Analysis Of A Humorous Wedding
Scott and Keiya are some of the most delightful people our team has ever met. We had the pleasure of
meeting them at the Bridal expo in Phoenix. They expressed to us how happy they were to find a team
of local wedding photographers and videographers that they could trust to capture the memories of
their wedding day.
Pre Ceremony Photoshoot
Before their wedding, we took photos of Scott by himself in front of the beautiful Arizona landscape.
Afterwards, we took photos of Keiya in her room as she was getting ready for their event. We enjoyed
getting to know each of them in their own setting before taking their wedding portraits together. Their
love and intrigue for each other was so obvious when they were together.
We explored the resort with

Analysis Of The Entertainer By Scott Joplin
The Entertainer by Scott Joplin
The Entertainer composed by Scott Joplin, was created because, rag time in the 1902 was extremely
popular between 1897 1917 . Moreover this music piece is resurrected for our entertainment in the
1973 Oscar winning movie The String
The famous song published by John Stark Son of St. Louis, in the summer of December 29, 1902 was
an song created for the lovers of ragtime music and dancers of the two step piece that was popular
during this period. The original piece key signature is C Major but got transposed to F major for Tenor
Saxophone playing. Therefore, the time signature is 4/4 with a tempo of 77 BPM with Mezzo Forte
being the starting dynamic.
One of the many style that you could analyze this ragtime piece is by using AA, BB, A, CC and in the
second time DD. This technique was used in what many commentators would say African
Americans... use.... freedom of speech in order to enhance their identity and presence in the United
States of America , giving in those times a more inferior community, in America, a freedom a way to
communicate. Throughout the song, the tone of the piece gives off a relaxing sound but gets tedious
after a while since there is not much variation between the notes, and is quite repetitive all through the
piece. The rhythm of the song is 4/4 timing which makes the characteristic identity with ragtime in its
two step andate. Highlighted throughout the musical piece, there a waves of ostinato due to the

Political Socialization Paper
Political socialization the process in which people create and form new ideas that are mainly about
politics and make assumptions about political points in today s society. This is important because, in
reality people are able form ideas about political standing points, and socialize about them with
friends, family members, professors, and as well as in classes. I personally found that one family
members, my uncle, that always talk about politics has influenced me to discover more information
towards government perspectives, and economic views. By doing this I can understand what in today s
society is happening because why wouldn t you want to know what going on because changes that the
government makes can impact the way we do our daily routines. For example in the sociology
textbook there was one example that talked about how the government has power and authority in the
decision that you make. The government tells you what kind of gasoline to put in your car and they
control how fast you can drive. This is just one in probably hundreds of way the ... Show more content

Having a new president can really affect the way of reaching my personal academic achievements for
the future because the new president can make changes towards school systems that would impact
myself and probably have to adapt to the new changes that are made. For example, if the president
were to change college tuition to become free that would economically impact me in a way of saving
moneys and acquiring the education and degree I would need for free without the risk of putting
myself in debt. This is what I find affecting my education achievements and financial goals in the near

China’s Most-Favored-Nation Trade Status Essay
China s Most Favored Nation Trade Status
If the United States is going to stand by and let China break the agreement that we have set then what
is the point of having rules or laws in the first place? If we can accept the fact that China is breaking
our laws then we can also understand that this behavior can very well lead to a state of anarchy and
lawlessness. These are all things that are breed by a lack of law, and also facilitated by a lack of proper
enforcement of our current laws. This is a warning also for the future as we show China that the
United States will not stand for the flagrant breaking of its laws.

Influenza Pandemic Stockpile Essay
A lot of critical factors drive an influenza pandemic stockpiling. The costs for having influenza
pandemic stockpile of drugs is relatively lesser when equated with the amount of chaos and disaster it
will be created to humankind worldwide.
Some of the major factors are:
The records and prediction of the world health organization for the number of people that would be
infected by the pandemic in the near future.
The quantity of the rapid response stockpile which will be required to limit and treat the first people
that will be affected
The strategy plans under which the stockpile will be used, for preventive or therapeutic use, long term
and short term before spread.
The economic impact that will occur, due to disruption of normal business. ... Show more content on

As the number of the cases increase, the just in time supply chains or the standard operating
procedures would be really difficult to meet the growing demand. Hence the healthcare systems have
been challenged to determine the medical supplies that need to be procured. One of the most
challenging jobs is to develop a prioritized list detailing all the supplies and essential quantities that
need to be stockpiled.
Benefits of influenza pandemic stockpile are:
Uncertainty of the demand since we are uncertain of its occurrence, stockpiling the vaccines and drugs
is very important
Considering the development and the availability of the vaccines. The time frame required is more.
Hence, with the stockpile, they are readily available when needed
Logistics play a major role.
Stockpile replenishment can be easily done.
The costs involved in the influenza pandemic stockpile is very high. Since these Tamiflu vaccines are

Frederick Douglass And The Fight For Women s Suffrage
Frederick Douglass was a major black male voice in the fight for women s suffrage. Douglass unlike
many men believed that women too were people and deserved all of the rights a man was given. He
believed this because black men were previously apart from the equality of all men, and they too
should be apart in gaining this equality for all. Douglass, along with other strong willed women,
Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Lucretia Mott, Sojourner Truth, among others, they
became the forefront of Women s Suffrage in the 1848 Convention on Woman s Rights at Seneca
Falls.
After the Civil War granting African Americans their freedom, Frederick Douglass became a political
activist against the institution of slavery. He combined his efforts with John Brown, an abolitionist,
engaging in strong minded debates in figuring out whether the U.S Constitution was proslavery,
antislavery, created for the well being of all men or only white men. Douglass gained the knowledge
of political reform and how to go about movements, in his case, abolition movements, and later on
assisting in women rights movements. He learned that being looked upon in politics, as an intelligent
and well respected individual without pursuing force would be the best way to gain his victory. His
goal was to persuade the American public opinion against slavery, while praising democratic freedom
and progression of American principles, reaching audiences of all sexes and races. He also pointed out

At one time JCPenney was considered the pentacle of discount shopping and was consistently
growing. A heavy recession in 1974 was the first major obstacle for JCPenney and from there on
forward it seemed difficult for the retailer to make progress in the magnitude it had the previous years;
however the retailer continued to make profits. In 1998 JCPenney introduced its online catalog
service; in the beginnings JCPenney s catalog was strictly paper and a major player in its business
strategy and profits. The introduction of the online shopping proved extremely beneficial for the
company due to the online boom of the late 90 s and early 2000 s. Today JCPenney finds itself at a
very interesting cross roads. In the summer of 2011 JCPenney welcomed new CEO Ron Johnson, a
former Apple executive. This was a major move for JCPenney considering the recent years showed a
steady decline in profits and Market share. Store closings were becoming a regular thing and the
Executive committee saw Ron Johnson, who has had major success in retail, as a chance to turn the
company around. On February 1, 2012 the company launched its new strategy centered on Fair and

Analysis Of 320 By Emily Dickinson 320
Emily Dickinson wrote 320 in a form in a form that is not traditional. It is written in a closed sense
given it is written quatrains that frequently rhyme, but it does not fall into a traditional pattern.
Dickinson generally follows the pattern of writing the first and third lines of each stanza in iambic
tetrameter and the second and fourth lines in iambic trimeter. Other times, she uses Trochees in
random times making the form sound choppy. For example, in the first stanza she uses the trochee
certain and winter . Both of these create a rough sentence. The poem goes into pause at many times
throughout the poem, thus bringing out the dissatisfaction and difficult time the poem is describing.
There is no way to tell who is speaking in this poem. Dickinson generally wrote as if the narrator was
somebody parallel or close to herself; however, in 320 there are no signs of if it is Dickinson or one of
her other popular characters. The narrator seems to be speaking as if they are part of a group, as the
only pronouns mentioned are us and we . This us could be up for interpretation; it could be a small
group experiencing death or even the entire human population as a whole and their view of God.
Dickinson uses strong imagery in the first stanza. The reader imagines the booming sounds of large
cathedral organs and the way the bass of them shakes your soul. She adds a negative connotation to
these shakes by stating it oppresses the narrator. Following, Dickinson uses the metaphor of a slant of
light on a winter afternoon to the opening her internal pain. As the slant of light opens, it is essentially
opening up a seal of despair. Nothing external has affected the body; however, the heartbreak from the
pain the narrator is dealing with leaves behind marks on her soul. She follows this theme through the
entire poem that the slant of light has brought pain upon her. Dickinson starts with a relatively positive
tone. When stating There s a certain Slant of light / Winter Afternoons the reader has the visual of a
small light shining through on a white surface. This tone quickly changes when it is followed by That
oppresses, like the Heft / Of Cathedral Tunes giving off the interpretation of a light that hits

Improving End Of Life Care In The Icu. A Literature Review
Improving End of Life Care in the ICU A literature review conducted by Crowe (2017) examines the
role of ICU nurses in providing high quality end of life care in the ICU. He states that palliative
nursing in the ICU is de emphasized due to an increased focus on curative treatment. Four major
themes have been identified that contribute to the poor management of critically ill patients needing
palliative support. These themes include decision making challenges, barriers, obtaining support and
formation of guidelines to effectively implement comfort care therapies. Hence, a checklist has been
developed to allow nurses to properly facilitate the provision of quality care to patients experiencing
the end of life, as well as giving needed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With information gathering reflecting evidence based practice, a checklist has been created in
accordance with the philosophy of the hospital s palliative care program. This said checklist is also
constructed in alignment with the ICU s policies and procedures to provide a framework for the
bedside ICU nurse to ensure proper process, and consistent care is provided to all patients and families
at the end of life (Crowe, 2017). This will be implemented upon completion of a family meeting with
the multidisciplinary team that allows clear communication, decision making to modify goals of care
from curative to comfort, reflection, and clarification of questions. The checklist is divided into three
parts: Decision making, Preparation, and Implementation. Decision making involves the explanation
and confirmation of withdrawal of life sustaining therapies. The preparation phase includes family
awareness, planning, consideration of spiritual practices and organ donation inquiries. Lastly, the
implementation phase provides detailed instruction for the healthcare team once the process is
initiated (Crowe, 2017). The study concludes that it is imperative for nurses to acquire knowledge on
the significance of palliative care, the ethics behind, and how it impacts the lives of their patients and
families. This checklist serves as a guide for best

ASL Challenge Paper
ASL is more than a language; it is a miracle. I find myself often perplexed by the difficulty that must
have come with making a language solely from hands. It is amazing that there was a nationwide
speaking of the hands for the deaf community and anyone who is interested to learn can join in easily,
but only if they can hoop over some of the languages major challenges. In the article Why is Learning
American Sign Language a Challenge? by Professor Mike Kent, he discusses the top 5 ASL
challenges he has come across. The first challenge being social dominance patterns and attitude. This
challenge is definitely a struggle for many new learners. People think that the deaf are nothing more
than handicapped human beings that can t do normal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Patience is key.
The final challenge is that there are two types of motivations that gives people the will to learn sign
language. These people fall into 2 categories. One, instrumental motivation is for all those people that
want to benefit in there career with another language or are asked to take classes for a job. This person
will just go to pass the tests but will quickly learn and forget the language. Even in our case as
students it is technically an intellectual motivation for our degree but for many there is an actual
reason they wanted to take ASL. When there is an outside motivation people are categorized as
integratively motivated learners. These people have a significant person in their life that is deaf and
only communicates through ASL or a friend or a colleague. Their motivation is stronger and the
language will stick with them longer.
If I had to choose one of the above 5 most challenging things about ASL, my personal challenge
would be congruence and culture. As the article mentioned sometimes ASL can feel like a revolving
door that becomes too late to enter if you miss some parts for new learners. I have found myself
feeling this way often. Once a conversation starts going at (which often seem hyper speed) I feel
helpless because I don t know what s going on when I miss important parts of the conversation. I find
it also very challenging to not want to use my voice as I sign. I know deaf people I am

The Article Being Poor, Black And Americ Impact Of...
Introduction
The article Being Poor, Black and American: The Impact of Political, Economic, and Cultural Forces
written by William Julius Wilson is about the struggles and inequalities African Americans living in
poverty encounter. Wilson discussed political, economic and cultural forces that have an impact on
American impoverished communities. The author suggested the natural disaster of Hurricane Katrina
brought the media and world attention to poverty in the United States. Prior to Katrina, the author
believes Americans did not focus or sympathize with poor communities. This unsympathetic attitude
stems from the belief that people are poor because they did not work hard enough, or are not doing
anything to get out of that situation. After Katrina, Americans started to notice and care about the
impoverished communities because the hurricane was a natural disaster and out of their control.
Overall, the author explains how politics, economics and cultures forced many families into poverty,
and diminishes the idea that people live in poverty because of their own shortcomings.
Political Force
The author explained how the government established policies and initiatives that created ghettos and
suburbs. The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) is a program that helped citizens become
homeowners by lending loans. However, only certain neighborhoods qualified for those loans.
Research and data were used to prove that certain areas were considered a loss of investment. The

Background Of An Authorised Firearms Officer
Chapter 1
Background
When an authorised firearms officer in the police is involved in a shooting, procedures and guidelines
are firmly incorporated to ensure that investigations are thoroughly carried out. However, most police
officers in England and Wales will never possess a firearm, face a gun or discharge one as this
supports the ideology that police officers in England and Wales have no desire to carry a firearm
routinely (Rostker, 2008, p. 78)
It is not a common occurrence for a weapon to be discharged in any firearms incident in England and
Wales, for example if a firearm is discharged following an alert, over half the rounds fired are believed
to miss their intended target and of those people hit by a round, more than half survive (Punch, 2011,
p. 1). A similar situation also exists in the United States of America.
The United States are viewed in the Western society as extreme in relation to weapons and violence
because of its high police response rates to its widespread strong gun culture (Crank, 1998, p. 152).
The United States will be introduced as a comparator to this research as it is already highly compared
to other societies where the sale of weapons and its regulation is minimal, with only local law
enforcement agencies setting the policy with no national policing system.
A report released in 2012 by the Federal Bureau of Investigation stated that 410 Americans were
lawfully killed by the police with only one victim unarmed (2013). However, during

The Healthy Mediterranean Diet Will Be Under Siege By Fast...
about €2.9 billion in 2019, which amounts to a 50 percent increase from 2014 (Jones). This indicates
that the healthy Mediterranean diet will continue to be under siege by fast food which could see the
healthiest people in the world become fat and more prone to diet based diseases.
As noted earlier, the problem of health and culture go together not only in Europe, but also in the
Asian markets. Various countries in Asia have seen very similar results of what is happening in the
Mediterranean. Many Asian nations have been invaded by the fast food industry and have seen their
culture and health decline. Specifically in China, the traditional cuisine includes large amounts of

This indicates that people feel the pressure that fast food does in fact affect culture and that measures
must be taken in order to prevent losing their identity before it is too late. One example of this is in
France, a country with a long history of taking pride in its cuisine. In 2011, for the first time in the
country s history, fast food earned more than the traditional French restaurants and bistros (Samuel).
The traditional diet is vital to France as it is a way of life and a source of revenue from tourists. For
those reasons in 2010, the government was able to put the ethnic diet on the United Nations
Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization s (UNESCO) World Heritage List as a way to
protect the cuisine ( France s Fast Food ). The same article noted that the government has also tried to
push through legislation that would limit the amount of places that can be called a restaurant to
establishments who make over half of their food on the premises. This potential regulation would
create transparency which would help to distinguish ethnic food from fast food. Through these
measures, the French government is attempting to control the damage and lessen the impact of fast
food on their historic cuisine. However, it is an uphill battle to try and reverse the effects of the fast
food industry even in

The Lord Of The Ring
Tom Bombadil placed the magic ring on his finger; everyone waited for him to disappear, but nothing
happened, and he handed the ring back to Frodo without a slight hesitation. Frodo offered Galadriel
the ring and she grew into a horrible creature towering over Frodo, but fought the ring s strong
temptation, and finally decreasing back to her normal self and declined the powerful ring. Both Tom
and Galadriel, in The Lord of the Ring, portray Tolkien s respect for nature and strong spirituality,
because they are powerful creatures, yet able to live a balanced life. Tom Bombadil was the master of
the forest he lived in, and Frodo s magic ring had no effect on him. Lady Galadriel was an Elf ruler
and was able to withstand the temptation of the magic ring. The magic ring symbolizes the corruption
and power, leading to an unsustainable world. For example, society has an unsustainable demand for
oil. Oil pipelines, such as the Keystone, have lessened the beauty of nature where they have been built.
Companies believe they have the right to construct pipelines across the US at the expense of the
environment. Humans must remember to value the beauty of nature.
Tom Bombadil lived in the Old Forest, taking care of the nature, and singing ridiculously silly songs.

for the night. During the evening, Frodo asked Goldberry, who Tom was. She replied that Tom was the

Franklin Roosevelt promised to get the United States out of the Great Depression during the election;
saying this is the main reason on why he became President on March 4, 1933. He had many words to

National Recovery Act were all attempts of Franklin getting America out of the Great Depression like
he said he would in his election days.
To begin, the First New Deal was otherwise called the Hundred Days that went from March 9th June

the Great Depression. There was little to none opposite to the many law Congress had passed. One of

Examples Of Motivation In Second Language Acquisition
Abstract
It s undoubtedly true that motivation in second language acquisition ( SLA) hints to the learner s
attempt and desire to learn a language and their attitude toward learning language (Dornyei, 1994) .
Motivation is regarded as a vital element in the develop of any activity . It plays a pivotal role in
obtaining the desired goals. Motivation in SLA has been crucially investigated in variety contexts such
as (Feng Chen ,2009; Wu Wu, 2008;Melendy,2008; Wang,2007; Lamb, 2007). As the components
believe motivating EFL students to develop in the target language is extremely complex. In many

Introduction In respect of the other kinds of learning , second language acquisition (SLA) does not
take place in a gap. When it comes to SLA in general and English as a second language (ESL)
specifically , several factors are involved. One of which is motivation , According to Melendy, 2008,
From the Latin root Movere , Motivation refers to a system that begins with a need and leads to a
behavior which moves an individual through achieving a goal . The most complicated and difficult
task which involves a multiplicity of psycho sociological and linguistic factors is motivating students
in the English as a foreign language (EFL) classroom, ( Dornyei, 1998; 2010a); Although, most
English teachers will assert to the crucial role motivation plays in the realm of teaching and learning
process. Many SLA researchers hold this view point that studying motivation is prominent, owing to
they believed learners even those with the most abilities can not achieve long term goals without
sufficient motivation. In other words, good instruction and appropriate curriculum might not be
enough to guarantee success.

Child Abuse And Child Discipline
One of the most controversial topics is the difference between child abuse and child discipline. Abuse
is any action that intentionally harms or injures another person. Discipline is punishment that is
intended to correct or train. Some parents do not see the harm in their form of discipline, but others
may view it as abuse. It may not be the parent s intention to harm their child but it is something that
occurs. In 2012, state agencies found an estimate 686,000 of child maltreatment. .*(*Kids Count)
Every year more than 3 million reports of child abuse are made in the United States involving more
than 6 million children (a report can include multiple children).
Child abuse is when a parent or caregiver, whether through an action or failing to act causes injury,
death, or emotional harm to the child. A parent is responsible for disciplining their child, but some
may have a tendency of using extreme measures. In my opinion, I think in certain cases mild physical
punishment is acceptable. However, severe physical punishment should be avoided at all times,
because this is not healthy for the child.
Some parents do not know how to handle a child that is misbehaving, which is the reason abusive
discipline occurs. There are instances when a child s misbehavior can cause abuse to the parent. The
parent will reach a level of anger that will provoke them to automatically slap or hit the child. In
which case the parent believes physical force is an acceptable form of punishment.

Summary Character Descriptions of East of Eden
East of Eden Summary amp; Character Descriptions
Because East of Eden is a novel woven together of many people and many stories, it is an especially
difficult novel to summarize. It is impossible to draw character sketches without interweaving them
with the storyline, thus, I have combined the characters descriptions and plot summary. The book
opens by describing the lives of two very different families in very different parts of America. First the
Hamiltons, a patriarch built around the wise but impractical Samuel, who emigrated from Ireland in
the early 1900 s to start a new life in America in the Salinas Valley. He owns a poor farm where he and

Charles has fathered fraternal twins, but Cathy bites Samuel while he is delivering her children. As if
her behavior to Samuel was not odd enough, as soon as she is able to get out of bed Cathy tries to
leave Adam. When Adam tries to stop her, she shoots him in the shoulder with his own gun. Cathy
runs away and Adam sinks further and further into a depression. A Chinese servant raises the boys for
Adam but they remain unnamed. The Chinese servant, Lee, is the character Steinbeck uses to initiate
philosophical discussions in the novel. While Lee pretends around most people to be unable to speak
or understand English, he was actually raised in a Presbyterian home and is an accomplished scholar.
When, at 15 months, Samuel Hamilton learns the twins have not been named, he goes to the ranch
Adam once dreamed could be an Eden and literally knocks sense into Adam.
After Samuel s visit Adam begins to come out of his daze. Samuel, Adam, and Lee, the Chinese
servant, begin to discuss names for the twins. The men discuss the story of Cain and Abel and by dusk
the boys are named Caleb (known as Cal) and Aaron (who later changes his name to Aron). Note

Contrasting Cultures in Tan s Mother Tongue and Nguyen s...
The teenage years and transition to adulthood is in itself a very difficult period. Blending or fitting in
are omnipresent issues that must be dealt with. For children of immigrants, this difficulty is only
intensified through language. Both Amy Tan and Khang Nguyen strategically use narrative anecdotes
and employ several rhetorical devices to illustrate this struggle in their works, Mother Tongue and The
Happy Days, respectfully. Amy Tan chooses her childhood home as the primary setting of her work.
This allows her to focus primarily on her conversations and interactions with her mother. However,
she also gives several anecdotes in which her mother s background and improper English negatively
affected her, outside the home. Through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the setting of the bathroom with the mirror provides Khang with a means of reflection. Both
Tan and Khang describe the struggle of fitting in with the added difficulty of growing up as a child of
immigrants. Both compare and contrast their relationships inside and out side the home in order to
clearly demonstrate the differences and difficulties. As the stories develop, so do their characters,
allowing for subtle reflection.
At hoe, Amy Tan maintained a loving relationship with her mother. There, they were able to speak to
each other the same way and understand each other perfectly. It was only outside the home that
communication became a problem. She recalls how people disrespected her mother in department
stores, restaurants and other places. Her mother, on a daily basis, received a constant condescending
attitude from people. Tan became very uncomfortable with such attitudes. When her mother is
disrespected or treated unfairly, Tan would simply sit there red faced and quiet . She never felt angry
toward her mother, like Khang did. However, she did feel that her mother s informal English limited
her perception of her.
As an adult, Tan understands that her mother s English is the language of intimacy. She now
understands that her mother s expressive command belies how much she actually understands Her
mother reads The Wall street Journal and converses with their stockbroker on matters Tan doesn t

Cyberbullying Is A Problem That Affects More Than One...
With the new twitter update which allows that creation of polls that users can vote in, countless
accounts have been created to poke fun at someone s personality or looks, this is what is called
cyberbullying, and it happens each and everyday. Cyberbullying is a problem that affects more than
one fourth of adolescents in middle school and high school. With the growth of technology it has
become more imperative to implement programs in schools to help solve this problem. Today,
teenagers rely more on the internet, and other technologies to keep in touch with their friends, and
social lives. They are on all sorts of social media platforms such as facebook, twitter, instagram,
snapchat and so much more. They also use different forms of technology such as cellphones, and
online chatrooms to communicate with friends and social circles. Many adolescents use this growing
technology as a bridge between their everyday reality, and virtual reality, and sometimes, use this
technology to intimidate and harass other students which is a form of cyberbullying. Jemica Carter

The Future of Fiber Optics
I. What is Fiber Optics? Fiber optic technology is often discussed in a wide range of conversations.
This may be when people talk about TVs, phones, internet, or general technology. Fiber optics may
also be referred to when talking about light and optics. An optical fiber is defined as a flexible,
transparent fiber made by drawing glass (silica) or plastic to a diameter slightly thicker than that of
human hair (Wikipedia). These fibers are used as a means of light transmission from one end of the
fiber to the other end of the fiber and this is referred to as fiber optic communications. These fibers are
quite technologically advanced because they have the ability to transmit more data and at a quicker
rate than normal cables made of wire. There is also much less lost data when using fiber optic
technology. Clearly, the benefits of fiber optics are much greater than traditional wired cables. Fiber
optic cables are also used for the purpose of lighting and sensing. There are already many practical
applications of the technology such as lasers, but these applications are just the beginning of the
potential of this powerful technology.
II. How was Fiber Optics Discovered? Fiber optics as we know it today has been the result of a long
chain of inventions that all began with John Tyndall s 1854 discover that light can be conducted
through water and bent. Later in 1895, a

The Classical Period Of The Baroque Era
The Classical time period, which spanned a length of seventy years, from 1750 to 1820, was very
different in nature from its predecessor, the Baroque time period. The Baroque era featured works that
were ornamentally elaborate, where the artists and composers centered their works on a big, bold style
that was dramatic in its composition. Artists and composers transferred strong feelings of tension and
emotion into their works and it was common for there to be some type of action or movement
happening within the work. Those who lived in the Classical time period, valued simplicity and
wanted to return to the ideals of the Greeks. Therefore, the Classical time period is characterized by
clear structural clarity, simplicity, smoothness, and symmetry. However, though the works took a step
back from the grand movement of the Baroque era, the composers and artists of the Classical time
period did lay out a tuneful and elegant style in their music and art. Out of the Classical era came
many renowned artists and composers, two of those whom are artist Sir Thomas Lawrence and
composer Ludwig van Beethoven ( NYU ).
In the year of 1769, Thomas Lawrence was born to his parents in Bristol, England. Though he was
born in Bristol, Lawrence grew up in Devizes and later on, in Bath and Oxford, where his self
education as an artist was furthered. In Devizes, Lawrence spent his childhood at his father s inn,
where he began his career as an artist. In these early years of his life, he taught

Conflict In Doctor Faustus
Doctor Faustus is basically a play by Christopher Marlowe firstly published in 1604, almost eleven
years after Marlowe s death and at least ten years after the first performance of the play. It is a story of
a man suffering because of his unquenchable thirst for knowledge and power that led him to his final
damnation. It is a play of deep questions which concerns morality, religion and man s relation with
both the things. This play actually fulfills the desire of the supernatural beliefs in the Elizabethan
times. And this play also conveys a strong message to its readers that instead of being greedy about
something one should simply listen to their conscience and should then take a right decision
accordingly.

That makes men foolish that do trust them most.
Good Angel. Sweet Faustus, think of honour and of wealth.
In the first part of this scene, Faustus mind begins to falter. There is a conflict within Faustus as to
whether he should carry out his plan or not. This inner conflict is then externalized by the appearance
of the Good Angel and the Bad Angel. The advice of the Good Angel and the Bad Angel serves to
keep constantly before us the struggle which Faustus is facing and reminds them that Faustus is in
severe danger of external damnation. The problem of salvation and damnation is now central to
Faustus conflict. He is deeply concerned over his own fate. In each appearance, Faustus is more
influenced by the advice of the Bad Angel, and thus Faustus centers his thinking on the wealth and
power that he is about to receive.
In Act 2, Scene 2, Faustus is in his study with Mephistopheles. He cursed the devil, for depriving him
of heaven. Through petty logic, Mephistopheles proves that heaven is inferior to men. The Good
Angel and the Bad Angel enter repeating their old advice. The Good Angel tells Faustus, that there is
still time to repent and she tells him that may be God will forgive you for your deeds. But the Bad
Angel tells him that, as Faustus is a spirit now, God cannot pity him or can show any kind of mercy on

topic was intense and that the two should smoke some weed to take the edge off, at this point, the
music begins with the lyrics This generation rules the nation with version, music happens to be the
food of love. The song selection was both aesthetically and narratively pleasing. It foreshadows that
the young Dev and Denise s generation will soon rule the nation with version once they become of
age. The generational reference is important because the prior generation is less understanding, such
as Denise s elders. Also, they will rule with version because there will be a change from the previous
generation. The lyrics music happen to be the food of love are situational irony within the scene
considering that the song references music being the food of love after talking about a taboo topic that
can fill many with hate. Also, the reference to food while the episode takes place on Thanksgiving also
makes the narrative play upon the lyrics. Aesthetically, the song is about recreational use of marijuana

Followers of the dark side are known for their emotional connection to the force and typically
harnessing anger and self interest as powerful tools of dark force wielders. The scene in which Kylo
Ren intentionally harms himself to harness his anger into power is a great example of this emotional
manipulation of the force. During his battle with Rey, Ren s emotions where a tool for him to achieve

German Art Observation Paper

Hoffmannesque Scene is a lithograph printed in black and colored inks on a wove paper that was

The print is presented with antique brass, pastel brown, pale gold, wheat, and pale chestnut. These
undertones of colors that are softened or moderated create a feeling of gloom and calm at the same
time. In addition, Klee used the technique of color blocking by overlapping squares. There is no
particular color that dominates the entire image or completely catches a viewer s attention. However,
Klee emphasized on harmonization of colors by considering not only the combination of the colors but
also the composition and the scale of the blocks. Each block blends harmoniously into one another so
that it creates a sense of rhythmical or rhythmic changes, even though those colors used are analogous.
Therefore, the print reminds me of lyrical melody, especially moody and gentle jazz music. While the
background of the print presents a sense of color, the artist detached color from physical description
and the objects are drawn childlike. Thus, the print looks like an illustrated page of a child s diary that
depicts an image of his or her

Research Report On Neonatal Mortality
Introduction: World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that neonatal mortality contributed to 38%
of under 5 mortality (1). Therefore reduction in neonatal mortality is an important target of WHO
(Millennium Development Goal 4 aimed at reduction under 5 mortality by two thirds by the year
2015). This can be achieved by provision of high quality neonatal care units equipped to offer
continuous observation, monitoring and intensive treatment to sick neonates. In order to give the best
available services, these neonatal units need continuous evaluation. Studying outcome of neonates
admitted to neonatal units is an important parameter of evaluation. Worldwide, many published
studies reported very different outcomes in terms of mortality and morbidity rates (2, 3, 4, 5). This can
be explained by different nature of population, different environmental conditions, different study
designs, variability in available resources and different patterns of neonatal problems from country to
another. Therefore mortality and morbidity figures can not be applied globally and each neonatal unit
needs to have its own figures. This helps strategic management planning and redirection of available
resources especially in developing countries where resources are very limited. Aim: To study Outcome
of neonates admitted to a neonatal unit in Upper Egypt Patients and methods: Place of study: Neonatal

Durability Lab Report
Abstract This report discusses the testing of the durability of the Ultra Thin Lifestyle, Trojan, and

commonly known as a rubber layer used when having intercourse and is considered a safe haven
because it helps prevent pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections in this case, we used ultra
thin rubber sheaths. Our hypothesis was that if Lifestyle cost more than Durex and Trojan, then
Lifestyle would have the most durability. We gathered our materials which included gloves, sealed
condoms, ball bearings, and a plastic bin. We took the mass of one ball bearing before starting to
know how to calculate how much intake each condom can endure and started putting them into each
condom until it broke. Our findings were that the durability of each brand was extremely inconsistent

Ball bearings were added to the condom until the condom broke. The number of ball bearings that it

The Gap Between Aboriginal And Torres
Theory assessment 1. I plan to close the gap between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders people and
between non Indigenous people by putting in place strategies that advocate cultural inclusivity. The
first strategies I would use would be would be to make people aware. Being aware of the local
aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander communality. Also being aware of their local heritage. When
the centre is aware of the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander community and the issues they may
have. The centre can work in partnership with the Aboriginal and Torrs Straight island community to
provide the best care for them. The next strategy I would use would be to provide great
communication skills. This is to provide and understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Straight
Islander community. The best way to communicate is to be a good listener, and being open when you
communicate. I would also recommend these strategies when communicating with Aboriginal and
Torres Straight Islanders: Treat everyone as an individual Being with a relationship of trust Use of a
mentor Use preferred local name for Indigenous people Acknowledge country Be and active listener
Seek more than one opinion Relationship first Use eye contract in a culturally appropriate way Use
silence positively Men s and women s business Indigenous language Become skilled at difficult

  • 2. Analysis Of A Humorous Wedding Scott and Keiya are some of the most delightful people our team has ever met. We had the pleasure of meeting them at the Bridal expo in Phoenix. • 3. Analysis Of The Entertainer By Scott Joplin The Entertainer by Scott Joplin The Entertainer composed by Scott Joplin, was created because, rag time in the 1902 was extremely popular between 1897 1917 . Moreover this music piece is resurrected for our entertainment in the 1973 Oscar winning movie The String The famous song published by John Stark Son of St. Louis, in the summer of December 29, 1902 was an song created for the lovers of ragtime music and dancers of the two step piece that was popular during this period. The original piece key signature is C Major but got transposed to F major for Tenor Saxophone playing. Therefore, the time signature is 4/4 with a tempo of 77 BPM with Mezzo Forte being the starting dynamic. One of the many style that you could analyze this ragtime piece is by using AA, BB, A, CC and in the second time DD. This technique was used in what many commentators would say African Americans... use.... freedom of speech in order to enhance their identity and presence in the United States of America , giving in those times a more inferior community, in America, a freedom a way to communicate. Throughout the song, the tone of the piece gives off a relaxing sound but gets tedious after a while since there is not much variation between the notes, and is quite repetitive all through the piece. The rhythm of the song is 4/4 timing which makes the characteristic identity with ragtime in its two step andate. Highlighted throughout the musical piece, there a waves of ostinato due to the ... Political Socialization Paper Political socialization the process in which people create and form new ideas that are mainly about politics and make assumptions about political points in today s society. China’s Most-Favored-Nation Trade Status Essay China s Most Favored Nation Trade Status If the United States is going to stand by and let China break the agreement that we have set then what is the point of having rules or laws in the first place? After the Civil War granting African Americans their freedom, Frederick Douglass became a political activist against the institution of slavery. He combined his efforts with John Brown, an abolitionist, engaging in strong minded debates in figuring out whether the U.S Constitution was proslavery, antislavery, created for the well being of all men or only white men. Douglass gained the knowledge of political reform and how to go about movements, in his case, abolition movements, and later on assisting in women rights movements. He learned that being looked upon in politics, as an intelligent and well respected individual without pursuing force would be the best way to gain his victory. In 1998 JCPenney introduced its online catalog service; in the beginnings JCPenney s catalog was strictly paper and a major player in its business strategy and profits. • 9. Analysis Of 320 By Emily Dickinson 320 Emily Dickinson wrote 320 in a form in a form that is not traditional. It is written in a closed sense given it is written quatrains that frequently rhyme, but it does not fall into a traditional pattern. Dickinson generally follows the pattern of writing the first and third lines of each stanza in iambic tetrameter and the second and fourth lines in iambic trimeter. Other times, she uses Trochees in random times making the form sound choppy. For example, in the first stanza she uses the trochee certain and winter . Both of these create a rough sentence. The poem goes into pause at many times throughout the poem, thus bringing out the dissatisfaction and difficult time the poem is describing. There is no way to tell who is speaking in this poem. Dickinson generally wrote as if the narrator was somebody parallel or close to herself; however, in 320 there are no signs of if it is Dickinson or one of her other popular characters. The narrator seems to be speaking as if they are part of a group, as the only pronouns mentioned are us and we . This us could be up for interpretation; it could be a small group experiencing death or even the entire human population as a whole and their view of God. Dickinson uses strong imagery in the first stanza. The reader imagines the booming sounds of large cathedral organs and the way the bass of them shakes your soul. She adds a negative connotation to these shakes by stating it oppresses the narrator. Following, Dickinson uses the metaphor of a slant of light on a winter afternoon to the opening her internal pain. As the slant of light opens, it is essentially opening up a seal of despair. Nothing external has affected the body; however, the heartbreak from the pain the narrator is dealing with leaves behind marks on her soul. She follows this theme through the entire poem that the slant of light has brought pain upon her. Dickinson starts with a relatively positive tone. When stating There s a certain Slant of light / Winter Afternoons the reader has the visual of a small light shining through on a white surface. This tone quickly changes when it is followed by That oppresses, like the Heft / Of Cathedral Tunes giving off the interpretation of a light that hits ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This person will just go to pass the tests but will quickly learn and forget the language. Even in our case as students it is technically an intellectual motivation for our degree but for many there is an actual reason they wanted to take ASL. • 14. The Article Being Poor, Black And Americ Impact Of... Introduction The article Being Poor, Black and American: The Impact of Political, Economic, and Cultural Forces written by William Julius Wilson is about the struggles and inequalities African Americans living in poverty encounter. Wilson discussed political, economic and cultural forces that have an impact on American impoverished communities. The author suggested the natural disaster of Hurricane Katrina brought the media and world attention to poverty in the United States. Prior to Katrina, the author believes Americans did not focus or sympathize with poor communities. This unsympathetic attitude stems from the belief that people are poor because they did not work hard enough, or are not doing anything to get out of that situation. After Katrina, Americans started to notice and care about the impoverished communities because the hurricane was a natural disaster and out of their control. Overall, the author explains how politics, economics and cultures forced many families into poverty, and diminishes the idea that people live in poverty because of their own shortcomings. Political Force The author explained how the government established policies and initiatives that created ghettos and suburbs. The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) is a program that helped citizens become homeowners by lending loans. However, only certain neighborhoods qualified for those loans. • 15. Background Of An Authorised Firearms Officer Chapter 1 Background When an authorised firearms officer in the police is involved in a shooting, procedures and guidelines are firmly incorporated to ensure that investigations are thoroughly carried out. However, most police officers in England and Wales will never possess a firearm, face a gun or discharge one as this supports the ideology that police officers in England and Wales have no desire to carry a firearm routinely (Rostker, 2008, p. 78) It is not a common occurrence for a weapon to be discharged in any firearms incident in England and Wales, for example if a firearm is discharged following an alert, over half the rounds fired are believed to miss their intended target and of those people hit by a round, more than half survive (Punch, 2011, p. 1). A similar situation also exists in the United States of America. The United States are viewed in the Western society as extreme in relation to weapons and violence because of its high police response rates to its widespread strong gun culture (Crank, 1998, p. 152). The United States will be introduced as a comparator to this research as it is already highly compared to other societies where the sale of weapons and its regulation is minimal, with only local law enforcement agencies setting the policy with no national policing system. A report released in 2012 by the Federal Bureau of Investigation stated that 410 Americans were lawfully killed by the police with only one victim unarmed (2013). However, during ... Both Tom and Galadriel, in The Lord of the Ring, portray Tolkien s respect for nature and strong spirituality, because they are powerful creatures, yet able to live a balanced life. Tom Bombadil was the master of the forest he lived in, and Frodo s magic ring had no effect on him. Lady Galadriel was an Elf ruler and was able to withstand the temptation of the magic ring. The magic ring symbolizes the corruption and power, leading to an unsustainable world. For example, society has an unsustainable demand for oil. Oil pipelines, such as the Keystone, have lessened the beauty of nature where they have been built. • 22. Child Abuse And Child Discipline One of the most controversial topics is the difference between child abuse and child discipline. Abuse is any action that intentionally harms or injures another person. Discipline is punishment that is intended to correct or train. Some parents do not see the harm in their form of discipline, but others may view it as abuse. It may not be the parent s intention to harm their child but it is something that occurs. In 2012, state agencies found an estimate 686,000 of child maltreatment. .*(*Kids Count) Every year more than 3 million reports of child abuse are made in the United States involving more than 6 million children (a report can include multiple children). Child abuse is when a parent or caregiver, whether through an action or failing to act causes injury, death, or emotional harm to the child. A parent is responsible for disciplining their child, but some may have a tendency of using extreme measures. In my opinion, I think in certain cases mild physical punishment is acceptable. However, severe physical punishment should be avoided at all times, because this is not healthy for the child. Some parents do not know how to handle a child that is misbehaving, which is the reason abusive discipline occurs. There are instances when a child s misbehavior can cause abuse to the parent. The parent will reach a level of anger that will provoke them to automatically slap or hit the child. In which case the parent believes physical force is an acceptable form of punishment. ... Fiber optic technology is often discussed in a wide range of conversations. This may be when people talk about TVs, phones, internet, or general technology. Fiber optics may also be referred to when talking about light and optics. An optical fiber is defined as a flexible, transparent fiber made by drawing glass (silica) or plastic to a diameter slightly thicker than that of human hair (Wikipedia). These fibers are used as a means of light transmission from one end of the fiber to the other end of the fiber and this is referred to as fiber optic communications. These fibers are quite technologically advanced because they have the ability to transmit more data and at a quicker rate than normal cables made of wire. There is also much less lost data when using fiber optic technology. Clearly, the benefits of fiber optics are much greater than traditional wired cables. Fiber optic cables are also used for the purpose of lighting and sensing. There are already many practical applications of the technology such as lasers, but these applications are just the beginning of the potential of this powerful technology. II. • 31. The Classical Period Of The Baroque Era The Classical time period, which spanned a length of seventy years, from 1750 to 1820, was very different in nature from its predecessor, the Baroque time period. The Baroque era featured works that were ornamentally elaborate, where the artists and composers centered their works on a big, bold style that was dramatic in its composition. Artists and composers transferred strong feelings of tension and emotion into their works and it was common for there to be some type of action or movement happening within the work. Those who lived in the Classical time period, valued simplicity and wanted to return to the ideals of the Greeks. Therefore, the Classical time period is characterized by clear structural clarity, simplicity, smoothness, and symmetry. However, though the works took a step back from the grand movement of the Baroque era, the composers and artists of the Classical time period did lay out a tuneful and elegant style in their music and art. Out of the Classical era came many renowned artists and composers, two of those whom are artist Sir Thomas Lawrence and composer Ludwig van Beethoven ( NYU ). In the year of 1769, Thomas Lawrence was born to his parents in Bristol, England. Though he was born in Bristol, Lawrence grew up in Devizes and later on, in Bath and Oxford, where his self education as an artist was furthered. In Devizes, Lawrence spent his childhood at his father s inn, where he began his career as an artist. In these early years of his life, he taught ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Conflict In Doctor Faustus Doctor Faustus is basically a play by Christopher Marlowe firstly published in 1604, almost eleven years after Marlowe s death and at least ten years after the first performance of the play. It is a story of a man suffering because of his unquenchable thirst for knowledge and power that led him to his final damnation. It is a play of deep questions which concerns morality, religion and man s relation with both the things. This play actually fulfills the desire of the supernatural beliefs in the Elizabethan times. And this play also conveys a strong message to its readers that instead of being greedy about something one should simply listen to their conscience and should then take a right decision accordingly. Rather illusions, fruits of lunacy, That makes men foolish that do trust them most. Good Angel. Sweet Faustus, think of honour and of wealth. In the first part of this scene, Faustus mind begins to falter. There is a conflict within Faustus as to whether he should carry out his plan or not. This inner conflict is then externalized by the appearance of the Good Angel and the Bad Angel. The advice of the Good Angel and the Bad Angel serves to keep constantly before us the struggle which Faustus is facing and reminds them that Faustus is in severe danger of external damnation. The problem of salvation and damnation is now central to Faustus conflict. He is deeply concerned over his own fate. In each appearance, Faustus is more influenced by the advice of the Bad Angel, and thus Faustus centers his thinking on the wealth and power that he is about to receive. In Act 2, Scene 2, Faustus is in his study with Mephistopheles. He cursed the devil, for depriving him of heaven. Through petty logic, Mephistopheles proves that heaven is inferior to men. The Good Angel and the Bad Angel enter repeating their old advice. The Good Angel tells Faustus, that there is still time to repent and she tells him that may be God will forgive you for your deeds. But the Bad Angel tells him that, as Faustus is a spirit now, God cannot pity him or can show any kind of mercy on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The song selection was both aesthetically and narratively pleasing. It foreshadows that the young Dev and Denise s generation will soon rule the nation with version once they become of age. The generational reference is important because the prior generation is less understanding, such as Denise s elders. Also, they will rule with version because there will be a change from the previous generation. The lyrics music happen to be the food of love are situational irony within the scene considering that the song references music being the food of love after talking about a taboo topic that can fill many with hate. Also, the reference to food while the episode takes place on Thanksgiving also makes the narrative play upon the lyrics. Aesthetically, the song is about recreational use of marijuana which is ... The scene in which Kylo Ren intentionally harms himself to harness his anger into power is a great example of this emotional manipulation of the force. German Art Observation Paper I visited Los Angeles County Museum of Art for the exhibition named Form in Fragments: Abstraction in German Art, 1906 1925 which highlighted in abstraction in German Expressionism. The exhibition was composed of over 60 works including works by Wassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, Lyonel Feininger, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Paul Klee, Erich Heckel, Otto Dix, and an abstract film by Hans Richter. Among the many works on view, one of the Paul Klee s prints titled Hoffmannesque Scene caught my eye. Hoffmannesque Scene is a lithograph printed in black and colored inks on a wove paper that was created in 1921 in Germany. The title of the print tells you that it recounts a particular scene that was inspired by something. This abstract print depicts the freeform shapes of objects including human and animal with shaded blocks. The depiction of the scene resembles cave and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The print is presented with antique brass, pastel brown, pale gold, wheat, and pale chestnut. These undertones of colors that are softened or moderated create a feeling of gloom and calm at the same time. In addition, Klee used the technique of color blocking by overlapping squares. There is no particular color that dominates the entire image or completely catches a viewer s attention. However, Klee emphasized on harmonization of colors by considering not only the combination of the colors but also the composition and the scale of the blocks. Each block blends harmoniously into one another so that it creates a sense of rhythmical or rhythmic changes, even though those colors used are analogous. Therefore, the print reminds me of lyrical melody, especially moody and gentle jazz music. While the background of the print presents a sense of color, the artist detached color from physical description and the objects are drawn childlike. Thus, the print looks like an illustrated page of a child s diary that depicts an image of his or her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Research Report On Neonatal Mortality Introduction: World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that neonatal mortality contributed to 38% of under 5 mortality (1). Therefore reduction in neonatal mortality is an important target of WHO (Millennium Development Goal 4 aimed at reduction under 5 mortality by two thirds by the year 2015). This can be achieved by provision of high quality neonatal care units equipped to offer continuous observation, monitoring and intensive treatment to sick neonates. In order to give the best available services, these neonatal units need continuous evaluation. Studying outcome of neonates admitted to neonatal units is an important parameter of evaluation. Worldwide, many published studies reported very different outcomes in terms of mortality and morbidity rates (2, 3, 4, 5). This can be explained by different nature of population, different environmental conditions, different study designs, variability in available resources and different patterns of neonatal problems from country to another. Therefore mortality and morbidity figures can not be applied globally and each neonatal unit needs to have its own figures. This helps strategic management planning and redirection of available resources especially in developing countries where resources are very limited. • 40. Durability Lab Report Abstract This report discusses the testing of the durability of the Ultra Thin Lifestyle, Trojan, and Durex Condoms by putting ball bearings in each condom until it broke for 3 trial runs. They are commonly known as a rubber layer used when having intercourse and is considered a safe haven because it helps prevent pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections in this case, we used ultra thin rubber sheaths. Our hypothesis was that if Lifestyle cost more than Durex and Trojan, then Lifestyle would have the most durability. We gathered our materials which included gloves, sealed condoms, ball bearings, and a plastic bin. We took the mass of one ball bearing before starting to know how to calculate how much intake each condom can endure and started putting them into each condom until it broke. Our findings were that the durability of each brand was extremely inconsistent during the three trial experiment. In addition, it meant we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the centre is aware of the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander community and the issues they may have. The centre can work in partnership with the Aboriginal and Torrs Straight island community to provide the best care for them.
