Over 5 weeks, the student went through the process of creating a music video. In week 1, they developed 3 initial ideas and chose one based on feasibility. In week 2, they researched other music videos for inspiration. In week 3, they finalized their concept of recreating the "Heart to Break" music video. In week 4, they created pre-production materials like a shot list and storyboard. Finally, in week 5 they filmed and edited the video, adding color correction before completing their evaluation.

2. Process – week 1
• In the first week of production
I used a lot of my time working
on fleshing out the 3 main
ideas that I could use for my
music video. My final video
idea was chosen based on
feasibility and room for
creative film work.
• I also created a mind-map of all
the different options I could’ve
used for my music video,
detailing the different lighting
that would be necessary,
costume, choreography etc.

3. Process – week 2
• For this week of the
production we conducted
research on different videos
we could use for inspiration for
our own products as well as
look for different guides on the
basics of making a music video
to use as a baseline for when it
comes to filming the music
video itself and what ideas you
should and shouldn't use.
• One of the products I used was
the official music video to get a
better understanding of Kim's
style both visually and
structurally

4. Process – week 3
For the 3rd week of production I
finalised my idea and wrote up a final
project concept that I could use for
my music video. After debating
whether my other ideas would work
from the first week of production, I
found that my first idea based on
SOPHIE's 'Faceshopping' was not very
feasible despite being a unique and
intriguing concept. My other two
options were between Kim Petra's
'Heart to Break' and Jakob Ogawa's
'You Might Be Sleeping'. I ultimately
decided on Heart to Break as the
concept is a lot more feasible and
requires less reliance on other people
(which was advised against in earlier
weeks)

5. Process – week 4
For week 4 I worked
primarly on the pre-
production aspects of the
music video itself, making a
structural breakdown of
the song, each verse,
bridge & chorus and how it
would be shot and what
action would appear on
screen. I also made a shot
list as well as a brief
storyboard for the music
video as well that I used
when filming the video
finally

6. Process – week 5
For the final week, I
entered post production
after filming the music
video and spent a lot of
my time editing the
sequences together,
making sure the audio
track was synced up to
the video clips
themselves, then doing
some color correction to
make the final product
that bit more vibrant. I
also worked on finishing
my evaluation as well
along with some peer
feedback.
