As shown in my analysis of results
we can see that the majority of
people who will be reading the
magazine are 16-18 year olds
with a reasonably equal spread of
both boys and girls. This result
however was done a small
amount of people so may not be
totally accurate. This group of
people can be seen to be well
represented throughout my
magazine as this is the main
target audience.
The way in which my magazine was written
displays the age and type of people who would
read my magazine. In my double page spread I
have used an informal approach with my q and
a. This is aimed towards the younger
generation who have more of a limited
vocabulary and don’t exactly have any interest
in long drawn out in depth conversations as
oppose to quick fire questions that are straight
to the point.
The colour scheme I have chosen is aimed
towards teenagers as well as people who are
interested in rock music. This is due to the
bright and dark playful colours and contrasts
that have been used it gives more of an
immature, childish look that wouldn’t be seen as
appropriate for a more mature reader. Although
my magazine may be age specific it doesn’t
have a gender bias as the colour scheme is
relatively neutral.
The clothes that have been used for the models
are specific to the music style promoted in the
magazine however aren't necessarily specific to
gender. The clothes worn by the female model
on the front cover could be worn by either men
or women, so doesn’t show a gender bias. Also
the use of the prop guitar shows that the
magazine is clearly about rock music therefore
creating a target audience of people who are
interested in rock.
The social class that are going to be most
interested in the product are the working
class. This is due to the price and structure
of the magazine as well as the topic its
based on. The fact that the price will be
between £2 - £4 as shown in my analysis of
results shows the type of people that will be
buying the magazine. This social class is
also shown through the style of music as
generally the working class are interested in
rock music.
From the reader profile you can tell that the
person has a genuine interest in rock music,
however they show no interest in specifically
girly things as they are a girl. This shows that
they a more interested in the actual music
rather than the gender that the magazine is
aimed at. They also seem to show little
interest in the year the music is from which
goes against the general stereotype that
teens are into more current music.
