The author learned many new skills between their preliminary task and final magazine. For the preliminary task, they did not know how to use Photoshop or edit images, so they could not crop or add effects like drop shadows. They also did not know how to create faded gradients or change image colors. However, for the final magazine, the author learned to professionally edit images, match colors between elements, and use contrasting colors to draw attention. Additionally, the final images were more professionally staged and organized to attract readers compared to the simple shots used for the preliminary task.
