Music Video Evaluation
Tasks – what youdidin the tasks – whatyou coulddo to make itbetter
Firstly,we hadto domusic videoanalysisfortaskone where we chose 5 musicvideosof ourchoice
that we had to watchand thenwrite about.To make my video analysisbetterIshould’vedone one
more as I onlydid4 but forthe writingI feltIwrote quite a bitfor eachsectionwhilstIanalysedthe
video.We alsohadto write a purposessheetforone of the musicvideoswhichwe hadto explain
and give examplesforineachsection.
For task 2 we had to domultiple things forourmusicvideoideasgenerationwherewe basicallyjust
put downdifferentideasthatwe coulddowithourmusicvideo.Tomake my ideasgeneration
betterI should’vedone amoodboard and thoughtabout more ideasIcould’ve done formymusic
video.
In task3 we had to talkabout musicvideoproductionwherewe lookedatjobrolesand
responsibilitiesinafilmworkplace andwe had to sort outa kitbudgetsheet where we lookedata
simple kitwe wouldhave hadtouse whenmakinga musicvideo,itincludedthingslike cameras,
lighting,sound,etc.Toimprove thistaskIcouldhave lookedatmore jobsand more kit to lookat
and write about.
In task4 it wasmainlyaboutpre-productionforouractual musicvideo,we hadtodo multiple things
for thistask.In our groupwe had setwork we had todo individuallylike the scripts,location
reconnaissance,riskassessments,productioncall sheetsandproductionschedules.We worked
togetheronour storyboardsbecause forourmusicvideoitwas quite long. One of the thingsIthink
we couldhave improvedonisthat we couldhave maybe addedmore informationintoeachwork
sheetandthat I finishedmyscripttoaddin eventhoughwe didn’tuse itinthe end.
In task5 it wasmainlydoinga photodiarywhichI producedmyself,we hadtoput togethermultiple
photosof our team workingtogetherwhilstfilmingtoprove we all were presentandtoshow us
filming.Toimprove the photodiaryIthinkIcouldhave wrote more for each photoset.
For task 6 we had to produce a rough and final editof ourmusicvideothenexplainhow we could
have improvedinourrougheditthat we may addintoour final edit. Forthistask I couldof improve
greatlyby doinga rough editof my musicvideoandwritingaboutthe improvementsIwouldhave
made whichI didn’tdo,I shouldhave alsofinishedmyfinal editontime andtalkedaboutthatalsoin
that task.
