In this paper I have given a simple procedure for noting down of data from different
sources for any research/dissertation work. Collecting data and arranging the same is not so
easy. To understand the easiest process it needs a lot of time. So I have written in this paper
regarding the procedure to proceed towards the noting down of data. It will help in
rearranging and finding data easily.
There are mainly two types of data present. One is Qualitative data and the other one
is Quantitative data.
A. To collect Qualitative data (something related to name, description etc.) follow the
following procedure (primary & secondary data):
1. See what type of data name these are.
2. If it is possible to differentiate the genre/class then do it;
3. In notepad divide the pages alphabetically i.e. A, B, C …
4. Write every class name in every already divided page.
5. Start putting down the names accordingly and at the same time note down as much
information as possible.
6. Now start sorting out.
B. To collect Quantitative data (statistical information or numeric data):
For primary data:
1. Prepare a table with heading.
2. Put the label.
3. Note down data.
4. Check them again.
For secondary data:
1. Read data published by any authorised and certified company.
2. Prepare a table with heading.
3. Put the label.
4. Note down data.
5. Check them again.
