In this presentation, Roni explains the basics of Kanban and the principles governing the application of Kanban for process improvement. We also look at a comparison between Scrum and Kanban and visit the basic differences between them.
It includes pointers telling what’s wrong with the current system, history of Kanban, introduction to Kanban, benefits of using Kanban, practices used in Kanban, principles of Kanban, how is Scrum different from Kanban. The tutorial begins with details about the current system and what’s wrong with it. It includes pointers like burnout, low throughput, unidentified bottlenecks, too much work which tell what’s wrong with the current system.
Followed by is a section about the history of Kanban which includes points like how the name originated, who discovered it, design, visual signals, based on which system. Resulting in an introduction section which talks about Kanban, what method it uses, scheduling system, what it consists of, amount of work, identification etc. Next comes the benefits section which includes the benefits of using Kanban like helps in visualizing the system, allows to evaluate, identify bottlenecks, establish trust in process etc.
Afterwards there is a section about Kanban practices. It includes practices used in Kanban like visualize, limit WIP in each phase of development, managing flow by keeping it under monitor, make policies explicit, improve collaboratively through the use of scientific models and some terms like lead time, cycle time, throughput etc. Moreover, it also includes the board for easy visualization, story card for keeping track, charts for measurement, control charts to measure average time taken for each task, cumulative flow diagrams showing relative amount of work.
Then comes the principles of Kanban. It includes principles which should be used in Kanban like agree to pursue incremental, evolutionary change, optimize what already exists, respect the current process, roles, responsibilities, leadership at all levels to empower the workforce to bring about change. The last section of this tutorial is Scrum vs Kanban. It explains how scrum is different from Kanban by giving pointers like Scrum prescribes roles, time boxed iterations, backlog items must fit, limit WIP in a different way. It also includes pointers giving reason why it shouldn’t matter because emphasis should be on the goal and not the tool.

For the project selected in Unit I, create a simple project team development plan. Your plan should follow the process for developing and managing a team, as referred to in Figures 6.1 and 6.2 in the textbook. Your plan should include an introduction and should answer the following questions:
1. What human resource tools will you draw upon in the overall development and management of the project team?
2. What approach will you take to kick off the project team?
3. What ground rules will you establish for team meetings and interaction?
4. What specific ways will you demonstrate emotional intelligence in the development of the project team?
5. What methods will you employ to resolve conflict throughout the stages of team development?
6. What will be the conflict sources within the team development process?
7. How will you set and measure goals and reward achievement?
Compile the team development plan that addresses the questions above. Feel free to use a table to summarize your policy and approach. (As one example, refer to Table 6.2 in the textbook).
Submit your team development plan in the form of a minimum two-page document. Adhere to APA Style when constructing this assignment, including in-text citations and references for all sources that are used. Please note that no abstract is needed.

Welcome to Unit III. In this unit, we focus on the project management phase of initiating. The initiation phase
is essential because it is here that the vision is established for what will be accomplished. If you recall from
Unit I, we explored how projects are aligned to the strategic objectives and goals of the organization. During
the initiation phase, business benefits from the project are discovered. Based on the business benefits that
the project may be able to deliver, the project stakeholders will determine if the time, money, and risk of the
project are worth the potential benefits or the return on investment (ROI). The stakeholders are important
throughout the entire project, but they are especially important in the initiation phase. The stakeholders play a
pivotal role in ensuring that the project scope and end results are aligned with the strategic objectives of the
organization. If this task is not completed, the company will have projects being completed that have no real
goal and are not tied to the strategic goals. This would mean a loss in ROI. Let’s explore the other key tasks

The question, what are the key points managers must keep vividly in their minds while communicating with their teams and suggestions to improve communication to make leadership more effective is a topic of discussion in every organization. Effective and accurate communication act as an essential factor to grow an efficient and successful leader or manager. To accomplish professional success, managers must be active and convincing communicators. It is very vital for managers and his team to learn how to communicate effectively and to aid in successfully completing projects and enable the organization to achieve success and grow. As if that is not enough, communication allows every employee to share what they have and give their opinions. Good communication yields better understanding and trust among people, empower them to follow core principles and values that their leaders want to inculcate in them (Armstrong & Michael, 2016). Lack or absence of excellent communication leads to failure to reach goals and the overall decline of the organization. Interacting with the team freely, a manager will increase the potential of having the work done in time. Good leaders are always aware that effective communication is obtained through just a single process. It is through listening and speaking that managers are said to have good communication. Managers should hence set aside objective that they must achieve after communicating.
