The physical features in the classroom must be
located in the areas where the contents could be
viewed well and be made available for use.
Well-arranged, they make the room look spacious
and orderly.
Furniture like:
• Tables for demonstrations must be located in front
of the room.
• Chairs facing the tables are neatly arranged with
sufficient spaces in-between for ease in moving
around.
• Display shelves for safekeeping of projects,
collections, and outstanding outwork are located at
the sides.
• Attached to the wall is the bulletin board for
hanging posters, announcements and illustrations
about the unit being undertaken.
• White board in front is used for clarifying step-by-
step procedures and making clearer diagrams
illustrations and figures

A physical environment that is clean, orderly,
well-ventilated, well-lighted, spacious that
allow movements, and free from unnecessary
distractor is conducive to learning
The teacher should schedule who is
responsible for their neatness on a regular
basis.
Used instructional materials and devices must
be returned to their places.
Always erase the board after use it.

The clear enthusiastic voice of the
teacher that elicits equally eager and
keen responses from the students
helps create a conducive and beneficial
ambiance for learning.
Positive mood set by both could keep
the activities lively and flawless.
A methodological way of implementing
procedures is the best assurance that
the objectives of the lesson will be
achieved.
CLASSROOM PROCEEDING
INTERACTIONS
INTERACTIONS
Students may differ in abilities and interests
while teachers likely deploy different
strategies.
Teachers must be sensitive to positive and
negative interactions and must immediately
undertake an instant revision or adjustment in
the ,methodology when necessary.
The primary goal is to be able to motivate
them to work harmoniously, thereafter,
inculcate the values of cooperation and
congeniality

Unit II-Chapter 1
➜ PRINCIPLES OF
LEARNING
P R I N C I P L E S O F L E A R N I N G
1. Learning is an
experience which
occurs inside the
learner and is
activated by the
learner.
24
• The process of learning is
primarily controlled by the
learner and not by the
teacher.
• People learn what they want to
learn, they see what they want to
see, and hear what they want to
hear.
P R I N C I P L E S O F L E A R N I N G
2. Learning is the
discovery of the personal
meaning and relevance
of ideas.
25
• Learning is a process which
requires the exploration of
ideas in relation to self and
community so that people can
determine what there needs
are.
• Students more readily
internalize and implement
concepts and ideas which are
relevant to their needs and
problems
3. Learning (behavioral
change) is a
consequence of
experience
PRINCIPLES OF LEARNING
• We have not to experience
everything in order to learn. We
learn from other people’s
experiences, too, good as well as
not so good experiences.
4. Learning is a
cooperative and
collaborative
process.
PRINCIPLES OF LEARNING
“Two heads is better
than one.”
PRINCIPLES OF LEARNING
Behavioral change requires time and
patience. Things that are worthwhile in life
take time.
6. Learning is
sometimes a painful
process
PRINCIPLES OF LEARNING
This principle states that an individual could
learn by undergoing a painful process; hence
“no pain, no gain”
Behavioral change often calls of giving up
the old and comfortable ways of believing,
thinking, and valuing.
Learning is accompanied by sacrifice,
inconvenience and discomfort but it leads to
inner joy.
P R I N C I P L E S O F L E A R N I N G
One of the
richest
resources for
learning is the
learner
himself.
30
As a teacher, you must draw these
learners’ ideas, feelings and experiences,
you midwife the birth of ideas.
8. The process of
learning is emotional
as well as intellectual.
PRINCIPLES OF LEARNING
Learners can't learn that much if they
have something that is bothering
their minds.
People are feeling beings as well as
thinking beings and when their feelings
and thoughts are in harmony learning is
maximized.
The process of
problem solving and
learning are highly
unique and individual.
32
P R I N C I P L E S O F L E A R N I N G
As people become more aware of
how they learn and solve problems
and become exposed to alternative
models used by other people.

Thanks!
