Bhatye estuary, Ratnagiri is known for its mussel and clam fishery. Clam fishery is primarily supported by Meretrix meretrix, Katelysia opima and Paphia laterisulea. The clam fishery lasts for about 8 – 10 months. During lean period of open sea fishery, it provides protein rich food and livelihood to local population... Its shells are utilized as raw material in lime and cement cottage industries. Considering its food and economic value they are over exploited. In the present study, economic and food value of clams, clam fishery, management and conservation aspects are discussed. Evaluation of house fly (Musca domestica) maggot meal and termite (Macroterme...Premier Publishers
A 56-day feeding trial was conducted to investigate the effects of the combination of maggot and termite meal with Coppens commercial feed on the growth performance, food utilization and survival of the African catfish (C. gariepinus). A total of 150 fingerlings were stocked in fifteen glass aquaria, 10 each in triplicate. Fish in aquarium A1, A2 and A3 were fed maggot meal (100 %-MM), B1, B2 and B3 with termite meal (100 % - TM), C1, C2 and C3 with equal combination of maggot meal and Coppens feed (50:50), D1, D2, and D3 with equal combination of termite meal and Coppens feed (50:50) and E1, E2 and E3 with Coppens feed (100 %). Growth performance including length gain, weight gain, growth rate, specific growth rate and mean growth rate and food utilization indices including food consumed (g), food conversion ratio and food conversion ratio showed significant variation (P<0.05) in fish fed Coppens feed compared to other treatments. Physico-chemical parameters and ammonia (mg/l) were within the acceptable range for optimal growth of freshwater fishes. Although Coppens was the best result for growth and food utilization, the combination of maggot/termite meal with Coppens as supplementary feed will reduce the cost of fish production exposing farmers to a higher profit margin. In conclusion, feeding fish with only termite meal or maggot meal can lead to poor growth because these insect meals do not provide all the nutrients required for optimal growth in fish. However, maggot meal and termite meal should be used as only as a supplementary food in fish culture or as a replacement for highly priced fishmeal in fish feed formulation because they are rich in protein.

Fish diversity essentially represents the fish faunal diversity. The survey was undertaken during the period from February 2016 to july 2016 in the region of Vettathukadavu, in Kayamkulam backwater, Kerala. The major objective of this study was to find out the biodiversity status of fishes in the Vettathukadavu region of Kayamkulam backwater, Kerala. Conservation status of fishes was assessed by IUCN Conservation status. The Survey of the studied stretch of backwater were resulted in recording of 25 fish species belonging to 6 orders and 15 familes. Of the 25 species reported during the study, 15 are least concern, 1 is critically endangered, 1 is vulnerable, 6 species are not evaluated and 2 species are not reported in IUCN Red.

ABSTRACT- Order siluriformes, Bagridae family of four number of catfish species provides information on the diets of
Mystus bleekeri, Mystus cavasius, Mystus tengara, Mystus vittatus in Lower Manair reservoir. The total of 1021 fish
species examined and their stomach content was analyzed. The frequency of occurrence and numerical methods were
employed in this study. In the numerical analysis, crustaceans and insect parts (85.91%) constituted the most important
diet of Mystus bleekeri followed by fish remains (78.40%), plant materials (69.01%), algae/ protozoan (64.79%), molluscs
(63.38%), detritus (56.81%) and sand grains (33.80%). The number of food items were enumerated for the crustaceans
and insect parts in Mystus bleekeri have been contained the maximum percentage (34.84%) of the content under
frequency of occurrence method followed by algae and protozoan with 20.76%, Molluscs with 18.37%, plant materials
with 15.60% and sand grains with 10.44%. The result of the analysis showed that Mystus cavasius, Mystus tengara,
Mystus vittatus fed on similar food items. These were mainly crustaceans, molluscans, fish remains and macrophytes.
Other food items include algae, detritus, sand grains. These four species are omnivorous and occupy the same ecological
niche.

Bio-economic analysis of ESBN fishery of Kumira, the coastal area of Chittago...AbdullaAlAsif1
The present investigation was conducted from May to December 2005 at Kumira, the representative area of Chittagong coast for bio-socioeconomic analysis of ESBN fishery. In catch composition of Kumira, it was observed that finfish occupied 77.03 %, shrimp 19.82 % and crab 3.15 % and the average catch per boat per day were found 16.6 kg in Kumira. The highest total catch per boat per day (50 kg) was found in October at Kumira. The lowest catch was found (2 kg) in August at Kumira. The average total catch per landing center per month was found 14805 kg at Kumira. The average catch per fishermen per day was found 3.39 kg at Kumira and the average cost per boat per month was about 7,813 Tk in the study area. Average sale per month was found over 18,713 Tk in Kumira. During the month July and August most of the fishermen were engaged in Hilsa fishing with the Hilsa gill net resulting the total catch was with ESBN lowest in those months.
Puffer fish belonging to the family tetraodontidae are usually distributed in the shallow waters. During investigation in stations viz. Marina Park, Chidiyatapu and Burmanullah, around Andaman, five species from genus Arothron and two from Canthigaster have been recorded and were mostly found to prefer coral reefs and rock crevices, with the exception of Arothron immaculatus, which was found to be present in the open waters and it confined to sandy bottom substrate with patches of sea grasses around them. These fishes were found to be most diverse and abundant in Chidiyatapu with the Margelef’s Richness Index of 2.49, Shannon-Wiener index of 1.05 and Pielou’s evenness index of 0.96. Biometric analysis results demonstrate that they have shown an isometric growth. The individuals collected were mostly lying in the length group of 120-160 mm. Gut content analysis of A. Immaculatus reveals that the fish feed mainly on molluscs and sea urchin and the other food items were shrimps, crabs, sponges, micro algae, foraminiferans etc. gastro-somatic index, hepato-somatic index and gonado-somatic indices were also calculated to throw light upon the feeding behavior and reproductive maturity of the fishes. Most of the individuals were found to be in the developing stage of maturity.

Impact of stocking common carp (Cyprinus carpio) on production in some select...AbdullaAlAsif1
The present study was conducted in three seasonal beels in Gacha union under Gazipur sadar upazila in Gazipur district during the period from June 2015 to January 2016. The objectives of the study were to evaluate the impact of stocking common carp on the abundance and biodiversity of native fish species in seasonal beels. Three seasonal beels such as Baroholai, Makhna and Buridha which were connected with Turag River through different canals were selected to implement the study. Baroholai and Makhna beel were stocked with common carp fingerlings at 2500 per hectare. Buridha beel served as control. Necessary data were collected from the fishermen and lease holders of the concern beel through using structured questionnaire by survey method. A total of 42-43 species of fishes were recorded from stocked beel as against of 43 species in control beel. Shanon-Weiner diversity index averaged 2.58 in stocked beel as opposed to 2.68 for control beel. The studied beel had medium richness in terms of biodiversity and faunal abundances. Per hectare fish production was 522-577kg in stocked beels as compared to 365kg in control beel. Cyprinidae was the most abundant group contributing to the bulk of fishery yield. Surface feeder took a lead over other groups of fishes in stocked beel as opposed to bottom feeder in case of control beel. Bottom dwelling small catfishes seems to be affected in presence of common carp in the stocked beels. Control beel harboured increased number and quantity of catfishes. Fish productions in the seasonal beels were profitable. Per hectare total cost of fish production averaged tk 34976.67 as against of total gross return of tk 92683.67. Benefit cost ratio (BCR) was found to be 2.57-3.42 in stocked beel and 2.01 in control beel. Further researches are needed to precisely determine the possible consequences of stocking common carp in seasonal beels.

Background and Objective: The mola carplet, Amblypharyngodon mola is a representative small indigenous fish species that is enriched with different vitamins and minerals. The main objective of this study was to determine the reproductive biology of A. mola for better scientific management and conservation in hapa based culture, set up in a large earthen pond. Materials and Methods: The experiment was conducted of three treatment with two replicates along hapa size varied treatment: T1 (2 m3), treatment: T2 (10 m3) and treatment: T3 (20 m3) with two replicates each and the stocking density in those hapas were 50, 250 and 500g, respectively in April, 2012 to March, 2013. Some biological characteristics, gonad weight, Gonadosomatic Index (GSI) and condition factor (K) of both sexes were observed. Results: Cycle of gonadal maturation and month-wise variations were documented with their fecundity, size-frequency of intra-ovarian oocytes in females. Throughout the suitable physic-chemical parameters, monthly microscopic examination of gonad revealed five maturity stages of female A. mola but male showed same four stages. Ripe ova have been observed for nine consecutive months (April to December) which referring extended the breeding season. Considering the stocking density and hapa sizes, A. mola bred the highest frequency in T3 during the culture period. Different size classes of intraovarian oocytes have portrayed the batch-wise (asynchronous) development of oocytes in A. mola throughout the culture period. Conclusion: This evidence suggests that A. mola has its inherent regulating mechanism of oocyte development adapted to the annual life of the fish, in spite of their single spawning habit, they discharge all oocytes in different batches throughout the spawning season.
ABSTRACT- Lizardfishes are commercially important group of species contributing to the fishery in the Indian EEZ. Information on predation, prey-predator relationship and their assessments in respect of Saurida tumbil and Saurida undosquamis have been derived in this study. A total number of 1630 specimens of S. tumbil and 926 of S. undosquamis were used for stomach content analysis. The specimens of S. tumbil examined in the study ranged between 13.0-53.0 cm (TL) and of S. undosquamis 13.0-41.0 cm. Qualitative and quantitative analysis revealed that the species S. tumbil prefers food in order of abundance as a teleost fishes (41%), molluscs (9.16%), shrimps (3.64%), crabs (1.41%) and squilla (0.37%) and S. undosquamis prefers teleost fishes (49%), molluscs (11%) and shrimps (3%). In S. tumbil, the highest feeding intensity observed in July (50%) and in S. undosquamis, in October (41%) and the lowest intensity recorded in the month of June for both the species. Monthly Gonado Somatic Index (GSI) shown that the highest feeding was observed in January (10.55%) and July (10.76%) for S. tumbil whereas, in case of S. undosquamis, the GSI was highest in August (16.58% for males and 17.80% for females). The pieces of sand granules, detritus and benthic organisms in the stomachs of the species indicating the benthic nature at the sea bottom in the search of food. Occurrence of juvenile lizardfishes in gut contents of both the species indicates that the lizardfishes are cannibalistic in nature.

Growth of freshwater mud eel (Monopterus cuchia) in different water condition...AbdullaAlAsif1
An experiment was conducted to study the effect of different feeds on growth and production of freshwater Mud Eel (Monopterus cuchia) in nine aquariums over a period of 90 days during June to August 2016. Three different feeds namely Feed A (live feed), Feed B (supplementary feed) and Feed C (probiotics) were applied to treatments I, II and III respectively. Three types of water used in aquarium. These are pond water, ground water and turbid water. Each of the tanks was stocked with nine fish that's total fish amount of 27. Significantly highest weight gain was obtained in pond water, treatment III, (16.39a ± 2.35). Treatment III yielded the highest (65.56a ±9.4 g/m 2 /year) production with the highest survival rate of fish. Water quality parameters like temperature, dissolved oxygen, P H , and alkalinity were optimum. On the basis of better growth and production, it is suggested that pond water condition with probiotics are suitable for the culture of M. cuchia in aquarium.

Small indigenous fish species (SIFs) are important source of protein and micronutrients for the local population and hence considered as potential for aquaculture expansion. Pethia conchonius, Glossogobius giuris, Nandus nandus and Trichogaster fasciata are such SIFs found in Sareswar beel of Kokrajhar, Assam, India. This is an important beel with potential for development of fisheries in the region. Information on the food habit and digestive physiology are important in understanding the nutritional biology of a fish species essential for designing appropriate diet and feeding strategy for its successful culture. The present investigation aims to study and compare the feeding habit and digestive enzyme profile of these species. Relative gut length data suggested that P. conchonius and T. fasciata were herbivores, while N. nandus and G. giuris were omnivore and carnivore, respectively. Ga.SI varied in all the species (2.65 ± 1.39 to 4.66 ± 2.14) and the result indicated good or high feeding intensity in all the species. The highest amylase and lipase activity was observed in T. fasciata, and significantly lower activity was recorded in G. giuris and N. nandus, respectively. Pepsin was found to be highest in N. nandus while total protease was greatest in P. conchonius. Plasticity in the food intake in the natural environment seems to influence the enzyme activities. The present study has established vital information on the digestive enzyme properties and feeding nature of the four SIFs which may be useful in the development of suitable feed for their mass production for their successful culture.

Mud crab (Scylla serrata) farming is one of the main sources of livelihood in Calauag, Quezon. Commonly, they use trash fish as their major source of feeds for mud crabs. However, fluctuation on its prices happen because of supply and demand, thus the use of other natural feeds were conceptualized. This aimed to determine if there are significant differences on the weight, protein content and meat characteristics of mud crabs fed with different natural feeds. It also aimed to assess the profitability of mud crab farming in plastic cages using different natural feeds. The experiment was laid out in Complete Randomized Design with three treatments replicated thrice: T1 – trash fish, T2 – horn snail meat and T3 – yellow corn. Results revealed that mud crabs fed with horn snail had the highest weight and protein content as compared to the other treatments. Hence, had the highest ROI. While, in the sensory analysis of its meat characteristics, mud crabs fed with yellow corn had the highest mean which was rated as very much juicy, flavorful and very much acceptable.
Effects of Different Kinds of Fertilizers on Growth and Production of Fishes ...Premier Publishers
The experiment was conducted to determine the effects of different kinds of fertilizers on growth and production of fishes (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix, Oreochromis niloticus and Cirrhinus cirrhosus) in polyculture for four months in six earthen ponds which were situated at the south-east corner of the Faculty of Fisheries Buildings, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. The experiment was carried out under three treatments and each pond was stocked with a total of 60 fingerlings at the rate 60/decimal. Pond nos. 2, 4 were under treatment-I where use of cowdung 10 kg/dec./2 weeks, pond nos. 1, 3 were under the treatment-II where use of TSP of 90g/dec./two weeks and pond nos. 5, 6 were under the treatment-III where use of urea of 60g/dec./two weeks. The average initial length and weight of the fingerlings of silver carp, tilapia and mrigal were 10.52, 10.89 and 14.40cm respectively and 17.92, 30.00 and 46.67g respectively. During the experimental period the ranges of water temperature (14.50 to 24.70 °C), transparency (22.35 to 33.10 cm), dissolved oxygen (6.50 to 8.20 mg/L), pH (6.40 to 8.20), total alkalinity (145.00 to 210.00 mg/L), Free CO2 (1.40 to 3.10 mg/L), phosphate-phosphorus (1.50 to 2.30 mg/L), and nitrate-nitrogen (2.70 to 4.00 mg/L) were found within the productive limit and more or less similar in all the ponds under the treatments-I,II, and III. There were 24 genera of phytoplankton under five major groups and 9 genera of zooplankton under three major groups in the experimental ponds. The calculated gross and net productions, under treatment-I were 1.71 ton/ha/yr and 0.43 ton/ha/yr respectively, under treatment-II were 2.01 ton/ha/yr and 0.72 ton/ha/yr. respectively and under treatment-III were 1.69 ton/ha/yr and 0.41 ton/ha/yr respectively. From the present experiment on fish culture it might be concluded that as single fertilizer TSP is the best fertilizer to be used in fish culture ponds because in treatment-II, net and gross productions were highest than those in treatments I and III.

The present study was carried out to access on the present status of Indian major carp broodstock management, suggests some guidelines to control negative selection and inbreeding in hatchery stocks in Jessore, Bangladesh. The survey was conducted in 20 hatcheries at Chacrha in Jessore from November, 2013 to October, 2014. Information showed that brood fish selection for induced breeding was done on the basis of their experience. The sources of brood fish were mainly own and other sources were Halda River, Padma River, Govt. brood bank, world fish center and BFRI. Feed ingredients used as rice bran (39%), mustard oil cake (29%), vitamin and mineral premix (3%), wheat flour (7%), fish meal (13%) and soyabean flour (5%). Nutritional compositions of feed were protein (20-30%), lipid (10-12%), carbohydrate (25-35%) and fat (7-11%). Fertilizer such as TSP (0.484 kg/decimal), urea (0.242 kg/decimal), cowdung (6.5 kg/decimal), poultry dropping (3 kg/decimal) and MP (0.181 kg/decimal) were used. Hatching rate was 85-91% and deformed hatchlings were 5-7% in the hatcheries. Both positive (63%) and negative (37%) selection were identified. Anchor worm (Lernaeasis) disease was the most harmful problem of which solution was not given by them. Hatcheries owners assumed that if they would use wild brood fish, inbreeding could be removed and thus survival and growth of fry could be increased.
Evaluation of the Biochemical Composition of Four Marine Algae and Its Nutrit...IOSR Journals
Microalgae are utilized in aquaculture as a live feed for the crustaceans, ablone, zooplanktons, etc. The present study was aimed to examine the nutritional status of Artemia sp. nauplii enriched with four different algal sources namely Chaetoceros calcitrans, Skeletonema coastaum, Duniella salina & D. bardawil and also the amount of beta-carotene assimilated when enriched with the two green algae. Artemia sp. nauplii enriched with D. salina showed high amounts of protein and carbohydrate, whereas Artemia sp. fed with Chaetoceros calcitrans showed high amounts of lipid. The protein profile of Artemia sp. enriched with different algal sources did not show prominent differences in the polypeptide bands. However, high amount of beta-carotene was assimilated in Artemia sp. nauplii when enriched with D. salina. Hence this study showed that the microalgae D. salina can be used as a potential feed to improve the nutritional status of Artemia sp. nauplii.

The Bornean Spotted Barb is endemic fish species and widely distributed throughout Borneo in various freshwater bodies and can be considered as a potential aquaculture candidate for food security and the ornamental trade. However there has yet to be scientific studies on the early life history and developmental stages of this species. Thus the present study reveals the embryonic development of Puntius sealei embryo, from fertilization to post-hatching using the induced breeding method. The induced spawning on P. sealei using Ovaprim hormone at a dose of 0.5 ml/kg for females and 0.25ml/kg for males respectively was successfully conducted and the embryonic development of the fertilized eggs were observed. The zygote, cleavage, blastula, gastrula, segmentation, and larval phases were the six major stages of embryogenesis that investigated in this experiment. This study contributed major knowledge to the early developmental biology of this particular species. The information will be useful for accessing the potentiality of this species for aquaculture as well as the management, and production of the species.

Culture and management techniques of Vietnamese KoiAbdullaAlAsif1
The first time study approach about culture and management in Bangladesh was conducted to observe the induce breeding, nursing and rearing technique of Vietnam koi (Anabas testudineus) fish culture in fresh water farm in Mymensingh region, Bangladesh for a period of 120 days from May, 2013 to August, 2013. In this study, inducing agent PG was used to achieve fertilization and hatching success of climbing perch, Anabas testudineus. During induce breeding, male and female in a ratio of 1:1 were used. The females were given single injection of 6-8 mg PG/kg body weight and the males were given 2-3 mg PG/kg body weight and nursing and rearing of vietnam koi (Anabas testudineus) fish were carried out as monoculture in earthen ponds. In this study, two earthen ponds of 20 decimal with an average depth of 2.5 to 3 feet and two earthen ponds of 50 decimal with an average depth of 3 to 5 feet were used for nursing and rearing of Vietnam koi respectively. Nursing and rearing of Vietnam koi (Anabas testudinus) were carried out as monoculture in earthen ponds. The water temperature in the culture pond was ranged from 31.29±0.85 to 35.5±0.58 0 C during nursing and rearing. The value of Dissolve Oxygen (DO) and pH was ranged from 6.20±0.41 to 5.0±0.71 mg/l and 7.8±0.62 to 7.1±0.47 respectively. The average weight of the fingerlings during stocking was 0.8g in nursery stage and 20g in rearing stage. Fingerlings were stocked at 1750 fish /decimal in the rearing pond. Fry in the nursing ponds were fed with Hatchery feed (powder) at the rate of 40-50% of their total body weight. Fingerlings in the rearing ponds were fed with Koi Starter and Koi Grower feed at the rate of 15-20% of their total body weight. The final average weight (g) of Vietnam koi was (0.8±0.08)g in nursery stage & (200.0±0.82)g in rearing stage. The Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) of total artificial feed was 1.63. The survival rate of Vietnam koi fish was 70% and the net production was 167kg/decimal. The total benefit was 5,48,455.00 BDT. Benefit-cost ratio of this study was 1.43. Therefore, it could be concluded that nursing and rearing of Vietnam koi (Anabas testudineus) by using artificial feed under a monoculture system in the earthen ponds is potentially and economically feasible.

Background and Objective Telehealth has become a well known tool for the delivery of health care in Saudi Arabia, and the perspective and knowledge of healthcare providers are influential in the implementation, adoption and advancement of the method. This systematic review was conducted to examine the current literature base regarding telehealth and the related healthcare professional perspective and knowledge in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Materials and Methods This systematic review was conducted by searching 7 databases including, MEDLINE, CINHAL, Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, PsycINFO, and ProQuest Central. Studies on healthcare practitioners telehealth knowledge and perspectives published in English in Saudi Arabia from 2000 to 2023 were included. Boland directed this comprehensive review. The researchers examined each connected study using the AXIS tool, which evaluates cross sectional systematic reviews. Narrative synthesis was used to summarise and convey the data. Results Out of 1840 search results, 10 studies were included. Positive outlook and limited knowledge among providers were seen across trials. Healthcare professionals like telehealth for its ability to improve quality, access, and delivery, save time and money, and be successful. Age, gender, occupation, and work experience also affect health workers knowledge. In Saudi Arabia, healthcare professionals face inadequate expert assistance, patient privacy, internet connection concerns, lack of training courses, lack of telehealth understanding, and high costs while performing telemedicine. Conclusions Healthcare practitioners telehealth perceptions and knowledge were examined in this systematic study. Its collection of concerned experts different personal attitudes and expertise would help enhance telehealths implementation in Saudi Arabia, develop its healthcare delivery alternative, and eliminate frequent problems. This research investigates the nexus between online discussions on Dr. B.R. Ambedkars ideals and their impact on social inclusion among college students in Gurugram, Haryana. Surveying 240 students from 12 government colleges, findings indicate that 65 actively engage in online discussions, with 80 demonstrating moderate to high awareness of Ambedkars ideals. Statistically significant correlations reveal that higher online engagement correlates with increased awareness p 0.05 and perceived social inclusion. Variations across colleges and a notable effect of college type on perceived social inclusion highlight the influence of contextual factors. Furthermore, the intersectional analysis underscores nuanced differences based on gender, caste, and socio economic status. Corporate disclosure is done through publishing annual reports. So corporate disclosure through annual reports plays a vital role in the life of all the companies and provides valuable information to investors. The basic objectives of corporate disclosure is to give a true and fair view of companies to the parties related either directly or indirectly like owner, government, creditors, shareholders etc. in the companies act, provisions have been made about mandatory and voluntary disclosure. The IT sector in India is rapidly growing, the trend to invest in the IT sector is rising and employment opportunities in IT sectors are also increasing. Therefore the IT sector is expected to have fair, full and adequate disclosure of all information. Unfair and incomplete disclosure may adversely affect the entire economy. A research study on disclosure practices of IT companies could play an important role in this regard. The Role of Mentoring and Its Influence on the Effectiveness of the Teaching ...ijtsrd
This paper reports on a study which was conducted to investigate the role of mentoring and its influence on the effectiveness of the teaching of Physics in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. The study adopted the convergent parallel mixed methods design, focusing on respondents in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected, analysed separately, and the results were compared to see if the findings confirm or disconfirm each other. The quantitative analysis found that majority of the respondents 72 of Physics teachers affirmed that they had more experienced colleagues as mentors to help build their confidence, improve their teaching, and help them improve their effectiveness and efficiency in guiding learners’ achievements. Only 28 of the respondents disagreed with these statements. With majority respondents 72 agreeing with the statements, it implies that in most secondary schools, experienced Physics teachers act as mentors to build teachers’ confidence in teaching and improving students’ learning. The interview qualitative data analysis summarized how secondary school Principals use meetings with mentors and mentees to promote mentorship in the school milieu. This has helped strengthen teachers’ classroom practices in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. With the results confirming each other, the study recommends that mentoring should focus on helping teachers employ social interactions and instructional practices feedback and clarity in teaching that have direct measurable impact on students’ learning achievements. Design Simulation and Hardware Construction of an Arduino Microcontroller Bas...ijtsrd
This study primarily focuses on the design of a high side buck converter using an Arduino microcontroller. The converter is specifically intended for use in DC DC applications, particularly in standalone solar PV systems where the PV output voltage exceeds the load or battery voltage. To evaluate the performance of the converter, simulation experiments are conducted using Proteus Software. These simulations provide insights into the input and output voltages, currents, powers, and efficiency under different state of charge SoC conditions of a 12V,70Ah rechargeable lead acid battery. Additionally, the hardware design of the converter is implemented, and practical data is collected through operation, monitoring, and recording. By comparing the simulation results with the practical results, the efficiency and performance of the designed converter are assessed. The findings indicate that while the buck converter is suitable for practical use in standalone PV systems, its efficiency is compromised due to a lower output current. Energy becomes sustainable if it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Some of the definitions of sustainable energy include the considerations of environmental aspects such as greenhouse gas emissions, social, and economic aspects such as energy poverty. Generally far more sustainable than fossil fuel are renewable energy sources such as wind, hydroelectric power, solar, and geothermal energy sources. Worthy of note is that some renewable energy projects, like the clearing of forests to produce biofuels, can cause severe environmental damage. The sustainability of nuclear power which is a low carbon source is highly debated because of concerns about radioactive waste, nuclear proliferation, and accidents. The switching from coal to natural gas has environmental benefits, including a lower climate impact, but could lead to delay in switching to more sustainable options. “Carbon capture and storage” can be built into power plants to remove the carbon dioxide CO2 emissions, but this technology is expensive and has rarely been implemented. Leading non renewable energy sources around the world is fossil fuels, coal, petroleum, and natural gas. Nuclear energy is usually considered another non renewable energy source, although nuclear energy itself is a renewable energy source, but the material used in nuclear power plants is not. This paper aims to outline the executive regulations, survey standards, and specifications required for the implementation of the Sudan Survey Act, and for regulating and organizing all surveying work activities in Sudan. The act has been discussed for more than 5 years. The Land Survey Act was initiated by the Sudan Survey Authority and all official legislations were headed by the Sudan Ministry of Justice till it was issued in 2022. The paper presents conceptual guidelines to be used for the Survey Act implementation and to regulate the survey work practice, standardizing the field surveys, processing, quality control, procedures, and the processes related to survey work carried out by the stakeholders and relevant authorities in Sudan. The conceptual guidelines are meant to improve the quality and harmonization of geospatial data and to aid decision making processes as well as geospatial information systems. The established comprehensive executive regulations will govern and regulate the implementation of the Sudan Survey Geomatics Act in all surveying and mapping practices undertaken by the Sudan Survey Authority SSA and state local survey departments for public or private sector organizations. The targeted standards and specifications include the reference frame, projection, coordinate systems, and the guidelines and specifications that must be followed in the field of survey work, processes, and mapping products. In the last few decades, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of geomatics activities and measurements on the Earths surface in space and time, together with observing and mapping the changes. In such cases, data must be captured promptly, standardized, and obtained with more accuracy and specified in much detail. Towards the Implementation of the Sudan Interpolated Geoid Model Khartoum Sta...ijtsrd
The discussions between ellipsoid and geoid have invoked many researchers during the recent decades, especially during the GNSS technology era, which had witnessed a great deal of development but still geoid undulation requires more investigations. To figure out a solution for Sudans local geoid, this research has tried to intake the possibility of determining the geoid model by following two approaches, gravimetric and geometrical geoid model determination, by making use of GNSS leveling benchmarks at Khartoum state. The Benchmarks are well distributed in the study area, in which, the horizontal coordinates and the height above the ellipsoid have been observed by GNSS while orthometric heights were carried out using precise leveling. The Global Geopotential Model GGM represented in EGM2008 has been exploited to figure out the geoid undulation at the benchmarks in the study area. This is followed by a fitting process, that has been done to suit the geoid undulation data which has been computed using GNSS leveling data and geoid undulation inspired by the EGM2008. Two geoid surfaces were created after the fitting process to ensure that they are identical and both of them could be counted for getting the same geoid undulation with an acceptable accuracy. In this respect, statistical operation played an important role in ensuring the consistency and integrity of the model by applying cross validation techniques splitting the data into training and testing datasets for building the geoid model and testing its eligibility. The geometrical solution for geoid undulation computation has been utilized by applying straightforward equations that facilitate the calculation of the geoid undulation directly through applying statistical techniques for the GNSS leveling data of the study area to get the common equation parameters values that could be utilized to calculate geoid undulation of any position in the study area within the claimed accuracy. Both systems were checked and proved eligible to be used within the study area with acceptable accuracy which may contribute to solving the geoid undulation problem in the Khartoum area, and be further generalized to determine the geoid model over the entire country, and this could be considered in the future, for regional and continental geoid model. The COVID 19 pandemic has highlighted the crucial need of preventive measures, with widespread use of face masks being a key method for slowing the viruss spread. Material and Methods
1. Study area – Bhatye estuary, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra.

It is situated between 73o.15l East and 16o.51l north. It is formed due to merging of Kajali river in to Arabiansea near Ratnagiri.
It has water spread of 2820 hectors and its mouth covers about 18 hectors .Its perennial opening permits an ideal estuarine
zone for local fishermen.
2. Collection of clams and biochemical estimation-
For quantitative analysis, clams were collected by simple handpickingandchisel method.Adultclams withmoderatesizewere
selected and juvenile and small sized clams were released back intheirnatural habitat.Selectedclamswere broughtback tothe
laboratory and shells were brushed to clean fouling biomass and mud. Length was measured by vernier calliper. Few clams
were dissected and soft tissue was separated, dried in an oven (700C). Dried tissue powder was used for biochemical analysis.
Clam tissue powder was analysed for estimation of total glycogen (De Zwane and Zandee, 19722), protein (Narasimham et al.,
19933) and lipids (Barnes and Black stock, 19734).Theratiobetweentotal glycogenandproteinwas calculated.Fewspecimens
were preserved in 70% alcohol for taxonomical identification.
Results and discussion-

In Maharashtra, clams are fished and utilized mainly in Ratnagiri. Three species are abundantly found in Bhatye estuary.They
are M. meretrix, K. opima and P. laterisulea, belong from family – Veneridae. M. meretrix is found in intertidal zone while K.
opima and P laterisulea are found in intertidal and subtidal zone. M. meretrix is polyhaline and mesohaline in nature.

Clams from Bhatye estuary represent major source of nutrients for human consumption. It makes it essential to find out
important facts about nutritive value. In the present study clam tissue powder was analysed for estimation of total glycogen
(De Zwane and Zandee, 1972), protein (Narasimhan et al, 1993) and lipids (Barnes and Blackstock, 1973).The study of

and carbohydrates changes with the season and reproductive cycle (Ansari, A. D, 19727). Glycogencontent wasmore(37.063)
in M. meretrix while P. laterisulea showed less (30.713). Protein content was more (26.532)inP. laterisulea,whileit waslessin
M. meretrix. Lipid content was more (9.437) in P.laterisulea while it was less in M.meretrix (6.042). Beninger and Stephan
(1985) observed that lipids are main energy reserves in the adult bivalves, being used in the gametogenesis and in the
condition of nutritional stress.
The amount of glycogen stored in the tissue at the given moment is the balance resulting from glycogenesisandglycolysis.The
glycogen has been considered as a principle energy source of adult bivalves (Achary G. P. K., 19888) especiallyunder condition
of nutritional stress.

The ratio between protein and glycogen decides taste and meat quality. In P.laterisulca, the ratio ofproteintoglycogen was1:
1.5, indicated better meat quality as compared to K.opima (1 : 1.67) and M.meretrix (1: 1.94).0 It changes according to species,
season, reproductive cycle and environmental parameters.
Dried Clam Meat-
Surplus catch of clams is preserved by drying process.These
clams are washed either in estuarine water or potablewater
and boiled. The boiling may last for abouthalftooneand half
hour or more, that depends on the quantity in the boiling
pot. After boiling, shells are removed and flesh sundried for
4-5 days. The shelf life of dried meat is about one year. The
cost of one kilogram of dried meat was about Rs.400-600,
that depend on the season and demand.
Shell value-
Shells are used for preparationoflimeandcement.Thereare
about 6 lime cottage industries in nearby villages. Local sell
of Rs.2/Kg. Generally shells of Turbo, Trochus, Xanthus,
Strombus, Cyprass, Conus, Tibia, Babylonia are used in
preparation of ornamental articles. Unfortunately shells of
clams are not used for preparation of ornamental articles,
although having utility.
Management and conservation-
Clams are providing rich and cheap source of protein rich
food about 8-10 months. As clam fishery is simple and
operated with non-mechanised gears, clams are over
exploited for food. Over exploitation and sand mining
diminishing clam catch and damaging their natural habitats
(Alagarswamy, and K. A. Narsinham ;19739). It is affecting
traditional occupation of locals. Similar types of damages
and disturbances are seen in other Indian estuaries (Rao. Et.
Al., 199610). For scientific and sustainable management
following steps should be taken-
1. For these clam species spawning period is October-
January. Clam fishing should be banned for the said
period.
2. Small sized clams should not be collected.
3. State fishery department should issue licence to well
informed and trained local fishermen.
Conclusion:
The Bhatye estuary is known for its clam fishery. Thefishery
mainly constitutes Meretrix meretrix, Katelysia opima ,
Paphia laterisulea and it support for 8 to 10 months As
fishing methods are simple and with least risk, women and
school children are involved in clam collection and sale.
Clams are not collected by gredging .It has ensured
continuos and sustainable source, however duriing lean
period of open sea fishery, they are collected indiscriately.
Due to better price, small sized clams are collected and
utilized. It is hampering future stock of clams. Biochemical
study revealed that protein to total glycogen ratio is better
which states its nutritive value. The study has thrown light
on management concern. Few recommendations have been
made for the judicious exploitation, regulationoffishingand
conservation of clam resource to ensure sustainable clam
fishery in Bhatye estuary.
