independent film studios. New Line Cinema is one of the few film companies still
actively participating in the marketing and distribution of horror and thriller films such
as “Nightmare on Elm Street”, “The Conjuring” etc
I found this distribution company suitable for my film trailer as it has distributed
many successful movies within the same genre as my trailer, meaning this company
can achieve the same success for my trailer. Also, it is a great advantage for my
trailer to have this company distribute the trailer in terms of recognition, promotion
and publicity due to its many connections.

4. SCREEN
Screen Gems, similarly to New Line Cinema is an American film production company
and division company of Sony Pictures Entertainment's Columbia TriStar Motion
Picture Group. It was responsible for the distribution of films such as “Obsessed”
“Dear John” etc
This distribution company is a widely known distribution and production company and
although it distributes movies similar to my trailer, its suitability to distributing my movie
is questionable due to the fact that it distributes mostly movies in the romantic and
comedy genre however it is still a company that I won’t disregard as a potential
distributor for the trailer. It has garnered success and the company has built a
reputable name meaning that it will open my trailer to many opportunities and the
funds that will be used to support my trailer will be a generous amount of money,
allowing my trailer to be broadcasted to a mass of people.

5. UNIVERSAL
Universal Studios Inc, also known as Universal Pictures is responsible for some of
the highest grossing films to date. Movies such as Fast and Furious Six, The Bourne
Ultimatum, Jaws are amongst movies that they received accolades for.
They have distributed movies in the same genre as the trailer I am producing. I chose
this company mainly due to its success and fame. Having this company distribute my
trailer will indeed be an achievement and will ultimately make my trailer a success
because the amount of funding that will go into my trailer allowing my trailer to be a high
quality production and it will be distributed globally. A disadvantage of using such
distribution company is because they will only see my trailer as a way of gaining more
profit which means they might neglect any idea of meeting the needs of my target
audience .

6. MOMENTUM
Momentum Pictures (also known as Momentum) was one of the leading
independent motion picture distributors in the UK and Ireland and released
approximately 20 theatrical films a year, with several direct to video releases however in
2013, it was acquired by parent company, Entertainment One

Although it has been defunct since 2013, it was responsible for the distribution for the
highly acclaimed movie, The Kings Speech amongst many other movies such as Law
Abiding Citizen, P.S. I Love You etc. I found their company suitable in distributing my
movie because it is an independent company in the UK and Ireland which means British
fan base could be created here and although my movie might not essentially receive the
amount of funding and the worldwide recognition desired, my trailer will be still be
distributed amongst a mass of people. They also distribute several genres of movies.
