How Does Nagaina Change Throughout The Novel
Characterization is how a character is defined. We understand characters in the literature by paying
attention to what they say, what they do, and how other characters react to them. In Rikki Tikki Tavi
by Rudyard Kipling, Rikki Tikki, a young brave mongoose who has been washed out of his burrow
due to a high summer flood. He found himself in the garden of a nice human family who adopts him
and he decides to protect the human family from snakes. In the garden, he met the bullies, Nag and
Nagaina. They both fight with each other for the control of the garden. In the end, Rikki Tikki Tavi
killed them and made the garden a peaceful place. Based on the clues from the text, Nagaina can be
characterized as evil.

After Rikki Tikki killed the Nag in the bathroom, in the morning when he went into the garden he saw
Darzee and asked him for his help, but he just kept singing triumph. Instead of Darzee, Darzee s wife
decided to help Rikki Tikki by diverting Nagaina s attention while Rikki Tikki kills her eggs. When
there were three eggs to kill, Rikki Tikki heard Darzee s wife screaming that Nagaina went into the
house. Rikki Tikki raced toward the house. When he went into the house he saw that Nagaina was
holding the family hostage, so he could see them getting killed. On page 25 author mentioned, ...stay
still. I am not ready yet. Wait a little.....If you move I strike, and if you don t move, I strike. Oh,
foolish people, who killed my Nag! The method of characterization that is used is defined by
characters actions or words. This proves that Nagaina is evil because she is waiting for Rikki Tikki to
see his human family getting killed. She is enjoying their white faces. She is making Teddy s family
scared before she kills them, so she could get the best of her

Argumentative Essay On The Color Purple
According to the Collins Dictionary, the term belittle is when you speak of (something) as less
valuable or important than it really is . When evaluating the given definition, the word something is
key to the topic that will be delivered. This is because The color Purple by Alice Walker exemplifies
the time period between 1910 1940 in which the belittling of women was very common. The word
something stands out because during this time period (1910 1940) women were treated as things and
not human beings, which is why the definition given by the Collins Dictionary represents more
completely the conduct usually men manifested. We can infer that belittling falls into the category of
abuse, mainly because when you abuse of someone, either physically or emotionally, you make the
person feel inferior and powerless. Throughout the novel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

now looked at Celie with other eyes and started to feel actual emotions towards her. In another case,
Moraima Oyola took her situations as an experience for a positive outcome. Both had an alteration in
their way of thinking and acting, which is why they are an example to other women. When receiving
abuse of any kind women usually keep it to themselves because they fear things will get worst.
Fortunately, in the society we are living today our laws protect us from this abuse. This is why my
recommendation to women is to stand up and confront the situation, not necessarily with the abuser
but with high forces that will ensure safety. No women nor men deserves to be disrespected or feel
useless due to others. This is why I am a feminist, which according to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a

Macroeconomics

Keynes vs. Hayek
Macroeconomics is a branch of economics dealing with the performance, structure, behavior, and
decision making of the whole economy. Macroeconomists study aggregated indicators such as GDP,
unemployment rates, and price indices to understand how the whole economy functions. They develop
models that explain the relationship between such factors as national income, output, consumption,
unemployment, inflation, savings, investment, international trade and international finance.
The two major theories of economics are Classical Economics and Keynesian Economics. Classical
economists believe that markets function very well, will quickly react to any ... Show more content on

In 1974, Hayek shared the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences (with his political rival,
Gunnar Myrdal) for his pioneering work in the theory of money and economic fluctuations and...
penetrating analysis of the interdependence of economic, social and institutional phenomena . He
considered the efficient allocation of capital to be the most important factor leading to sustainable and
optimal GDP growth, and warned of harms from monetary authority manipulation of interest rates.
Interest rates should be set naturally by equilibrium between consumption of goods or capital stock.
He is considered to be a major economist and political philosopher of the twentieth century. He was an
important contributor to the Austrian school of economic thought. He also contributed to the fields of
systems thinking, jurisprudence, neuroscience and the history of ideas.
These two great thinkers had more in common than it is usually thought, including their idea of what
is a civilized society and how assuming their colleagues economists may be when they pretend to
know . This can be traced in their correspondence. But their views on the monetary system radically
differed. As an article states that Hayek viewed the market as capable to correct itself, when facing
shocks, by taking advantage of competitive forces, and regarded government and central bankers
policy efforts to restore growth as causes of more instability. On the other hand, Keynes viewed

Jordan Dbq Essay
Introduction: Fighting and finishing Israel is of most importance to maintain our position in the Arab
world. The republic of Jordan after the six day war against Israel had lost a lot of territory including
the west bank, which was a big chunk of land, which Jordan had. According to new testaments Jordan
s King Hussein made it clear to Prime Minister Golda Meir that he must do so as to preserve his
position in the Arab world, and asked Israel not to attack Jordan.
Since Jordan was a part of the Arabic community of countries it had to make a decision to fight with
them or to let this war pass. Jordan making the correct decision made a final decision and decided that
they were not going to attack Israel because they came to a conclusion that if they did they would
loose more land. When Syria went at war Jordan had no other choice but to send men to aid and help
out his brother countries. But as soon as Jordan took the action of sending 500 men and artillery to
Syria and Egypt but every time their men were going take some kind of action they would acted
slowly and cautiously if they could. Jordan as a whole really did want to get into a war with Israel they
just had to pretend they were so, so they would be still in the Arabic community.

Silent Witnesses: The Kitty Genovese Murder 1. After the 1964 murder of Kitty Genovese, John
Darley and Bibb Latane were in shock as the rest of the city/world that a 28 year old lady could be
stabbed in a neighborhood with about 38 by standers or more and say or do nothing. Why didn t
anyone try and help her? How could people stand by and watch this go on? People speculated that the
failure of people to get involved might be due more to the influence (socially) that bystanders have on
each other. To test this theory, Darley and Latane, two psychologists, decided to conduct a study.

Keeping The Drinking Age At 21 Essay
Each year, approximately 5,000 young people under the age of 21 die as a result of underage drinking
. Keeping the drinking age at 21 will keep lives on the road for young adults safer. The amount of
underage drinking accidents will decrease if we kept the age at 21. It has been a law since 1998 to
keep the age at 21. Keeping the age for drinking at 21 is the best and safest options for young adults. If
we didn t keep the age at 21 imagine how many drunk driving accidents there would be. Lowering the
age will increase the amount of consequences young adults will receive in their future. The evidence is
clear that there would be consequences if we lowered the legal drinking age . A lot of young adults
will go out and drink and not think about it sufficiently about what will happen if you enter a car with

Carbon Fiber As A Chemical Compound
Carbon fibre is a chemical compound that is composed of a long chain of carbon atoms bonded to
each other using covalent bonds. The covalent bonds are formed under extreme conditions of heat and
pressure and may combine a carbon compound with a piece of plastic or a polymer. The carbon occurs
in very thin strands that have a diameter smaller than that of a human hair though it is credited to
having the five times the tensile strength of steel and two times its stiffness although it the carbon
compound has only two thirds the weight of steel. In modern times, carbon fibre is commercially
synthesised in industries as it has a wide variety of applications in tasks requiring strength while at the
same time minimising weight such as in aeroplane body panels.
Fibre glass, on the other hand, is made up of melted glass that is blown, elongated or extruded to for a
string like material. Fibreglass has an advantage over carbon in that the synthetic manufacture of
fibreglass is easier as it does not require high temperatures to be produced. The material, however, has
nearly similar physical properties to carbon regarding strength, weight and modulus of elasticity.
In this laboratory report, we will investigate the tensile properties of the above two materials.
Introduction
The aim of the lab session was to study the properties of composite materials by testing the materials
in tension. The test composite materials to be tested comprised of carbon and fibreglass and

Copyright Laws And Its Impact On Intellectual Property...
Introduction Copyright laws were established to provide authors with rights over their creations and to
prevent unauthorized use and distribution of these creations by others. Although the law grants
ownership to one party, usually the author of the work, there is a doctrine for granting ownership of
work made for hire to educational institutions (Crews, 2006). This doctrine supports that if the
employee developed the work under the parameters of their scope of employment or through the use
of resources provided by the employer, then the employer owns the rights to the work (Crews, 2006).
In an effort to clarify the mandates of copyright law and improve understanding of intellectual
property ownership, educational institutions have developed their own policies addressing intellectual
property ownership. The policies vary by institution, but share the same purpose of providing
guidelines and conditions for ownership of creations by the educational institution s faculty. The
University of Maryland in College Park (UMCP) promotes the development of educational materials
by faculty to provide and deliver the best education to its students. In an effort to address the law of
copyright and clarify intellectual property ownership, as well as patents and trademarks, UMCP has
developed an extensive intellectual property policy. This paper will review the policy in reference to
the law as it applies to the development of works by faculty for use in distance education programs.

Role Of Isolation In Uglies
Fear is an emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is risky or dangerous. Everyone
has a fear of something in life; whether it s spiders, snakes, public speaking, exams or even heights.
However, a teen s most common fear is isolation. Isolation is when you feel alone or separated from
other people. Many teenagers today fear isolation because of the experience of losing a friend,
straining family relationships, and struggling to fit in. Teenagers often feel lonely because they do not
have the required friendships that a person desires. Teens need friends that would care for them,
provide support when needed, and understand the situation they are in. When they fail to get these

They feel as if they are not cool enough to join a certain group of people. Many teens feel like a misfit,
someone who cannot fit in with the crowd. Why does society make it seem like you have to be a part
of a certain group in order for someone to be accepted? In Uglies, by Scott Westerfeld, fifteen year
old, Tally Youngblood, feels isolated from a group of people because she is an ugly . She feels that in
order to fit in she needs to have the pretty surgery. Tally states, Pretties do look different. They look
like themselves. It s just a lot more subtle, because they re not all freaks (Westerfeld 82). Tally had
thought all her life that the only way to get attention from others is to become a pretty . It s not her
fault she grew up in a world where every sixteen year old was forced to have the pretty surgery. How
could she think that she will look normal, if she looks the same as everyone around her? Just like this
many teens try to fit in with society s social norms . In the drama play, I Claudia, by Kristen Thomson,
it is evident that the main character, Claudia, doesn t fit in with her group of friends because of the
way she looks. She states, Stacey told everyone that she s wearing hot pants and makeup. I wear bell
bottoms and platforms, but not hot pants. I think that they are too short and my legs would just stick
out like that (Thomson 23) This shows teens that the character Claudia has low self esteem; she is
afraid to wear the clothes that she wishes to wear because of the fear of judgement. Why do teens try
so hard to have a perfect body shape? Teens can feel isolated from a group of people because of the
way they may act, look, or understand things. They feel hurt or sad when excluded from a group of
individuals; therefore they feel like they don t

As professional research journals and articles were not found, my research is based on television facts
from the Internet and pure analytical observation and comparison of present day television
commercials. The age group considered child was five to twelve years. Commercials in this group
advertised products aimed at children to include cereals, dolls, and toys, as well as products aimed at
women, such as laundry detergent, using girls for advertisers. I did find a basic format of the child s
commercial, even though the actors and products varied greatly. I found camera action to be slow and
fluent. Very few jump cuts and quick zooms were used; instead, individual shots slid from scene to
scene very fluidly. The camera would focus on the children, giving equal coverage to each child and
each product. This type of action gave the viewer time to clearly see the product, as well as the actress
using it.
The child actresses had similarities in almost every commercial. Most notably, they were all female,
appearing to be between the ages of six and eight, no matter what toy was being advertised. The girls
were outfitted in pinks, blues, yellows, and greens of all shades, but mostly light pastels. Dresses and
overalls were prominent as were bows, ponytails, curly blonde hair, petite bodies, and smiles. Many

Social Work As A Social Worker
There are many helping professions. Society has doctors, therapist, teachers, nurses, etc. To help
means to assist, which means to serve. Every business has the infrastructure to serve a need presented
for whatever motives lay behind the person s reasoning. What makes social work idiosyncratic unlike
the rest is the willingness and passion to promote human well being. I yearn and hunger to see growth
of what is already innate. That is the reason psychology became my undeclared major.
My ignorance of the social work role did create misconceptions and fears. I knew I had to be in some
helping profession. I was not sure if I would do so through occupational therapy, psychology,
teaching, or social work. I wanted to be a social worker, but I was afraid of the danger associated with
it by giving way to stereotypes. No one wants to be shot or harassed due to taking someone s child
from a terrible environment. This is what I defined social work as. I was a psychology major with a
niche for social and child developmental psychology. I as three years into the Bachelor of Science
Psychology program and I began to develop a distaste for psychology methodology. The field
appeared to be competitive and only research or clinical driven, which I believed confine the goals I
set for myself. I was tired of rehearing the same old man psychological theories that had a narrow
scope. The competition was not intimidating, but it was unnecessary and defeating to turn out rates of

War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells
Homo Superior?
War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells is a fiction story written about war and mankind s coming of age. It
is also a philosophical novel with many deep meanings underlying the shallow looking one hundred
eighty eight page book.
The subject of this novel is Science Fiction and there are not many that can even compete with Wells
in terms of how superior his word descriptions are. He simply does wonders with the imagination of
the reader.
Obviously the whole book is about the struggle mankind faces, but it is not always with aliens, they
are actually more of a good way to represent what Wells really believed. He believed man is
dominant, yet should remember how big the universe is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case the setting is perfect on account of the humans having a small sense of hope in their
machinery, but not enough technology to really compete.
Characters are not a big part of this book. The main one, who never reveals his name, is the only one
who in fact does not always go with the craziness of the public. He does have his moments of running
away screaming and hiding, but he learns more about himself, mankind, and the aliens than anyone
else in the book. He has loved ones in England and hates the aliens for what they do to his home, yet
he understands what the aliens are trying to do. First person is a good way to write this kind of book
because the reader knows exactly what a regular Joe would be thinking at a time like this. Another
reason Wells is such a great author.
Other characters are the aliens, who seem to be ugly heads that talk with their minds. The physical
characteristics they possess are far different from humans and they never communicate with the
humans.
The last character worthy of note is the artillery man the main character meets towards the end of the
book. The two seem to agree on the way things will work out, and both would rather live than die
fighting. They play many games together, eat and talk and even spend the night out in the English
countryside together.
Without this man, the book does not exist and there is no story.

Brave New World Satire Analysis
In Aldous Huxley s Brave New World, satire is used to show how ridiculous modern society was in
the 1930s. Huxley refers to a variety of themes, ranging from the decay of morals and culture to drug
dependency to brainwashing to others. Huxley also speaks of how the world in the 1930s is getting too
liberal, nobody cares about each other, and how if you have a problem you can just take drugs until it
is no longer a problem. The main thing Huxley speaks about is moral and cultural decay in modern
society. chaps 16 and 18. Nobody cares about history or each other, just progress and making money.
The ...I m working on a wonderful Delta Minus ovary... (ch1, pg 9) shows that they are harvesting

feeling particularly morbid when he wrote From the ranks of crawling babies came little squeals of

distorted with terror. (ch2, pg 20 1) The author is drawing a sharp mental image of pain and suffering
here, possibly regarding what it was like to be a child at the time the story was written. The author is
showing how little people care about the babies themselves in both of those quotes. No sane person

Defining Your Business The first step in developing an effective MBO program is to define your
business. Ask yourself the following questions: ! ! ! What business am I in? Is my definition right for
today s market? Do I need to change my business to meet emerging customer needs?
A clear vision of your business is crucial for planning your marketing, product development, buildings
and equipment, and financial and staff needs. For example, a drop in sales caused a small business
manufacturer of metal trash cans to reexamine its product. To regain lost sales, the owner decided to
redefine the product as metal containers and to develop a new marketing plan.
Setting Goals
Long range business goals will be the cornerstone of your company s MBO program. To achieve
these goals, you must have a method to communicate them to your managers and employees. One way
is to bring managers and employees into the process by asking them to help formulate the company s
short and long range goals. If they have a role in establishing the goals, they will be more committed
to achieving them. All goals should relate to and support the long range objectives for the company. In
this way, you can ensure that the goals of all levels of management are consistent. If goals are
incompatible, you may find that employees feel like the middle manager of a research and
development company who exclaimed in a seminar, How can I set my goals when I don

Essay On Physical Education
The Margaret Eaton School (MES) played an important role in Canadian physical education during a
period of time known as the golden age for women s sport in Canada. This essay will discuss how
Margaret Eaton School came to be and why it is considered one of the leading schools in the
development of women s physical education in Canada in 1901, with the help of Emma Scott Raff and
Margaret Eaton. The school started out as The School of Expression focusing on theatre and physical
culture, and later (1925) shifted its views to focus solely on physical education. I plan to argue that

in order to concentrate solely on physical education was discussed. MES held a leading role in the

The Pros And Cons Of Slavery In America
Sectional Conflict Intensifies
The year was 1848. American forces had taken over Mexico city, and the leaders of the Mexican Army
had just signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. America had won the war with Mexico (The
American Vision 311). Everything seemed to be going great in the new union; however, as more and
more states entered, many different leaders had different opinions about a problem that had been
boiling up for a while slavery. More specifically what states would be allowed to have slaves and in
what states slaves would still be permitted. Both the North and South argued vigorously for their side
of the argument. All the while, then President James K. Polk saw no trouble. Polk believed that people
in the new territories that had been won over from Mexico wouldn t need to argue over the issue of
slavery because the dry climate of the southwest would not support the kinds of farming that made
slavery valuable (The American Vision 321), but he was very wrong.
In 1846, a Democratic Representative by the name of David Wilmot, proposed an amendment known
as the Wilmot Proviso. In this amendment he stated that any territory that the United States gained
from Mexico should enter the Union and Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude shall ever exist.
(The American Vision 321). This outraged the Southerners. They were afraid that a ban of slavery in
the territories would cause questions to arise about slavery in all states in general. To counteract the

Essay about Dangers in Skyrim
Prologue There is a place where many adventures have gone and many have died. It is deep in the
earth, filled with evil beings. The evil beings called falmer dwell in this old city. This is no ordinary
old city, this is Blackreach. Blackreach is an old dwemer city that was filled with dwarves. The
dwarves were mysteriously wiped out and the falmer inhibit the ruins now. The falmer alone make the
place dangerous. The falmer were a great race of snow elves until the Aldimiri Dominion demolished

I was shocked. To get a deadra heart would mean killing a mighty demon from oblivion. They are very
hard to find now after the oblivion crisis. And by the nine divines it is one of the rarest metals in all of
Skyrim. But here he was with the items in his hand ready. I could tell he was not an ordinary warrior. I
forged him the mighty sword, but such task was not as easy as it sounds. To be able to use the deadra
heart you must get it to 450 degrees and keep it at that exact temperature for exactly 2 days. The
ebony is also very hard to melt. You must use fire salts which will get the forge to the highest heat that
it can get to. The next few days the warrior stayed in the town. One day I went to go talk to the man. I
asked him what he does for a living. He said he was an adventurer who traveled through Skyrim
diving into dungeons, and treasure hunting often. This is not an ordinary profession. The next day the
sword was finished, and I presented it to him. He seemed very pleased. He admired the great design.
He brought a giant s skull, one of the toughest items in Skyrim. He took the sword, and swung it at the
skull. It made a clean cut. It not only had magnificent beauty, but also deadly power. This is a sword to
reckon with. The next thing he said was shocking. He asked me to sharpen it. I debated that my mere
grindstone would only dull the blade, but he insisted. I sharped it to the best of my abilities and he

Joy Luck Club Character Analysis
No one is the same everyone is a different person and while people may have similarities they are still
different people with different ideas and thoughts and outlooks on life even mothers and daughters.
Such as the daughters and mothers in the book, The Joy Luck Club. For starters, a young girl named
June and her mother Suyuan Woo were both alike in one common idea that they had completely
different views on everything even in speaking as she states, these kinds of explanations made me feel
my mother and I spoke two different languages, which we did. I talked to her in english, she answered
back in chinese. (Joy Luck, Tan,34) In saying this June tells metaphorically that they don t speak the
same language as in her mother and her never really seen things in the same light and literally as she
does not speak her mother s tongue. Even when they relate physically the mother relays to her
daughter that she is a foreigner to her and her past as the story goes, A friend once told me that my
mother and i were alike, that we had the same wispy hand gestures, same girlish laugh and sideways
look. When I shyly told my mother this, she seemed insulted and said, you don t even know little
percent of me how can you be me. (Joy Luck,Tan,27) This shows that while the daughter was trying to
relate to the mother by telling of her friends thoughts of their physical similarities she dismisses these
and says that her own daughter does not know her as a person. Secondly, over the

Women s Duration Of Criminal Crimes
I would respond to my friend s comment by disagreeing with her/him while supporting my own
claims. The amount of crime women commit compared to the amount of crime men commit is still
less in our society (Lecture). Women s duration of criminal offenses usually starts earlier and ends
earlier (Lecture). Men on the other hand usually commit crime later and they commit crime over a
longer duration of time. Women that commit crime differ in the type and seriousness of crimes they
commit compared to the type and seriousness of crime committed by men (Lecture). Men and Women
are also committing different crimes if they commit any at all. Men focus on serious and violent
crimes, along with white collar crime. Women in comparison seem to be focused on property crime
and minor crimes, while prostitution is the crime that women beat out men in arrest rate date shown

Descriptive Essay On Gymnastics
Gymnastics was a big part of my life and I was very excited when I got my first complicated skill it
had taken me about 2 years to get the skill. It was Saturday and my day started off by eating some
breakfast, my mom had made pancakes and bacon and they were delicious. I finished off my breakfast
and my dad told me to go get ready because we were going to run some errands and so I did, I picked
out this red shirt with free shoulder it was kind of big on me so, it looked like a dress but I liked it that
way, to go with the long red shirt. I picked out some black tights because they seemed comfy. On my
hair, I did a half up half down with a bun at the top and I got my favorite brown sandals and put them
on. Before my family left I had to do my bed, because my dad said, if I kept my room clean all year I
would be able to get a new phone, I cleaned my bed and rushed out the door. When my family and I
were in the car, my dad started singing and I was cringing so hard but, I didn t tell him anything
because that would be rude. We stopped at Winco to get groceries. My brother was excited because
whenever we went to the grocery store he would get a bar of candy. This time it wasn t any different,
we bought the food and went to pay my job was always to put the groceries into the bags which is fun.
We headed into the car and my parents loaded the groceries into the trunk. We started driving into the

My Passion In Writing
Has writing ever impacted your life? I often write to express my feelings towards situations that are
presented to me. Alternatively, I use writing to settle the rage within myself no matter the subject
matter I always stay true to writing with internal purpose. Writing something down on paper is much
easier for me, it s as though my hand leads my thoughts. It s wonderful to escape and through writing,
I get that feeling. If it was not for me taking speech and given the assignment to write about something
that affected my life I would have never found my passion for writing.
Two weeks into the class I was shaken up when my teacher, Mrs. Murphy gave us a speech topic that
read something that has had a major effect on you . This assignment had to be presented in front of my
peers, but it had to come from a writing assignment. Mrs. Murphy didn t have many strict
requirements for this assignment except she demanded that we present our speech with passion. After
class on my way home many topics ran through my head but none of them actually stuck. I then took a
right, turning into my drive way, seeing my house that is not yet livable since the flood I knew that
this is what I base my assignment on. This was a painful subject for me but I knew that I could present
passion through this topic.

Louisiana resulted in catastrophic flooding that submerged thousands of houses and businesses. The

The Lost Snowflake Short Story
The Lost Snowflake (The Snowflake Myth) I don t like people. Which is very unfortunate due to the
fact that I officially was the God of Ice, and officially as in two seconds ago. I didn t particularly ask
for this I mean I did, but I didn t. I didn t challenge to to be a God, do you know how hard that is? You
have to answer the prayers of people, like come on! Speaking of, did you know people actually pray
for ice? For it to snow? How bizarre is that? The sound of cheers and applauds brought me out of my
partially dazed state of mind. How did this happen so fast? I didn t even ASK for this. In fact, all I
asked was to be normal, and normal compared to the group of people I grew up with not a group of
Gods normal. That is not normal, far from it in fact! Talitha? I haven t even been home in a week,
which was bad because I have to feed Pandelia a girl who was half goldfish, half human and she is

Inside the company communications are promoted between the different areas. At the time when the

to have the better outcome of the project. As the company involves employees in product
development, the result will be not only in a better product design, but also it adds impetus of an
immense pride of association factor: We came up with this as a team. Everyone wins, including
customers and shareholders.
Position as Manager in Virgin
As a manager I prefer flat structures where employees have a sense of ownership and freedom to be

admire is the open communication between the employees and the directives, the possibility to work

possibility to allow workers to share their visions to develop innovations. For a manager to be able to

As The Advent Of The Eighteenth Century Had Came Into...
As the advent of the eighteenth century had came into reality, profound developments in the realm of
the arts began to take hold. Romanticism, as the era was known, shifted the focus from rational
viewpoints to a feel of expressing ...freedom and revolution in their art and politics (Poets). In effect,
individuality began to take root in writing, an ideal not employed during the reign of Classicalism.
William Wordsworth, one of the numerous promulgators of this era, had set the stage, writing over the
complexity and nature of the world around him. One the most notable poems of Wordsworth are
London, 1802 , which describes the decadence of Great Britain from his point of view, with notable

As a matter of personal opinion, this poem seems peculiar with its prophetic undertones. To explain, a
social divide like the one that is depicted by Wordsworth has been taking place in the United
Kingdom. Brexit , a referendum to leave the European Union that passed during the summer of 2016,
mimics the nationalistic fervor that is exhibited in the poem, especially in phrasing such as ...raise us
up, return to us again... (Meyer 703). In addition, one can infer that since older generations of voters
swayed the decision, they too have a longing for a revived golden age, much like the plea that
Wordsworth has towards the likes of John Milton, who was before Wordsworth time. Of course, this
notable poem could not only be directed to the United Kingdom, but across the world as well. Across
the many systems of governments, an ideological shift towards the right on the political spectrum has
offered growth in terms of their own nation being the first of concern, and the rest of the world
second. Such a shift tries to revive the golden age that Wordsworth has longed desired. In essence, the
poem exhibits a striking resemblance to the world s current ideological shift.
William Wordsworth, living from 1770 1850, was renowned in his establishment of Romanticism,
with most of his works being shaped by his experiences. Having commenced his education at
Hawkshead Grammar School in 1779, he found his love for poetry while discovering how to express

Complications Of Government Corruption
Introduction: If we read the News today, we could see that the government all over the world is
corrupt. According to US Legal, government corruption is when government leaders abuse their
political power to extract and accumulate for private enrichment (US Legal, Inc.)[1]. Technically, this
is a bad thing because when government leaders use their power for their benefit, it does not
necessarily mean that it is beneficial to the public and the society. To prove or disprove this argument,
I decided to run an econometric analysis to see whether government corruption hinders or helps
economic development. Method: There were three datasets I used for this paper. The first and the main
dataset was the dataset that contained the data on government corruption, which came from the
Worldwide Governance Indicators excel file posted on World Bank. From this dataset, I pulled out one
important variable called Corruption, which is a measure of the government performance. It ranges
from 2.5 (bad government performance/corrupted) to 2.5(good government performance/not
corrupted). We need to be careful when interpreting this variable because even though this is a
corruption measure, higher positive value actually means the government is doing better and less
corrupted. The second dataset I used was Penn World Table version 9.0[3]. From this dataset, I pulled
out the variables: average hours worked (avh), human capital index, based on years of schooling and
returns to education

Water Symbolism In Open Boat
The men in Crane s Open Boat experienced an emotional rollercoaster by feeling hopeless, determined
and exhausted. Lost at sea in a small boat with waves the size of mountains. Land is no where to be
found and help could be days away. Constant thoughts racing through one s mind about if they will
sink or swim. From the beginning of the story, as the men had to change boats from their ship to a
fairly small rowboat, their hope began to fade. To make matters any worse, a storm began and it
brought strong, high waves along with it which overtopped the boat many times during their journey
to find refuge and at times, the men thought they were going to die at sea from drowning in the frigid
waters.. As they venture the sea, they stumbled upon people that appeared to be waving at them as if
they were trying to help. By this point, the men are desperate for any help they can receive and they
notice a man waving a coat at them as if he was signaling to the men. The men thought they had found

Zoos are not a good place for animals.
All animals deserve the opportunity to run free in their natural habitat. Lions should be able to sprint
across the savanna, just like whales should be able to navigate the deep Atlantic Ocean. Animals in
zoos do not have this opportunity and have to live in enclosures that are much too small. For example,

Symbolism Is The Use Of Symbols To Signify Important Meaning
Symbolism is the use of symbols to signify important meaning to things. These symbols could be
basically anything in which a meaning is more than just the literal context. Hawthorne has several uses
of symbolisms in his stories. Symbolism was very popular literary device during the Romantic period,
where the object embodied some sort of idea. The symbolism of his works focused on isolation and
guilt of the individual, the uncertainties of good and evil, and the continual hold of the past on the
present. Hawthorne focused on his Calvinist lineage and America s Calvinist ideological past, as well,
in hopes of coming to terms and making sense of it. Hawthorne s writing is full of symbolic
characters, settings, and objects. Hawthorne s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another form of symbolism in The Scarlett Letter is Hester s daughter, Pearl. Hester names her
daughter Pearl is a being a great price and her mother s only treasure. This meant that Hester paid a
great price to have Pearl. In exchange for Pearl, she gave up everything else: her reputation, her
community, and even her religion (Shmoop Editorial Team). Lastly, the readers see a symbolism of the
black man toward the end of the book. The black man is considered the expression of Satan. Hester
thought the scarlet letter mark was the black man s mark. The black man was considered to be evil and
that is how it was symbolic in the story. Hawthorne has a perfect atmosphere for the symbols in The
Scarlet Letter because the Puritans saw the world through allegory. An allegory in literature is a story
where characters, objects, and events have a hidden meaning and are used to present some universal
lesson. For them, simple patterns, like the meteor streaking through the sky, became religious or moral
interpretations for human events. Objects, such as the scaffold, were ritualistic symbols for such
concepts as sin and penitence (The Scarlet Letter). Young Goodman Brown is a story that took place
during the Salem Witch Trials. In this story, you see people accusing each other of being a witch.

Reflection Of The Bible
Throughout the bible, and reading it once more by Marcus Borg, a common idea as it relates to a
religious experience, is that the Bible is a human product. Throughout chapter two, Borg continuously
describes the Bible as being a product of humans. He explains on page 22 that he sees scripture
through the lens of the Bible being a human product, meaning that it is the product of two ancient
communities (22). He believed that what the Bible explains things to be are words from the
communities of ancient Israel and the early Christian movement. We cannot talk about God (or
anything else) except with the words, symbols, stories, concepts, and categories known to us, for they
are the only language we have , made me think about the idea that ... Show more content on

Borg believes that if you do not believe that the bible is either totally a divine or totally a human
product, then it compounds the confusion (26).
He believes that if we consider the bible both a divine and human product then we would be harder to
separate the divine aspects from the human. I would have to agree with Borg s stance. For example, he
presented his stance by using the Ten Commandments. People who believed that both the bible is a
divine and human product would believe that it came from God in that they are his laws, however, the
Commandments are written from a male s perspective. Being that they are written from a male
perspective, it presents the idea that they are human made. But, I do not agree with the questions Borg
stated towards the end of the section of human products. Borg believes that we should not ask What is
God saying? but rather ask, What is the ancient author or community saying (28)?
Borg explains a term, precritical naivete, as being an early childhood state in which we listen to

Information Security
As the world migrates to the digital village, a lot of digital data and information is generated and
transmitted. In the same line, there is a growing need for data repositories or data banks. Information
security is chiefly concerned about prevention, detection and response to computer threats or risks
(CISCO, 2013). Protecting organizational information and systems is a daunting task because of the

laptops to the road, their

  • 2. How Does Nagaina Change Throughout The Novel Characterization is how a character is defined. We understand characters in the literature by paying attention to what they say, what they do, and how other characters react to them. In Rikki Tikki Tavi by Rudyard Kipling, Rikki Tikki, a young brave mongoose who has been washed out of his burrow due to a high summer flood. He found himself in the garden of a nice human family who adopts him and he decides to protect the human family from snakes. In the garden, he met the bullies, Nag and Nagaina. They both fight with each other for the control of the garden. In the end, Rikki Tikki Tavi killed them and made the garden a peaceful place. Based on the clues from the text, Nagaina can be characterized as evil. Nagaina can be characterized as evil because Nagaina tries to strike Rikki Tikki from ... When there were three eggs to kill, Rikki Tikki heard Darzee s wife screaming that Nagaina went into the house. Rikki Tikki raced toward the house. When he went into the house he saw that Nagaina was holding the family hostage, so he could see them getting killed. On page 25 author mentioned, ...stay still. I am not ready yet. • 3. Argumentative Essay On The Color Purple According to the Collins Dictionary, the term belittle is when you speak of (something) as less valuable or important than it really is . When evaluating the given definition, the word something is key to the topic that will be delivered. This is because The color Purple by Alice Walker exemplifies the time period between 1910 1940 in which the belittling of women was very common. The word something stands out because during this time period (1910 1940) women were treated as things and not human beings, which is why the definition given by the Collins Dictionary represents more completely the conduct usually men manifested. We can infer that belittling falls into the category of abuse, mainly because when you abuse of someone, either physically or emotionally, you make the person feel inferior and powerless. Throughout the novel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In another case, Moraima Oyola took her situations as an experience for a positive outcome. Both had an alteration in their way of thinking and acting, which is why they are an example to other women. When receiving abuse of any kind women usually keep it to themselves because they fear things will get worst. Fortunately, in the society we are living today our laws protect us from this abuse. This is why my recommendation to women is to stand up and confront the situation, not necessarily with the abuser but with high forces that will ensure safety. No women nor men deserves to be disrespected or feel useless due to others. This can be traced in their correspondence. But their views on the monetary system radically differed. Since Jordan was a part of the Arabic community of countries it had to make a decision to fight with them or to let this war pass. Jordan making the correct decision made a final decision and decided that they were not going to attack Israel because they came to a conclusion that if they did they would loose more land. When Syria went at war Jordan had no other choice but to send men to aid and help out his brother countries. • 13. Copyright Laws And Its Impact On Intellectual Property... Introduction Copyright laws were established to provide authors with rights over their creations and to prevent unauthorized use and distribution of these creations by others. Although the law grants ownership to one party, usually the author of the work, there is a doctrine for granting ownership of work made for hire to educational institutions (Crews, 2006). This doctrine supports that if the employee developed the work under the parameters of their scope of employment or through the use of resources provided by the employer, then the employer owns the rights to the work (Crews, 2006). In an effort to clarify the mandates of copyright law and improve understanding of intellectual property ownership, educational institutions have developed their own policies addressing intellectual property ownership. The policies vary by institution, but share the same purpose of providing guidelines and conditions for ownership of creations by the educational institution s faculty. The University of Maryland in College Park (UMCP) promotes the development of educational materials by faculty to provide and deliver the best education to its students. In an effort to address the law of copyright and clarify intellectual property ownership, as well as patents and trademarks, UMCP has developed an extensive intellectual property policy. One day I went to go talk to the man. I asked him what he does for a living. He said he was an adventurer who traveled through Skyrim diving into dungeons, and treasure hunting often. This is not an ordinary profession. The next day the sword was finished, and I presented it to him. He seemed very pleased. He admired the great design. He brought a giant s skull, one of the toughest items in Skyrim. He took the sword, and swung it at the skull. It made a clean cut. It not only had magnificent beauty, but also deadly power. Joy Luck Club Character Analysis No one is the same everyone is a different person and while people may have similarities they are still different people with different ideas and thoughts and outlooks on life even mothers and daughters. Such as the daughters and mothers in the book, The Joy Luck Club. For starters, a young girl named June and her mother Suyuan Woo were both alike in one common idea that they had completely different views on everything even in speaking as she states, these kinds of explanations made me feel my mother and I spoke two different languages, which we did. I talked to her in english, she answered back in chinese. (Joy Luck, Tan,34) In saying this June tells metaphorically that they don t speak the same language as in her mother and her never really seen things in the same light and literally as she does not speak her mother s tongue. Even when they relate physically the mother relays to her daughter that she is a foreigner to her and her past as the story goes, A friend once told me that my mother and i were alike, that we had the same wispy hand gestures, same girlish laugh and sideways look. When I shyly told my mother this, she seemed insulted and said, you don t even know little percent of me how can you be me. Alternatively, I use writing to settle the rage within myself no matter the subject matter I always stay true to writing with internal purpose. Writing something down on paper is much easier for me, it s as though my hand leads my thoughts. It s wonderful to escape and through writing, I get that feeling. If it was not for me taking speech and given the assignment to write about something that affected my life I would have never found my passion for writing. Two weeks into the class I was shaken up when my teacher, Mrs. Murphy gave us a speech topic that read something that has had a major effect on you . This assignment had to be presented in front of my peers, but it had to come from a writing assignment. Mrs. Murphy didn t have many strict requirements for this assignment except she demanded that we present our speech with passion. After class on my way home many topics ran through my head but none of them actually stuck. In effect, individuality began to take root in writing, an ideal not employed during the reign of Classicalism. William Wordsworth, one of the numerous promulgators of this era, had set the stage, writing over the complexity and nature of the world around him. To explain, a social divide like the one that is depicted by Wordsworth has been taking place in the United Kingdom. Brexit , a referendum to leave the European Union that passed during the summer of 2016, mimics the nationalistic fervor that is exhibited in the poem, especially in phrasing such as ...raise us up, return to us again... (Meyer 703). In addition, one can infer that since older generations of voters swayed the decision, they too have a longing for a revived golden age, much like the plea that Wordsworth has towards the likes of John Milton, who was before Wordsworth time. Of course, this notable poem could not only be directed to the United Kingdom, but across the world as well. Across the many systems of governments, an ideological shift towards the right on the political spectrum has offered growth in terms of their own nation being the first of concern, and the rest of the world second. Such a shift tries to revive the golden age that Wordsworth has longed desired. In essence, the poem exhibits a striking resemblance to the world s current ideological shift. William Wordsworth, living from 1770 1850, was renowned in his establishment of Romanticism, with most of his works being shaped by his experiences. • 37. Complications Of Government Corruption Introduction: If we read the News today, we could see that the government all over the world is corrupt. According to US Legal, government corruption is when government leaders abuse their political power to extract and accumulate for private enrichment (US Legal, Inc.)[1]. Technically, this is a bad thing because when government leaders use their power for their benefit, it does not necessarily mean that it is beneficial to the public and the society. To prove or disprove this argument, I decided to run an econometric analysis to see whether government corruption hinders or helps economic development. Method: There were three datasets I used for this paper. The first and the main dataset was the dataset that contained the data on government corruption, which came from the Worldwide Governance Indicators excel file posted on World Bank. From this dataset, I pulled out one important variable called Corruption, which is a measure of the government performance. It ranges from 2.5 (bad government performance/corrupted) to 2.5(good government performance/not corrupted). We need to be careful when interpreting this variable because even though this is a corruption measure, higher positive value actually means the government is doing better and less corrupted. The second dataset I used was Penn World Table version 9.0[3]. From this dataset, I pulled out the variables: average hours worked (avh), human capital index, based on years of schooling and returns to education ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These symbols could be basically anything in which a meaning is more than just the literal context. Hawthorne has several uses of symbolisms in his stories. Symbolism was very popular literary device during the Romantic period, where the object embodied some sort of idea. The symbolism of his works focused on isolation and guilt of the individual, the uncertainties of good and evil, and the continual hold of the past on the present. Hawthorne focused on his Calvinist lineage and America s Calvinist ideological past, as well, in hopes of coming to terms and making sense of it. This meant that Hester paid a great price to have Pearl. In exchange for Pearl, she gave up everything else: her reputation, her community, and even her religion (Shmoop Editorial Team). Lastly, the readers see a symbolism of the black man toward the end of the book. The black man is considered the expression of Satan. Hester thought the scarlet letter mark was the black man s mark. The black man was considered to be evil and that is how it was symbolic in the story. Hawthorne has a perfect atmosphere for the symbols in The Scarlet Letter because the Puritans saw the world through allegory. An allegory in literature is a story where characters, objects, and events have a hidden meaning and are used to present some universal lesson. For them, simple patterns, like the meteor streaking through the sky, became religious or moral interpretations for human events. Objects, such as the scaffold, were ritualistic symbols for such concepts as sin and penitence (The Scarlet Letter). Young Goodman Brown is a story that took place during the Salem Witch Trials. Throughout chapter two, Borg continuously describes the Bible as being a product of humans. He explains on page 22 that he sees scripture through the lens of the Bible being a human product, meaning that it is the product of two ancient communities (22). He believed that what the Bible explains things to be are words from the communities of ancient Israel and the early Christian movement. He believes that if we consider the bible both a divine and human product then we would be harder to separate the divine aspects from the human. I would have to agree with Borg s stance. For example, he presented his stance by using the Ten Commandments. People who believed that both the bible is a divine and human product would believe that it came from God in that they are his laws, however, the Commandments are written from a male s perspective. Being that they are written from a male perspective, it presents the idea that they are human made. But, I do not agree with the questions Borg stated towards the end of the section of human products.
