Software?
 ‘Photoshop Cs4’:
- I will be using ‘Photoshop’ for editing my photos, and
creating the layout of my magazine pages (including
the front cover, contents page and double page spread).
- This software is beneficial for someone, like me, who
wants to add extra effects to their images or style of
font.
- I have used this software many times before so I am
quite comfortable when doing the basics. However, I still
may need to learn a little more on how to use extra key
settings that would improve the quality of my photos (I
will do this my looking through more tutorials, so I
understand more on how to use this software).
- Unfortunately, I do not have this particular software at
home, therefore, I would have to frequently book a
computer at school. This is so I am always continuing
with the process of creating my magazine product, with
no delays.
Equipment?
 (School) Studio Lights – I will use a range
of lights to create the correct high key
lighting that would suit best for the shot.
 (School) Soft box –The umbrella light,
where the light from the bulb is bounced off
the inside of a metalized umbrella, would
create a soft indirect light.
 (School) Reflector – I will be using a
round reflector which would reflect more
light on the subject (this gives me more of a
professional lighting, without using any
more professional equipment) – I will have
an assistant to hold the reflector for me.
 All this equipment would brighten areas on
the object, and will most likely improve the
quality of my shots (I do not want any dark
shadows within my shots).
 I will be using an average
sized white screen, in which
my models/objects would be
positioned in front of when I
take photos.
 This is so it will make it easier
for me to change the
background, before I place the
photo on my magazine page
(but the majority of my photos
will have no background).
 I will not be using a green
screen as it is mainly used for
filming, and I won’t be
needing to edit the
background a lot. A white
screen will also blend in with
the light shining on the model.
I will be using the media
department’s white screen, at
school (which I would book)
Equipment
(Camera)?
 I will be using the school’s Panasonic
HC-X920 Camera.
 I like to use this camera because it takes
very sharp, high quality photos. I am
comfortable when using this camera as I
have used it before, when I was taking
photos for the previous GCSE coursework
– therefore, I know how to use the
settings on the camera quite well.
 I have already fairly booked this specific
camera at school to use on specific days
of my photo shoots; so there is no need to
worry or stress about managing to get a
camera for the deadline.

Resources and Equipment

  • 2. Software?  ‘Photoshop Cs4’: - I will be using ‘Photoshop’ for editing my photos, and creating the layout of my magazine pages (including the front cover, contents page and double page spread). - This software is beneficial for someone, like me, who wants to add extra effects to their images or style of font. - I have used this software many times before so I am quite comfortable when doing the basics. However, I still may need to learn a little more on how to use extra key settings that would improve the quality of my photos (I will do this my looking through more tutorials, so I understand more on how to use this software). - Unfortunately, I do not have this particular software at home, therefore, I would have to frequently book a computer at school. This is so I am always continuing with the process of creating my magazine product, with no delays.
  • 3. Equipment?  (School) Studio Lights – I will use a range of lights to create the correct high key lighting that would suit best for the shot.  (School) Soft box –The umbrella light, where the light from the bulb is bounced off the inside of a metalized umbrella, would create a soft indirect light.  (School) Reflector – I will be using a round reflector which would reflect more light on the subject (this gives me more of a professional lighting, without using any more professional equipment) – I will have an assistant to hold the reflector for me.  All this equipment would brighten areas on the object, and will most likely improve the quality of my shots (I do not want any dark shadows within my shots).
  • 4.  I will be using an average sized white screen, in which my models/objects would be positioned in front of when I take photos.  This is so it will make it easier for me to change the background, before I place the photo on my magazine page (but the majority of my photos will have no background).  I will not be using a green screen as it is mainly used for filming, and I won’t be needing to edit the background a lot. A white screen will also blend in with the light shining on the model. I will be using the media department’s white screen, at school (which I would book)
  • 5. Equipment (Camera)?  I will be using the school’s Panasonic HC-X920 Camera.  I like to use this camera because it takes very sharp, high quality photos. I am comfortable when using this camera as I have used it before, when I was taking photos for the previous GCSE coursework – therefore, I know how to use the settings on the camera quite well.  I have already fairly booked this specific camera at school to use on specific days of my photo shoots; so there is no need to worry or stress about managing to get a camera for the deadline.
