Mattingly "AI & Prompt Design: Named Entity Recognition"
Question 2 a2
1. How effective is the combination of
your main product and two ancillary
texts
Question 2
2. How do they work together?
• I believe that my music video and my album cover and poster
go well together as they all keep the same theme of expensive
cars, which happens to be a convention of the Rap genre. The
use of rotoscope can also be seen on both texts which links
them together
3. How do they work together?
• I believe that my three texts work effectively
together as they are all similar in the use of
the main character, props and locations. This
means that someone would be likely to link
them to each other if they were to be seen in
separately.
4. How do they represent the artist?
• In general, my three texts present the artist as
arrogant due to the use of of props such as
money that is being used as a fan or text on the
digipak such as “the last ex that I had was a
lighty.” this comes across arrogant as most people
would not be so open about their previous
relationships, especially in such a bragging
manner. My music video does this as well as the
actor can be seen with money attached to his hat
to reenact a sun visor. This is not necessarily a
good representation but is one not uncommon to
the rap genre.
5. How do they fit the rap genre?
• I believe my texts fit the rap genre as it follows most of the
themes and conventions of typical rap products. For example
the use of bank notes, expensive clothes, and brands such as:
Supreme, Nike and Addidas. Some artists, including Dave
himself commonly use animation in their album covers or
posters, here is one example
7. How does it look compared to real
texts?
• I believe that my product does not look out of
place alongside the real texts thanks to the
fact that I have used conventions such as the
artist being in the forefront of the picture and
the use of money. However to make my work
look more legitimate. I would next time use
darker shades as this seems to be a common
theme that I have missed.
