2. WHAT IS DISTRIBUTION?
 Distribution is the way something is shared among a
group of people or spread across an area.
 Distribution is a key process in film making as it allows
the target audience to watch the film and it advertises it
to the demographic audience.

3. FILM DISTRIBUTION
COMPANIES
 There are many well known film distributing companies,
including Dream Works, Universal and Warner Bros.
 The film distributor depends on the genre and audience
of the film for example Walt Disney distributes films that
are Child/family friendly with specific themes and
characters. They would not distribute horror films as
that is not suitable for their audience.

4.  A film distributor that would be suitable for our film
would be IFC Films as they distribute independent films
and they are the distributor of ‘The Human Centipede’
which is of a similar theme to our film.
 They have also worked with similar horror/thriller films
such as ‘The’ and ‘The abandoned’

5.  Our film should appeal to a wide range of audience
around the globe, not just in the UK. IFC Films is based
in New York therefore would distribute across North
America.
 Our film has characters and themes that are similar to
previous successful horror and thriller films that have
been popular mainly in westernized countries primarily
US and UK.

6. Marketing strategies, releasing
strategies and exhibition options.
 We would use social media and the internet as the main source of
releasing and advertising our film. Uploading the trailer to YouTube
to attract the audience and leave them wanting to watch more.
 We would also have the cast do promo by appearing on TV,
internet and radio interviews talking about their experience during
the production of the film. This would help to broaden the target
audience and promote our film.
 We would have accounts on all of the popular social media
websites such as instagram, twitter and facebook.

7. SELF DISTRIBUTION
 We would travel to film festivals across the UK to air
and promote our film. In hope that we would have many
buyers and gain profit from our film.
 This is also a good way to promote our film to our
audience, we could broaden and increase our overall
audience.
