Different Frontiers of Social Media War in Indonesia Elections 2024
Evaluation 2 – how does your media product
1. Evaluation 2 – How does your media
product represent particular social
groups

2. Gender and sexualisation
• Due to the male rock ‘n’ roll indie nature of
my magazine it would be targeted at both
boys and girls, this is a wide range of people
who would purchase my magazine.
• I also believe that the band mentions on my
cover lines and contents page also the male
model will attract people to buy the magazine
3. Age
• The age represented by my magazine is fairly young/young
adults – the magazine features well known artists and
bands – these are artists who are in the public eye and
have had successful singles. My magazine differs from a
pop magazine e.g. “we love pop” as I have a much more
mature audience. Pop magazines are mainly for typical pop
or bop artists – Justin Bieber or bands for example – One
direction, many girls would purchase a pop magazine with
that particular boy band or that particular artist.
• I have represented my target audience through layout,
clothing, props – e.g. glasses, facial expression of the artist
4. Class
• My magazine represents middle class, my magazine is not
overpriced, my magazine is £2.50. I think this is a fairly reasonable
price, it matches well with my questionnaire and shows that people
will be willing to pay for it.
• The subscription and the QR scanner on the on the contents page
also represents social groups I am targeting as it offers discounting
prices
• The cover lines/people featured in my magazine e.g. the arctic
monkeys are included as being in ‘classes’ – this is due to the
clothing they wear and their indie rock ‘n’ roll music .
• The arctic monkeys in contrast to the rolling stones who are also
featured on my magazine are the same class – the only difference is
that the rolling stones are known worldwide and the arctic monkeys
are not
5. Ethnicity
• I have used a white male model in my front cover,
I also have other white male models and a white
female featured in my contents page.
• However just because there is not mixed race and
a model with a different culture/background I
don’t think this would effect someone purchasing
the magazine. My target audience is young
adults, I used chose to put the images I took in
my magazine because I thought the y were the
right look for the overall magazine
