The document discusses observability in microservices and provides an overview of key concepts. It introduces One Concern, which monitors buildings and natural disasters, and describes the differences between monoliths and microservices. It then covers the three pillars of observability - monitoring, logging, and tracing - and provides examples of tools for each. The rest of the document focuses on Jaeger, describing its architecture, benefits, features, terminology, and includes a demo. It concludes by mentioning One Concern is hiring.
Comparison between ERP Systems: Bitrix24 vs OdooBhanu Arora
Bitrix24 and Odoo are two open-source ERP systems that were compared. Bitrix24 provides a free collaboration platform with communication tools, task and project management, CRM functionality, and a contact center. It has pricing plans from free to professional. Odoo is a comprehensive ERP software with over 30 integrated business modules including CRM, e-commerce, accounting, and manufacturing. It has over 16,000 third-party apps and pricing from $2,700 to $18,750 depending on implementation needs. Both systems were found to have pros like features and customization but also cons like bugs, documentation and costs.
This document provides a template for a business requirements document (BRD) that includes best practices for documenting business requirements. The template is meant to be flexible and adapted based on lessons learned from previous projects. While the template provides a standard structure, individual projects may require deviations from the template that must be justified. The template aims to provide a "home" in the requirements documentation for each technique covered in the book.
Virtualization allows multiple operating systems to run on a single physical system by sharing hardware resources. It is enabled by a hypervisor which controls the host system's processor and resources, allocating them to guest virtual machines. Virtualization improves resource utilization and costs by pooling physical hardware and allocating virtual resources on demand. However, the hypervisor is a potential point of failure as it has control over the entire system and is part of the trusted computing base. Approaches aim to reduce this risk by removing the hypervisor or restricting its control.

The Zen of High Performance Messaging with NATS
Waldemar Quevedo Salinas, Senior Software Engineer
NATS is an open source, high performant messaging system with a design oriented towards both being as simple and reliable as possible without at the same time trading off scalability. Originally written in Ruby, and then rewritten in Go, a NATS server can nowadays push over 11M messages per second.
In this talk, we will cover how following simplicity as the main design constraint as well as focusing on a limited built-in feature set, resulted in a system which is easy to operate and reason about, making up for an attractive choice for when building many types of distributed systems where low latency and high availability are very important.

•Planon
•Cad&Company
•De Revit server
•Autodesk BIM 360
•Stabiplan
•BIMserver van de TNO

In order to support teams during the tender phase in working towards the winning offer, a number of modules have been developed in recent years.
This document discusses the challenges of complexity in the construction industry and BAM's priorities around digitalization. It notes that construction productivity has declined 20% since 1980 while other sectors have increased 150% due to low digitalization in construction. BAM's key priorities include pre-construction management, digitalization, IT standardization, and business controls to address these challenges and reinvent construction through increased use of digital technologies and standardization. The document concludes by stating that speaking is... and provides contact information for Carlo Kuiper, a BAM project director.
