This study analyzed the qualitative and quantitative aspects of phytoplankton in cultured ponds of two fish farms in Noakhali, Bangladesh, from September to November 2012. A total of 21 genera across four phytoplankton classes were identified, with significant variation in abundance, notably with euglenophyceae and chlorophyceae being prevalent. The findings highlight the importance of water quality in influencing phytoplankton dynamics and underscore the need for further research into the relationships between water quality and phytoplankton productivity in aquaculture systems.
