The Public Works Department has four divisions - Water & Sewer, Streets and Sanitation, Fleet Services, and Transportation. It oversees over 200 employees, 100 programs, and a $100 million budget. The Water & Sewer Division treats over 16 billion gallons of water annually and maintains over 160 miles of water main and 180 miles of sewer main. The Streets and Sanitation Division handles refuse, recycling, yard waste, street sweeping, and snow removal. The Transportation Division manages infrastructure planning, traffic studies, bike plans, street design, and parking operations. Public Works provides essential physical infrastructure and services for the city.
