This document discusses selecting songs for a documentary. It notes that researching songs now will help with editing later. Songs about social media and phones may engage younger viewers aged 16-20 but annoy older viewers.  The relevance of looking at songs will allow us to
make quick decisions and what songs we will
possibly use for our documentary when we begin
the editing process.
 All the songs we research link to social media and
the use of smart phones. However this doesn’t
really reflect the effect on education. The use of
these songs will be familiar to the lower end of our
target audience (16-20) which could mean that
they could be more transfixed to the documentary.
The other effect of having these songs is that the
older end of our target audience may find these
songs annoying and may not be as interested as
we hoped.

3. Songs
 We have learnt that most documentaries have
some sort of music behind them. They mainly
use non-diegetic music. Music is used for
emotive purposes. Directors use music to get
the response they want from their
documentary meaning there is a strong
engagement between the audience and the
documentary.
 In our documentary we intend to use upbeat
piece of audio which may not include lyrics.
This is so that our whole target audience can
relate to it.
