The document summarizes the development of a magazine contents page design. The designer included an editor's note, photos related to artists featured in the magazine, and a cover line to provide context. A competition was added to engage readers and be consistent with other magazines. The design was further refined by placing photos and cover lines together neatly, condensing the editor's note, and using the masthead and keywords in red to match the color scheme.
3. I further developed my magazines
contents page by involving an editors
note, as many magazines include them
in order to show the reader what will
be included. I also included another
gig photo to relate to the artists that
will be found inside and added a cover
line to add content. In addition to this
I included a ‘Interlude competition’ at
the bottom to relate to things that
would be found with other magazines
and my magazine research found that
my demographic would be quite
interested by this.
Furthermore, I experimented with
having a grey background to make the
content stand out against it and not be
so plain.
4. I developed this design by moving the
two photos next to each other and
inline with Elle on the other side to
look organised and neat. Then, I put
coverlines on top of the pictures to
show what they’re in relation to. I also
put a low more coverlines down the
left hand side of the page to look
more detailed. Moreover, I condensed
the editors note into the right hand
side to neatly fit in the column and not
take up too much room.
Then I put the competition in more
depth and used the masthead to relate
to the magazine and highlight the key
words ‘Beyonce’ and ’60’ in dark red
to match the colour scheme.
