STAGE 5
PRODUCTION
REFLECTIONS
Your Name
 This proforma is to record how you worked on your production
 You should complete this each week during production
 Consider all relevant areas that you covered that week
 Think about what worked/what didn’t work/how you can improve
and actions for the following sessions/weeks
 In the first week we did our initial plans
and experiments. So for the initial plan I
think of at least three ideas for a short 60
second film, which couldn’t have any
dialog apart from “that wasn’t supposed to
happen” and it also had to include the
time. Once I thought of three ideas I had
to pick the best one, and once I did that, I
had to explain further about what the film
was about. For my first experiment I had
to make my own audio for a Shaun of the
dead scene, so for instance I recorded my
footsteps and I recorded myself opening a
fridge. Once I had all the audio clips I
needed, I imported them to premier pro
where the Shaun of the dead clip was, I
then placed the audio clips in the right
places.
 For this week I did my audience
research. To complete my audience
research I had to do primary and
secondary research. For the
primary research I created a
survey, and for the secondary
research I went on a site called
IMDB to collect reviews from
movies similar to mine.
 On week three I did my planning for
the film. So I had to make a story
board, a short list, a risk assessment,
a mood board and what music and
sound effects I will use. I also had to
book equipment for filming.
 Week four was the week of filming and editing, so I had to collect the
equipment I booked and head to my filming location. When filming I
would always look back at my shot list, to remind of what short was
next, and so I didn’t film too much or too less. As soon as I finished
filming, I went straight to editing, I downloaded all the clips I filmed on
my computer, and then imported the best clips to premier pro, after
that I placed and trimmed the clips. I then began adding music, sound
effects and effects to the film. And finally I change the brightness and
colour. Editing didn’t come without its problems, as while I was editing
I noticed the tripod was slightly showing in one of the clips, so I
cropped the image to get rid of it.
 The final week, I had to do my evaluation. In the
evaluation I reviewed everything I did to plan
my film, as well as compare my work to other
existing products, I compared camera angles,
editing and sound effects. I also got some peer
feedback from three people, and they told me
what they thought of my product.
