2. Name:
• The name of my magazine is ‘Alternate’. I have
chosen this name because the genre of my
magazine is Alternate/ Alternate rock. I
wanted the magazine to sound catchy and in
matching with the genre.
3. Price:
• £2.00
• I don’t want my magazine to be over
expensive for a student. Personally as a
student I wouldn’t buy an expensive
magazine. On the questionnaire they said
around £2.00. Im happy with that.
4. Positioning Statement
• For 16-18 year old the Alternate magazine is
the benchmark among all other magazines
such as ‘Q’ and ‘AP’ because it is a brave
magazine design. The masthead makes it
stand out to the others, its catchy and people
can see the genre of the magazine clearly.
5. Distribution
• If my magazine was to be sold in shops, id like
to see it in corner shops or supermarkets. This
is because they are busy and the age ranges
are very wide.
6. Frequency of publication.
• I think when a magazine comes out weekly
the audience increases. So, to raise the
audience boarder I would provide a magazine
weekly. To keep the readers up to date.
7. Rationale
• My aim for this magazine is for it to go
worldwide. Id like to see teenagers impressed
with my idea, I think that would be great.
8. Style/Layout/Colour
• The style of my music magazine in my opinion
is brave. Not many people look back at a dark
coloured magazine. I want to try and make
alternate stand out but in a unique way. As im
hoping for it to be a unique magazine. My
style and layout has been inspired by the
magazines ‘Q’ and ‘AP’.
9. Regular Content
• My regular content would be tour dates and
music gossip. I think as a teenager, I always
want to know when my favourite artist are
touring. So I think that would be a nice idea to
apply that. Also, music gossip can attract quite
a lot of attention, so including that would
make it stand out more.
10. Featured Content
• I think my special content would be give a
ways, or any contest. I think that could attract
quite a lot of attention. A surprise contest
would be a nice touch in my opinion.
