2. AGE
People of all ages listen to indie music, but I’ll be
targeting the younger age groups, teenagers. I’m
targeting them because they are people who will be
most interested in not only the music but the fashion
side and the whole image that comes with the indie
genre.
3. GENDER
Now although both males and females are interested
in the indie image and genre of music, I’m hoping to
aim it slightly more at the females. I feel females will
be more likely to want to be up to date with the latest
indie bands and fashion. I’m hoping to link a bit of
indie fashion to my magazine.
4. OCCUPATION
My magazine won’t be specifically targeted at people
with a certain occupation. It’s aimed at teenagers
interested in indie genres, the target audience will be
students, either with low paid jobs or relying on parents
for money. The magazine will only be cheap because
they don’t have a lot of money to be spending on a
magazine.
5. CLASS
The class most likely to buy is the grade group C2DE,
the students will most likely have manual jobs, they’ll
be semi unskilled or won’t have a job at all and could
be relying on little income from their parents.
6. MOTIVATION TO BUY
People are usually motivated by a number of dif ferent things to
buy a magazine. Simple things such as the colour scheme, the
fonts or the layout of the cover, people are attracted to
ma g az ines u s i ng ima ges a nd t a l k ing a b o u t wh a t ’ s p o p u lar a t
the time, what genres are most l istened to and the clothes they
are wearing. Having exclusive of fers and competitions with good
rewards can attract people looking for freebies or are interested
in the competitions. The magazine can have exclusive
interviews with the latest ar tists at the time. I hope to increase
the motivation to buy my magazine by adding l ittle ar ticles
around the side that l ink to the indie image such as indie
fashion trends.
