experiences and understanding of
what works best, or feels more comfortable executing. With health education, there are many theories
available to choose from, because of that, guidelines were developed. According to Hayden, there are
a total of five theories and they are as followed: 1. Identify the health issue or problem and the
population affected 2. Gather information about the issues or population or both 3. Identify possibly

In my opinion, safe sex on college campuses would not be as much of an issue if practicing safe sex
were promoted more. According to Dr. Berman, only 22 schools in the nation currently require sex
education in schools. It can be understood that this subject is something people believe parents should
cover. However, let s be honest, not all teenagers want to talk about sex in general with their parents.
When the matter is not taken more serious at earlier ages, the behavior and acceptance of having
unsafe sex possibly continues on into adulthood. According to O Sullivan, the practice of unsafe sex is
most commonly due to an individual s lack of knowledge of what safe sex actually mean and what all
is included. They believe that safe sex is just another form of birth control. However, safe sex is not
just a method of birth control, it includes other components, but most importantly, a means of
preventing one from receiving or passing along

How Did The Industrial Revolution Change Working Conditions
Working Conditions and Reforms How did the Industrial Revolution change working conditions?
During the 18th and 19th centuries, a new period called the Industrial Revolution began with societies
which used to be mainly agrarian in Europe and America, becoming industrial and urban. It all started
in Britain with Sir Richard Arkwright who invented a spinning machine, which led to the rise of the
Industrial Revolution. Britain was also the first to experience industrialisation since at the time, there
were huge coal and iron ore deposits in Britain which were necessary for industrialisation. Britain was
also the largest empire at the time and one of the many benefits of being so meant that it could also get
natural resources from elsewhere. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reason behind the peculiar name Luddite is after Ned Ludd, a young apprentice who supposedly
wrecked textile machinery in the late 18th century. Luddites who had dedicated years to their
profession dreaded at the thought of untrained machine operators taking over their jobs. After being
rejected for government aid and assistance, hopeless Luddites raided factories and damaged machines
with the first notable instances being recorded in Nottingham in 1811. The practise soon expanded
across the whole of England with the Luddites arming themselves with sledgehammers and sometimes
even exchanged gunfire with the company guards and soldiers. Luddites even issued manifestos and
alarming letters under the name of General Ludd whose orders they were following apparently.
Instead of banning weaving machines which is what the Luddites hoped, the British Government
enacted laws which made machine breaking punishable by death. The Luddites reached their climax in
April 1812, when a few of them were gunned down during a raid on a mill near Huddersfield. The
days afterwards consisted of the army rounding up the Luddites with many of them either being
hanged or sent to Australia. By 1813, the Luddites had virtually

the question, What is your opinion on the debate of whether to use a pick when playing the ukulele?
He looked at me, kind of gave me a smirk and said I honestly do not know much about this debate but
I think it is silly to be argued over, because it is up to the person themselves. He then begins to explain
how there are different tones; with a pick it will be much louder and amplified sound, while without a
pick it will obviously be more subtle and have a softer sound. He also brings the point up that after
hearing the two different sounds the ukulele can create, the musician can make it what he or she wants
and express themselves in any way they wish. Brody bringing up this point sheds light on the difficult
problem of people not realizing what the bigger issue here is. Yes, many may think that it is not a big
deal to make this decision but really people that are not musicians do not understand that the simple
strum with or without a pick is what brings the sound alive and it adds so much to the music. To create
the music the right way, the musician has to base the decision off of personal

Rosewood Florida Massacre
RoseWood Florida Massacre of 1923
American History
April 20th 2017
Noah Edmisson
Mr.Laffoon
On January 1, 1923, In a very small black neighborhood called Rosewood. A rumor started that Fannie
Taylor, a white female, had been sexually harassed by a black man in her house. She claimed that a
black man had gotten into her house and assaulted her, but she had no obvious injuries other than her
word that she was unconscious for a long time.
A group of KKK members, believed that this rapist was an escaped inmate named Jesse Hunter who
was hiding in Rosewood, and they wanted to kidnap and kill him. Before this happened many
problems had started aggression within Rosewood. The next day the the clan firebombed the home
before gathered with 200 men from towns around the area who had found out that a negro man had
killed two caucasian men. As the moon came out the clan attacked the town, killing animals and
burning houses and places of business. A completed report claims six negroes were killed along with
two whites men. Other rumors suggest a bigger amount. At the end of the massacre only two buildings
were still up, a house and a store. Many of the African American people of Rosewood ditched to the
wetlands and were taken to a safe area on January 6 by two trains men. John and William Bryce.

overwhelmed, and full of angry. They went through the woods behind the Taylor s home looking for a
rapist. Suspicion soon fell on Jesse Hunter, a black man who had apparently just escaped from a
dangerous street gang, but no proof of that so called escape was ever

Characteristics Of A Freshwater Lake
Figure 1. The zones of a freshwater lake (Smith and Smith 2001).
Within the lentic ecosystems, temperature plays a crucial role. Lake temperatures does not variate
drastically, but does change gradually with every season of the year. Summer, the thermic stratification
of lakes, can be studied in different layers (Figure 2). The superior level of a lake that is terminally
stratified, is known to be epilimnion, which is the warmer part of the fresh water body. This water
remains in the superior part because as the water gets warmer, the light of the sun becomes clearer
than the dense water downward. The metalimnion is the known layer that would be ubicated beneath.
This layer is defined by the thermocline where the temperature slightly decreases. In this phase, the
temperature decreases 1 °C for every single meter that descends. Hypolimnion would be the last
stratified layer in a lake. This deep and cutoff from sources of air. (Korstad 2017)
Another crucial component is the description of the characteristics of a lake is to monitor the quantity
of oxygen and carbon dioxide to various depths. There is a reciprocal relation that exists between
these two elements when they are compared to the depth of a lake (Figure 2) (Korstad 2017). A lake
has the capacity top adhere oxygen by absorption or photosynthesis. The levels high oxygen is
necessary to maintain the necessary nutrients inside the water, and at the same time providing a source
food to all fishes. It is common to see

BRCA2 And Breast Cancer
BRCA 2 INFORMATION
BRCA1 and BRCA2 share a lot of similarities. BRCA2 is also a cause for hereditary breast cancer and
is also responsible for tumor suppressor proteins. BRCA2 is located on chromosome thirteen. BRCA2
can repair breaks within DNA, such as DSBs and can regulate cytokinesis. Cytokinesis is a process
during cell division where the cytoplasm, the fluid inside the cells that is enclosed by the cell
membrane, of one parent cells splits into two daughter cells. BRCA2 mutations are more commonly

One project management software that is out on the market...
One project management software that is out on the market today is called activeCollab . This
software brings together aspects from email, spreadsheets, and databases. One thing that activeCallab
can do that a spreadsheet may not be able to provide you with, is the ability to generate an invoice for
your client based off the data from the project. With this feature it will save a person the time of
manually inputting information, which could lead to input error. Another invoice feature is the ability
to create time entries, so a person may want to bill by days instead of hours, well simply enough
activeCollab can do that for a user. Unlike a spreadsheet, the program also can tell a user the status of
a payment such as if it is pending, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally a last key feature is an interface that lets you work with a client on negotiations of a project.
Another great product that is out is known as AtTask . This software gives you an enterprise work
cloud environment. Some features that are included in this software is the ability to view all work
requests in one area and compare them. By doing this it gives a person the advantage of looking over
all requests and looking at them side by side instead of flipping back and forth through pages. It has
the stand features of tracking the time of a project and comparing the planned time vs. the actual time
spent. Unlike activeCollab, this software has the ability to customize a dashboard, this could include
the projects that you are currently working on, with up to date notifications and reports. This
dashboard can also be transferred over to an Ipad so you can view the project on the go. An additional
feature to this product is uploading different types of documents for your team members to view and
store. The documents can be organized, shared, reviewed, and eventually approved/disapproved.
Along with the different features that AtTask provides it also has many other software integrations
such as the use of Outlook to collaborate with your fellow team members. For document sharing it
connects with cloud based programs such as Google

Tax Advice Privilege Case Study
I. Identified Issues Several problems have resulted from the current interpretation of §7525. First, the
fact that there are many/more cases where assertion of the tax advice privilege is denied shows that it
is not understood (obviously, it can be a litigation/stalling technique, but
misinformation/misunderstanding can be a big part of it too). Second, uniform adoption/recognition of
the proper name of the privilege can help dispel incorrect assumptions or inferences/impressions. Don
t call it the tax practitioner/accountant client privilege, because that leads people to believe that the
WHO is important, when in reality, it s the WHAT that is most important (legal tax advice is
privileged because it s legal tax advice, not because it was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The statute says that anything with a CPA is privileged if same stuff is privileged if with an attorney.
But courts have shown that this is not the case. Unlike attorney work product, accountant work
product is not privileged. Some communications that otherwise may be privileged are not because
they are included in mixed/dual purpose communications/documents. The language of the statute
could be amended to eliviate this confusion. Instead of saying stuff is protected if it would be
protected with an attorney, the statute should outline what is protected (normally you wouldn t want to
list everything out not economical but since courts have stripped scope down so much, it s easier to
just be clear about the few things that actually are privileged [litigation prep]. Fourth, use of the vague
phrase tax advice , coupled with the lack of any statutory definition of such phrase leads to disputes
between parties as to what constitutes tax advice. Case law is replete with examples of parties
claiming communications contained tax advice merely because tax issues were discussed. If courts
have interpreted tax advice to be a narrow definition, the statute should be amended to avoid further

Project Manager, Main Contractor (the companies project manager of foreman) Lead designer
(usually out sourced) Technical Manager (employed by the appointed contractor or working directly

Banana Yoshimoto comparative essay
Garber 1 Dylan Garber Ms. Ursula Misztal The Contemporary Short Story May 6th, 2013 How
Banana Yoshimoto Brings The Unconscious to Life in Newlywed and Helix Banana Yoshimoto
effectively portrays various common themes and motifs in both Helix and Newlywed , in revealing the
subconscious state of mind of the respective protagonists. Although the storylines are quite different,
we get the feeling that many themes and strategies such as isolation, incredible poetic effect, and the
recurring use of a helper figure used to develop the characters, are relatively interchangeable. These
literary patterns allow for the protagonists to both escape the shallowness that plagues them, and bring
to light the deeper meaning behind their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This dramatization brings the reader to the realization that the protagonist s stream of consciousness
narration is very unpredictable, yet will ultimately lead to his ability to expose his true feelings as the
story develops. The author clearly likes to represent this feeling of indecision with poetic illustration
as it is used several times in both stories. In Newlywed , the narrator vividly describes his mixed
feelings toward his wife, Atsuko, during the peak of his epiphany like experience: For me, the
beautiful, all encompassing web spun by this creature is at once so polluted, yet so pure that I feel
compelled to grab on to it. I am terrified by it but find myself unable to hide from it. At some point I
have been caught up in the magical power she has. (Newlywed, 16) Banana doesn t strictly limit her
poetic language to the story s character development; she also uses it to depict specific moods in order
to contextualize certain situations that shake up the intensity of the story itself. Coincidentally, in both
Helix and Newlywed , the feeling of isolation is commonly portrayed throughout both stories with the
unique use of grandiose language. This allows the protagonists to avoid any outside

Holistic Medicine Essays
Holistic Medicine
Holistic Medicine, commonly referred to as Alternative Medicine , is a vast and rapidly growing new
scientific field. It is derived mainly from ancient, traditional methods of healing that have often been
practiced in the East for centuries. These include a variety of techniques from herbal healing to
acupuncture to homeopathy to energy channeling. Due to the large number of methods that are
covered by the term, there are various definitions of Holistic Medicine. However, all literature seems
to agree that Alternative Medicine, is exactly what the name suggests: an alternative approach to
healing and medicine. It is a more personal move toward health care, which attempts to connect the
mind, body and spirit. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An increasing number of medical schools are now offering courses in alternative medicine for their
students, and some hospitals already have alternative medicine departments. The availability of
healers and doctors practicing holistic medicine has also increased in recent years, and more and more
people are educating themselves in these new fields. In fact, the World Health Organization estimates
that between 65 and 80 percent of the world s population (about 3 billion people) rely on traditional
medicine as their primary form of health care. Because many of the treatments of alternative medicine
do not adhere to the principles of conventional medicine, whether or not to allow practice of these
techniques in the United States is a major concern of the medical community today. The Food and
Drug Administration is the decision making body of issues such as this and more often than not, does
not approve many of these practices. Due to the fact that holistic medicine sometimes contradicts the
fundamentals of biomedicine, health care regulation boards such as the FDA find it difficult to accept
many of these treatments. Because the Western world is so unfamiliar with these techniques it is only
natural for medical community to often disprove these methods. However, as more and more doctors

Free-Will Vs Determinism
The notion of free will has received a lot of attention in philosophy. Before we can examine it,
however, we must understand some basic terminology. Determinism, when simply put, is the idea that
everything including thoughts, decisions, and actions are predetermined before it even happens.
Everything was determined to happen up to what kind of toast you ate for breakfast. There is no
choice, randomness, and free will does not exist. Indeterminism is the opposite of determinism. It is a
theory that one event does not necessarily cause another event to happen, and that if you were to put
the universe into rewind and play it over again, it would have a different outcome each time.
Compatibilism or soft determinism, agrees that determinism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Determinism and free will can not be associated with each other, because determinism is the belief
that everything happens for a reason and free will is the idea that you have control over actions
without influece or persuasions of any sort. If determinism is true, your past has influence over the
decisions that you make in the present and future, therefore, determinism and free will are not
compatible. Every event has a cause; every cause is also an event; human behavior is an event; thus,
all human behavior is a cause; if an event is caused, it is not free; thus, no human behavior is free, and
free will does not exist (Blatchford, 1998). This claim makes no sense since the fact that it presents
that as if everything started from an initial major event. However, this event can not be the initial and
first one, since it also claims that every event has a cause, following this logic the first event definitely
does not exist and the chain of causes and events are

Essay about How Christians Interpret And Celebrate The...
How Christians Interpret And Celebrate The Last Supper Today
Holy Communion is very important in Christian worship. This is the occasion on which the priest
distributes bread and wine. This is one is of the seven Sacraments. A Sacrament is a physical act with
a spiritual meaning. It takes the form of a ceremony intended to reveal and to give a greater sense of
closeness to God. The spiritual meaning of Holy Communion is togetherness with God and each other.
During Holy Communion the priest takes the bread and wine, gives thanks to God, breaks the bread
and then gives them to the worshipers. This is known as the Fourfold Eucharistic actions. Eucharist
means thanksgiving. So the Eucharist or Holy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This serves the purpose of remembering the Last Supper and also brings a feeling of closeness with
God, Jesus and each other. It will also remind Christians of the death and resurrection of Jesus.
Holy Communion has four main meanings. The first is remembrance. Holy Communion
commemorates the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. Corinthians 11:23 25 writes that Jesus took and
broke the bread, referred to it as his body and said, Do this in remembrance of me. Similarly after the
supper he took a cup and referred to it as, the new covenant in my blood and said, Do this whenever
you drink it, in remembrance of me.
The second is participation. Jesus did more than just take and break the bread and take and pour the
wine. He gave these things to the disciples to eat, thus he was involving them in the last supper. So
today the Last supper is more than just a commemoration, where we remember a past event, it is a
communion in which we participate in the remembrance and share in its benefits.
The apostle Paul wrote: is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the
blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? (1
Corinthians 10:16)
This show that in Holy Communion we are meant to participate and share in

How Did Ben Carson Impact Society
Ben Carson was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 18th, 1951, and from there his life was a
downhill struggle. At the age of 13, his mother Sonya married a much older Baptist preacher named
Robert Solomon Carson, who was from Tennessee. They had two children, Curtis and Benjamin.
When Ben was 8 years old, Sonya and Robert divorced, and Robert moved back to Tennessee. Sonya
was left to raise the two boys alone (World Biographies pg. 1). Ben Carson has changed history,
science, math, and literature because he refused to let his trials hold him back. Dr. Carson has made a
profound impact on our country, and may still have an impact, because he sets personal goals and

Dr. Carson changed history because he changed his personal mindset. He began to see himself as a
student with potential to learn. He started working hard and actually graduated high school with
honors. He made it into Yale University, and earned his degree in Psychology ( Benjamin Carson
Biography pg. 1). However, Ben changed his mind soon after and went to the University of Michigan
to become a neurosurgeon (Dr. Ben Carson pg. 1).
Ben made a massive impact on history because of his strong work ethic. Because his mother could not
provide money for him to go to college, he had to work while he was training to become a
neurosurgeon. Ben would knock on doors every summer in order to find a job, and he was usually
successful because of his commitment . His hard work paid off when he graduated from Yale and
became a gifted neurosurgeon (Ben Carson Biography pg. 1). Dr. Carson changed history because of
his willingness to take risks. He was hired at Johns Hopkins Hospital where he worked for almost
forty years. Ben has received much recognition for performing and mastering ground breaking
surgical procedures because he was the first one willing to take risks (Dr. Ben Carson pg. 1). Dr.
Carson worked towards a goal if there was even a slight chance of success. He risked his job one time,

Claudius s Craziness In Hamlet
As Hamlet might seem like one to be thoughtful of his actions, he changes as he suddenly acts crazy.
This craziness is used as a cover for a plan to kill Claudius. It is almost as if this sudden change in
character causes Hamlet to garner the true characteristics of his craziness. He thinks on his feet as he
contemplates, Haste me to know t, that I, with wings as swift/ As meditation or the thoughts of love/
May sweep to my revenge (I.vi.35 37). Speaking to the ghost of old Hamlet, he suddenly pushes his
plan in response to the news of his father s murder. He reacts quickly without ambition to conquer his
motive. This evolving character proves to be hostile towards others as this revenge is no longer a train
of thought, but instead, an action ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With uncertainty of trusting the ghost, while pretending to be crazy, he organizes a play, wherein I ll
catch the conscious of the king (II.ii.634). Although it might seem like Hamlet inherits philosophical
aspects, it is the fear that is holding him back. He procrastinates the murder of the king, as he
apprehends facing death. This theme is further repeated when he says, Now might I do it pat. Now he
is a praying. / And now I ll do t. And so he goes to heaven. / And so am I revenged. That would be
scanned. / A villain kills my father, and, for that, / I, his sole son, do this same villain send / To heaven.
/ Oh, this is hire and salary, not revenge (III.iii.77 84). Hamlet begins to overthink his objective by
postponing the murder. This waiting represents the fear Hamlet contains. His conscience does not
allow him to follow through with the murder. These characters resemble correlative traits when
Claudius ordered Hamlet to be sent to England with fear and trepidation, To bear all smooth and even,
/ This sudden sending him away must seem / Deliberate pause. Diseases desperate grown / By
desperate appliance are relieved, / Or not at all, (IV.iii.7 11) foreseeing danger if he stayed around.

How would you inform team members of the outcomes of continuous improvement proceses? Mediums to be used in order to inform team members of the outcomes of continuous improvement processes could be in the form of a soft copy such as e mail, sms, a power point presentation, or an Intranet platform as well as in the shape of a hard copy like personalised letters and general newsletters. TASK 2 Case Study The problems Mary is facing from when she takes on her new role as a manager in the call centre are a growingly bad customer service caused by a low working morale. This has been accepted and even fuelled by the former management as well as staff not willing to take responsibility for their work, including follow ups on customer complaints. What is taking place here seems like the blame game , which refers to everyone pointing their finger to someone else if any issue or complaint occurs. The staff is being left very insecure about what is expected from them and the specific requirements of their job. The team leaders are not receptive for suggestions and ideas from the call centre operators and they actually feel threatened if someone comes up with a better idea, so they refuse to act . Due to this situation the company has already lost a major client as well as having call centre operators resigning from their working contracts. Mary has been asked to help improving this situation. Overlooking the situation in the call centre and Mary s position I would suggest that she has to act immediately and before even considering any changes on the level of the call centre operators (operational level), which have been blamed for most of the misery, she has to sit down with the senior management or the CEO of the company to get really clear on the companies goals. ... • 3. My Biggest Contribution For The Uconn Community Will Be My... My biggest contribution to the UConn community will be my fearlessness. I m not afraid of being proved wrong, I m not afraid of failing, and I m never afraid of proving myself. When I m working at robotics I don t tell people to solve problems creatively, I actively engage in their discussion and love playing the devil s advocate. For example, this year when we were brainstorming the best drive train systems to use for a design challenge they all wanted to do a basic 3x3 system and simply use six CIMotors instead of the standard four. So, I challenged them. I presented 6 valuable reasons why mecanum wheels with 4 CIMotors would work way better and then challenged them to tell me why I m wrong. They couldn t, but mecanum wheels are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But, that doesn t change the fact that I m one of the three most experienced members on that team when it comes to course directions, techniques, and pitfalls to avoid. But my admittedly disappointing fitness level means that I get a lot of sass from the freshmen and sophomores I m trying to teach. They challenge my knowledge base and ability to teach them skills I ve mastered because of my unrelated fitness level. But every day I go back and I challenge their beliefs; I get on my rollerskis and show them how my balance, technique, and form are not at all related to my 5k times. I m not afraid of their judgement or scorn and instead to go and I actively show through my actions that I m not afraid to prove myself to them. I know what I can and cannot and that s all I need to confidently advise and correct them while they learn. I m not afraid to teach a doubting mind and I m not afraid of being challenged where I work. I m fearless, and that s something every community needs. blech Three experiences in my life truly defined my goal of going into medicine; my injuries, research experiences, and shadowing experience. My personal injuries over the course of my life really ignited my interest in medicine. The truth is, I m an incredibly accomplished bone breaker. • 4. Rogers And Psychodynamic Therapy II: BIOGRAPHY OF ROGERS On January 8, 1902, Rogers was born in Oak Park, Illinois, a little suburb outside of Chicago. He was the fourth out of six other children. He was brought up in a home marked by close family ties, a very strict and uncompromising religious and ethical atmosphere, and what amounted to a worship of the virtue of hard work. His parents cared a great deal for him and their other children, and they had their welfare almost constantly in mind. His parents were also, in many subtle and affectionate ways, very controlling of their children s behavior. Rogers said that it was assumed by them and himself that they were different from other people no alcoholic beverages, no dancing, cards or theater, very little social life, ... Later, his theory was termed client centered, person centered, student centered, group centered, and person to person. We use the label client centered in reference to Carl s therapy and the more inclusive term person centered to refer to Rogerian personality theory (J. Feist, G. Feist, Roberts, 2013, p. 289). The core purpose of the person centered approach is to actualize tendency (facilitate the personal growth and relationships of an individual by allowing them to explore and utilize their own strengths and personal identity). A counselor that uses person centered approach will aid this process and provide support to help their clients overcome the problems that are dwelling ad affecting their personal development and progress. Even though there are hundreds that have reached the far corners of the earth, they hardly live up to the legends of Columbus, Marco Polo, and Magellan. Similarly, the so called New World and central America receive more attention in the Age of Exploration than does the so called Orient, even though the east has existed for much longer than the west. Travel writing has always been a popular subject. As a book, it more closely resembles a narrative than a scientific account, explaining why the public loved it. She began her story as the humble woman she was, unsure where to go or what to do with her life. Once she had decided on West Africa, she inquired of all my friends as a beginning what they knew of West Africa. 1 Most of her friends knew nothing, and the few that had some knowledge highly discouraged her from going. Most doctors called it the deadliest spot on earth, referencing the highly contagious and dangerous diseases residing in that region.2 For all intents and purposes, an introduction such as this would have immediately captivated the reader, drawing them into an unfamiliar and dangerous world that they wanted to know more about. Before traveling, she attempted to educate herself on what West Africa was like, and was interested to find that most of the information could be found under the following different headings...The Dangers of West Africa...The Disagreeables of West Africa.... The Diseases of West Africa...The Worst Possible Things You can do in West Africa. 10 With titles such as these, it shows just how important the titles of Kingsley s own works were, and how even on the front page she attempted to refute many of the stereotypes about the region at that ... These underground tunnels tend to fill with ground water. To prevent this, steam pumps were installed to keep the tunnels dry. The groundwater pumped out of the mines is comparatively clean (Wilkinson 2011, 3). Once the steam pump is shut off, the underground water is able to fill up the abandoned mine over years. After all tunnels are filled up, the water finds a way to release itself. This is called natural drainage water (Wilkinson 2011, 3). In case of the project, this happens through the outfall which is right above high water spring tide. The water that is released through the outfall is not as clean as the actively ... Those forces include the rise and fall of tides, wind, intensity of waves and variation in temperature. They consist of rocky ledges, boulders and pebbles. Furthermore, pools with seawater can be found. Rocky shores can be divided into different zones, according to vertical height. The zones vary in diversity (see Fig. 6) and most species are adapted to a specific zone (Little 2009, 17). The top of the shore is bare rock and living organisms such as littorinid snails or lichens can be found there. This zone is called splash zone as it above high tide mark and therefore perpetually out of water (Little 2009, 18). The second zone is called littoral zone (or intertidal) and has its boundaries defined as distance between very highest and very lowest spring tide. The lower, middle and upper shore are included into this zone and there is a varying degree of exposure to seawater, depending on the tide. Organisms living there must be able to cope with fluctuating air and breaking waves. Rock pools and Fucus spiralis are found in this part of the rocky shore (Little 2009, 18). • 8. Internet Protocol Is The Primary Protocol 1.Introduction: Internet Protocol is the primary protocol in the internet layer of the OSI networking model. IP s job is to deliver packets from a source computer to a destination computer. As of May 2015, about 97% of web traffic uses IPv4. IPv6 is a 128 bit address. IPV6 is the standard fundamental infrastructure to the internet addressing. It helps us to simplify the transition from ipv4 to ipv6. Mainly ipv6 helps us in TCPIP networking and addressing architecture. The present variant of the Internet convention (IP) is getting to be old as a result of its constrained location space, absence of required usefulness and insufficient security highlights. The upcoming era of IP, called IPv6, has now been institutionalized and will convey TCP/IP systems and applications well into the following century. (Stallings.w , 1996). • 9. Horniman Horticulture Background Horniman Horticulture is a whole sale nursery business that has been owned by Maggie and Bob for three years. They have seen an increase in business and number of plants grown at the nursery and are expecting demand to continue to grow. In 2005, the business s profit margin was expected to grow to 5.8% up from 3.1% in 2003. This projected growth seems accurate considering Maggie s conservative approach with the companies cash balance. Handling the finances, Maggie dislikes debt financing because of her fear of holding too much inventory and thus not being able to make interest payments. When you look at the balance sheet in Exhibit B we can see that the current assets have increased 19% and total assets increased 14.4%. This is due primarily to the increase in inventory and accounts receivable. In the four years from 2002 to 2005 inventory has increased 8.7% and accounts receivable has increased 16.4%. Due to this, the cash balance has decreased from $120,100 all the way down to $9,400. In addition in 2005, the cash balance went below their comfort level of $10,000 down to $9,400. This is not meeting their expectation of their 8% minimum of total revenue target. Financial Ratio Analysis Even though their business was growing significantly, and they were experiencing a steady increase in revenues, they were seeing a huge decrease in their cash. The reason for this is because of their recent change to an increase in business from small nurseries. I hope that by educating myself that it will help to counteract the unintentional biases and judgements that I have learned from breathing in the racist smog that prevails in our society. I chose to watch Remember the Titans for my Immersion One activity. I thought this movie would accurately show the experiences that African Americans have had with racism in the past in our country and that they also still continue to struggle with today. I have watched this movie countless times before but this time when I watched it was different than before. I always knew it was obviously a movie about racism, but I never picked up on tiny parts of the dialogue and certain scenes stood out as much more significant to me than they have in the past. For example, at one point in the movie a brick is thrown through Coach Boone s window while his daughter and Sheryl Yoast are playing in the living room. The next day, Coach Yoast is angry about what happened. He accuses Coach Boone for it being his fault that the brick was thrown through his window because of his sins . The Chinese educational system is a centralised educational system. The legislation of education rests not locally or provincially but centrally, with the Ministry. One of the reasons that the education system has continued to grow and change is because of the help from foreign countries. The reason for this aid is because the different countries have seen and heard about the state of education in China. European ethnocentrism and racism also affected patterns of Aboriginal socialization. Since most whites viewed all aspects of indigenous life to be culturally and morally inferior, missionaries made efforts to eliminate the egalitarianism customs of Aboriginal societies and to promote the norms of the dominant European patriarchal society. • 15. Water Quality And Water Pollution CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background information Water is an essential resource for life which greatly influences our public and environmental health as well as providing the pedestal for most of our economic activities. Unsustainable use of fresh water resources, population increase, and the trend in industrial revolution have led to environmental degradation especially by the release of partially treated or untreated wastewater into aquatic systems. Thus, the global freshwater resource is at risk and majority of the problems that humanity faces in the twenty first century are related to water quantity and/or water quality issues (UNESCO, 2009). The importance of water for sustenance of life cannot be overemphasized and its depletion of either through contamination, or careless use results in serious consequences (Owa, 2013). About 70 % of the earth is covered with water, but hardly 2 % of it is quality for drinking (Mann et al., 2014). The relative importance of water quality versus water quantity, sanitation and hygiene education interventions for protecting the population s health has been the subject of considerable debate (Esrey et al, 1985, 1991). Nevertheless, there is broad agreement that good water quality, free of pathogens and heavy metals is important to human health. Water is regarded polluted if some components or condition is existing to such a magnitude that the water cannot be used for a particular purpose. Water pollution affects flora and organisms ... During the 18th and 19th centuries, a new period called the Industrial Revolution began with societies which used to be mainly agrarian in Europe and America, becoming industrial and urban. When I interviewed Brody, I asked him the question, What is your opinion on the debate of whether to use a pick when playing the ukulele? He looked at me, kind of gave me a smirk and said I honestly do not know much about this debate but I think it is silly to be argued over, because it is up to the person themselves. Lake temperatures does not variate drastically, but does change gradually with every season of the year. Summer, the thermic stratification of lakes, can be studied in different layers (Figure 2). The superior level of a lake that is terminally stratified, is known to be epilimnion, which is the warmer part of the fresh water body. This water remains in the superior part because as the water gets warmer, the light of the sun becomes clearer than the dense water downward. The metalimnion is the known layer that would be ubicated beneath. This layer is defined by the thermocline where the temperature slightly decreases. In this phase, the temperature decreases 1 °C for every single meter that descends. Hypolimnion would be the last stratified layer in a lake. This deep and cutoff from sources of air. I am terrified by it but find myself unable to hide from it. At some point I have been caught up in the magical power she has. (Newlywed, 16) Banana doesn t strictly limit her poetic language to the story s character development; she also uses it to depict specific moods in order to contextualize certain situations that shake up the intensity of the story itself. Coincidentally, in both Helix and Newlywed , the feeling of isolation is commonly portrayed throughout both stories with the unique use of grandiose language. This allows the protagonists to avoid any outside ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Holistic Medicine Essays Holistic Medicine Holistic Medicine, commonly referred to as Alternative Medicine , is a vast and rapidly growing new scientific field. It is derived mainly from ancient, traditional methods of healing that have often been practiced in the East for centuries. These include a variety of techniques from herbal healing to acupuncture to homeopathy to energy channeling. Due to the large number of methods that are covered by the term, there are various definitions of Holistic Medicine. However, all literature seems to agree that Alternative Medicine, is exactly what the name suggests: an alternative approach to healing and medicine. It is a more personal move toward health care, which attempts to connect the mind, body and spirit. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An increasing number of medical schools are now offering courses in alternative medicine for their students, and some hospitals already have alternative medicine departments. The availability of healers and doctors practicing holistic medicine has also increased in recent years, and more and more people are educating themselves in these new fields. In fact, the World Health Organization estimates that between 65 and 80 percent of the world s population (about 3 billion people) rely on traditional medicine as their primary form of health care. Because many of the treatments of alternative medicine do not adhere to the principles of conventional medicine, whether or not to allow practice of these techniques in the United States is a major concern of the medical community today. The Food and Drug Administration is the decision making body of issues such as this and more often than not, does not approve many of these practices. Due to the fact that holistic medicine sometimes contradicts the fundamentals of biomedicine, health care regulation boards such as the FDA find it difficult to accept many of these treatments. Because the Western world is so unfamiliar with these techniques it is only natural for medical community to often disprove these methods. • 29. Free-Will Vs Determinism The notion of free will has received a lot of attention in philosophy. Before we can examine it, however, we must understand some basic terminology. Determinism, when simply put, is the idea that everything including thoughts, decisions, and actions are predetermined before it even happens. Everything was determined to happen up to what kind of toast you ate for breakfast. There is no choice, randomness, and free will does not exist. Indeterminism is the opposite of determinism. It is a theory that one event does not necessarily cause another event to happen, and that if you were to put the universe into rewind and play it over again, it would have a different outcome each time. Compatibilism or soft determinism, agrees that determinism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Determinism and free will can not be associated with each other, because determinism is the belief that everything happens for a reason and free will is the idea that you have control over actions without influece or persuasions of any sort. If determinism is true, your past has influence over the decisions that you make in the present and future, therefore, determinism and free will are not compatible. Every event has a cause; every cause is also an event; human behavior is an event; thus, all human behavior is a cause; if an event is caused, it is not free; thus, no human behavior is free, and free will does not exist (Blatchford, 1998). This claim makes no sense since the fact that it presents that as if everything started from an initial major event. However, this event can not be the initial and first one, since it also claims that every event has a cause, following this logic the first event definitely does not exist and the chain of causes and events are ... It takes the form of a ceremony intended to reveal and to give a greater sense of closeness to God. The spiritual meaning of Holy Communion is togetherness with God and each other. This serves the purpose of remembering the Last Supper and also brings a feeling of closeness with God, Jesus and each other. It will also remind Christians of the death and resurrection of Jesus. Holy Communion has four main meanings. The first is remembrance. Holy Communion commemorates the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. Corinthians 11:23 25 writes that Jesus took and broke the bread, referred to it as his body and said, Do this in remembrance of me. Similarly after the supper he took a cup and referred to it as, the new covenant in my blood and said, Do this whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me. The second is participation. Jesus did more than just take and break the bread and take and pour the wine. He gave these things to the disciples to eat, thus he was involving them in the last supper. So today the Last supper is more than just a commemoration, where we remember a past event, it is a communion in which we participate in the remembrance and share in its benefits. The apostle Paul wrote: is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? (1 Corinthians 10:16) This show that in Holy Communion we are meant to participate and share in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He thinks on his feet as he contemplates, Haste me to know t, that I, with wings as swift/ As meditation or the thoughts of love/ May sweep to my revenge (I.vi.35 37). Although it might seem like Hamlet inherits philosophical aspects, it is the fear that is holding him back. He procrastinates the murder of the king, as he apprehends facing death. This theme is further repeated when he says, Now might I do it pat. Now he is a praying. / And now I ll do t. And so he goes to heaven. / And so am I revenged. That would be scanned. / A villain kills my father, and, for that, / I, his sole son, do this same villain send / To heaven. / Oh, this is hire and salary, not revenge (III.iii.77 84). Hamlet begins to overthink his objective by postponing the murder. This waiting represents the fear Hamlet contains. His conscience does not allow him to follow through with the murder. These characters resemble correlative traits when Claudius ordered Hamlet to be sent to England with fear and trepidation, To bear all smooth and even, / This sudden sending him away must seem / Deliberate pause. Diseases desperate grown / By desperate appliance are relieved, / Or not at all, (IV.iii.7 11) foreseeing danger if he stayed around.
