WHO WOULD BE THE AUDIENCE FOR YOUR
MEDIA PRODUCT?
WHO?
• Whilst creating our media product, we decided that the target market audience for it would
be between 12 and 24 year olds. This is due to several reasons such as violence, gore
and some mild language.
• We believe that the media product that we created would be aimed at people from the age
of 12 to 24, this is because due to the gore and violence that is in the product it would not
be suitable for viewers of a young age or under the age of 12. we also believe that the
product would be less popular with an audience over the age of 24 because although
there is gore and violence and mild language in the product it is less mild for them then
the 12 year olds, however this does not preclude the over 24 market from watching the
product, we just believe that the product maybe too immature for a person of that age.
• The media product is aimed at both genders as a target audience, this is because there is
not a specific theme in the product that would cause a stereotype or representation as to
who should watch it. However the product could be perceived by viewers at being aimed
at females due to the it being an female all cast.
WHY?
• People would watch our media product for enjoyment and for entertainment purposes and
for fun, but some people might watch our media product for other situations such as
inspiration or for educational purposes.
• Some people might watch our media product for education purposes in school, college or
university. They could be studying horror films at GCSE or A-Level or even for media and
they could have to analyse our media product, they could even have to make their own
horror film so they could watch ours for inspiration and ideas.
• Some people may watch our film for enjoyment or with their friends and family, especially
if they are teens watching our media product, they could be watching it with their friends
or maybe having a sleepover or maybe just watching it on their own. They may have
heard about our media product and were intrigued to find out more about it.
