- 1. I used a horror gothic font for my masthead, which appeals to my target audience of Goth and rocker subcultures. In my questionnaire i found that many people like the ideas of posters and free downloads, so on my front cover i conveyed this buy showing 3 posters anchored by a banner with ‘Posters of 2011’. Also a bubble which offers free downloads. I used the words ‘the biggest Uk bands’ to entice more readers into the magazine. I also used 4 colours as past of my colour scheme, black and white were used mainly to catch the eyes of my stereotypical rock listeners, as black and white connote rock well. I used bright yellow and blue, to draw the attention of a younger generation as my magazine is aimed at 15 year old +. Also under my features i have listed many bands, that are very big and globally recognised at the moment. This is to draw in more of my target audience, as the bands fit into their stereotyped music liking. My main image, was of a band that is aged around 16-18, to mainly attract that aged readers into my magazine, ad also the idea that this band is a well known band through out the rock music industry so they would be recognised. They had long swept hair to cover on side of their face, as an image of what is known as a rock hair style nowadays . My target audience is from ages 15 upwards, and those who like to listen or watch rock music.

I have kept the same colour scheme through out, so that these colour may still attract my readers. Also i have brought the masthead back onto my contents, so the gothic horror font is still there to connote the rock star/gothic side to my magazine. I have used 2 images, that involve crowd participation so that the readers feel that my magazine also takes them into account. I have used a quote from a musician with one picture of a crowd, which is talking about them which interacts with my reader. The editorial is a quick addition, to show sophistication to the magazine. So the older generations who read my magazine aren't distorted by the younger features. Using words like ‘exclusive’ and leaving cliff hangers on features ‘Davey Jones got a new band?’ are ways of grabbing the readers attention, and keeping them reading for more.
- 3. I think the band info box, is very intriguing for the readers, in reading about the exclusive band. This may entice them to read more and due to the band being 16-18 year old, the teenager target audience can relate to these text and images. My article talks about tours in the UK, where i have aimed my magazine to its potential readers. I used the same font throughout my magazine, on my text. And all titles or sub heading would be in a different font called ‘impact’ which is and sans serif font, so it has its formality to it, so older readers aren't put off, say if i used bubble writing, that would connote a younger audience, so my mature fonts are used to draw in older readers. The captions, that anchor my images, have witty comments that are seen as immature, but my relate to my younger target audience, so the feel like they interact with the magazine. My band members are wearing clothes that would associate with teenagers and young adults very well, so that again the readers feel related to, and the band members are in a sense like them, in music and fashion. The language used through out my extract is relatively informal, chatty and has the odd derogative or swear word in. This would attract my target audience because it has a language they can to relate to easily.
