Photographs have been circling the world for years now . There are many different types of cameras,
but only some have changed and revolutionized the world. The history behind them and the history it
has captured throughout the years has impacted the world in numerous ways. It is very important to
know how certain things like lighting and angle affect the outcome of photographs. To be able to
capture a perfect photograph one will have to understand how lighting , angle , third rule affect a

The lighting of a photograph affects the mood, shape, and texture of the photograph. There is two
types of lighting , low key and high key. Low key lighting is used to give more shape to a photograph
using shadows, or dark tones causing a more dramatic look to the image(

Free Community College Tuition for the Globalized Economy My community college tuition is
already free. How is this possible? I am a Running Start student, so Washington State allows me to
attend college classes at Yakima Valley College (YVC) while completing high school with no tuition

majority of YVC students. In his book The World Is Flat, author and New York Times journalist

Atmosphere In Fallen Angels
Atmosphere is essential to help bring energy to a story. Atmosphere can change throughout the novel,
but in Fallen Angels it can be broken down into three sections. The first section consists of the
uncertain state of war that the squad finds themselves in. This is shown by the opinions among the
soldiers about what it will be like when they actually go to war. The first section also includes the
shock of how different the real war is then what it is portrayed as. Peewee summed it up by saying, I
didn t think they was going to have no real fighting in this here war. (pg.23) the first section of this
book is also very thrilling and suspenseful, after Jenkins death the squad realizes that their lives are
about to get way worse than they would ve imagined. Tense is a word that ... Show more content on

The main part of the novel is set in the jungle of Vietnam which is very rainy and wet. Even though
this is the main setting Perry often talks about his home back in Harlem. Perry used to live in the
slums, which were neglected and poverty stricken as he says on page 14, How was I going to get
clothes for Kenny so he would stay in school? Mama had said that she d see to it that Kenny stayed in
school if I sent the money for clothes for him. (pg.14) So clearly Richie s mom was not bringing in
much money so Richie had to provide for the family. In Vietnam it rained almost everyday and was
mucky and grimy. The squad was placed in Chu Lai which was proficient and very intensive. At Chu
Lai they went out on patrols, and on one of them Jenkins lost his life giving the rest of the people in
the squad their first look at death. Then they had to move to Tam Ky, which was not as proficient and
was less state of the art. At Tam Ky, they are surrounded by the Vietnamese which makes patrolling at
night so much more difficult and dangerous. At Tam Ky during a mission Richie becomes injured and
his profile is found, then he is sent back to

Introduction
Missionary expansion throughout the centuries has taken a hard, often violent road. The expansion of
Christianity begins with the adherents of Jesus Christ and ended with the premature demise of many
of the disciples. In the centuries following the disciples, many missionaries were faced with
percussion and death as the gospel was proclaimed. As missionary expansion occurs throughout the
centuries, often times facing trial and difficulty, the question comes up; is the capital cost of
missionary expansion worth the monetary value? This paper will highlight many trials that have been
faced by three missionaries in particular and explain often by the words of these missionaries why the
enormous cost of missionary expansion is worth the cost. The thesis of this paper is: everyone is
called to preach the gospel; the calling of the missionary is called to live by faith even when facing
difficulty.

Medical Accounts On Women s Sexuality And Sexual Role
Women occupy a very difficult position in society whereas no matter what they do they will always be
considered or looked at as a gender who seem to have something wrong with them. It is often an
ongoing factor in society that women are regularly considered to be either mental or suffering from a
condition that has affected them in ways in which they act or behave. Sometimes it may not be the
case that something is wrong with them it s just how they are but unfortunately parts of society fail to
take up this notion. In this essay I am going to explore medical accounts on women links to their
mental instability served to regulate their sexuality and sexual role. Statistics show that women are
more likely to be treated for illness than men. Whereas 29% of women compared to men 17% where
being treated for mental health problems. (Better Or Worse: A Longitudinal Study Of The Mental
Health Of Adults In Great Britain, National Statistics, 2003) Although it could be that women are
more likely to respond and admit symptoms this is not always the case as women are often linked to
having a mental illness regardless.
Depression and anxiety is vastly dominated with women as to men due to the life changing factorsin
the past that women have been through (Robinson, 2006). Depression is seen as a form of mental
illness that are generally suffered by women. According to (National Institute For Clinical Excellence,
2003) 1 in every 4 woman are being omitted in hospital because of depression

Kmart Past Struggles
Management is a key to success, and Kmart needs proper management to help create a positive image
that attracts more customers. Kmart s disorderly management and bankruptcy caused many customers
to shop with other retailers. According to Carr, Wal Mart and Kmart were the same size in 1990. Since
then, Kmart has grown far slower than its rival or the industry. Once one of the largest discount
retailers, Kmart filed for the biggest Chapter 11 bankruptcy for discount retailing in the United States

ultimately helped lead the company to its downfall. Kmart is constantly changing CEO s, and thus

Kmart s national struggle has affected the well being of many of its local stores. Since, Kalamazoo,
Michigan contains two stores one located on Stadium Drive and the other on Gull Road the impact in
this area is no exception. Local stores have suffered and need improvement, surveying a random group
of 12 students at Western Michigan University found that Kalamazoo stores have a very uninviting
appearance influencing consumers decisions to shop elsewhere, this survey was conducted in March
of 2005, Appendix A. Surveying these students has shown that most have no interest in Kmart, due to
lack of selection, quality, and untidiness. Store hours that end at ten o clock are not convenient for
students. Even though these stores have an excellent location, changes are necessary to improve
Kmart s image and therefore attract more customers.
Changes that can Benefit Kmart
Kalamazoo Kmarts can improve their image and marketing strategy to catch the attention of more
Kalamazoo students. According to city data, there are 29,471 college students attending one of the

Statement Of Purpose For Financial Management Accounting
Financial Management Accounting has been developing since the evolution of International Financial
Reporting Standards. The significance of highly qualified management accountants is crucial for
public and private enterprises, developing countries, startups, and others. Personally, I have chosen
Oulu University and Financial Management Accounting due to several reasons that are based on my
experience and motivation. I am a competent candidate for applying to study in Financial
Management Accounting Master s Degree program at Oulu University. The first reason of applying is
to develop the most essential set of skills in order to produce the best results possible. Some
individuals claim that education is an ongoing process from birth till death. It sounds a bit ruthless, but
this is a true claim. The general objective of a management accountant is to provide decision making
information in a certain economic situation; provide justification for a price increase, forecast and plan
different financial results. Therefore, the data that is provided should be maximum accurate, well

Pros And Cons Of The Conservation Corps
My previous experiences with the Conservation Corps taught me so much. Not only did it help me
learn the importance of hard work, communication, and teamwork, but it opened my eyes to many
other vital skills. The Conservation Corps gave me perspective. I learned to look at people not as their
stereotypes, but for the individuals they were. When I was in immersed in nature, I never felt so
connected to who I am. I built life long friendships, learned to trust others even when it was difficult,
and found parts of myself that I d never seen before. I want to return to the corps because other, easier,
jobs wouldn t offer me the same opportunities to grow the skills I originally learned. I would be
honored to become a Conservation Corps of MN and IA Wilderness Crew Member.
My biggest strength is my adaptability. I always try to have an open mind when I meet others who
have different views than me. I see the option for learning in my failures, and always keep in mind my
end goal when things don t always go as planned. My biggest weakness is that I always like to be in
control. I like to have a plan, and stick to it. I will overcome this weakness by trusting others to take
lead, and stop worrying about things I have no control over.
I have always been passionate about the environment and especially conservation. I would love to
learn about more ways to put conservation into action. I am a PADI Open Water Certified Scuba

Child Sexual Abuse In Adulthood
Child sexual abuse is a big social problem. We know about sexual abuse, but do we know the different

it can effect a child s mind mentally and then think about how not addressing the issues at hand can
affect them in adulthood. Through much research and practice it was stated that childhood sexual
abuse makes people vulnerable to both mental and physical ill health (NELSON, S., BALDWIN, N.

The Baroque Period Was A Time Of Conflicting Religions,
The Baroque period was a time of conflicting religions, and is one of the major movements in art since
the renaissance era. Beginning in 17th century Italy and later spreading into Northern Europe, the
Baroque era was one that had a mission and an objective in mind: to restore faith back into the
Catholic Church and to counter the growing conversion of protestants. Having already launched the
counter reformation in the 16th century, it did not fare well against Martin Luther s Protestant
Reformation and his 95 thesis of debating points in 1917. Protestant believers argued that faith was the
one and only way to earn salvation and god s grace. Luther accused the church of nepotism and was

Saint Mathew, the figure of interest, is pointed out by the implied lines created with the lines of light
and the pointed hands. One symbolic feature recognized in the piece is the hand of god replicating that
of Adam s hand from Michelangelo s Creation of Adam. This made reference to god being seen as the
new Adam, due to how Adam s action created sin, which resulted in the fall of humanity, Christ
undoes Adam s actions by dying on the cross (McDermott, Mar. 5, 2017, Chaffey College). According
to Painting Techniques used by Caravaggio: Chiaroscuro, Tenebrism, [Caravaggio] s treatment of light
and shadow helped to reinvigorate Italian painting by improving the three dimensionality of figures. In
addition, it allowed artists to control the focus of the painting, thus increasing its dramatic content.
Lastly... it enabled greater emotional depth and characterization. Due to this, Caravaggio was an asset
to the Counter Reformation and allowed people to relate to his paintings and thus gain appeal to the
Catholic Church.
Second, we have Zurbaran who is a Spanish painter during the Baroque era. Influenced by the Italian
artist Caravaggio, he too used tenebrism to create a dramatic and impactful effect in his works. Also
reminiscent of the Italian Baroque is the way that the figure is represented as a scrappy

Hemingway s Use of Economy In The End of Something Essay
Hemingway s Use of Economy In The End of Something
Hemingway is renowned for his brief, simple and economical writing style. This is present in the story
The end of something , but how does he achieve this and what effect does it have on the story.
Hemingway has an economical writing style, which is achieved through the repetition of words. An
example of this is the use of the word said after any dialogue between Marjorie and Nick. This can
seem quite juvenile in style, many authors would be more descriptive, but by repeating this simple and
plain word Hemingway is commenting on the tediousness of their relationship. This is reinforced later
when Nick remarks it isn t fun anymore . When ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are several lines and words in the story that have double meanings and it is for us the reader to
interpret them. An example of this is the word Lying in the following sentence Yes Nick said lying, his
face on the blanket . Lying could mean one of two things, lying face down or not telling the truth. If
we take the former meaning he could be lying because he doesn t want to look at Bill because he feels
guilty, if we take the latter then it suggests that Nick is embarrassed about his actions and doesn t want
to admit that he hurt Marjorie. The use of double entrées make the audience think more about there
own perception and is also economical because it is using one word to convey two meanings. There is
also a vagueness in the story where we the audience are meant to fill in the gaps. For example the
relationship between Bill and Nick is not explained, are they just friends or is there an illusion to a
homoerotic relationship? Making the audience an active reader is the one of the main functions of an
economical style.
The metaphors in the story require an active reader to perceive them. An example of an extended
metaphor in the story is fishing. In this metaphor, Nick is a fish, for whom biting would be deciding to
marry. Marjorie is hopeful that the fish are

The Bad Sides Of Evil In Shakespeare s Hamlet As A Bad Man
Hamlet as a Bad Man The Hamlet is one of the greatest plays by Shakespeare, which provides an
account of an example of the Victorian royal feud. The main character of the play, Hamlet, whose
characters help in providing the directions for the play, depicts different demeanors depending on how
one views him. It is normative for a prince to orchestrate the revenge for the death of his father,
especially if the killer occupies the throne that one is an heir of. The play, therefore, may help in
depicting Hamlet as a bad person in different views in terms of the political crisis that his kingdom
was going through.
The Bad Sides of Hamlet The book The Hamlet by Shakespeare provides an account of a political
crisis that enveloped the kingdom of Denmark. King Claudius murdered his brother and married his
wife queen Gertrude because of malice. The king had a beautiful wife, was prosperous and ruled the
kingdom, all to the envy of his brother. Hamlet, the son of the slain king, was an orderly and well
behaved prince as the play begins. He is in love with Ophelia, and befriends many of the workers in
the palace, until his father s ghost appears to him and exposes to him the truth, requiring him to
avenge the death of his father; So art thou to revenge, when thou shalt hear... (Shakespeare). It is
evident that evil resided in the heart of Hamlet all these while, for from the time the ghost insinuated
at exposing to him who killed his father he retorted, Haste me to know, that I,

Wouter Kellerman Characteristics
1. INTRODUCTION
Wouter Kellerman, a South African flautist, has made an impact in the music world, specifically that
of world music . Developing his own unique cross over style, Kellerman has gained both national and
international fame as indicated by winning a number of prestigious awards and performing at several
prominent national and international events, in addition to concert tours. Furthermore, Kellerman has
released a number of recorded albums, which have been distributed around the world and have
received critical acclaim. However, one of the most notable characteristics of Kellerman is his status
as a cross over engineer musician something which significantly influenced the course of his life and
career.
2. LIFE
2.1 Childhood
Wouter Kellerman grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. Growing up, only classical music was
played in the house, as his parents enjoyed it, thus exposing him to Western art music and enabling
him to develop a love for this genre of music. His love for African music also developed during this
time. When his mother went to work, Kellerman was looked after by a woman who constantly played
African music, thus exposing him to these musical influences from an early age. Additionally,

are often viewed as having a higher status than that of musicians, specifically those who perform art

Great Palace In Constantinople Analysis
The second mosaic image from the Great Palace in Constantinople (500AD) is a very absorbing piece
that brings up many questions when you first look at it. Because Constantinople had a strong tie with
Chariot Racing, specifically at the Circus of Constantinople in the 6th century, it can be assumed that
this image has a connection to that. The first link is the two legs that look like horse hooves in the top
right area of the image, although you cannot tell for sure because the image is cut off. Another
association is the palm branches off to the right, which were a staple in Chariot races as one of the
prizes the victors would be able to hold and wear. The fact that there is a lot of empty space in the
middle signifies that this place had an area which the horses would be able to run the races. ... Show

The wheels the two males are pushing or moving in the image could very well be chariot wheels, and
it is also a possibility that the man on the right is wheeling out replacement wheels as the one on the
left is taking in the damaged ones, or perhaps the man on the right is wheeling out something to bring
back the charioteers body on. Although there is certainly more evidence for helpers on the track that
assisted in clearing up crashes, which this definitely could be an example of, I don t think that we
should discredit the fact that this could also be men assisting in a wheel change, similarly to what
happens in Formula One Racing, and the post could have very likely been a station that held each

Some other nearby countries like India have sanctuaries for these ducks. Some of the things that have

Greek Myths And Stories Serve A Greater Purpose
Greek myths and stories serve a greater purpose than to simply entertain someone. These stories also
serve as a way to teach important lessons and explain the history of certain things.
Although the Epic of Gilgamesh, The Illiad,The Ramayana, and the Golden Compass are all very
different they all have similar aspects that connect the stories and serve a greater purpose. These
myths and stories serve as an insider into what it was like to live in that specific society. Myths allow
us to learn what was not only expected of the citizens but also what was considered normal during this
time.Myths teach us important life lessons and practice that instill better characteristics in those that
hear them. Even thousands of years later these stories continue to influence our society and help to
shape future generations to come. The Epic of Gilgamesh gives a great insight into the culture and
society of Mesopotamia. This epic serves as a way to show the progress human nature makes over
time. For example, in the beginning of the story, Gilgamesh wasn t the best person, he was hated by a

Fast Indian Ethnic Fashion Of The Young College Girls
INTRODUCTION MARKET
Ethnic wear was initially a category that was largely restricted to the older age segment. However, it is
now finding acceptance even among younger consumers, especially women. The young college going
girl teams her Indian kurta with either a pair of denims or leggings that represent a fusion of ethnic
wear with western wear. This has led to brands focusing on ethnic fusion wear product offerings, in
western styles and prints, in order to capture the opportunity. With an interesting interplay of woven,
knits and other fashion brands, these brands have completely redefined ethnic wear for consumers.
The women s ethnic segment currently accounts for an 87% of the total ethnic wear market at INR

Anisotropy And Therapeutic Analysis
This device consists of four primary components, the microphone, speech processor/stimulator, the
wires connecting them, and the inductive charger; yet, only three biological environments need to be
taken into account when selecting which materials should be used to best ensure longevity and
functionality of the device as the inductive charger would reside externally on the patient s person.
(This sentence will be tacked onto the previous paragraph of the deceive description as a transition

In addition, the wires will need to conduct electrical signals received from the microphone and
processor/stimulator and be flexible enough to allow navigating to and from their desired destinations.
To accomplish this, a conductive material with a biocompatible coating is likely to be the most
feasible approach. Currently, the wires in cochlear implants are composed of platinum conductive
wires coated with silicone and this approach is used for good reason. Silicone, as previously stated,
has outstanding biocompatibility, flexibility, stability, softness, water tightness, resistance to corrosion,
and acts as an insulator from electrical stimulus. While platinum is used as the conductive material
because it has low chemical reactivity, is highly corrosion resistant, biocompatible, flexible, and does
not display stimulus induced corrosion resistance like most other conductive metals, meaning it should
last the lifetime of the patient. These properties simply make it the greatest available conductive
material for this application, and by coating it in silicone you remove any potential unwanted exposure

Air Canada Aligned Business Strategy with Information Technology
In 2014, Air Canada achieved its best full year financial performance in the Corporation s 77 year
history, said Calin Rovinescu, President and Chief Executive Officer. (Air Canada Website CIO 2015)
Adjusted net income was $531 million, representing an increase of 56.2 per cent year over year. The
purpose of this paper is to examine how Air Canada in 2011 successfully aligned their business
strategy and Information Technology (IT) by managing information resources on several levels to
accomplish a competitive advantage over other airline carriers and gain the attention of their
customers through innovation. Finally, this paper will address suggestions to achieve better Business
IT alignment to meet Air Canada s goals for the future and continued success.
A significant step towards Air Canada s success was implementing a multiple vendor sourcing strategy
for IT. Utilizing their long time trusted partner, IBM, who was familiar with their industry needs and
company IT standards became the key liaison for expanding additional technologies needed by other
outside vendors. This newly expanded relationship between IBM and Air Canada allowed for the
airliner to concentrate on what they do best which is fly airplanes and IBM to become an invested
partner in the company s success towards innovation because they were like an employee of Air
Canada acting as their main IT sourcing vendor and consultant

While the use and understanding of philosophy goes widely unknown by a majority of the population

While it is clear that Bertrand Russell wished for the continuation of the practice of philosophy, he
acknowledges most people have no idea what philosophy is, outside of the idea of a group of people
thinking about life. With this writing while giving some of the products that have come from
philosophy, he also warns that not all answers can be gained from the philosophy. While definite
answers can be gained through the sciences, philosophic study only raises more uncertainty.
Bertrand Russell supports his arguments with insight that comes from teaching, practicing, and seeing
the effects of philosophy both within himself and the people around him. While studying philosophy
Russell will only intensify the uncertainty about the world around us and the inner workings of our

Palmetto Girl Meeting Experience
During July of this past summer, I had the experience of a lifetime at Palmetto Girls State. I spent a
week getting to know so many different girls and making friendships that still last today, all while
learning about South Carolina s government and political system. On the first night there we had to
vote for our city offices, although we had all just met each other, I won mayor for my city. That only
required talking in front of about fifteen girls; which I had no problem with and was completely
comfortable doing. After that I knew the competition would get more intense and I had to step up my
game if I wanted to win a congressional election. We would have city meetings every night to share
our plans for the week, and to share any struggles we were having. My counselor told us that we could
come to her if we needed any help preparing speeches or campaigning. All the girls were talking about
who was running for what position, but some said they didn t want to even run. Up next came the
county elections; which although was a larger group of girls, didn t stop me from going up there and

Analysis Of Heart Of Darkness By Joseph Conrad
Professor J. Wilson
Fiction 134

The effects of imperialism in Heart of Darkness written by Joseph Conrad
Conrad displays many realistic example of imperialism and how the characters in this book act under
certain circumstances. In this book, Heart of Darkness, A group of men are aboard an English ship. It
is sitting on the mouth of the Thames. The group on the ship consists of a Lawyer, an Accountant, and
one of the Company Director. The Company director is also the captain. The protagonist and narrator
is Marlow. He got a job on the ship because of his aunt who has connections to the Company. The
other narrator is an unnamed guest on the ship too. While they are casually sailing and waiting for the
wind to pick up so that they can continue their voyage, Marlow begins to speak about his experiences
in London and Europe. He describes them as some of the worst times of his life because of the
darkness he has experienced there. Marlow has always had a passion for travel and exploration since
his childhood, upon doing research it seems to be that the author, Joseph Conrad, portrays his personal
life and his experiences growing up into Marlow s experiences. This is especially seen when
portraying imperialism in the book because unlike most of the other characters in the book, Marlow is
completely against imperialism and imperialistic ways. It can be suggested that the author feels the
same way from how he presents Marlow and how the author presented himself

Lenin s Legacy
Throughout the 1800s and into the 1900s the industrial revolution s unparalleled level of change
pushed the world into a new era. While change occurred throughout this time, the most radical was the
implementation of Communist ideology in Tsarist Russia. In a series of revolutions, Vladimir Lenin
seized power for the Bolsheviks, establishing the world s first Communist based government. Lenin
found himself in the predicament of building a state which would wither away, something Marx
claimed would happen naturally. However, this had never been attempted before, and quickly Lenin
found himself in a series of trial and error tests. Lenin s untimely death brought about more immense

Lenin s revolution placed himself suddenly in a situation which Marx had never written from. The
revolution occurred, Bolsheviks had seized power, and suddenly a state would have to be developed
that would wither away while at the same time facing a civil crisis; a task deemed near impossible
(Lecture, Hoston March 7th). Lenin s own arguments prior to this held a much more anarchical view,
advocating for the abolition of the army, of long term bureaucracy, and of the police force (State and
Revolution 339). These calls would not be what went into effect in the end. It is here we see the first
of the many major departures from Lenin s original theory which began to address the reality Russia
was in. Lenin had realized that a state had to be strong at some point, even if marching towards
communism as Communism, makes the state absolutely unnecessary, for there is nobody to be
oppressed (State and Revolution 375). At the point Lenin was in power, the communists still had those

How Far Do The Benefits Of Ex-Offenders
Each individual in this universe has committed an error at some point. Individuals need to forgive and
never look back. Individuals do things not realizing that they are pernicious and belittling. And in
stern time, everybody deserves another opportunity in life. In generally these renewed opportunities
are not given. Another opportunity resembles a present for individuals who commit errors. It permits
them to gain from their first oversight and make a superior showing with regard to the second time
around. The principal issues to consider here is the reason we imprison individuals. We imprison ex
offenders to expel them from society, to keep them carrying out further mistakes, one type of
prevention. We imprison ex offenders as a type of societal requital, albeit few individual will concede
that. When we give them another opportunity or imprison them to restore them, so that when they are
discharged, they can be better individuals from society. Therefore, Family likewise has basic impact in
restoring ex offenders. Knowing from the start that has the full support of family would most likely

Analysis Of Death Of The Moth By Virginia Woolf
In The Death of The Moth by Virginia Woolf, we have a story about a moth that flies during the day
that eventually dies by the end of our story. The story of how the moth tries to beat death by always
moving and showing that he has life is one that is fought by all creatures. The way his wings are
yellow and the way they mix with the sun to show he is a day moth instead of a moth that we
commonly see at night is connected to how we ourselves dress ourselves as people that signify who
we are. The moth is pointed out to be a day moth instead of a night moth. The moth is depicted as
somewhere between a butterfly and a normal moth. Virginia Woolf makes an excellent story about
people and moths. In The Death of the Moth we see this who is fluttering outside the narrator s
window. We see how the moth, like everything else in the world, is soaking up the sun, which is also
heating its little body with life. The moth in this story is like every other living thing on the planet
earth. The moth wants to live and not die. This does not become apparent until later in the story. When
we see the moth finally land, and we understand that this is his last struggle against death. A way of
telling death that it could beat death. The moth struggles for what seems to be about a minute. The
moth eventually dies on the window sill and death finally beats down its victim. This represents how
many of people see someone on the street going about their everyday business, and nothing seems to

Similarities And Differences Between The Crucible And Mr Hale
In the play, The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, there are some similarities and differences between Mr.
Hale and I. Mr. Hale is a Reverend from Beverly, who s called to Salem by Reverend Parris to help
wake his daughter, Betty, who fell ill after being caught in the woods summoning the devil. While
dealing with accusations of witchcraft, Mr. Hale acts a certain way which can define his character.
When he first arrives in Salem he remains hopeful. Towards the middle of the play he tries to help
more by getting involved with the court trials, which ends up causing bigger problems. At the end of
the play, Mr. Hale notices the good in those who are in jail and goes out of his way to help them.
Overall, Mr. Hale s character is considered optimistic and valuable, which relates to myself. When Mr.
Hale was first introduced in the play, he maintained a positive attitude and remained hopeful. After he
arrived in Salem and heard rumors of witches and the devil flying around, he informed the community
that he ll control the situation and destroy the devil. Have no fear now we shall find him out if he has
come among us, and I mean to crush him utterly if he has shown his face! (39). By hoping to clear up
this mess, Mr. Hale reads from his books with hope that it ll break Betty away from the devil and
assuage the situation entirely. I m like Mr. Hale in this case because when the worst may be brought
upon me, I remain hopeful that I can push through it. We both won t quit when we re faced with a
tough decision that doesn t have a clear solution, but instead we put our effort into solving whatever
the problem may be, before it gets any worse. As the play perseveres, more similarities and differences
between Mr. Hale and I surface. Quickly after Mr. Hale s arrival in Salem, the situation regarding
witchcraft escalates. Mr. Hale gets sucked into the middle of something which didn t impact his life
personally in the first place. As rumors of the devil spread around, more names known to be seen with
him are mentioned in the court. Mr. Hale takes it upon himself to visit the houses of those who are
accused of involvement in witchcraft. No no, I come of my own, without the court s authority. Hear

also the fact his facial expression makes him seem very lonely and distant. In almost al of the scenes

peak performance in both single and doubleprecision.
Using KNC as a standalone many core processor results in an averaged performance of 406.62
Gflops/s in single precision, which is above 20% of the theoretical peak.
But the averaged double precision performance reduces dramatically to 111.63 Gflops/s, which is just
over 10% of the peak performance. When KNC is used as a coprocessor, which is a much more
common case, the cost of data transfer between the main memory and the device memory should be

And the results, shown as KNC+offload indicate that the performance drop due to the data transfer is
substantial; only around 6% to 8% of the peak performance is sustained in double and single precision

Apple Pay Is A Method Of Payment Using Mobile And Virtual...
Abstract: Apple Pay is a method of payment using mobile and virtual wallet provided by Apple Inc
and was launched in 2014. It enables the users to make payments using smartphones like iPhone 6, 6
Plus, 6S and 6S Plus, and Apple Watch compatible devices. It digitizes and replaces the need of credit
or debit card and their usual chip and PIN or magnetic stripe method for transactions. Although similar
technologies have been around for a while, it s lacking the broad infrastructure support to make the
mainstream mode of payment. Introduction: Apple Pay is similar to other contactless payments
already being used since 2011 when Research In Motion was certified by MasterCard Worldwide.
Though it s gaining users, at present only about 14% of US households have linked a card to Apple
Pay, increased just a few percentage from the 11% the company reported at the beginning of 2015.
Although Apple has managed to get a big portion of major retail and restaurant chains to integrate
Apple Pay method, it s the small businesses and regional markets that contributes to the significant
number of purchases, which means in order to impact the global payment method and make this
innovation the future, Apple needs to work with both the customers and the global businesses and
facilitate the establishment of the infrastructure that will make it easier to use it in daily basis.

In 1903 a Russian physiologist by the name of Ivan Pavlov first developed an experiential model of

conditioned that when the bell rings its dinner time thus begins to salivate, and eventually learns to be
conditioned to responding to the bell in a specific manner. The bases was that neutral stimulus would
be put together with an excitatory one and over time the neutral stimulus would, at some point down
the line elicit the response that was associated with the original unlearned response. Pavlov later added
an element known as the nonexcitatory, conditioned stimulus which is but together with an
unconditioned stimulus (Lautenheiser 1999). Classic Conditioning can also be known as stimulus

the Classical Conditioning. There are two basic forms of associative conditioning, classical and
operant. Both Ivan Pavlov and John Watson were the first contributors to these behaviorist theories.
Ivan Pavlov s theory came about by working a dog and John Watson worked his classical conditioning

Blood Pressure Lab Report
The purpose of this experiment is to test how how different water temperatures affect blood pressure.
The first step of the experiment s procedure was to create a baseline. We did this by taking the normal
blood pressure of the subject. We then submerged the subject s feet in three different water
temperatures; cold. room temperature, and warm. The experiment showed that cold water increases
blood pressure while warm water and room temperature water causes blood pressure to decrease. In
conclusion water temperature does have an effect on blood pressure.
Background:
Blood pressure is the pressure exerted by the blood on the artery s walls. Blood pressure readings are
written by putting a person s systolic pressure over diastolic pressure. Systolic pressure is the pressure
in the blood vessels when the heart is beating. Diastolic blood pressure is the pressure in blood vessels
when the heart is resting between beats. It is measured in the unit of millimeters of mercury or mmHg.
The normal blood pressure for an adult should average at about 120/80 mmHg. Anything
grammatically higher than that number is considered high blood pressure and anything below is low
blood pressure. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cuff is wrapped around a person s arm and is inflated. The cuff applies pressure on the brachial
artery and cuts off circulation to the arm as it inflates. The systolic pressure is measured once blood
begins to flow into the arm again.
Hypothesis:
When feet are submerged in cold water they will cause blood pressure to rise and when feet are in
warm and room temperature water blood pressure will stay at normal levels.

Oskar Shindler
Set in 1939, many Polish Jews were being relocated to the town of Krakow, Poland, following the
Polish armies defeat to the German forces. Successful business owner and Nazi supporter Oskar
Schindler (Played by Liam Neeson) arrives to use the labor of the Jews to produce supplies in his
factory for the Nazi Army. However, Schindler doesn t quite know how to run such a thriving
company, so he hires a high ranking official in the Jewish Council, Itzhak Stern ( Ben Kingsley) to
handle administration. In order to get workers, Schindler and Stern compose a list of many Jews from
nearby Ghettos to come work at the factory. This inadvertently saves them from being sent to a
concentration camp run by Amon Göth (Ralph Fiennes). During the mass exodus of the Ghetto ...

Immediately Schindler races to the camp to save the Jews. Luckily, during a shower scene in the
movie, the gas never came out of the faucets, just water. Schindler arrives and then bribes the Nazi
officer in charge with a cache of diamonds, and receives control of the Jews he came for. After a small
altercation in which some of the officers tried to keep some children, the Jews were off to Schindler s
factory. After arriving at the factory, Schindler then imposes rules on the Nazi guards, including no
executions. The Soviet Army is approaching and since he is marked as a slave driver, Schindler must
flee. After telling his workers this, he is told that he is not a bad man in their eyes, and the heartful
quote of He who saves the life of one man, saves the world entire , Schindler dresses in the clothes of
a Polish refugee and leaves. The Jews are awoken by the liberation of the soviet army in the morning
and search a nearby town for food. An ending scene shows that Oskar Schindler was deemed a
righteous man by the Yad Vashem of Jerusalem, and has a tree planted in his

Ezra Pound Essay

U.S Literature
June 19th, 2015
A life of Ezra Pound Ezra Pound was a highly controversial poet in modern literature. Although he
was attributed for enabling modernism movement in American literature, he was also criticized for his
aesthetic and political views. With the enthusiasm for poetry, Pound filled most of his life with poetry.
Pound was a very passionate poet. He insisted on knowing more about poetry than anyone else do. In
his article How I Began, Pound claimed that he was resolved to know more about poetry than any man
living. Therefore, in order to accomplish his goal, he settled in London and built his reputation as a
member of the literary avant garde. He was renowned for his enthusiastic advocacy of contemporary
works.
He was found of and talented in poetry since he was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1908, in Venice, Pound published his first poetry book A Lume Spento. He adopted dramatic
monologue and reflected spiritualism in the poetry. It was evaluated as original, poetic and passionate.
Pound s first major critical work, The Spirit of Romance was published in 1910, in London. It was a
literary criticism dealing with a variety of European literature. His work was regarded as the best critic
of poetry in some way to some writers. Moreover, in 1912, he starts to develop the field of Imagism,
which he later becomes famous for. With his passion for classic Chinese and Japanese poems, he
emphasized economy of words and concrete and direct description after thorough observation.
Another masterpiece of Ezra s is The Cantos. It was an unfinished 120 section poem when Ezra died.
The Cantos took almost his lifetime. He was working on it from 1915 to 1962. The Cantos was unique
in its style, in that it involved Chinese characters and other European languages other than English. Its
contents and style made itself one of the most significant works of modernist poetry in the 20th

The Mexican-American War Essay
Regardless of the decade or the country a person lives in, there seems to be a reckless disregard for the
toll a war can take on human lives. When the Alamo was fought back in February 1836, it was about
the independence of Texas from Mexico. In retaliation of the death and destruction of human life, Sam
Houston retaliated in April and killed 630 Mexican soldiers and took General Santa Anna prisoner
(Tindall Shi, 2010). This was the start of the independence of Texas and the quest for annexation into
the United States, which ultimately led to the Mexican American War of 1846 1848. This paper will
briefly explain the reasons for the Mexican American War and will describe the outcome of the war.
The Reasons Numerous reasons can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The belief was that America had a God given right, or destiny, to expand the country s border from the
Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean (Lee, 2011). Tension arose between the US and Mexico in 1846
after an attempt to purchase the California and New Mexico Territories was rebuffed over a border
dispute. In Texas, the situation worsened when the southern border was disputed. Mexico claimed the
border at the Nueces River, while Texas claimed the border at the Rio Grande. President Polk wanted
to goad the Mexicans into a conflict to obtain Texas while also securing New Mexico and California,
however; it was essential that Mexico commence it (Tindall Shi, 2010). On May 9, 1846 the Mexicans
attacked US soldiers, President Polk s scheme worked. On May 13, 1846 President Polk signed the
declaration of war. The Mexican American War had begun.
The Outcome With no actual war plan, the Mexican war was fought on four fronts southern Texas,
central Mexico, New Mexico, and California (Tindall Shi, 2010). The military on both sides were ill
prepared for fighting the war. The US Army consisted of roughly 7,000 soldiers, while the Mexican
forces consisted of 32,000 soldiers. By the time the war was over the number had risen to 104,000
American forces. Some were volunteers for six and 12 month enlistments. General Taylor, who would
eventually become President of the United States in 1849, became popular with the two victories north

Volcom is a manufacturer of Boardsport related clothing and accessories. Based in Velcro Valley south
of Los Angeles the company s core values speak volumes about their marketing and sales goals and
objectives. The Volcom philosophy, stated as, youth against establishment , implies that their aim is, at
the very least, different from normal capitalist Free Trade established ways and means, and their
history highlights the differences. The new Volcom New Future initiative is an example of their sales

...even in a down turning economy, Volcom s 2008 consolidated revenues increased 24.5% to $334.4

Volcom has found, or was founded in (and is nurturing) the boardsport niche in apparel and
accessories. It does not look to grow quickly, but to take advantage of this niche.
It is also expanding the ancillary markets to this niche in both music and video. Music and video have
been a small portion of the Volcom portfolio (about 1% of earnings), but based upon the fact that the
music and video arenas are wonderful marketing tools and that they are making, and not costing,
profit they are worth much more than this 1%. Add to that the fact that at any moment a video or audio
component to catch on and rise to the top. Such an event (or events) would add exponentially to the
bottom line. Between profits and marketing, a star could mean millions added to the net income.
Volcom is also gradually expanding its foreign presence (income from foreign markets up by 125% in
the last 4 years).

Dagoberto Gilb Narcissism
Do you know the story of Narcissus? He was the very handsome fellow in Greek mythology who,
because of his indifference and disdain toward others, was punished by the gods by falling in love
with his own image. He was so enraptured by his beauty that he was unable to pull himself away from
his own reflection, and he wasted away and died. Narcissism is also considered a social and cultural
problem in America. It s not surprising to see a rise in narcissism in this generation given that young
people are being bombarded by these messages and sorts of commercial all day, every day through
every form of media. It is the same with Jake who is the main character in the story Love in L.A by
Dagoberto Gilb. In the story, Jake is consumed with himself and with gaining more pleasure for
himself. He wants much more than he has, and he wants it for him to be appraised by many women
and finally fell in love with him. He clearly sees himself as a ladies man and uses every opportunity to
COLLECT them. He thinks that having all the luxurious things will make him feel like invincible, like
he is the greatest human being that god created. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Event I Decided At Attend
The event I chose to attend would be the S.M.A.R.T (Students of Color Mentoring, Aiding, Retaining,
and Teaching) life size game of Life. I finally decided to go to this event was because, with all of the
classes reflecting on privilege and diversity I wanted to take this chance and learn more about the
subject beyond class. This was a little outside of my comfort zone because S.M.A.R.T only consist of
people of color, and even though I have a good deal of Native American in me I know that I am seen
as a White Caucasian. Before attending this event I can easily say I was a bit timid to attend knowing
that this would be a completely new experience for me. There is always a hush tone when dealing with
diversity and racial matters, and I was afraid that I would be seen as someone who does not care about
today s society and its racial discrimination. There is always that line of being color blind like we
spoke about in class and the line of almost teaching about diversity as if we do face it the same even
though we have not gone through these hard ships. I did not want to ignore their hardships and yet, I
did not want to come off as if I understand their hardships. When I first walked into the event it was
actually like a breath of fresh air. There were people laughing and screaming and running. I wanted to
join immediately. The fame was simple each person would receive a name tag at the point of entry and
there would be a secret code of colors and shapes on each name tag that

This is present in the story The end of something , but how does he achieve this and what effect does it have on the story. Hemingway has an economical writing style, which is achieved through the repetition of words. An example of this is the use of the word said after any dialogue between Marjorie and Nick. This can seem quite juvenile in style, many authors would be more descriptive, but by repeating this simple and plain word Hemingway is commenting on the tediousness of their relationship. This is reinforced later when Nick remarks it isn t fun anymore . When ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are several lines and words in the story that have double meanings and it is for us the reader to interpret them. An example of this is the word Lying in the following sentence Yes Nick said lying, his face on the blanket . Lying could mean one of two things, lying face down or not telling the truth. If we take the former meaning he could be lying because he doesn t want to look at Bill because he feels guilty, if we take the latter then it suggests that Nick is embarrassed about his actions and doesn t want to admit that he hurt Marjorie. The use of double entrées make the audience think more about there own perception and is also economical because it is using one word to convey two meanings. There is also a vagueness in the story where we the audience are meant to fill in the gaps. For example the relationship between Bill and Nick is not explained, are they just friends or is there an illusion to a homoerotic relationship? The first link is the two legs that look like horse hooves in the top right area of the image, although you cannot tell for sure because the image is cut off. Another association is the palm branches off to the right, which were a staple in Chariot races as one of the prizes the victors would be able to hold and wear. While the use and understanding of philosophy goes widely unknown by a majority of the population today, a selective few have recognized its potential and utilized it to its fullest. In the following essay, three prominent philosophers; Bertrand Russell, Ayn Rand, and Christopher Hitchens. Each gives their insight to three important topics; the value of philosophy, using philosophy and its value, and the importance of freedom of speech. With this writing while giving some of the products that have come from philosophy, he also warns that not all answers can be gained from the philosophy. While definite answers can be gained through the sciences, philosophic study only raises more uncertainty. Bertrand Russell supports his arguments with insight that comes from teaching, practicing, and seeing the effects of philosophy both within himself and the people around him. While studying philosophy Russell will only intensify the uncertainty about the world around us and the inner workings of our mind. Likewise in support of Russell s argument, the study of sciences that is aforementioned such as; Phycology, Astronomy, and Physics which were originally pondered by philosophers has moved from philosophical theory to scientific study. Likewise with the pursuit and study of philosophy, the likelihood of the student holding on to the dogmatism, and predigests that is set forth by society and past experiences. While change occurred throughout this time, the most radical was the implementation of Communist ideology in Tsarist Russia. In a series of revolutions, Vladimir Lenin seized power for the Bolsheviks, establishing the world s first Communist based government. Lenin found himself in the predicament of building a state which would wither away, something Marx claimed would happen naturally. Lenin s revolution placed himself suddenly in a situation which Marx had never written from. The revolution occurred, Bolsheviks had seized power, and suddenly a state would have to be developed that would wither away while at the same time facing a civil crisis; a task deemed near impossible (Lecture, Hoston March 7th). Lenin s own arguments prior to this held a much more anarchical view, advocating for the abolition of the army, of long term bureaucracy, and of the police force (State and Revolution 339). These calls would not be what went into effect in the end. It is here we see the first of the many major departures from Lenin s original theory which began to address the reality Russia was in. Another opportunity resembles a present for individuals who commit errors. It permits them to gain from their first oversight and make a superior showing with regard to the second time around. The principal issues to consider here is the reason we imprison individuals. We imprison ex offenders to expel them from society, to keep them carrying out further mistakes, one type of prevention. We imprison ex offenders as a type of societal requital, albeit few individual will concede that. When we give them another opportunity or imprison them to restore them, so that when they are discharged, they can be better individuals from society. • 36. Analysis Of Death Of The Moth By Virginia Woolf In The Death of The Moth by Virginia Woolf, we have a story about a moth that flies during the day that eventually dies by the end of our story. The story of how the moth tries to beat death by always moving and showing that he has life is one that is fought by all creatures. The way his wings are yellow and the way they mix with the sun to show he is a day moth instead of a moth that we commonly see at night is connected to how we ourselves dress ourselves as people that signify who we are. The moth is pointed out to be a day moth instead of a night moth. The moth is depicted as somewhere between a butterfly and a normal moth. Virginia Woolf makes an excellent story about people and moths. In The Death of the Moth we see this who is fluttering outside the narrator s window. We see how the moth, like everything else in the world, is soaking up the sun, which is also heating its little body with life. The moth in this story is like every other living thing on the planet earth. The moth wants to live and not die. This does not become apparent until later in the story. When we see the moth finally land, and we understand that this is his last struggle against death. A way of telling death that it could beat death. The moth struggles for what seems to be about a minute. The moth eventually dies on the window sill and death finally beats down its victim. • 37. Similarities And Differences Between The Crucible And Mr Hale In the play, The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, there are some similarities and differences between Mr. Hale and I. Mr. Hale is a Reverend from Beverly, who s called to Salem by Reverend Parris to help wake his daughter, Betty, who fell ill after being caught in the woods summoning the devil. While dealing with accusations of witchcraft, Mr. Hale acts a certain way which can define his character. When he first arrives in Salem he remains hopeful. Towards the middle of the play he tries to help more by getting involved with the court trials, which ends up causing bigger problems. At the end of the play, Mr. Hale notices the good in those who are in jail and goes out of his way to help them. Overall, Mr. Hale s character is considered optimistic and valuable, which relates to myself. When Mr. Hale was first introduced in the play, he maintained a positive attitude and remained hopeful. After he arrived in Salem and heard rumors of witches and the devil flying around, he informed the community that he ll control the situation and destroy the devil. Have no fear now we shall find him out if he has come among us, and I mean to crush him utterly if he has shown his face! (39). By hoping to clear up this mess, Mr. Hale reads from his books with hope that it ll break Betty away from the devil and assuage the situation entirely. I m like Mr. Hale in this case because when the worst may be brought upon me, I remain hopeful that I can push through it. We both won t quit when we re faced with a tough decision that doesn t have a clear solution, but instead we put our effort into solving whatever the problem may be, before it gets any worse. As the play perseveres, more similarities and differences between Mr. Hale and I surface. Quickly after Mr. Hale s arrival in Salem, the situation regarding witchcraft escalates. Mr. Hale gets sucked into the middle of something which didn t impact his life personally in the first place. As rumors of the devil spread around, more names known to be seen with him are mentioned in the court. For KNC, the SIMD widths in SP and DP are 16 and 8 respectively, but a performance gap of 3 to 4 times in SP and DP is observed, which is well beyond the ratio of SIMD width. This is because the performance of where clauses for WS/DMMPs schemes on KNC is sensitive to the SIMD width as described in the section of SW26010 optimization. The wider the SIMD vectorization is supported, the better performance efficiency can be obtained. Unlike IVB and KNC, SW26010 has the same SIMD width of 4 in both SP and DP and no auto vectorization is supported by the compiler on this platform so far. Thus, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is observed that on IVB the averaged floating point performance can reach to as high as 45% of the peak performance in both single and doubleprecision. Using KNC as a standalone many core processor results in an averaged performance of 406.62 Gflops/s in single precision, which is above 20% of the theoretical peak. But the averaged double precision performance reduces dramatically to 111.63 Gflops/s, which is just over 10% of the peak performance. When KNC is used as a coprocessor, which is a much more common case, the cost of data transfer between the main memory and the device memory should be included. And the results, shown as KNC+offload indicate that the performance drop due to the data transfer is substantial; only around 6% to 8% of the peak performance is sustained in double and single precision respectively. As a many core processor, SW26010 does not need the data transfer between the main memory and the device memory, and the performance is satisfactory as compared to the KNC in offload mode, especially in the single precision case. • 42. Comparison Of Ivan Pavlov And John Watson In 1903 a Russian physiologist by the name of Ivan Pavlov first developed an experiential model of learning called Classical Conditioning (Lautenheiser 1999). An example if Classical Conditioning would be ringing a bell when it is time for your pet to eat. The pet hears the bell and over time is conditioned that when the bell rings its dinner time thus begins to salivate, and eventually learns to be conditioned to responding to the bell in a specific manner. The bases was that neutral stimulus would be put together with an excitatory one and over time the neutral stimulus would, at some point down the line elicit the response that was associated with the original unlearned response. Pavlov later added an element known as the nonexcitatory, conditioned stimulus which is but together with an unconditioned stimulus (Lautenheiser 1999). Classic Conditioning can also be known as stimulus response, conditioned response, respondent condition as these are the behaviors that take place during the Classical Conditioning. There are two basic forms of associative conditioning, classical and operant. Both Ivan Pavlov and John Watson were the first contributors to these behaviorist theories. The first step of the experiment s procedure was to create a baseline. We did this by taking the normal blood pressure of the subject. We then submerged the subject s feet in three different water temperatures; cold. room temperature, and warm. The experiment showed that cold water increases blood pressure while warm water and room temperature water causes blood pressure to decrease. In conclusion water temperature does have an effect on blood pressure. Background: Blood pressure is the pressure exerted by the blood on the artery s walls. Blood pressure readings are written by putting a person s systolic pressure over diastolic pressure. Systolic pressure is the pressure in the blood vessels when the heart is beating. Diastolic blood pressure is the pressure in blood vessels when the heart is resting between beats. It is measured in the unit of millimeters of mercury or mmHg. • 47. The Mexican-American War Essay Regardless of the decade or the country a person lives in, there seems to be a reckless disregard for the toll a war can take on human lives. When the Alamo was fought back in February 1836, it was about the independence of Texas from Mexico. In retaliation of the death and destruction of human life, Sam Houston retaliated in April and killed 630 Mexican soldiers and took General Santa Anna prisoner (Tindall Shi, 2010). This was the start of the independence of Texas and the quest for annexation into the United States, which ultimately led to the Mexican American War of 1846 1848. This paper will briefly explain the reasons for the Mexican American War and will describe the outcome of the war. The Reasons Numerous reasons can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Texas, the situation worsened when the southern border was disputed. Mexico claimed the border at the Nueces River, while Texas claimed the border at the Rio Grande. President Polk wanted to goad the Mexicans into a conflict to obtain Texas while also securing New Mexico and California, however; it was essential that Mexico commence it (Tindall Shi, 2010). It does not look to grow quickly, but to take advantage of this niche. It is also expanding the ancillary markets to this niche in both music and video. Music and video have been a small portion of the Volcom portfolio (about 1% of earnings), but based upon the fact that the music and video arenas are wonderful marketing tools and that they are making, and not costing, profit they are worth much more than this 1%. • 50. Dagoberto Gilb Narcissism Do you know the story of Narcissus? He was the very handsome fellow in Greek mythology who, because of his indifference and disdain toward others, was punished by the gods by falling in love with his own image. He was so enraptured by his beauty that he was unable to pull himself away from his own reflection, and he wasted away and died. Narcissism is also considered a social and cultural problem in America. It s not surprising to see a rise in narcissism in this generation given that young people are being bombarded by these messages and sorts of commercial all day, every day through every form of media. It is the same with Jake who is the main character in the story Love in L.A by Dagoberto Gilb. In the story, Jake is consumed with himself and with gaining more pleasure for himself. He wants much more than he has, and he wants it for him to be appraised by many women and finally fell in love with him. He clearly sees himself as a ladies man and uses every opportunity to COLLECT them. • 51. The Event I Decided At Attend The event I chose to attend would be the S.M.A.R.T (Students of Color Mentoring, Aiding, Retaining, and Teaching) life size game of Life. I finally decided to go to this event was because, with all of the classes reflecting on privilege and diversity I wanted to take this chance and learn more about the subject beyond class. This was a little outside of my comfort zone because S.M.A.R.T only consist of people of color, and even though I have a good deal of Native American in me I know that I am seen as a White Caucasian. Before attending this event I can easily say I was a bit timid to attend knowing that this would be a completely new experience for me. There is always a hush tone when dealing with diversity and racial matters, and I was afraid that I would be seen as someone who does not care about today s society and its racial discrimination. There is always that line of being color blind like we spoke about in class and the line of almost teaching about diversity as if we do face it the same even though we have not gone through these hard ships. I did not want to ignore their hardships and yet, I did not want to come off as if I understand their hardships. When I first walked into the event it was actually like a breath of fresh air. There were people laughing and screaming and running. I wanted to join immediately. The fame was simple each person would receive a name tag at the point of entry and there would be a secret code of colors and shapes on each name tag that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
