4. WHY FOCUS FEATURES
SHOULD DISTRIBUTE ‘WALKING’
By researching the media products that have been distributed by Focus Features,
they have distributed and produced a wide range of films. A large majority of the
films that are distributed are from the genre of Drama. But as I have stated before-
Focus Features are broadening their choice of film to distribute to attract a wider
audience. Elements of a Drama genres conventions are within an Adventure genre-
but the adventure side of it may appeal to the younger imaginative audience.
Moreover- the main reason that Focus Features would distribute my film would be
because it would be produced by an independent film company. This is because
the film idea is unique- and the film would be produced for a reasonably low
budget due to the locations and filming techniques such as guerrilla filming.
