2. • My primary target audience for my music magazine would
mainly be males between the ages 20-45 who have
interests in indie music, fashion and British culture. Using
my research from the website 'UKTribes' I found that my
target audience would be mainly indie scenesters and
hipsters. These sort of audiences listen to new and old
music, examples of artists they would listen to would be
The Jam, Arctic Monkeys, Miles Kane, The Smiths, The
Stone Roses, Foals, Peace and many more. My audience
would also enjoy going to live events such as gigs and
festivals often, regularly shop in exclusive stores that are
hidden away and enjoy going out to buy new clothes.
3. • The types of television programs that my
audience would watch would be ones
such as the IT crowd and Grand Designs
as these are very creative and witty
programs. My audience would also keep
up with the fashion scene and often
wear smart casual clothes and sometime
high end street wear. I address my
audience through the design of my
magazine by using simple layouts, bold
fonts, minimalistic pages and subtle
colours. I tried to give my magazine a
very professional and modern look to it
so it would appeal to my target audience
and tried to make it look a lot like what
my consumers would want. Because my
magazine is less conventional it would be
more attracting and appealing to my
audience because they prefer magazines
that are limited and harder to get hold of
such as publications like 'Hypebeast' and
'Loud and Quiet'.
4. • The audience would be more attracted to my
magazine because it is different to the all of the
mainstream magazines that are available to them
and offers more of a modern look and style.
Although my magazine is targeted at this
audience, my magazine will not ignore the other
age ranges and sexes as the magazine will provide
something such as bands to suit them as well as
the primary target audience.
