Texas Water Management
Texas 12th District Water Management Water rights is a very interesting topic that may have no
right answer, but Texas has tried to answer as many questions as possible about who owns what
water. In the case of groundwater, Texas has historically given the right to pump the groundwater
to the individual person that owns the land, however, this person does not own the groundwater.
The landowner may pump as much water as they want even if it completely drains neighboring
peoples water sources, the water can also be sold to other entities. All major surface water is
claimed by the Texasgovernment, with an exemption for domestic use and livestock. Ownership of
water in rivers and streams are given to the landowner if the waterbed cannot be navigated,... Show

The Red River Compact Commission was created and signed by 1978 by 4 states Texas,
Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. The Red River, the northern boundary of a lot of the state, is
a major water source for all four of these states and was being fought over until this commission
was made to help solve many of the disputes that could come up. Similarly, Texas has more
agreements with other states including the Sabine River Compact Commission and the Rio Grande
Compact. These commission serves the same purpose as the other commission, to make sure that
all states receive the correct amount of water and that neither state ruins the water for any other one.
The United States has an agreement with Mexico regarding the Colorado River that helps decide
what should be done with a river that gives water to more than 33 million people across the two
nations. The agreement is made to help the Colorado River make it back to the Ocean which
will in turn help refill Lake Mead, the main source of water for the city of Los Vegas. The major
treaty between the US and Mexico that Texas has a large hand in is the Treaty of February 3,
1994. This treaty restricts the water that the other country can take from the Rio Grande river, and
guarantees the US one third of the water from 5 tributaries in Mexico, and guarantees Mexico all of
the water from two other tributaries. This treaty also allows both nations to dam parts of this

My Experience With The Hip Hop Culture
PART ONE A When reflecting on my experiences and knowledge of popular culture, I arrived with
a number of remarkable questions and concerns:
Why do I care so much about the lives of celebrities? (Why do I Keep Up With the Kardashians ?)
Do I want to be like the celebrities I glorify? Is my desired profession for working in the film
industry driven by popular culture eminence? How influential or brainwashing has popular
culture been a factor in my lifestyle? Is it a good or bad influence? Does popular culture have an
effect on my self esteem? Has popular culture prematurely exposed me to social vices? (Sex?
Drugs? Violence?) Why do I identify with the hip hop culture? What is the message that I am
given when listening to hip hop music? What does my taste in music say about me? Am I
defined by society due to popular culture stereotypes? Is my judgment or perception on beauty
along with different races, gender, and sexualities skewed by popular culture standards and
stereotypes? What benefit or significance do I receive from consuming popular culture news?
Does popular culture offer me any more than just material to fill my time with frivolous talk and
gossip? How much time am I consuming because of popular culture? Why do I feel out the loop
if I m not immersed in the latest trends? How am I empowered of my knowledge about popular
culture news? Do I get sense of shared identity, meaning and purpose through popular culture? Does
popular culture sell me as a

This new territory caused the first major shift in the strategic thinking of Virgin as the airline was

Virgin s music, retail, and vision business was brought together to form the Virgin Groupand 35%

that shareholders would hold on direction and this was not in keeping with his nonconformist style
and also that he felt that his organization was misunderstood and undervalued by so called experts.
The organization culture at Virgin was also at risk in this new arrangement and he seized the
opportunity presented by the 1987 stock market crash to buy out external shareholders. Back in
private hands Virgin continued to grow using funds realized from Virgin Atlantic and loans to seek

Essay on Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Diagnostic Imaging: A Sound Career in Sonography One of the main reasons for choosing a
healthcare career in todays society, aside from the basic need for a self sustaining income, is the
opportunity to make differences in peoples lives. With the demand for healthcare professionals and
alternative medicines on the rise, so is the need for adequately educated trained personnel.
Diagnostic Medical Sonography is becoming an increasingly attractive alternative to radiologic
procedures such as x ray and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Accounting for approximately
50,300 jobs in the United States in 2008, compared to the 214,000 jobs held by radiologic

Detailed oriented individuals with biological science and mathematic backgrounds contribute to the
field of sonography. The increasing demand for diagnostic imaging and therapeutic technology
promises an exceptional outlook for sonographers. The majority of diagnostic medical sonographers
are employed by hospitals, but accessibility to low cost portable ultrasound equipment has led to a
growing number of career opportunities at clinics and diagnostic centers (Rising Demand for
Diagnostic Medical Sonographers). They now have access to portable units as small as laptop
computers making commuting from hospital bedsides to clinical practices easier. Since some
sonographers make their own schedules through contracts with clinics, these portable units make
traveling much more convenient. Less means more in terms of health risks. Unlike some imaging
methods, sonography doesn t involve radiation, harmful side effects, nor complications from
repeated exposure for both patient and sonographer. Although, due to repetitive movements they are
unfortunately prone to musculoskeletal pains. In a report, Murphy and Russo show In Figure 1 an
illustration of the anatomical sites of discomfort reported by sonographers, showing that higher
numbers of respondents experienced discomfort in the shoulder, neck, low back, wrist and hand

Network Virtualization Using Generic Routing Encapsulation
RFC 7637: NETWORK VIRTUALIZATION USING GENERIC ROUTING
ENCAPSULATION AKSHAY HARISH WASANKAR Student ID: 44649479 Southern
Methodist University EETS 8317 Switching and QoS Management in IP Networks Dr. Kamakshi
Sridhar April 28, 2016 Abstract This paper explores the details of RFC 7637 which is based on
Network Virtualization using Generic Routing Encapsulation. The purpose of this paper is to
describe the usage of Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) header for Network Virtualization
(NVGRE) in multi tenant data centers. Several issues with traditional data center designs such as
static workloads, limitations on dynamic allocation of server and network, oversubscribed network
when using RSTP to avoid loops, 4K subnet limit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Traditional Data Centers have obsolete design catering to static workloads, fragmented
networks and server capacity limiting the dynamic allocation and consolidation of capacity.
Most Layer 2 networks use rapid spanning tree protocol to eliminate possible loops by blocking
redundant paths, but it results in wasted capacity and oversubscribed network. Network
fragmentation and VLANs are used for traffic management, security, performance and broadcast
isolation among services belonging to different clients or tenants. For forwarding VLAN tagged
packets, each layer 2 device needs to be configured and each layer 3 subnet needs to be mapped
to one VLAN. In the data center infrastructure which is shared by multiple tenants, the 4000
VLAN limit is no longer acceptable. Also migrating workloads require network to be re
configured which can consume resources and be error prone. To respond to dynamic workloads
and demands, network administrators and operators must be to achieve high utilization of
server and network capacity, be able to assign workloads operating in single layer 2 network to
any server in any rack in the network, be able to move workloads without re configuring the
network. This is achieved by decoupling the workload s location from its network address.
Therefore, key design objectives for the modern data centers are: Location independent addressing
Scalable number of Layer2/layer 3 networks regardless of number of VLANS or underlying

thought was very cute, however my good friend George was not pleased with me as he took the
class because of me, and also because he likes me so he didn t want me to do a project with a cute
boy. Also George and I have been friends for a few months so we already knew the differences
between us as he is very religious and I am very atheist. Also I m a very active outdoorsy person
and he is very wimpy and unathletic so we knew that we would have a lot of options for the project

This hating on atheists continued for some time until the man finally said that Easter was
important because while these people like Thomas Jefferson were non believers a lot of their
accomplishments revolved around ideas that originated from Jesus, and then gave examples of
the constitution that were referenced from the new testament and claimed that Easter was
important because the death and rebirth of Jesus shaped the way our society was, and claimed
that that s why America only has had on constitution because it was based on Jesus. And while I
found that to be a little farfetched I admired the way that the pastor was able to turn something
that was negative for these people, as they were all upset, into something positive for them that
reinstated their beliefs. Then after this part of the sermon hey had a message from god s word
quoted from 1 Peter 1:3 5 and everyone stood up and said it with pride. After during the
congregational response the pastor said something that I really admired. He said I know that we all
want to think that we are a religion without flaws, but we have done some awful things as
Christians throughout our time, we led the crusades, had witch trails, advocated for slavery, the

Women s National Soccer Team
From a young age, children are conditioned to always think about what they want to be when
they grow up. Many of them dream to be a ballerina, firefighter, or an astronaut. With age comes
maturity, and those aspirations pass, but simultaneously new, more realistic ones arise. To reach
these new goals, these children work toward their dream through dedication, which can be seen in
the studying or training they do. In today s society females have more opportunity to do what
they dream. There are young women who are assiduously working to get a college degree and a
steady job. Then, there are also women who are training to become a professional athlete, with the
aspiration of becoming a member of the United StatesWomen s National Soccer Team (USWNT).
In today s society, women can pursue their goals, however, if compared to men s sports, there
can be differences seen that keep women from reaching full potential, equality, and their dreams.
An evident and popular difference is the wage gap between men and women, especially after five
members of the USWNT, filed a suit with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commision about a
violation of the Equal Pay Act. Carli Lloyd, Alex Morgan, Hope Solo, Becky Sauerbrunn, and
Megan Rapinoe, later followed by Christian Press and Morgan Brian, have created a social
movement to end what they call gender discrimination. Five of the previously stated women,
expressed their opinions on the news show, 60 Minutes. They delve into why it is wrong

Controversial And Provocative Art
Controversial and provocative art has been around for a long time. Artists realize that no matter
how the artwork is being portrayed, someone will somehow be offended by your work. But we
still create artworks that supposedly offend a number of audiences. To deal with offensive
images is often a ritual of theatrical excess. But as these images offend some, there are people
who do not get offended by the same image. Iconophobia syndrome is a fear and anxiety of
images. Blaming of images and mass media for our bad behavior, moral decay and the outbreak
of violence. It is then that people often create rules or laws that decide what to censor and what
not to censor. People also do use the law as an excuse and as an argument to why an image
should be considered controversial or provocative. It is convenient for people to use the law as
an excuse to take down an artwork that offends a handful. Controversial and provocative art are
mostly art that is context based as art that is made with that in mind are expressed by the artist in
regards to events that are happening or have had happened. The image possesses a kind of living
character that makes it capable of feeling that is down to it. When asked to... Show more content on

The ancient Christians have always thought art to be representative. The church s attitude
towards art was that the goodness was always linked to light and the bad is always dark. There
were hardly any independent speculative or analytical inquiries about art as artists then were
doing artworks that were based on verses from the bible because the people could not read. Art
was never discussed as art. Artworks then were always made based on religion and theology. It was
the Christians main concern with converting the public by using images to tell the stories about the
life and accomplishment of Jesus

examines and gives light to the lives of the presidents before taking office. This book is comprised

makes each presidentexcellent, terrible, or in between according to their rating system. To be
frank, I enjoyed this book. This book was my first chance to catch up or so to speak on
presidents that I generally had little knowledge of. At first I was skeptical of the book, questioning

The book compares him to Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the fact that people of his party love
him, while people who oppose him are unapproving of much of what Regan did in office. Regan
has become famous for taking the status quo and changing what people have come to
understand regarding the Republican party. Regan was a Republican; however, he was not a
conservative Republican. He believed that he could sway Democrats to his ideology on some
aspects. Regan was a people s president in some respects. He kept his speeches short and to the
point, and used jokes to communicate with people. There is a reason he has become known as
the Great Communicator If I had a critique of this book it would simply be that I would have
liked to have seen a little more information on some presidents; however I also understand that it
is difficult to describe every factor of each president without having a 5000 page book. Overall
though, I would give this book an 8/10 rating. It was informative without being boring, and
entertaining without being fictional. The book has a lot to be desired for those who are new to
studying presidents. This book does spend time focusing information on each president highlighting
their ups and downs in and out of the White House. One thing that I enjoyed about this book is that
different authors are used for each president. I think that using experts for each president made this

Graduation memoir Senior year! Every senior is eager for graduation, their making college

freshman year of high school. We went from being at the top of the school to being at the
bottom of a new one. All of our middle school teachers always told us about how our high school
teachers wont hold our hands and how we will be on our own. Being in high school is completely
different than being in elementary school and middle school. Its almost like each year we have
more and more freedom but more responsibility. Sophomore year was when it got more difficult

Phaedra and Enlightenment
Phaedra and Enlightenment values The Enlightenment period was began shortly after the Edict of
Nantes in 1685 and lasted through the 18th century. This was an intellectual movement and the
writers of this period disapproved of religion and politics ruled by absolutism. The movement
would question almost every aspect of social and political life in Europe (Hunt, 522). The writers
and scholars that had enlightened views were those who believed that all people are able to apply
reason or critical thinking to all issues that may arise in their lives. The countries that were affected
most by the Atlantic system were participants in the enlightenment movement, such as: Britain,
France and the Dutch Republic (Hunt, 522). Jean Racine... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

interpretation. The following semiotic analysis of the advertisement for Frank Rippingille s patent

Value of a Bachelors Degree
June 1, 2013 ENG 112 0011S Is a Bachelors Degree Only Worth the Prestige? Having a bachelor
degree was a way of showing how successful you have become in your life. The value of these
degrees has come into question recently. The value of a bachelor s degree has dropped
significantly over the years. We will look into why the value of the degree has depreciated over
the years. For starters, someone with a Bachelors degree could have expected to receive top
priority when being considered for a job position. Today, a bachelors degree might get your foot in

more difficult. Secondly, depending on your field of study, getting a bachelors degree... Show more

Perhaps worst of all, even those who do manage to graduate too, rarely end up in careers that
require a college education. Many college graduates are still unemployed because they have not
been able to get a job in their field or have took another job that has nothing to do what they went
to school for. (Nemko 561).The store clerk at your local grocery store could hold a Bachelor s in
Science and is waiting for his or her dream career. Forty eight percent of employed college
graduates are in jobs that require less than a four year degree (Adams). Students that are more
likely to get a job out of college are those that are in STEM (science, technology, engineering or

them to have a four year college degree than none STEM graduates. One of the reasons graduates
is having a hard time finding a job is because companies are offshoring. Moving their companies

the business that has left some of their offices in the United States is only hiring part time

The Between Antioch And Cyprian Of Carthage
Though writing at different times and to different audiences, both Ignatius of Antioch and Cyprian
of Carthage found their voices in addressing the topic of Church unity, among other themes. In the
midst of impending or recent persecution, both Ignatius and Cyprian warned against schism and
encouraged the Church to persevere in the face of confusion. Ignatius and Cyprian both treat church
unity as a gift from the Holy Spirit to be preserved, and also claim that this unity is dependent on
perseverance in faith, unified participation in the sacraments, and respecting the integrity of
apostolic succession. Without unification of and among these three elements, both Ignatius and
Cyprian resolve that true unity, and thus salvation, is unattainable.
To begin, it is worth looking at the language with which both Ignatius and Cyprian speak of unity.
In both Ignatius letters, and Cyprians The Unity of the Catholic Church (The Unity), the writers
paint beautiful, glorious pictures of a unified Church while also speaking sternly of its importance.
In his letter to the Ephesians Ignatius says, Yes, one and all, you should form yourselves into a
choir, so that, in perfect harmony and taking your pitch from God, you may sing in unison and with
one voice to the Father through Jesus Christ...Therefore you need to abide in irreproachable unity
if you really want to be God s members forever (Ephesians 4). In similarly beautiful yet severe
language, Cyprian writes, God is one and Christ is

Circus Maximus Essay
Circus Maximus, Rome
Hazel Roudebush

Did you know that Circus Maximus could seat nearly a quarter of Rome s population? That s
why it was one of the biggest and best arenas in ancient Rome. It could seat 250,000 spectators,
and had 300,000 seats. It was HUGE, 2037 feet in length and 387 feet in width. It had a
circumference of a mile. It was situated between 2 hills, the Aventine and Palatine hills, and when it
started, spectators watched from there. It had its share of blood and difficulties, but it can t be
denied that Circus Maximus was awe inspiring.
The Circus Maximus was one of the best constructed buildings in ancient Rome, able to withstand a
lot! After burning down twice, It was reconstructed using concrete and marble, making it stronger
and more beautiful than ever (romeguide.it). It was originally made entirely of wood, making it
easier for it to catch fire or collapse, as it also did twice (romeguide.it). There was a separate
imperial box for the Emperor and the royal family, making it a more popular place with important
persons and the Emperor himself (tribunesandtriumphs.org). After its being reconstructed for the
second time by Trajan, Pliny the Younger stated that it rivaled even the beauty of the temples...

Maximus had 300,000 seats, as I said before, so lots of Romans could come to events, boosting
the popularity of the Circus (romeguide.it). Finally, the Circus also hosted religious events, and
inside there was a built in shrine and 2 huge obelisks, the smaller of which was 88 feet high

Trader Joes had a plan to achieve their goals as a flourishing company. Gardiner also says, A

and employees, the better (Gierasimczuk, 2012). With this theory comes hiring more people and
being more engaging. That means paying a little bit more to hire staff with better than average
social skills. A goal commitment is the determination to achieve a goal. Gardiner states, A great
brand advertising campaign can make new customers flock to your store or try your product for
the first time; but no matter how brilliant your ad is, if the customer s direct experience sucks,
you suck; In fact, the higher you raise customer expectations, the worse you suck; Focus on the
customer experience. (Gierasimczuk, 2012). Value number six is what Trader Joe s does not do,

Explain The Euthyphro Dilemma
The Euthyphro dilemma is the question if Gods commands are moral because they are
inherently good or because the commands are divinely commanded and are moral. (Cook 99) If
people are following the commands of religion without the internal reflection of its rationality as
it pertains to ethical and moral justice, then one could perform acts that defy rational morality
because of their faith. (Cook 99) On the other side, one that rejects religious faith and goes fully
off their own moral compass has the problem of that there is no baseline for them to align their
moral compass. For example, on a ship, there are multiple compasses that can each check against
each other to determine error and accuracy for corrections. When there is a single compass if it
goes off course then the ship will also become off course. So the overall dilemma is determining the

Jonsen defines casuistry is the practical reasoning that takes place within a religion to discuss
how the religious text is interpreted and what is relevant in modern times. (Jonsen) The three
religions that Jonsen discusses their casuistry are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Jewish
casuistry is Teshuva, which is the collection of discussions by Rabbi on topics in the Torah that
have become ... major secondary source of Jewish Law. (Jonsen 106) Christianity casuistry is the
development of confession and the bishops collection to make a unified system of church law.
(Jonsen 107) Islamic casuistry was first the judges designed to interpret the Qur an and then the
teachings and opinions of the mufti. (108 Jonsen) All three religions developed a system in that
the old text was examined debated and then pushed out in law or opinion of how the text pertained
to modern life. Those systems are still in effect to some degree

Reflection Paper On Swimming
Attentiveness is a key value the team holds. Everyone needs to be there and ready to go by the
start of practice. If someone is late they get talked to by one of the coaches which is one of their
sanctions they practice. Being attentive is a good lesson swimmers learn that gets them ready
for having a job after college. At morning practice, it is kind of astonishing to see the swimmers
being unexpectedly energetic, especially at 5:40 AM. Before jumping into the pool, I noticed a
lot of the swimmers were doing some sort of dance. They were swinging their arms, jumping up
and down, stretching, etc. I think They are doing some dynamic warm ups they go through
before entering into the pool. They do this to get them loose and ready to swim. It almost as if it
is a ritual they do before every practice or before every event at a meet. It like how Michael
Phelps flops his arms around behind the blocks before racing. Swimmers are a unique subculture
as well. I feel as if they are pretty open minded and generally nice people. There are a few
characteristic that set swimmers apart from the normal culture. Most of them have big shoulders
which makes sense because they use them every day in the water. Sometimes one can tell a
swimmer from how their hair looks. Some have distinguishable fried hair that is shiny and messy.
Another thing to tell a swimmer is by the amount of food they eat. If anyone has seen a group of
swimmers at the cafeteria at their school, it is mostly likely one

Powerlifting Squat
Before you get under the bar, there are a few necessary steps needed to perform a proper
powerlifting squat. Some off these steps aren t full required, but are highly recommended. The
items required for a competition squat are a 100% polyester powerlifting suit, flat bottom tenny
shoes, 100% cotton tighty whities, and long ankle socks. The first step in preparing for a
competition squat is putting on the suit. The US high school powerliftingassociation requires all
lifters of both genders to wear tight and white underwear or go coverless. Most lifters prefer to
go coverless for more comfort. A powerlifting suit should be as tight as possible for maximum
support. Now it s time for socks and shoes. Your socks must be 100% cotton and white or the
judges won t let you lift. Your shoes must be flat bottom because any shoe with a long heel can
lead to major ankle and knee injuries. Next is the dreaded warm up. The warm up is a crucial
part of powerlifting. Not warming up can lead to major joint discomfort and soreness. When
warming up, make sure to treat it as an actual lift. Try to imagine the judges giving you your
commands and try to perform as best as possible with light weights. The commands... Show more

Sadomasochism Essay
Sadomasochism Sadomasochism is a sexually deviant behavior that is practiced by many people
within today s society. It is the combination of two paraphilias, sadism and masochism, which are
usually always linked together. An occasional mild or light form of sadomasochism (or S M for
short), is considerably common among the general population. Many people often enjoy being
mildly dominant or submissive during lovemaking. They believe that it makes the experience
more enjoyable. But when S M becomes the dominating feature of a person s sexuality, that is
when he or she is considered deviant. Unlike other paraphilias, sadomasochism includes a large
population of women as well as men. They are nearly equally balanced in... Show more content on

Hypoxyphilia is a fairly common practice where a person chooses to enhance their sexual
arousal by voluntarily depriving himself or herself of oxygen. In order to become deprived of
oxygen, people usually use plastic bags, rope, or their partner s hands to choke their partner
once consent is given. This practice is dangerous and can possibly even result in a tragic death
(Rathus, Nevid, Fichner Rathus, p545 546). Masochism s counterpart, sadism, is the complete
opposite for many reasons. Sadism is a parphilia, which is characterized by the association of
sexual satisfaction with the infliction of pain or humiliation onto others. The term sadism refers
to a French author and philosopher, Marquis de Sade (1740 1814). Marquis de Sade wrote stories
of people who became sexually aroused by inflicting pain or humiliation on others. Some of his best
known works are Justine (published in 1791) and Juliette (published in 1797). A sadist receives
sexual gratification by role playing. They usually play the authority figure who inflicts pain,
humiliates, disciplines, and plays master to another person (Ernulf Innala, p637). Most sadists hurt
and humiliate willing partners who are usually masochists. A small minority of sadists may even
attempt to stalk and attack their unwilling victims. This is a very dangerous and harmful to its
participants. In fact, Sigmund Freud wrote extensively on sadism. In his research, he recognized its
existence in the individual and

A Clockwork Orange Symbolism In The Great Gatsby
Anthony Burgess 1963 novel A Clockwork Orange, orbits around a extremely dynamic character
that goes by simply, Alex. Alex does have three other droogs that he drags along with him, Pete,
Georgie, and Dim, Dim being really dim (Burgess 3). Burgess brilliant mind drags the reader in by
starting the novel at The Korova Milkbar, which is a mesto, place, where Alexand his droogs drink
some milk with a little surprise of liquor in their beverages. Later they end up leaving the Milkbar,
while they are on their way to a different bar they spot a helpless old man walking home, therefore,
they take the opportunity to beat the innocent old man, ripping the books he was caring to shreds,
and stripping him of his clothing. This was the first of many crimes the fourteen year olds

powerful to be around, they turn in him to the police in order so he could get arrested, and they
wouldn t have to worry about having to deal with somebody that is way too powerful for them.
Similarities also happen in Her Best Friend when Amy Parker, the protagonist, is his love with
her best friend s husband. The normal person will not interfere and let her friend have eternal
happiness, but she goes after him and completely backstabs her best friend leaving them in a
battle of who will keep the guy and who would be victorious in the end. Both novels show just
how people will be there for you, they show just how powerful their friendships are, both novels

The Story Of Tom Brennan Analysis
This period of our lives is a one bursting with challenging events and life changing transitions, don t
you think? However testing this phase may be though, it s how we accept and counteract these
alterations that ultimately opens up a deeper understanding of our world and self. J.C. Burke s
thought provoking novel, The Story of Tom Brennan and John Marsden and Matt Ottley s
heartbreaking picture book Home and away , address this concept of transition and their challenges
associated as each protagonist undergoes a catastrophic journey surrounding a challenged attitude
and the need for maturity development.
This powerful characteristic that transitional phases possess have the potential to be a rewarding
experience, as they provide an individual with the opportunity for growth and knowledge
development through newfound relationships. In The Story of Tom Brennan , Tom exhibits this
through his bond with Chrissy following the dark trauma he endures caused by his brother Daniel.
Initially, Tom feels detached from his own identity as he refers to himself in third person I

relationship he forms with Chrissy is instrumental in his recovery as he begins to find himself
again. His passionate tone in Today I kissed Chrissy Tulake, I felt like Tom Brennan epitomizes
how this bond empowers him to assert a stronger sense of personal identity. Burke, therefore, is able

The Benefits of a Liberal Arts Education
The strength of a liberal arts education is the strong, varied foundation it provides over a wide
spectrum of subjects. A liberal arts education is aimed at teaching you how to think. It helps you
to develop strength of mind, and an ordered intellect. This broad based education allows students
to create new theories, discoveries, and connections between fields. With such expansive roots,
great innovators can build and expand from what others have learned, instead of wasting effort
on rediscovery of what is already known. With the knowledge of a subject s strengths and
capabilities, and weaknesses and restrictions, students can combine traits of different subjects to
formulate new and more complicated concepts. New colors can only come from mixing those
which already exist. The pigment of a new color depends on the shades and hues of the colors
used to create it. Such is true for education. The resulting ideas are a sterling product of the
compatibility of the subjects blended to create it. What vocational schools have in central focus,
they lose in direct focus. Enormous concentration in one area pigeon holes, severely limiting the
range of career opportunities. A liberal artseducation on the other hand, teaches one how to think,
and how to apply this to a variety of subjects. Both aspects have their strengths and their downfalls.
However, one can hardly say the liberal arts is useless and should be tossed aside in the modern
day. A better understanding of education comes

The Similarities And Differences Of Confucius And Sima Qian
One can infer from the two given sources that there are two main figures: Confucius, a Zhou
philosopher and Sima Qian, a Han Historian. Both of them had various depictions of the non
Chinese peoples in their respective eras. So, what are the points of comparison in which we can
uncover the similarities and differences of these depictions? The essay will seek to answer the
question by first discussing the different depictions of the non Chinese peoples by both Confucius
and Sima Qian based on the definition of the term non Chinese and the extent of threats, the attitude
towards the non Chinese peoples, their strengths, and the idea of assimilation. The similarities will
later be explored through the concept of archery and the concept of profit and individualism. Lastly,
the degree of difference will be discussed in the concluding paragraph.
Firstly, both sources depict non Chinese peoples as Barbarians . However, each source has a
different focus: a general definition or a specific one. This could be due to the different extent of
their threats in the Zhou and Han Dynasty. In the Analects of Confucius, Confucius briefly

The Importance Of Antibiotic Stewardship
Antibiotic Stewardship Antibiotics continue to be powerful weapons to fight infection, but
inappropriate use makes the treatment of microbial infections increasingly challenging. Successful
antibiotic stewardship can help mitigate the development of antimicrobial resistance and lead to
better outcomes (MLO, 2016). The first antibiotic introduced and produced in the United States was
penicillin in the 1940 s. From 1940 to 1960 more than 20 new classes of antibiotics were introduced,
and resistant strains developed within five years of each new class. Although the research for new
antibiotics has stalled, the use and distribution of antibiotics has increased (Smith, 2015). The Joint
Commission recently introduced a new Medicine Management standard to implement antibiotic
stewardship programs, stating that current scientific literature emphasizes the need to reduce the
use of inappropriate antimicrobials in all health care settings due to antimicrobial resistance (JCO,
2016). According to the World Health Organization (WHO): Antimicrobial resistance threatens the
effective prevention and treatment of an ever increasing range of infections caused by bacteria,
parasites, viruses and fungi and is an increasingly serious threat to global public health that requires
action across all government sectors and society (WHO, 2017). The Centers for Disease Control

The Dangers Of Genetic Engineering
Genetic engineering is known for it controversial issues such as playing God yet the media has been
keen on sugar coating the benefits on new genetic innovations. People have glossed over the
dangers that it is providing toward inequalities in society. Although Genetic engineering can benefit
to those in the lower class to an extent, the Government needs to limit the potential inequalities
genetic modification is doing toward society.
For those of you who don t know what genetic engineering is and how it works here is some
background information. There are several forms of genetic testing and we will focus on two,
molecular and chromosomal genetic tests, which test for genetic mutations likewise. Molecular
genetic tests allow doctors to see if the patient s DNA has a mutation that can lead to a genetic
disease such as Tay Sachs caused by the body s inability by DNA mutation. Chromosomal tests
allow doctors to look at the chromosomes to determine if there is a mutation such as an extra
chromosome that will lead to genetic diseases like Down Syndrome caused by containing an extra
chromosome. Through In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF), we have been able to know ... Show more

The Effects Of Soil Ph Soil Moisture, Organic Horizon...
In this experiment we tested the effects of soil pH, soil moisture, organic horizon thickness, and
slope of the hill, on the species dominance of specific trees along a hill in Charlottesville, Virginia, a
city within the Appalachian mountain range. There were 5 transects, distinguished by pink tape,
that started at the North end of the Hill and progressed down, then up the south side of the hill. Our
data was then reflected upon F.E. Clements organismic approach, And Ramensky and Gleason s
individualistic approach. The patterns between each variable and the survivability of the trees there,
allow us to understand the species variation and each species dominance at the site. We
hypothesized that the variations in community ecology would influence other variables, and the tree
species surviving in that space. However, we found that the p values for each variable we tested
against each other, moisture vs. pH, moisture vs. organic horizon, and pH vs. organic horizon, were
not significant values, rejecting our null hypothesis. These findings at Ohill show the influence
each variable has on the tree relative frequency and basal area. Understanding the various
environmental conditions that affect our forests is doubtfully one of the most important factors in
the survivorship of our forests ecosystems as they cover 30% of the land area on earth (Sandrine

The Effects Of Brain Trauma On The Brain
Brain trauma occurs when an external force causes injury to the brain. It s classified in a variety of
different classes based on the severity of the injury, mechanisms: closed or penetrating head injury,

the brain, physical capabilities, mental fortitude, personality, and behavior. In addition to the

Intelligence, Why It Can Matter More Than IQ, By Dr....
Introduction
Life happens and people move on with their lives based on the decisions they make. Sometimes
the decisions we make may not be the most adequate for our lives, but nonetheless we have to
make those decisions in order to move on from one phase to another as we try to live our lives. It
is said that people make decisions in two different ways, some people make their decision based
solely on the facts and being objective, but there is also the group that makes their decision based
on their emotions. Making decisions that will affect our life forever it takes some sort of type of
intelligence. Many people are familiar with the Intelligence Quotient (IQ), a tool that measures a
person s intelligence based on a series of tests (IQ, 2016), but and very few may have heard of
Emotional Quotient (EQ) (also referred to as Emotional Intelligence or EI) even existed. Emotional
intelligence is becoming more and more important nowadays than when it was first introduced
by Dr. Daniel Goleman in 1995 in the bestseller book Emotional Intelligence, Why It Can Matter
More Than IQ (as cited in Freedman, 2005). Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive
people s feelings and to read body language which is useful for individuals as well as supervisors
because then they can be more empathetic in understanding other people s feelings and the way
people respond based on the environment they find themselves in. It is important to be familiar and

this modernistic convention would most certainly be the newfound relation between, capitalism and
globalization and their effects on economic and political power. However some countries succeeded
in their endeavour of international trade, while others did not. Europeans constructed and
maintained their trade and territorial empires, whether through conquest, centralizing authority,
religious conversion, commercial monopolies, or through conflict with other Europeans. Economics
seems to be the most significant factor in the production line of human progress. There has been no
event in history that did not involve an aspect of economy. The basis of commerce in the Age of
Exploration, led to growth of international trade that would eventually lead to the Industrial
revolution. This foundation is heavily reliant on European powers enforcing economic trade around
merchant capitalism and the existing monarchy monopolism ideologies.Trade within Europe would
continue to facilitate economic growth

Shortest Life Expectancy
There are several factors that effect a person s life expectancy and where you live could put you
more at risk. One factor is physical environment. Some people are more likely than others to be
exposed to the potentially harmful effects of physical, chemical, and biological agents. Another
factor is social environment, which can effect a person depending on whether or not their
environment is more stressful than others. Differential susceptibility is another factor meaning that
physical appearance or height could gain you more benefits over a shorter person who is less
attractive. A very important factor is individual lifestyle. This includes a person s diet and physical
activity and research shows that those who live in a safe neighborhood get more exercise than those
who live in an unsafe neighborhood. Lastly, differential access to/response to healthcare services....

number 24 overall. Some similar factors that were examined was the individual lifestyle being that
obesity increased 19% in the past three years. Another factor was differential access to health care
services. They experienced a low percentage of healthcare associated infection reporting policies,
high prevalence of obesity, and had a high geriatrician shortfall.
Click on the states with the longest and shortest life expectancy and compare and contrast their
overall health participation. What factors do you identify as being most related to life expectancy?

5 Weird Facts about Resident Evil and Milla Jovovich
One of the most popular video game franchises of all time is Resident Evil. Not only this but there
have also been movies in the past, and all of them feature Milla Jovovich as the main character.
Just like anything else, this franchise also has some very weird facts behind it.
WEIRD FACT 1
The most interesting fact about Resident Evil is, the fact that that is not its real name. Instead, its
real name is actually BioHazard. Unfortunately, when the company was trying to release this name
they were receive copyright issues. It was then that the company held a contest to change the game
s name, and Resident Evil won.

Persuasive Barn Business Plan
The floor plan for the barn is fully based on safety. The purpose for having only one open
hallways is to allow clear sight all the way through. For example, if a child is on the opposite
side of the barn, it doesn t matter where an adult is standing, because they will be able to see that
the child is safe. The barn will hold 10 to 12 horses. A child is about 1/3 of that height. For this
reason it wouldn t be safe to have several curves and turns that can block the view of a child with
a horse. The barn is divided into two areas. The first being the area for the volunteers and the
children or guests. This area includes the office, restrooms, storage, tack room, seating, and
lockers. The second area is made up of only stables and grooming rooms. The reason for the
separation is because the areas for the horses will be expected to be a bit messy and it wouldn t be
enjoyable to have an office or group seating right next to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hall and sides are 12 feet wide. This allows sufficient space for a horse and a holder to walk
comfortably through the hall. The 12 feet wide areas create a 12 by 12 stall that allows the
horse to turn a full circle and lay down if needed. The walls surrounding the stall will be half
covered with bars, allowing visibility for the kids. It will also create a more open space, rather
than a jail cell style. The stalls will also have 2 exits for the horse. The main one being on the
inside that will be a full opening. The door inside allows the trainer to direct the horse from their
stall to the tacking room without having to go through the outside. The second door will be on the
exterior. This will be a Dutch door. On the days with good weather, the trainers can open the top
half of the Dutch door, not only letting the breeze enter but also allowing the horse to place its head
through the opening. This gives the kids a chance to see and interact with the horses as they walk
through the outside of the

Tax Policy Persuasive Essay
As we approach election day, both front runners; Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have
proposed their policies if they were to take office. Hillary Clinton is advocating to increase tax on
the top one percent, while Donald Trump wishes to cut tax (especially for the wealthy and middle
class). Trumps policy mirrors the trickle down system; where we cut taxon the rich, leaving them
with more money in which we assume they will invest. Yet, we have seen this to be a failure
since the rich do not invest their money, rather, they save it. Trump s proposal is more of a tax
relief when compared to Secretary Clinton s plan, however, Trump s proposal could cause more
problems to rise.
Next, both front runners must find funding to implicate their policies. Hillary Clinton s policies
will cost about $1.8 trillion, however, her offsets match up to the price. Despite Clinton s
dedication to pay for her policies, she is not healing the U.S. debt. Debt held by the public would
rise from 74% GDP to 86% GDP by 2026. GDP affects everyone; from businesses, to average
citizens within the economy. Gross domestic production represents the dollar value of goods and ...

Trumps tax policy is flawed, which is why we must tweak it so that tax is only cut on the middle
class. The basis of a strong economy is founded among a strong middle class. This would increase
consumer spending (since the middle class spend the most), stimulating the U.S. economy (and
businesses). We should stray away from Trump s immigration policy getting rid of anyone
undocumented in the U.S. since it dilutes consumer spending (immigrants contribute $12 billion to
the economy). A successful business always sets priorities that must be done. To maintain a healthy
economy, business growth, and consumer spending, we must first tackle the largest problem we
have. We must heal tax, debt, and war prior to fixing the smaller issues such as

Apollo 13 Analysis
The movie that I have selected is Apollo 13 directed by Ron Howard. The movie was filmed in
1995 and the lead roles were played by Tom Hanks as Jim Lovell, Bill Paxton as Fred Haise, Kevin
Bacon as Jack Swigert, Gary Sinise as Kevin Mattingly, and Ed Harris as Gene Kranz. It was
written by William Broyles, Jr. and Al Reinert. The movie was all in color, it does not have a
sequel to it, and it is 140 minutes. I watched it December 11, 2014 at my house. Jim Lovell, Fred
Haise, and Jack Swigert are assigned to the mission Apollo 13. Their target was the Fra Mauro

Racism In Alabama
The Quad is filled with screams from University of Alabama students. But it is not Saturday. It is
Thursday, November eighteenth. And these are not screams of joy, but rather built up cries for
change.
At the steps of Amelia Gorgas library, students chanted, What do we want? Justice! When do we
want it? Now! and, No justice, no peace! Oppression must cease! (Privitera) Walking past the
protestors, I watch them yell in a state of confusion. First Missouri, now here. This is not really
happening here too.
A group of both students and faculty calling itself We Are Done, stood on the steps of Gorgas and
protested racism and discrimination at the University of Alabama. They made a total of eleven
demands. Some of their demands include an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

While these members were dismissed from the organization, the issue of race within traditionally
white environments still flourishes.

Cases of Government Interference in A CitizenВґs Free...
The Supreme Court has interpreted the free exercise clause in many different ways. Today, people
in the United States have the absolute freedom to believe what they choose but they may have to
yield to the government in their religious conduct. In most instances, the government will not
interfere with an adult s practices as long as a minor is not in danger. The Supreme Court has
deemed though, that if these practices endanger a minor, the minor cannot participate. Such cases
include the right an adult as to refuse life saving treatment cannot be applied to a minor. The
government s interest in saving a child s life outweighs the freedom of religious practice. Another
case in which the government may interfere with religious conduct is if the purpose of the law was
not made to prevent the practice but merely occurred incidentally. This has occurred in Oregon,
when the government banned peyote, a hallucinogenic drug used by Native Americans. The
Supreme Court deemed that the law was meant to protect people from the powerful drug and it was
not intended to infringe on the Native American practice. The last situation in which a government
can interfere with religious conduct is if the act is a danger to public safety. As mentioned before, a
case, Employment Division, Department of Human Resources of Oregon v. Smith, came before the
Supreme Court regarding the Native American use of peyote in religious ceremonies. Oregon has a
law banning the use of controlled substances

Hurricane Devastation Of Hurricane Katrina
Hurricane Katrina Scandal
Without doubt, Hurricane Katrina has been the major catastrophe of the century suffered in the
United States. The category 5 hurricane which at first was on course to hit Florida drifted into the
Gulf of Mexico taking a direct route to New Orleans. On his way, the hurricane left hundreds of
dead, affected hundreds of thousands and left billions of dollars in damage. The largest number of
deaths occurred in New Orleans where the hurricane hit the hardest and which was flooded because
its levee system failed, collapsing many of them several hours after the hurricane had continued
inland. Environmental damage and serious threats to public health were among the other results of
Hurricane Katrina. Given the magnitude ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The environmental, social and economic chaos opened the way to abnormal conditions in the
deviance of the funds. In these cases there are always people who want to take advantage of the
situation, part of society responded generously while others reacted with greedy. The problem of
the missing funds was a crime because it violated not only the state but also federal laws regarding
the use of false documentation to receive funds. Hurricane Katrina caused the activity of the
opportunists. As is common, disasters bring out the worst and the best of any individual in our
society.
As a result of fraud and as a result of the investigations many people ended up arrested. These
people were charged for breaking the law by taking funds illicitly from the Red Cross which were
destined to victims of Hurricane Katrina. In a way the punishment was appropriate, but at the
same time, the squandered money that these people never made it to the hands of the people who
really needed it. The ideal would have been to have these individuals give back what was given to
them through a good will deed and then serve a sentence for the bad action.
It is irritable to learn that there are always people who take advantage of very difficult situations,
in this case from the hurricane disaster in New Orleans. Society often is affected by many negative
decisions human beings make. Logically, a disaster

My Experience In Community College
It never crossed my mind that both my academic life and the privilege to attend USC would ever
be in jeopardy. At first, I believed that my transition from a community college into a 4 year
institution would essentially be a walk at the park. Unfortunately, to my dismay, I was wrong. I
underestimated the level of work and effort that was required out of me from this university in
order to be successful. Instead, I overestimated my abilities and trusted my poor sense of
judgement. This mentality consequently stunted my potential to perform at my very best
which led to my downfall. As a result, I found myself in a very peculiar situation that I had never
been in before nor ever experienced. I found myself at the brink of academic disqualification and
on the verge of having my dreams disappear right before my eyes. Once I realized that I had
basically lied to myself on how to properly handle my academics and new life at USC was when
my troubles began to manifest themselves. One of the main reasons my work fell below
acceptable standards was due to my extreme lack of confidence. This all began when I started to
not comprehend the material that was being presented to me in my classes. Everything was
moving too fast and I couldn t keep up. Unlike the community college courses that I had taken the
year before which were on average longer than an hour, allowed me take my time understanding the
material. But here at USC I was exposed to 50 minute long lectures that where too short

Chemical warfare has been around for a very long time, since 4000 BC when the spartans
attacked the Athenians with long hay and sulfur in them to try to get the Athenians to come out,
that attack failed the coughing Athenians never did leave. No one used Chemicals for a long
time, though they were aware of them. Then a man named Fritz harbor saw power in them, he
was helping the german out by his fertilizer discovery but, he saw something else in the fertilizer.
He saw weapons of destruction so he made a fluorine bomb which will bring fiery tears to a
grown man s eyes . Fritz put fluorine in a canister then had soldiers use it against the Russians but,
the gas froze in the arctic tundra in Russia. He then moved to his brother Chlorine or Mustard gas.

Hitler did however use chemicals in concentration camps, in those he used Zyklon B. Zyklon B
was an interesting chemical because instead of gas it was pellets. After it mixes with the air it lets
out a bitter almond odor. The chemical then combines with red blood cells then suffocates you. It
also left a blue stain in the gas chambers which can still be seen to day if the gas chamber is in
tact. Zyklon was a very bad chemical that killed hundreds of thousands jews in the concentration
camps.
Chemical treaties after WWI where chemicals caused over 1 million casualties the geneva protocol
was signed to ban chemicals. Over the cold war over a fourth of the U.S. states were creating
chemical weapons. After WWII most chemical weapons were not used except in Iraq where they
used them on the Islamic republic of Iran. After the Genaval protocol the U.S. adopted the
chemical weapon convention or CWC to just reminds everyone what you can and can t use
specifically weapons of mass destruction in the battlefield. The first CWC was on january 13 1993

Similarities Between A Thousand Splendid Suns And...
THE FATALITY OF LOVE IS AN INNEVITABLE FACET TO HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS
Trauma and tragedy are inevitably regular and pervasive outcomes in romantic literature. Our
literary heritage is filled with heartbreak, failed relationships and broken individuals. Wuthering
Heights and Khaled Hosseini s A Thousand Splendid Suns both exhibit broken relationships,
through a backdrop of conflict in swar torn Afghanistan and the restrictions of Victorian social
hierarchy played out on the wild and windswept North York Moors destroying these implied
impervious bonds. 1. LACK OF CONTROL OVER MARRIAGES In both novels we experience
a high sense of the women lacking in control, one significant being the lack of control over their
marriages. The culture of set societal rules and conventions urges Catherine to be with Edgar,
compelling her to be the greatest woman of the neighbourhood due to them being relatively firm
in their gentry s status. This suggests the importance of her social status against the nature of her
love for Heathcliff stating, we would be beggars , through employing the word beggars the reader
crafts the idea of her belief that she won t survive without her status. Catherine admits It would
degrade me to marry Heathcliff now; so he shall never know how I love him Thus implying a
swelling sense of her vanity and pride; enough to enjoy the position she gains from being married
to Edgar despite her admiration for Heathcliff, being more than (herself) than (she is) and

Freedom Of Choice In Walt Whitman s I Hear America Singing
Being in American isn t standing up for the pledge, not just taking a moment of silence, and not
just celebrating the 4th of July. Being an American means having freedom in choosing your own
path, opportunity in creating your own destiny, and a hard working mentality to achieve your
goals. Since the beginning of the establishment of the United State; people have wanted the
freedom of choice. Immigrants long for it, and Americans have the ability to carry it out. We
first see freedom of choice in I Hear America Singing by Walt Whitman. The poem sates, The
shoemaker singing as he sits in his bench, the hatter singing as he stands, the woodcutter s song
(12). The following excerpt displays the freedom of choice in the lower class, or the blue collar
jobs. They might not have the ideal job that everyone wants, but the great thing about America is
that you are free to choose whatever job you want. Secondly we see this idea of freedom of choice

displays that despite her current predicament she is willing to do whatever it takes to have a better
life for herself; she inherits a hard working mentality just like an American has. Next example of
hard working mentality in Americans is in the poem I, Too Sing America by Langston Hughes. In
the poem Langston Hughes writes, Tomorrow, I ll be at the table when company comes (3). This
shows that he s not satisfied with his current situation and despite his predicament he still wants
better for himself and doesn t stop his admirations. This is what it means to be an American; having

Social Motire In Aldous Huxley s Brave New World
Brave New World Community, identity, stability the formula to a perfect society conforming to the
book Brave New World. Aldous Huxley utilizes satire to reveal an arriving downfall in society ,
where humans are no longer part of society ,but machines to society itself. Huxley creates a mass
production machine driven world through uses of topics as the advancement of science , moral
and cultural decay, relationships and even religion. Huxley carries no weight as his
representation of the future is a deranged mess. The disconnection between humans has elevated
higher than ever , and our culture is slowly decaying. What are you giving them ? asked
Mr.Foster, making his tone very professional oh the usual typhoid and sleeping sickness. while
in the 1930s and today s society this would be considered demented and insane Huxley shows
just how much our society is not caring anymore. They re giving people typhoid and sleeping
sickness as if it s nothing at all, Huxley says oh the usual... as if it does not matter to him at
all. When does it get to the point where lives are treated so careless. You can steadily see our
society decaying as everyone does not love one another today. Racial violence , people fighting
because of one bumped the other , we are slowly dying as a society altogether. People are just
meat , another thing that can be bred and replaced easily. This reoccurring theme of people being
treated so carelessly is a flawed mentality. Huxley shows his

Stereotypes Of Generation Z
When hearing the term generation Z lots of different thoughts and stereotypes probably come to
mind. People born in the years of 1995 to 2010 just missed the age where technology took over
childhood, yet still made it to remember few historical events such as 9/11. Since the technology
boom, Gen Z humans have many more resources than ever before. With the whole world ahead of
them, they can go on to accomplish many things as long as they get passed the negative
stereotypes. Generation Zhas been labeled lazy, impatient, and entrepreneurial. Although most of the
stereotypes are negative, there is some positive in this generation.
One of the many stereotypes Generation Z is referred as is lazy . In an article posted by The
Huffington Post, it is stated that Gen Z is often portrayed as less engaged in politics; they have
short attention spans and don t care about the weighty issues that confront their generation and the
nation; and they re more interested in technology and celebrity than staying active in their
communities and schools. (Micoleta) Because this generation grew up with google at the touch of
their fingers and with smartphones and other hand held devices, they can search anything at any
given time without even moving. Although some might consider this lazy, others might argue that
it is resourceful. I agree with this lazy stereotype because I have seen first hand how it has affected
society. Online shopping has taken a huge hit; people can order anything from

Authority
Authority is the power an organization gives to a supervisor to do something or to get something
done. There are two types of authority: formal and informal. Formal authority comes with the
position a person holds in the organization. Informal authority, also referred to as personal authority,
is the power you have because of your abilities and personal traits. In my opinion, authority is
means want to control something in your hand. Formal authority means use law or rules to control
the store or public place. Informal authority means you want to control something by yourself,
nobody help you.

Texas Water Management Texas 12th District Water Management Water rights is a very interesting topic that may have no right answer, but Texas has tried to answer as many questions as possible about who owns what water. In the case of groundwater, Texas has historically given the right to pump the groundwater to the individual person that owns the land, however, this person does not own the groundwater. The landowner may pump as much water as they want even if it completely drains neighboring peoples water sources, the water can also be sold to other entities. All major surface water is claimed by the Texasgovernment, with an exemption for domestic use and livestock. Ownership of water in rivers and streams are given to the landowner if the waterbed cannot be navigated,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Red River Compact Commission was created and signed by 1978 by 4 states Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. The Red River, the northern boundary of a lot of the state, is a major water source for all four of these states and was being fought over until this commission was made to help solve many of the disputes that could come up. Similarly, Texas has more agreements with other states including the Sabine River Compact Commission and the Rio Grande Compact. These commission serves the same purpose as the other commission, to make sure that all states receive the correct amount of water and that neither state ruins the water for any other one. The United States has an agreement with Mexico regarding the Colorado River that helps decide what should be done with a river that gives water to more than 33 million people across the two nations. The agreement is made to help the Colorado River make it back to the Ocean which will in turn help refill Lake Mead, the main source of water for the city of Los Vegas. The major treaty between the US and Mexico that Texas has a large hand in is the Treaty of February 3, 1994. This treaty restricts the water that the other country can take from the Rio Grande river, and guarantees the US one third of the water from 5 tributaries in Mexico, and guarantees Mexico all of the water from two other tributaries. This treaty also allows both nations to dam parts of this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My Experience With The Hip Hop Culture PART ONE A When reflecting on my experiences and knowledge of popular culture, I arrived with a number of remarkable questions and concerns: Why do I care so much about the lives of celebrities? How influential or brainwashing has popular culture been a factor in my lifestyle? Is it a good or bad influence? Does popular culture have an effect on my self esteem? Has popular culture prematurely exposed me to social vices? (Sex? Drugs? Violence?) Why do I identify with the hip hop culture? What is the message that I am given when listening to hip hop music? What does my taste in music say about me? Am I defined by society due to popular culture stereotypes? Is my judgment or perception on beauty along with different races, gender, and sexualities skewed by popular culture standards and stereotypes? What benefit or significance do I receive from consuming popular culture news? Does popular culture offer me any more than just material to fill my time with frivolous talk and gossip? How much time am I consuming because of popular culture? Why do I feel out the loop if I m not immersed in the latest trends? How am I empowered of my knowledge about popular culture news? Virgin s music, retail, and vision business was brought together to form the Virgin Groupand 35% of its equity was listed. Branson was not happy with this new arrangement because of the control that shareholders would hold on direction and this was not in keeping with his nonconformist style and also that he felt that his organization was misunderstood and undervalued by so called experts. The organization culture at Virgin was also at risk in this new arrangement and he seized the opportunity presented by the 1987 stock market crash to buy out external shareholders. Back in private hands Virgin continued to grow using funds realized from Virgin Atlantic and loans to seek out new market around the globe with the Virgin megastore in such diverse countries like United States, Netherlands, Japan, Spain and Australia using joint venture strategy with Blockbuster Corporation. Essay on Diagnostic Medical Sonography Amelie Landry Professor Evans English 102 2WA 20 March 2012 Diagnostic Imaging: A Sound Career in Sonography One of the main reasons for choosing a healthcare career in todays society, aside from the basic need for a self sustaining income, is the opportunity to make differences in peoples lives. With the demand for healthcare professionals and alternative medicines on the rise, so is the need for adequately educated trained personnel. Diagnostic Medical Sonography is becoming an increasingly attractive alternative to radiologic procedures such as x ray and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Accounting for approximately 50,300 jobs in the United States in 2008, compared to the 214,000 jobs held by radiologic technicians, according to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Detailed oriented individuals with biological science and mathematic backgrounds contribute to the field of sonography. The increasing demand for diagnostic imaging and therapeutic technology promises an exceptional outlook for sonographers. The majority of diagnostic medical sonographers are employed by hospitals, but accessibility to low cost portable ultrasound equipment has led to a growing number of career opportunities at clinics and diagnostic centers (Rising Demand for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers). They now have access to portable units as small as laptop computers making commuting from hospital bedsides to clinical practices easier. Since some sonographers make their own schedules through contracts with clinics, these portable units make traveling much more convenient. Less means more in terms of health risks. Unlike some imaging methods, sonography doesn t involve radiation, harmful side effects, nor complications from repeated exposure for both patient and sonographer. Although, due to repetitive movements they are unfortunately prone to musculoskeletal pains. The purpose of this paper is to describe the usage of Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) header for Network Virtualization (NVGRE) in multi tenant data centers. Several issues with traditional data center designs such as static workloads, limitations on dynamic allocation of server and network, oversubscribed network when using RSTP to avoid loops, 4K subnet limit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Traditional Data Centers have obsolete design catering to static workloads, fragmented networks and server capacity limiting the dynamic allocation and consolidation of capacity. Most Layer 2 networks use rapid spanning tree protocol to eliminate possible loops by blocking redundant paths, but it results in wasted capacity and oversubscribed network. Network fragmentation and VLANs are used for traffic management, security, performance and broadcast isolation among services belonging to different clients or tenants. For forwarding VLAN tagged packets, each layer 2 device needs to be configured and each layer 3 subnet needs to be mapped to one VLAN. In the data center infrastructure which is shared by multiple tenants, the 4000 VLAN limit is no longer acceptable. Also migrating workloads require network to be re configured which can consume resources and be error prone. To respond to dynamic workloads and demands, network administrators and operators must be to achieve high utilization of server and network capacity, be able to assign workloads operating in single layer 2 network to any server in any rack in the network, be able to move workloads without re configuring the network. This is achieved by decoupling the workload s location from its network address. Therefore, key design objectives for the modern data centers are: Location independent addressing Scalable number of Layer2/layer 3 networks regardless of number of VLANS or underlying physical ... This hating on atheists continued for some time until the man finally said that Easter was important because while these people like Thomas Jefferson were non believers a lot of their accomplishments revolved around ideas that originated from Jesus, and then gave examples of the constitution that were referenced from the new testament and claimed that Easter was important because the death and rebirth of Jesus shaped the way our society was, and claimed that that s why America only has had on constitution because it was based on Jesus. And while I found that to be a little farfetched I admired the way that the pastor was able to turn something that was negative for these people, as they were all upset, into something positive for them that reinstated their beliefs. Then after this part of the sermon hey had a message from god s word quoted from 1 Peter 1:3 5 and everyone stood up and said it with pride. After during the congregational response the pastor said something that I really admired. • 9. Women s National Soccer Team From a young age, children are conditioned to always think about what they want to be when they grow up. Many of them dream to be a ballerina, firefighter, or an astronaut. With age comes maturity, and those aspirations pass, but simultaneously new, more realistic ones arise. To reach these new goals, these children work toward their dream through dedication, which can be seen in the studying or training they do. In today s society females have more opportunity to do what they dream. There are young women who are assiduously working to get a college degree and a steady job. Then, there are also women who are training to become a professional athlete, with the aspiration of becoming a member of the United StatesWomen s National Soccer Team (USWNT). In today s society, women can pursue their goals, however, if compared to men s sports, there can be differences seen that keep women from reaching full potential, equality, and their dreams. An evident and popular difference is the wage gap between men and women, especially after five members of the USWNT, filed a suit with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commision about a violation of the Equal Pay Act. Carli Lloyd, Alex Morgan, Hope Solo, Becky Sauerbrunn, and Megan Rapinoe, later followed by Christian Press and Morgan Brian, have created a social movement to end what they call gender discrimination. • 10. Controversial And Provocative Art Controversial and provocative art has been around for a long time. Artists realize that no matter how the artwork is being portrayed, someone will somehow be offended by your work. But we still create artworks that supposedly offend a number of audiences. To deal with offensive images is often a ritual of theatrical excess. But as these images offend some, there are people who do not get offended by the same image. Iconophobia syndrome is a fear and anxiety of images. Blaming of images and mass media for our bad behavior, moral decay and the outbreak of violence. It is then that people often create rules or laws that decide what to censor and what not to censor. People also do use the law as an excuse and as an argument to why an image should be considered controversial or provocative. It is convenient for people to use the law as an excuse to take down an artwork that offends a handful. Controversial and provocative art are mostly art that is context based as art that is made with that in mind are expressed by the artist in regards to events that are happening or have had happened. The book compares him to Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the fact that people of his party love him, while people who oppose him are unapproving of much of what Regan did in office. Regan has become famous for taking the status quo and changing what people have come to understand regarding the Republican party. Regan was a Republican; however, he was not a conservative Republican. He believed that he could sway Democrats to his ideology on some aspects. Regan was a people s president in some respects. He kept his speeches short and to the point, and used jokes to communicate with people. There is a reason he has become known as the Great Communicator If I had a critique of this book it would simply be that I would have liked to have seen a little more information on some presidents; however I also understand that it is difficult to describe every factor of each president without having a 5000 page book. Overall though, I would give this book an 8/10 rating. It was informative without being boring, and entertaining without being fictional. The book has a lot to be desired for those who are new to studying presidents. The movement would question almost every aspect of social and political life in Europe (Hunt, 522). The writers and scholars that had enlightened views were those who believed that all people are able to apply reason or critical thinking to all issues that may arise in their lives. The value of a bachelor s degree has dropped significantly over the years. We will look into why the value of the degree has depreciated over the years. For starters, someone with a Bachelors degree could have expected to receive top priority when being considered for a job position. Ignatius and Cyprian both treat church unity as a gift from the Holy Spirit to be preserved, and also claim that this unity is dependent on perseverance in faith, unified participation in the sacraments, and respecting the integrity of apostolic succession. Without unification of and among these three elements, both Ignatius and Cyprian resolve that true unity, and thus salvation, is unattainable. To begin, it is worth looking at the language with which both Ignatius and Cyprian speak of unity. In both Ignatius letters, and Cyprians The Unity of the Catholic Church (The Unity), the writers paint beautiful, glorious pictures of a unified Church while also speaking sternly of its importance. In his letter to the Ephesians Ignatius says, Yes, one and all, you should form yourselves into a choir, so that, in perfect harmony and taking your pitch from God, you may sing in unison and with one voice to the Father through Jesus Christ...Therefore you need to abide in irreproachable unity if you really want to be God s members forever (Ephesians 4). That s why it was one of the biggest and best arenas in ancient Rome. It could seat 250,000 spectators, and had 300,000 seats. It was HUGE, 2037 feet in length and 387 feet in width. It had a circumference of a mile. It was situated between 2 hills, the Aventine and Palatine hills, and when it started, spectators watched from there. It had its share of blood and difficulties, but it can t be denied that Circus Maximus was awe inspiring. The Circus Maximus was one of the best constructed buildings in ancient Rome, able to withstand a lot! After burning down twice, It was reconstructed using concrete and marble, making it stronger and more beautiful than ever (romeguide.it). It was originally made entirely of wood, making it easier for it to catch fire or collapse, as it also did twice (romeguide.it). There was a separate imperial box for the Emperor and the royal family, making it a more popular place with important persons and the Emperor himself (tribunesandtriumphs.org). • 19. Explain The Euthyphro Dilemma The Euthyphro dilemma is the question if Gods commands are moral because they are inherently good or because the commands are divinely commanded and are moral. (Cook 99) If people are following the commands of religion without the internal reflection of its rationality as it pertains to ethical and moral justice, then one could perform acts that defy rational morality because of their faith. (Cook 99) On the other side, one that rejects religious faith and goes fully off their own moral compass has the problem of that there is no baseline for them to align their moral compass. For example, on a ship, there are multiple compasses that can each check against each other to determine error and accuracy for corrections. When there is a single compass if it goes off course then the ship will also become off course. • 20. Reflection Paper On Swimming Attentiveness is a key value the team holds. Everyone needs to be there and ready to go by the start of practice. If someone is late they get talked to by one of the coaches which is one of their sanctions they practice. Being attentive is a good lesson swimmers learn that gets them ready for having a job after college. At morning practice, it is kind of astonishing to see the swimmers being unexpectedly energetic, especially at 5:40 AM. Before jumping into the pool, I noticed a lot of the swimmers were doing some sort of dance. They were swinging their arms, jumping up and down, stretching, etc. I think They are doing some dynamic warm ups they go through before entering into the pool. They do this to get them loose and ready to swim. It almost as if it is a ritual they do before every practice or before every event at a meet. It like how Michael Phelps flops his arms around behind the blocks before racing. Swimmers are a unique subculture as well. I feel as if they are pretty open minded and generally nice people. There are a few characteristic that set swimmers apart from the normal culture. Most of them have big shoulders which makes sense because they use them every day in the water. Some off these steps aren t full required, but are highly recommended. The items required for a competition squat are a 100% polyester powerlifting suit, flat bottom tenny shoes, 100% cotton tighty whities, and long ankle socks. The first step in preparing for a competition squat is putting on the suit. The US high school powerliftingassociation requires all lifters of both genders to wear tight and white underwear or go coverless. Most lifters prefer to go coverless for more comfort. A powerlifting suit should be as tight as possible for maximum support. Now it s time for socks and shoes. Your socks must be 100% cotton and white or the judges won t let you lift. Your shoes must be flat bottom because any shoe with a long heel can lead to major ankle and knee injuries. Next is the dreaded warm up. The warm up is a crucial part of powerlifting. Hypoxyphilia is a fairly common practice where a person chooses to enhance their sexual arousal by voluntarily depriving himself or herself of oxygen. In order to become deprived of oxygen, people usually use plastic bags, rope, or their partner s hands to choke their partner once consent is given. This practice is dangerous and can possibly even result in a tragic death (Rathus, Nevid, Fichner Rathus, p545 546). Masochism s counterpart, sadism, is the complete opposite for many reasons. Sadism is a parphilia, which is characterized by the association of sexual satisfaction with the infliction of pain or humiliation onto others. The term sadism refers to a French author and philosopher, Marquis de Sade (1740 1814). Marquis de Sade wrote stories of people who became sexually aroused by inflicting pain or humiliation on others. Some of his best known works are Justine (published in 1791) and Juliette (published in 1797). A sadist receives sexual gratification by role playing. They usually play the authority figure who inflicts pain, humiliates, disciplines, and plays master to another person (Ernulf Innala, p637). Most sadists hurt and humiliate willing partners who are usually masochists. A small minority of sadists may even attempt to stalk and attack their unwilling victims. A liberal arts education is aimed at teaching you how to think. It helps you to develop strength of mind, and an ordered intellect. This broad based education allows students to create new theories, discoveries, and connections between fields. With such expansive roots, great innovators can build and expand from what others have learned, instead of wasting effort on rediscovery of what is already known. With the knowledge of a subject s strengths and capabilities, and weaknesses and restrictions, students can combine traits of different subjects to formulate new and more complicated concepts. New colors can only come from mixing those which already exist. The pigment of a new color depends on the shades and hues of the colors used to create it. Such is true for education. The resulting ideas are a sterling product of the compatibility of the subjects blended to create it. What vocational schools have in central focus, they lose in direct focus. Enormous concentration in one area pigeon holes, severely limiting the range of career opportunities. A liberal artseducation on the other hand, teaches one how to think, and how to apply this to a variety of subjects. Both aspects have their strengths and their downfalls. The Importance Of Antibiotic Stewardship Antibiotic Stewardship Antibiotics continue to be powerful weapons to fight infection, but inappropriate use makes the treatment of microbial infections increasingly challenging. Successful antibiotic stewardship can help mitigate the development of antimicrobial resistance and lead to better outcomes (MLO, 2016). The first antibiotic introduced and produced in the United States was penicillin in the 1940 s. From 1940 to 1960 more than 20 new classes of antibiotics were introduced, and resistant strains developed within five years of each new class. • 39. Intelligence, Why It Can Matter More Than IQ, By Dr.... Introduction Life happens and people move on with their lives based on the decisions they make. Sometimes the decisions we make may not be the most adequate for our lives, but nonetheless we have to make those decisions in order to move on from one phase to another as we try to live our lives. It is said that people make decisions in two different ways, some people make their decision based solely on the facts and being objective, but there is also the group that makes their decision based on their emotions. Making decisions that will affect our life forever it takes some sort of type of intelligence. Many people are familiar with the Intelligence Quotient (IQ), a tool that measures a person s intelligence based on a series of tests (IQ, 2016), but and very few may have heard of Emotional Quotient (EQ) (also referred to as Emotional Intelligence or EI) even existed. Emotional intelligence is becoming more and more important nowadays than when it was first introduced by Dr. Daniel Goleman in 1995 in the bestseller book Emotional Intelligence, Why It Can Matter More Than IQ (as cited in Freedman, 2005). Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive people s feelings and to read body language which is useful for individuals as well as supervisors because then they can be more empathetic in understanding other people s feelings and the way people respond based on the environment they find themselves in. It is important to be familiar and become aware of EI by learning about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The power shift is prominent, shifting from the lords and nobles to the merchants of the middle class. The Age of Exploration has provided a framework for economic life around the world for several centuries while also shaping politics, social relations, cultures, and natural environments, changing the very nature of society. Of course the most important aspect of this modernistic convention would most certainly be the newfound relation between, capitalism and globalization and their effects on economic and political power. However some countries succeeded in their endeavour of international trade, while others did not. Europeans constructed and maintained their trade and territorial empires, whether through conquest, centralizing authority, religious conversion, commercial monopolies, or through conflict with other Europeans. Economics seems to be the most significant factor in the production line of human progress. There has been no event in history that did not involve an aspect of economy. The basis of commerce in the Age of Exploration, led to growth of international trade that would eventually lead to the Industrial revolution. This foundation is heavily reliant on European powers enforcing economic trade around merchant capitalism and the existing monarchy monopolism ideologies.Trade within Europe would continue to facilitate economic growth ... Hillary Clinton is advocating to increase tax on the top one percent, while Donald Trump wishes to cut tax (especially for the wealthy and middle class). Trumps policy mirrors the trickle down system; where we cut taxon the rich, leaving them with more money in which we assume they will invest. Yet, we have seen this to be a failure since the rich do not invest their money, rather, they save it. Trump s proposal is more of a tax relief when compared to Secretary Clinton s plan, however, Trump s proposal could cause more problems to rise. Next, both front runners must find funding to implicate their policies. Hillary Clinton s policies will cost about $1.8 trillion, however, her offsets match up to the price. Despite Clinton s dedication to pay for her policies, she is not healing the U.S. debt. Debt held by the public would rise from 74% GDP to 86% GDP by 2026. • 47. Cases of Government Interference in A CitizenВґs Free... The Supreme Court has interpreted the free exercise clause in many different ways. Today, people in the United States have the absolute freedom to believe what they choose but they may have to yield to the government in their religious conduct. In most instances, the government will not interfere with an adult s practices as long as a minor is not in danger. The Supreme Court has deemed though, that if these practices endanger a minor, the minor cannot participate. Such cases include the right an adult as to refuse life saving treatment cannot be applied to a minor. The government s interest in saving a child s life outweighs the freedom of religious practice. Another case in which the government may interfere with religious conduct is if the purpose of the law was not made to prevent the practice but merely occurred incidentally. This has occurred in Oregon, when the government banned peyote, a hallucinogenic drug used by Native Americans. Wuthering Heights and Khaled Hosseini s A Thousand Splendid Suns both exhibit broken relationships, through a backdrop of conflict in swar torn Afghanistan and the restrictions of Victorian social hierarchy played out on the wild and windswept North York Moors destroying these implied impervious bonds. 1.
