PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS

INTRODUCTION
Strong communication skills, a good listener, a
beautiful smile, and the ability to work as a team
are some of the qualities of a cabin crew.
Our main objective is to make sure we fully satisfy
the customers needs since all of them are worthy
of our time and we should treat all of them with
respect.
But despite all this, the cabin crew lifestyle can
also be a psychological retreat that makes them
deny themselves the opportunity of addressing
the heart of a particular problem.
PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS
AMONG CABIN CREWS
1. Illness- from passengers, due to bad weather,
chemicals which contaminate the air, and engine oil.
2. Relationships- constantly changing of crews make
it difficult to form stable and long lasting work
alliances resulting to lack of continuity and
development in work relations.
3.Lack of control of lifestyle- always away from
family, friends and difficulty in planning ahead which
could begin to burst the bubble.

4. Adapting to company culture- reliability,
availability, flexibility and adaptability.
5.Trauma- This can occur after a crush, it makes a
crew have intrusive thoughts, avoidance,
depressed mood, anxiety and fear.
6.False emotions- this happens mostly while
serving customers, you have to smile all the time
even if you are shouted at and act like everything
is fine.

7. Insecurity- crews at times have to travel late at
night or very early in the morning which puts
their lives at risk of being attacked.
8. Eating Disorders- Eating meals that you are not
familiar with in different countries, Dieting so as
to watch your weight.
9. Irregular work hours- normal work hours are
from 9am to 5pm but a cabin crew has a different
work schedule.

10. Change in some of the body functions- This
mostly affect ladies e.g. change in the menstrual
cycle.
11. Fatigue- working for long hours most of the
time causes migraine
12. Low self esteem- Lack of confidence due to
different standards.
CONCLUSION
 After discussing the psychological problems
among cabin crew, we realize that the work is not
all about travelling all over the world and staying
in exotic locations but its about delivering
outstanding customer service in all conditions.

Psychological problems among cabin crew

  • 3. INTRODUCTION Strong communication skills, a good listener, a beautiful smile, and the ability to work as a team are some of the qualities of a cabin crew. Our main objective is to make sure we fully satisfy the customers needs since all of them are worthy of our time and we should treat all of them with respect. But despite all this, the cabin crew lifestyle can also be a psychological retreat that makes them deny themselves the opportunity of addressing the heart of a particular problem.
  • 4. PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS AMONG CABIN CREWS 1. Illness- from passengers, due to bad weather, chemicals which contaminate the air, and engine oil. 2. Relationships- constantly changing of crews make it difficult to form stable and long lasting work alliances resulting to lack of continuity and development in work relations. 3.Lack of control of lifestyle- always away from family, friends and difficulty in planning ahead which could begin to burst the bubble.

Adapting to company culture- reliability, availability, flexibility and adaptability. 5.Trauma- This can occur after a crush, it makes a crew have intrusive thoughts, avoidance, depressed mood, anxiety and fear. 6.False emotions- this happens mostly while serving customers, you have to smile all the time even if you are shouted at and act like everything is fine.
  • 6. CONTI… 7. Insecurity- crews at times have to travel late at night or very early in the morning which puts their lives at risk of being attacked. 8. Eating Disorders- Eating meals that you are not familiar with in different countries, Dieting so as to watch your weight. 9. Irregular work hours- normal work hours are from 9am to 5pm but a cabin crew has a different work schedule.
  • 7. CONTI… 10. Change in some of the body functions- This mostly affect ladies e.g. change in the menstrual cycle. 11. Fatigue- working for long hours most of the time causes migraine 12. Low self esteem- Lack of confidence due to different standards.
  • 8. CONCLUSION  After discussing the psychological problems among cabin crew, we realize that the work is not all about travelling all over the world and staying in exotic locations but its about delivering outstanding customer service in all conditions.
