2. General Questions
From these questionnaires we discovered
that our target audience are mostly males
between the ages of 16-20 years old. The
people surveyed also mostly enjoy the
indie and rock genres of music. They are
most likely to watch music videos on
YouTube or on TV channels, they are also
more likely to illegally download music.
From these results we now have a better
understanding of our target audience and
how they access music and videos. We
can now cater for our audience more.
3. Audience QuestionsWhat is your favourite
genre of music?
Rock Indie Pop Hip Hop
What do you most
assosiate with a
indie music video?
Band Performance Dark Colours Close Ups
What kind of
narrative would
you expect to see
in an Indie music
video?
Band performance Abstract Dance Routine
Which genre are you most
likely to watch a music
video for?
Indie Rock Rock Rap
Overall, from out findings we have found
that a band performance is essential when
creating an indie music video as it shows
the bands talent to the viewer and makes
them aware that they are serious about
what they are producing. In addition to this,
we discovered that people are more likely
to watch an indie music video due to the
fact is can be shown in numerous ways
(abstract, narrative etc.). We found that
although band performance is the initial
narrate they expect from an indie music
video, abstract is close second- which we
assume is because this makes the content
a lot more subject and ambiguous-
intriguing the audience more.
4. Mise-en-scene questions
After conducting some questionnaires regarding the mise en scene of our video we have collected some results from our target audience
and what they'd expect from our video. We found that they'd expect our video to be mostly set on stage and in the city. They would expect
our band to be dressed in dark or edgy clothing, similarly our outgoing main female character is expected to be dressed quite alternatively
with bright colours. Finally, the the results showed that our audience would expect the "normie" to be filmed in black and white to
exaggerate how boring her life is.
