Home Energy Conservation
Home Energy Conservation So you think the cost of gas is outrageous? Most Americans do. The
controversies in the Middle East and recent environmental disasters have made the cost of many
natural resources, like oil, sky rocket. So imagine the amount of oil needed to power your car and
compare that to the amount of oil needed to heat your home. Home energy conservation is a way that
Americans can counter act the estimated high costs to heat, cool or light their residence. In the old
days energy conservation was as simple turning off a light when you left a room, or setting a timer on
your thermostat to regulate when your heat or air conditioning came on. These techniques are still
valuable but America, and the world, has taken a more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More effective response to the challenges of increasing complexity in NRM requires a shift in
thinking from the linearity of research extension farmer to alternative, multiple actor institutional
arrangements and innovation systems. To overcome the weak attribution of research outcomes to
actual impact, it also suggests an alternative to conventional impact assessment in natural resource
management interventions. (Environment, 2007) Economic Issues Geothermal energy uses the natural
heat beneath the earth s surface. In home and commercial installations geothermal systems can
provide effective heating and cooling abilities. The system relies on the average 50 degree temperature
of the earth s soil below the frost line. The depth of this temperature is usually found at about 6 to 10
feet below the surface. The system provides both heating and cooling abilities by transferring heat
energy through water exchange. Water filled coils are buried at a specified depth in the soil (Hefler,
2007). Depending upon whether heating or cooling is needed the system either absorbs heat from the
earth or dissipates heat into the soil via the water filled tubes. Advantages of Geothermal Energy
Production There are some key advantages to geothermal energy production. One advantage is that a
single system can provide both heating

Diction In Zora Neale Hurston
In the opening sentence of the story Hurston s writes, It was eleven o clock of a Spring night in
Florida. It was Sunday (Hurston, 73). The beginning signifies correct English grammar and proper
sentence structure, but in seamless Zora Neale Hurston s fashion, the dialogue from the protagonist
Delia Jones reads in broken incorrect syntax, Sykes, you quit grindin dirt into these clothes! How can
Ah git through by Sat day if Ah don t start on Sunday (74)? In her short stories Hurston s diction is
elevated with the usage of morphology with the constant exchange of word formation with infixes,
affixes and the combining of word choices. Hurston s choice of diction offered a rhymical affect that
adds a melodious tone to her writing shaped by the Harlem Renaissance period. As noted in the, The
Florida Historical Quarterly Hurston blended narrator and protagonist through language (Haskin, 207)
Her writing style aid in the management of mood, tone, character depiction, movement, and
atmosphere in storytelling procedures. In the commencement of her stories, the storyteller, is
communicating in standard English, the third party narrative speaks as a representative for the
character waiting to find his or her voice. As the character(s) discoveries their voice, they sway the
narrator, and in the conclusion the narrator and central character are speaking for each other, using
equally poetic, participating language (207).
For illustration, in the story, The Back Room, Hurston

Analysis Of The Precession Of Simulacra
Introduction
Lee Harvey Oswald. The name may conjure up specific memories of a living, breathing man for those
who knew him; but, for the general public, Lee Harvey Oswald was and will always be a scarecrow of
patched together media images and texts. This is due to the fact that our only access to Oswald is
through texts. To quote Lentricchia, Oswald is a person of, by, and for the image (2). Image, here, can
be understood as any textual representation of Oswald. In Libra, DeLillo goes even further by
portraying the living Oswald as a fragmented figure whose identity is already a pastiche of texts and
images that he has consumed. In his landmark essay, The Precession of Simulacra, Baudrillard warns
that [s]imulation is no longer that of a territory, a referential being, or a substance. It is the generation
by models of a real without origin or reality: a hyperreal (par. 1). Through his consumption of texts,
Oswald constructs an identity without substance or reality: a hyperreal identity. Baudrillard cites a
Borges tale about a ruler who commissions a map the same size as his territory. After the empire falls,
the remnants of the map are still rotting away in the deserts. He believes that this story is helpful in
describing what he means by the precession of simulacra, and he alters the story, saying, The territory
no longer precedes the map, nor does it survive it. It is the real, and not the map, whose vestiges
persist here and there in the deserts (par. 1).

A lack of objective data on which to assess talent can result in an over reliance on personal viewpoints
which does not always result in the best talent being acquired (Onetest, 2007, para 2). A review and
acceptance process will follow were the candidate is studied further and ultimately chosen or not
chosen for continuation. If chosen the candidate is than placed on a development path to prepare him
or her for future roles in the organization. The first step toward development in the Common Grounds
organization is to assign a mentor. Having a mentor will help the candidate gain insight into internal
operations from a seasoned veteran employee. A seasoned employee can enhance the development
process because he or she is aware of and operates within the organization s cultural parameters and
has had proven success. Having a mentor also helps the candidates learn how to build and maintain
relationships. According to Ferrell, Fraedrich and Ferrell (2011), developing and maintaining
relationships is an essential aspect of business. The next step is to attend workshops that offer
exposure and solution training to real world situations. Finally, special projects are given to ascertain
the development of the candidate by their ability to apply their knowledge in a practical setting.

A food stylist prepares the frozen beef patties for the camera. The filming crew first spends two hours
setting up lights that will flatter the burger. The stylist begins burning flame broiling stripes into the
hamburger patties by using a special branding iron. The stylist then paints the stripes with a dark steak
sauce. Next, the stylist sprinkles salt on the burger so that when it passes over the flames, natural
juices will rise to the meat s surface.(Par.2)
Once branded, retouched, and juiced, the director films the burgers from different angles as they move
along a conveyor belt broiler. When the meat is broiled, blood rises to the surface in small pools. The
stylist dabs at the bubbling blood with a Q tip so that is doesn t look undesirable to TV viewers.
(Par.3)
Before the patty passes over the flame a second time, the stylist maneuvers a small electric heater
about an inch above the burger. This heats up the natural fatty juices until they begin to steam and
sizzle. Otherwise, puddles of grease will cover the meat. (Par.4)

Wild Lands Policy Summary
Will new government policies that designate areas as Wild Lands hurt local economies? According to
the first article or testimony I read which was titled Testimony before the House Natural Resources
Committee Hearing on The Impact of the Administration s Wild Lands Order on Jobs and Economic
Growth by Mike Lee, Yes. He not only believes that it will hurt local economies but that it is illegal.
He states that under the U.S. Constitution, Congress has the sole authority to regulate federal lands.
For public lands, Congress delegates that authority to the Interior Secretary in a series of federal laws,
including the Bureau of Land Management Organic Act or the Federal Land Policy and Management
Act (FLPMA). For wilderness designation, Congress ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This article talks about the Wilderness Act that was passed in 1964, the enactment of the Federal Land
Policy and Management Act (FLPMA) in 1976, and the Wild Lands Policy in 2010. She discusses the
history of these acts and policies. The article describes how these acts and policies passed and the
different litigation that came from them. The Wild Lands Policy is described in detail in section V. The
article first describes the three ways the new Wild Lands Policy was to work. The first way was it
affirmed that the agency should consider wilderness values as an integral component of its multiple
use mission, identifying lands with wilderness characteristics (LWC) in its mandatory section 201
inventories. Second, the Policy directed BLM to use its section 202 land use planning authority to
consider designating appropriate LWC as Wild Lands, that is, lands that the agency would protect in
amended RMPs by avoiding impairment to their wilderness characteristics. Third, for project level
decisions in areas not yet inventoried under the new framework, the Policy instructed BLM to
inventory apparent wilderness characteristics, and then discuss the proposed project s effects to them
as well as measures to minimize those effects in a NEPA analysis. (Brumfield, v.44, I1) The article
then describes each area in its own section, section A is Inventory, section B is Land Use Planning,
and section C is Project Level Decisions. In section VI the Death and Afterlife of the Wild Lands
Policy is discussed in detail. She talks about how the policy sparked immediate protest and legal
challenges. In April 2011 the opposition to the Wild Lands Policy took full effect. There was a
congressional rider put into place that prohibited the use of funds to implement the policy. Then

South Afric A Country Of The Country
Many years ago, Africa grew several powers from the control of European countries. The Western
countries send emissaries to explore and establish trade with native, but in that case same other attract
on working people having come there to work and live and to government the country when they
need. The word imperializem in my attention came as a domination by one country of the political,
economic or cultural life of another country. We have to be clear with what happened in Africa and the
region which represents a great rich country for materials and get attention of many European country
for goods and wealth potential. Europian estabilished colonies in the African coastal region became
more aggresive later on once they were expanding into other lands. We can see that in the names
Africa s countries have under the colony. For example, the Belgian Congo instead of The Congo,
Anglo Egypyian Sudan istead of Sudan, or German Southwest Africa Namibia insted of Namibi.
Those countries have both Europian and African names which means that they belong and under
which power rule they are. However, The African countries nowadays tried to take way the kind of
patterns they have, but the Congo, Cameroon and Central African Republic are still suffering from the
legacies of western imperialism. The Congo has a very interesting story behind it. The King of
Belgium was given the Congo during the Berlin Conference. He used the Congo as a storage place for
many of his possesions. This

internal and external conflicts with themselves and all other obstacles they must face. Four main
characters lead the protagonist on his own life journey, where he mustn t conform to societies idea of
him and how he should be. The characters are architectures of their time while our hero is ahead of

completed. Ninety participants completed our survey at no cost and consisted of family members,
friends, acquaintances, and coworkers of all team members in our group. When exporting the data, we
had to exclude ten participants due to missing data and also because they took less than two minutes to
finish our survey where this data would have inconsistent results in our data as a whole. Our final
sample consisted of 80 participants. Our participants were recruited by e mail, social media, and
anonymous text links. The mean average was 28.3 years, with a standard deviation of 10.2 (range of

Migration from Sudan into the United States Essay
Migration from Sudan into the United States In recent years the US has experienced a large influx of
migration. Immigrants come from many different countries, races, religions and for many different
reasons. One group of immigrants that received national attention is a group from Sudan that has been
called The Lost Boys . The reason behind the national attention is due to the dramatic circumstances
that brought them to America. To understand these circumstances it is important to understand their
history. Sudan is the largest country in Africa. It is between two powerful cultural regions, the Islamic
north and the Christian south. Africa has more than 400 languages and dialects. There are 597

This Law seriously violated the 1972 peace agreement, forcing the south to adopt Arab culture,
language and the religion of Islam. The Nimeiry government was strengthening Sudan s ties to Egypt
and Saudi Arabia, as economic hardships drew it away from the Soviet Union and closer to western
nations. During the 1980 s, strikes, riots and shortages of goods and services had devastated the
nation. The discovery of natural resources, such as minerals and petroleum that were discovered in the
south added to the problem. Although the discovery of natural reserves should have helped Sudan s
economic situation, it became another source of conflict between the north and the south over who
would control it. The southern forces backed indirectly by the Soviet Union through Ethiopia
reorganized into the Sudan Peoples Liberation Army and rose up against the North. At this point in the
civil unrest, the war took on a religious aspect, fueled by Nimeiry s implementation of the Sharia,
which is Islamic law. In 1986 a coup forced Nimeiry out of power and he was replaced by a coalition
of northern political parties. On 1989 a northern coalition was overthrown by General Omar al Bashir

The Monkeys Paw Character Analysis
Zikera Newsome

03/07/17 The Monkeys Paw The Monkeys Paw by W.W Jacobs. This novel is taking place inside and
around the White family home, called Laburnum Villa. The novel is probably set around the time it
were to be published; in 1902.The author manipulate time by going slow. The setting changes but it
does not affect how the characters are in the novel. As the story progresses, the house becomes
progressively darker and spookier. He uses the horror genre to talk about some very serious issues.

Sgt. Maj. Morris wanted to make three wishes because only three men could use it and the fakir was
the man who put a spell on the paw but it also is a curse. The character I relate to the most is Mr.
White because he is trying to protect the paw and people from it. Inside of the story is Man vs. Man
because Mr. White is making a decision to make a wish or let three other men make the wishes their
selves. Internal because man vs. man is inside decision he is having with himself. The first thing that
happened in the story that changed it was that Mr. White gave the paw away for a trifle, second thing
was that Mr. White came in with two hundred pound of British money, and the third thing was a man
getting hurt in the second scene. A mystery is the outcome of the man disappearing without anyone
knowing what happened. The monkeys paw is the central idea of the story and everything is around

Speech On Blood Donation
The Gift of Life You re always somebody s type. Maybe not in the sense of finding love, but at least in
donating blood. When individuals are asked why they donate blood, their response is simple, it is
heartwarming as well as a rewarding feeling. Individuals can donate at blood drives and
hospitals.Donors can either walk in or schedule an appointment. Donating blood is not easy for some
people, especially if it is the first time, they may not know what to expect and they may be nervous. It
is phlebotomist or employee at the blood donation center job to make the person feel welcome and
help them overcome any fears they may have.We need as many donors as we can get to try and reach
our number for how many pints of blood are required. Although we have blood banks like Bonfils;
which is one of many locations Colorado has for a bigger supply of blood to help us out in case of an
emergency. We simply would not have enough blood for the affected victims because we are short on
blood donations; supply and demand for donation are too high; diagnoses and transportation of blood
would take too long.
As we begin, although we are thousands of pints short on blood, we would not be able to help large
number of victims in a big emergency, through more blood donations. If we were in need of lots of
blood we would have lots of donors lining up outside blood donor locations to help the cause. For
example, the Las Vegas shooting massacre. Fifty nine people were confirmed dead and more than

Political Criticism Of Dracula
The interpretation of Stoker s vampire novel can be made from a political perspective. Stoker novel is
in respond to the political threat represented by the monster dracula. Stoker paints the character of
dracula to bring out the features of a colonizer who is yearning to spread his power and authority
beyond his home territory (England) with the objective of controlling other domains. Certainly, it
could be said that his his control of his own castle is waning fast. It is for this reason It should be
understood that colonization and the associated threats were the order of the day even in to the close
of the 19th centuary. To prove his power and control, the count controls all the places he inhabits or

Though not shown in a straightforward way, the interconnectedness of these themes can be traced to
illustrate how the theme of rebellion is developed. This novel was published during an era when
women were suppressed and the community was struggling with other social problems like
homosexuality. Interestingly, Britain was at a phase when vigorous social changes were at their peak.
In the light of these vigorous changes, homosexuals could not help but express their sexual frustration.
In his novel, Stoker s presentation of the new woman , who is sexually active, powerful and
dominating, mocks the female suppression in that era. This indicates rebellion. Conclusively, the
homosexual symbolism presented in the novel could be considered as a way for Stoker to relieve the
guilt of his inability to help a dear friend, Oscar Wilde. Many hidden incidents of rebellion were
presented in this novel. It is with the help of a critical mindset that one may discern many instances of
rebellion in characters in the novel and in the author as

The Inequality Of Women s Leadership
The Inequality of Women in Leadership Throughout history, the United States have overcome a
number of inequalities and discovered our many freedoms. In the modern age we now live, every
individual should have equal rights. Theoretically we do, but technically there are still areas of
inequality, specifically in business management. Women are facing difficulties in advancing to
leadership positions within most fields, especially in Fortune 500 companies. Female leaders
continually face difficulties both when inquiring decision making positions as well as while in
leadership roles. By combining research I ve come across in leadership, gender roles, stereotyping and

Chemers perceived that there are three theoretical explanations for the main differences between male
and female leadership. One difference, the most obvious, is biological differences, which is based
around hormones and temperament. The second difference is culturally diversities. This tells that
socialized roles are varied per culture. The final difference is structurally determined. The different
sexs have very diverse organizational structures (Eagly, Makhijani, Klonsky, 1992; Chemers, 2000).
Placing practical differences aside, the essential problem with women leadership roles is actually seen
in the attitudes of those around them. The attitudes people have towards women when they are the
ones making decisions are a perception with no objectivity, formally known as a stereotype.
Stereotyping is one of the main obstacles women endure in their leadership positions. Gender Role
Theory is the development of expectations people create of their own and others behavior based on the
beliefs about what is appropriate for both male and females. For example, if a female were to pull out
a man s chair at a restaurant before seating herself or open his car door before getting in the car, that
would be found as odd behavior for a women.

The Reduction Of Weight Of Heavy Vehicles
Introduction
The need for reduction in weight of heavy vehicles is increasing day after day. Reduction of weight
results in reduced fuel consumption which results in a decrease in the emission of greenhouse gas. For
reducing the weight, higher strength to weight ratio steels would be required. Not only is a high
strength, but the steel also requires to be adequately formable and greater energy absorption capacity.
Good formability is essential for designing vehicle components with complex shapes. Dual phase
(DP) steels are quite promising material for these purposes. DP steels can already achieve strength in
the range of 500 1200 MPa with a total elongation of 15 25 %. Dual phase steels contain more than
1% alloying element among which major alloying elements are C, Si, Mn, and there are some other
alloying elements also.
Among different grades of Dual phase steels, the primary concern here is DP600 steels. A general
chemical composition of DP 600 steel is tabulated in Table 1 below.

Elizabeth I, Monarch Of England, And Marie De L ...
Elizabeth I, monarch of England, and Marie de l Incarnation, a French nun, both invoked God and
other forms of religious power to stake their claims to authority. Elizabeth s role as a queen came at a
time when her country was going through political turmoil. Marie s role as a missionary in New
France was to civilize the indigenous people. Although working to better their countries, both of these
writers are vastly different due to their social positions. While Elizabeth had the substantial task of
ruling over her country, Marie was serving her country as a missionary; however, both writers utilize
religion to accomplish their various duties.
Marie utilized her understanding of religion and the Native s understanding of religion to build a
relationship built on trust. She arrived in modern day Quebec in the late 1630 s as a missionary from
her country to educate and civilize the Natives there to match European traditions. Marie found
similarities with the indigenous people as even though they didn t have a God, they had their own
forms of worship. In Letter 65 to her son, she answers his questions regarding the Savages beliefs on
divinity. Certain ones adored the sun and offered its sacrifices. Others had recourse to certain spirits
who they said provided over the woods but all obeyed their dreams as a divinity (Marie, 368). Even
though the Natives did not have any exposure to the True God before they met the Europeans, they
still believed in some sort of higher

Mobility In The Great Gatsby
ble job, and upward mobility.
The American Dream is present in the Great Gatsby with James Gatz s own version of the American
Dream which was to have Daisy Buchanan by his side as Jay Gatsby. Gatsby became wealthy with a
bootlegging business and meeting social mobility by throwing extravagant parties. In his book, The
Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald emphasizes that Gatsby was well known by the parties he threw.

Nineteen Eighty Four Essay
Individual power is the control held within the hierarchy of ascendancy over others. Although it does
take into account the ability to have command over one s self, with regard to the freedom of influence
and authority. In George Orwell s didactic Nineteen Eighty Four¸ the autonomy of the individual is
suppressed. His dystopic, totalitarian society depicts a world where the supremacy of the corporation
is maintained through the deprivation of self expression and the ever present threat of violent
coercion. The Party aims to achieve a social order that consists of no relationships, no desire, no art,
no literature, no science in order that ultimately no enjoyment in the process of life be found. This
ensures a civilisation where the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Highlighting the authority Winston obtains from the sexual relationship with Julia, due to his mental
separation from the tyranny of the party. Winston as a result, temporarily gives into his human
instinctive desires and satisfies his yearning for individual power. In Michael Moore s and Rage
Against the machines political music video Testify, the message regarding the conflict of power
between the individual and the corporation is conversely different to that of Nineteen Eighty Four. The
entity is now in control and this ideology is displayed through the videos empowering low angle shots
of individuals raising their left hands in order to testify against the authority of the government. But
this shot of individuals collaborating, ultimately emerges into a collaboration of thousands of people.
Reiterating the power of the singular human being, as the change of mindset of one in many can create
large masses, and numbers is power. Zach De La Rocha (the vocalist) pin points what he believes to

Park And Recreation Workers Policy Analysis
Introduction
There are many workers in the nation, many of whom are working in the public sector amongst
various specialties, though whether they are a productive worker or are motivated enough to be an
effective worker is of question. The policy in mention aims to provide possible solutions to
incentivizing workers to increase their productivity, as well as their wellness during the job and in
their personal life. The policy will affect those already working and those who are seeking public jobs,
for, in the United States, there are approximately 22 million public workers in the nation . On the other
hand, the policy will affect tax payers who vote on how to spend their tax dollars. Another key to the
policy is allowing the organization to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A family friendly organization allows leniency to those with their families and the problems that arise
from a family, but also allow flexibility in the workplace. An instance of why autonomy is left to the
individual agency to come up with a solution that fits their needs, is the fact that not all solutions
work. In Public Administration Review, Lee and Hong (2011), suggest that a childcare subsidy
program, is incredibly beneficial to reducing turnover and increasing agency performance, yet other
methods weren t as meaningful . The study also highlights some other alternatives that are just as
beneficial, such as adjusting work schedules, paid family time, and working from home. All
possibilities that fall within the policy in question, thus all valid suggestions that can be implemented
on an agency by agency basis. There are agencies that cannot use some possibilities, such as Fire,
Medical, and or Law Enforcement, for they can t work at home, nor can they adjust their schedules

Why Design Can Not Remain Exclusive The Writers
Since the NSFNet was decommissioned in the early 1990 s and restrictions on commercial traffic was
removed, (Costello,2016) we have seen the individual empowered to a point where they can compete
with the tradition, media, retail and content outlets.(Abel, 2011) Right now, with social networks and
other tools on the Internet, all of these 500 million people have a way to say what they re thinking and
have their voice be heard. (Heussner, 2016) With this technological advancement, the individual has
been emancipated from total reliance on the publishers, record labels and retailers. Any individual
with access to the internet, can share their work and has the opportunity to create a stir within an
industry. In Open Design Now: Why ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the book Open Design Now: Why Design Cannot Remain Exclusive, Open design is defined as,
distributed manufacturing processes that emphasise the use related capabilities of openness . (Van
Abel, Evers, and Klaassen, 2014) Through information technology, digital manufacturing uses a
network of collaborative facilities that enable manufacturing to be sourced locally. We no longer have
to be restricted to using a single factory or distributor (Liu, Wang, and Wei, 2009). This method
compared to traditional low cost labour options, is more economically sound. In an Article, The Rise
of Distributed Manufacturing and 7 advantages over Traditional Manufacturing (Robinson,2014),
writer Adam Robinson gives two examples of an imaginary company that goes through the traditional
means of manufacturing and distributed manufacturing. In the traditional example a company must
source cheap labourers for the production of their product. when the product is made they are sent via
shipping containers, emitting fuels and taking additional time from the transportation process. If the
product were to undergo a distributed manufacturing process then the company would locally source
experts, there would be a higher labour cost for the design process but the additional costs would be
proportionate to the time and expense saved in the transport costs involved in the Traditional method.
(Robinson,2014) So what does the open in Open design mean?

Issues Of The Modeling Industry
Issues in the Modeling Industry Fashion is everything to society and the media, but everyone wants to
look good while feeling beautiful in their own way. Everyone believes that fashion is an easy,
fashionable, and sophisticated style. Today, the modeling industry has become negative for older and
younger women. The people in the industry do not prefer unhealthy body images such as pictures of
overweight women. Women suffer from depression and anxiety. The modeling industry has been very
harmful towards women in America. It effects women by not achieving a healthy, being strong, and
confident body image regardless of shape and size.
Having a skinny body is very important in the modeling industry. Bigger women always get turned
down. This makes them feel unhealthy and not as beautiful as the other women that are modeling. The
hard part for models is to keep their weight down to a certain number, otherwise, they are not allowed
to model anymore. Today, in America many women are suffering from eating disorders, and other
negative behaviors which make women do things to their body that they should not do. Men are
attracted to healthy women regardless if the woman is older. Most modeling agencies prefer skinny
women because they believe having smaller women as models would attract men there to support
them. The media thinks being overweight is ugly which is unfair for bigger women because women of
any size should be able to model. The media shows thin women on television

Who Is The Protagonist Theoden
To break away from the traditional method of introducing a character through descriptions of physical
appearances and personal behaviour, the first impression of protagonist Theoden is formed through
associations linked to water and the colour blue as these themes are commonly referred to throughout
the tale. The blue, is both applied to provide simple detail of colour to the setting, however it is more
so to convey the emotional state of sadness, which is what it connotes. Theoden clearly suffers with
grief, and the setting is almost used as a tool of contrast for the character with his surroundings. The
moon and its far distanced companions ( here is a use of a metaphor, to depict the stars with a different
interpretation, ) illuminate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is yet again the mentioning of colour, in which the blue faded to black during the scene. The
effect of this simple detail is the first step towards the sudden change of the event, into an uneasy
situation that foreshadows the oncoming complications. Even so, the singing evolving into a tone of
sharper and darker melody reflects the water s changing atmosphere. Amaryllis develops relentless
behaviour as she pierces, claws and scrapes over Theoden s shrinking body , implicating he is
vulnerable and powerless, which can create some tension as the reader may experience concern as to
whether or not he shall survive. Overall, the singing and drastic change of Amaryllis from a beautiful
and radiant being to an utterly ruthless character, followed by the helplessness of Theoden parallels to
the Greek myths of Sirens and Sailors, which is the form of what my stimulus text was written

The On The Gaming Industry
The gaming industry took America so far in entertainment for generations of young and old to play for
decades to come. Starting from one of the developers of the atomic bomb used in World War II to the
present day console wars of PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo games have been played. Computer
engineers took steps and chances with their ideas, making them into successful business men in a
brand new industry, creating new products of imagination, science, and reality. If there were no video
games modern day products and small industries such as apple would not exist since Atari hired Steve
Jobs to come work for them and not pushing him to the limit of the apple computer. New worlds were
in place for developers and customers to explore and enjoy. The developer of the atomic bomb and
first person to take a chance was William Higinbotham. His game started in Brookhaven in which he
took charge and calling it Tennis for Two. His invention was simulated on a screen was a vertical side
view of a tennis court showing the edge floor with the edge of a floor with the edge of the net
perpendicular to it (Games...). The game system came with two controls having one knob and button
on each one giving players to hit a small dot representing the ball moving back and forth. The actual
device was connected to an oscilloscope having a simple design, although Higinbotham worked with
technical specialist Robert V. Dvorak, who built it and Alexander Elia is designing, designs the
blueprints.

Occupational Therapy Practitioners
As an occupational therapy practitioner, it is important to understand how to modify homes to fit an
individual with a disability. In this paper, I will share what I believe are the best modifications to my
own 2 story home for an individual in a wheelchair including the entrance and half bath, kitchen,
stairs, For those who maneuver through life in a wheelchair, the entrance to a home can be a huge
obstacle. The first modification I will make is to add a 4 foot ramp to the outside of my house. I made
the choice of a 46 ramp since I have 8 inches of height . I used the formula of 12 inches of ramp for
every 2 inches of height. The ramp will include railings on both sides for increased safety when
entering and leaving the home. As a person ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

washer and dryer opposite the door to increase floor space for ease of use and access. Then, I will

support good body mechanics while transferring clothes from the washer to the dryer and the dryer to
the laundry basket. Finally, I will add a rolling laundry basket for ease of use while in a wheelchair. As
a health practitioner, it is vital to learn how to help individuals to live in their homes comfortably after
a life altering circumstance when they enter, cook, sleep, bathe and all of their other vital occupations.
Seeing the impact on the independence of the client does not just impact the individual, but the whole
family. The newfound freedom in the occupations of habit will help the individual to feel like

Michael Bruce s A Man Of Logic
Bruce had always preferred wandering to the confines of four walls. Although, if SHEILD had their
way, General Ross in particular, he would ve been imprisoned a long time ago. Somewhere where the
sun doesn t shine. Locked away, and probably left to rot, in one of SHIELD s many undisclosed
correctional facilities. But there was something to be said about sleeping beneath the stars. To be
reminded how insignificant you really were. A man of logic, philosophy had never been a fascination
for Bruce. His mind prone to working out problems from a scientific standpoint than an emotional
one. But left with time to spare over the years, Bruce came to realize how ironic his life has been. At
how better off the world would have been if his father had succeeded in killing him all those years
ago. Bruce deserved nothing less than the cave he caged himself in. Spending a great deal with
himself had left Dr. Banner questioning his existence, more so in the light of recent events. And
already in a struggle for his own identity, philosophy only twisted his sense of insignificancy.
So it didn t seem possible that he d ever seen the stars again.
Self exile didn t stem from just one reason, but a number of them. Each one weaving in and out of
Banner s thoughts until he felt control slipping through his grasp. The Scarlet Witch had done more
than simply cast an illusion that killed dozens of people. She created in Bruce a sense of reproach, a
part of him second guessing his role in the

Oklahoma City Bombing Analysis
Analysis of the Oklahoma City Bombing On April 19th, 1995, at 9:02 AM a bomb exploded outside
the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Office Building in Oklahoma City. The cause of the explosion was an
Ammonium Nitrate and Fuel Oil bomb in a 24 foot rental truck parked in the street on the north side
of the building (Oklahoma City Fire Department Report of the Bombing). The building was home to
sixteen federal agencies. This was the most destructive terrorist act on American soil until the 9/11
attacks. The chief conspirators in this attack have been Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols which
met in 1988 at Fort Benning during basic training for the U.S. Army. Michael Fortier which also had
some degree in involvement had been McVeigh s army ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the April 21, 1995, court hearing on the gun charges, but before McVeigh s release, federal
agents managed to take him into custody as they continued their investigation into the bombing. After
a nine hour interrogation, Terry Nichols was formally held in federal custody until his trial. On April
25, 1995, James Nichols was also arrested, but he was released after 32 days due to lack of evidence.
McVeigh s sister Jennifer was accused of illegally mailing bullets to McVeigh, but she was granted
immunity in exchange for testifying against him. The official FBI investigation was named the OK
BOMB. After the trials McVeigh was found guilty on eleven counts of murder and conspiracy. He was
sentenced to death and executed finally after President George W. Bush approved the execution on
June 11th, 2001 through lethal injection. Nichols stood trial twice. He was first tried by the federal
government in 1997 and found guilty of conspiring to build a weapon of mass destruction and of eight
counts of involuntary manslaughter of federal officers. He was sentenced on June 4, 1998 to life
without parole. Michael and Lori Fortier were considered accomplices for their foreknowledge of the
planning of the bombing. In addition to Michael assisting McVeigh in scouting the federal building,
Lori had helped McVeigh laminate a fake driver s license which was later used to rent the Ryder truck.
Michael agreed to testify against McVeigh and Nichols in

Exercise Test Of Fasting Blood Glucose Levels
Following the establishment of fasting blood glucose levels subjects in the oral glucose tolerance test
consumed a 10 ounce beverage that contained 100 grams of glucose. Over the next 2 hours subjects
repeated the same method as used in the control test to test their blood glucose levels 4 more times.
These 4 tests were conducted at 30 minute intervals and all readings were recorded for later
examination.
Physical Exercise Test After recording their fasting blood glucose levels subjects in the exercise test
group transitioned to the gym. At the gym each individual engaged in 45 minutes of moderate
exercise. Although no strict controls were put in place to regulate the type or intensity of exercise
conducted individuals generally engaged in a reasonably strenuous amount of exercises. Most
individuals conducted either cardiovascular exercise such as running and biking or strength training
such as calisthenics or weight lifting. Immediately upon completion of the exercise period, subjects
returned to the laboratory to conduct a second blood glucose test. Utilizing the same method as
described in the control test the subjects examined and recorded their post exercise blood glucose
levels. All data from both sets of tests were then compiled and recorded in a Microsoft excel file. The
results were then examined by calculating the mean and standard deviation for each set of data. In
order to test our null hypothesis, the results of the oral glucose tolerance test were

The And Of The Renaissance
When describing Giuseppe Arcimboldo s artwork, scholars consistently use one term: bizarre. Indeed,
among his most famous paintings are that which feature human faces composed out of food, animals,
and household objects. Modern viewers have viewed these composite paintings amusingly. However,
there is more depth and context to Arcimboldo s art than simply to serve as forms of entertainment.
Research suggests Arcimboldo masked social critiques and political messages in his paintings, which
were reflective of the ongoing intellectual currents of the Renaissance. As best put by Thomas
DaCosta Kaufmann, Arcimboldo s paintings can be seen not as bizarre fancies, but as the expression
of the complicated intellectual world of the late sixteenth century (Elhard 117). Therefore, this paper
will examine Arcimboldo s background as an artist, analyses of his composite paintings, and the
relationship his artwork had to Renaissance scholarship. Arcimboldo was an Italian artist who worked
in the courts of emperors Ferdinand I, Maximilian II, and Rudolf II during the sixteenth century, the
period of the Renaissance. During his employment, Arcimboldo produced and designed tapestries,
stained glass windows, festival staging, and costumes. However, he is most famous for his avant garde
paintings of composite heads. These paintings were comprised of objects fruit, vegetables, books, etc.
associated with the allegorical meanings of the subjects (Elhard 116). The inspiration behind these

  • 2. Home Energy Conservation Home Energy Conservation So you think the cost of gas is outrageous? Most Americans do. The controversies in the Middle East and recent environmental disasters have made the cost of many natural resources, like oil, sky rocket. So imagine the amount of oil needed to power your car and compare that to the amount of oil needed to heat your home. Home energy conservation is a way that Americans can counter act the estimated high costs to heat, cool or light their residence. In the old days energy conservation was as simple turning off a light when you left a room, or setting a timer on your thermostat to regulate when your heat or air conditioning came on. These techniques are still valuable but America, and the world, has taken a more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... More effective response to the challenges of increasing complexity in NRM requires a shift in thinking from the linearity of research extension farmer to alternative, multiple actor institutional arrangements and innovation systems. (Environment, 2007) Economic Issues Geothermal energy uses the natural heat beneath the earth s surface. In home and commercial installations geothermal systems can provide effective heating and cooling abilities. The system relies on the average 50 degree temperature of the earth s soil below the frost line. The depth of this temperature is usually found at about 6 to 10 feet below the surface. The system provides both heating and cooling abilities by transferring heat energy through water exchange. Water filled coils are buried at a specified depth in the soil (Hefler, 2007). Depending upon whether heating or cooling is needed the system either absorbs heat from the earth or dissipates heat into the soil via the water filled tubes. The beginning signifies correct English grammar and proper sentence structure, but in seamless Zora Neale Hurston s fashion, the dialogue from the protagonist Delia Jones reads in broken incorrect syntax, Sykes, you quit grindin dirt into these clothes! How can Ah git through by Sat day if Ah don t start on Sunday (74)? In her short stories Hurston s diction is elevated with the usage of morphology with the constant exchange of word formation with infixes, affixes and the combining of word choices. Hurston s choice of diction offered a rhymical affect that adds a melodious tone to her writing shaped by the Harlem Renaissance period. As noted in the, The Florida Historical Quarterly Hurston blended narrator and protagonist through language (Haskin, 207) Her writing style aid in the management of mood, tone, character depiction, movement, and atmosphere in storytelling procedures. • 4. Analysis Of The Precession Of Simulacra Introduction Lee Harvey Oswald. The name may conjure up specific memories of a living, breathing man for those who knew him; but, for the general public, Lee Harvey Oswald was and will always be a scarecrow of patched together media images and texts. This is due to the fact that our only access to Oswald is through texts. To quote Lentricchia, Oswald is a person of, by, and for the image (2). Image, here, can be understood as any textual representation of Oswald. In Libra, DeLillo goes even further by portraying the living Oswald as a fragmented figure whose identity is already a pastiche of texts and images that he has consumed. In his landmark essay, The Precession of Simulacra, Baudrillard warns that [s]imulation is no longer that of a territory, a referential being, or a substance. It is the generation by models of a real without origin or reality: a hyperreal (par. 1). Through his consumption of texts, Oswald constructs an identity without substance or reality: a hyperreal identity. Baudrillard cites a Borges tale about a ruler who commissions a map the same size as his territory. After the empire falls, the remnants of the map are still rotting away in the deserts. He believes that this story is helpful in describing what he means by the precession of simulacra, and he alters the story, saying, The territory no longer precedes the map, nor does it survive it. It is the real, and not the map, whose vestiges persist here and there in the deserts (par. 1). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Wild Lands Policy is described in detail in section V. The article first describes the three ways the new Wild Lands Policy was to work. The first way was it affirmed that the agency should consider wilderness values as an integral component of its multiple use mission, identifying lands with wilderness characteristics (LWC) in its mandatory section 201 inventories. Second, the Policy directed BLM to use its section 202 land use planning authority to consider designating appropriate LWC as Wild Lands, that is, lands that the agency would protect in amended RMPs by avoiding impairment to their wilderness characteristics. Third, for project level decisions in areas not yet inventoried under the new framework, the Policy instructed BLM to inventory apparent wilderness characteristics, and then discuss the proposed project s effects to them as well as measures to minimize those effects in a NEPA analysis. (Brumfield, v.44, I1) The article then describes each area in its own section, section A is Inventory, section B is Land Use Planning, and section C is Project Level Decisions. In section VI the Death and Afterlife of the Wild Lands Policy is discussed in detail. She talks about how the policy sparked immediate protest and legal challenges. In April 2011 the opposition to the Wild Lands Policy took full effect. There was a congressional rider put into place that prohibited the use of funds to implement the policy. Then ... One difference, the most obvious, is biological differences, which is based around hormones and temperament. The second difference is culturally diversities. The different sexs have very diverse organizational structures (Eagly, Makhijani, Klonsky, 1992; Chemers, 2000). The attitudes people have towards women when they are the ones making decisions are a perception with no objectivity, formally known as a stereotype. Stereotyping is one of the main obstacles women endure in their leadership positions. Reduction of weight results in reduced fuel consumption which results in a decrease in the emission of greenhouse gas. For reducing the weight, higher strength to weight ratio steels would be required. Not only is a high strength, but the steel also requires to be adequately formable and greater energy absorption capacity. Good formability is essential for designing vehicle components with complex shapes. Dual phase (DP) steels are quite promising material for these purposes. DP steels can already achieve strength in the range of 500 1200 MPa with a total elongation of 15 25 %. Dual phase steels contain more than 1% alloying element among which major alloying elements are C, Si, Mn, and there are some other alloying elements also. Elizabeth I, monarch of England, and Marie de l Incarnation, a French nun, both invoked God and other forms of religious power to stake their claims to authority. Elizabeth s role as a queen came at a time when her country was going through political turmoil. Marie s role as a missionary in New France was to civilize the indigenous people. Although working to better their countries, both of these writers are vastly different due to their social positions. While Elizabeth had the substantial task of ruling over her country, Marie was serving her country as a missionary; however, both writers utilize religion to accomplish their various duties. Marie utilized her understanding of religion and the Native s understanding of religion to build a relationship built on trust. She arrived in modern day Quebec in the late 1630 s as a missionary from her country to educate and civilize the Natives there to match European traditions. Park And Recreation Workers Policy Analysis Introduction There are many workers in the nation, many of whom are working in the public sector amongst various specialties, though whether they are a productive worker or are motivated enough to be an effective worker is of question. The policy in mention aims to provide possible solutions to incentivizing workers to increase their productivity, as well as their wellness during the job and in their personal life. The policy will affect those already working and those who are seeking public jobs, for, in the United States, there are approximately 22 million public workers in the nation . An instance of why autonomy is left to the individual agency to come up with a solution that fits their needs, is the fact that not all solutions work. In Public Administration Review, Lee and Hong (2011), suggest that a childcare subsidy program, is incredibly beneficial to reducing turnover and increasing agency performance, yet other methods weren t as meaningful . The study also highlights some other alternatives that are just as beneficial, such as adjusting work schedules, paid family time, and working from home. Why Design Can Not Remain Exclusive The Writers Since the NSFNet was decommissioned in the early 1990 s and restrictions on commercial traffic was removed, (Costello,2016) we have seen the individual empowered to a point where they can compete with the tradition, media, retail and content outlets.(Abel, 2011) Right now, with social networks and other tools on the Internet, all of these 500 million people have a way to say what they re thinking and have their voice be heard. (Heussner, 2016) With this technological advancement, the individual has been emancipated from total reliance on the publishers, record labels and retailers. In the book Open Design Now: Why Design Cannot Remain Exclusive, Open design is defined as, distributed manufacturing processes that emphasise the use related capabilities of openness . (Van Abel, Evers, and Klaassen, 2014) Through information technology, digital manufacturing uses a network of collaborative facilities that enable manufacturing to be sourced locally. We no longer have to be restricted to using a single factory or distributor (Liu, Wang, and Wei, 2009). This method compared to traditional low cost labour options, is more economically sound. In an Article, The Rise of Distributed Manufacturing and 7 advantages over Traditional Manufacturing (Robinson,2014), writer Adam Robinson gives two examples of an imaginary company that goes through the traditional means of manufacturing and distributed manufacturing. In the traditional example a company must source cheap labourers for the production of their product. when the product is made they are sent via shipping containers, emitting fuels and taking additional time from the transportation process. If the product were to undergo a distributed manufacturing process then the company would locally source experts, there would be a higher labour cost for the design process but the additional costs would be proportionate to the time and expense saved in the transport costs involved in the Traditional method. (Robinson,2014) So what does the open in Open design mean? ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Who Is The Protagonist Theoden To break away from the traditional method of introducing a character through descriptions of physical appearances and personal behaviour, the first impression of protagonist Theoden is formed through associations linked to water and the colour blue as these themes are commonly referred to throughout the tale. The blue, is both applied to provide simple detail of colour to the setting, however it is more so to convey the emotional state of sadness, which is what it connotes. Theoden clearly suffers with grief, and the setting is almost used as a tool of contrast for the character with his surroundings. Amaryllis develops relentless behaviour as she pierces, claws and scrapes over Theoden s shrinking body , implicating he is vulnerable and powerless, which can create some tension as the reader may experience concern as to whether or not he shall survive. Overall, the singing and drastic change of Amaryllis from a beautiful and radiant being to an utterly ruthless character, followed by the helplessness of Theoden parallels to the Greek myths of Sirens and Sailors, which is the form of what my stimulus text was written ... Although, if SHEILD had their way, General Ross in particular, he would ve been imprisoned a long time ago. Somewhere where the sun doesn t shine. Locked away, and probably left to rot, in one of SHIELD s many undisclosed correctional facilities. But there was something to be said about sleeping beneath the stars. To be reminded how insignificant you really were. A man of logic, philosophy had never been a fascination for Bruce. His mind prone to working out problems from a scientific standpoint than an emotional one. But left with time to spare over the years, Bruce came to realize how ironic his life has been. At how better off the world would have been if his father had succeeded in killing him all those years ago. Bruce deserved nothing less than the cave he caged himself in. Spending a great deal with himself had left Dr. Banner questioning his existence, more so in the light of recent events. And already in a struggle for his own identity, philosophy only twisted his sense of insignificancy. So it didn t seem possible that he d ever seen the stars again. Self exile didn t stem from just one reason, but a number of them. Each one weaving in and out of Banner s thoughts until he felt control slipping through his grasp. Exercise Test Of Fasting Blood Glucose Levels Following the establishment of fasting blood glucose levels subjects in the oral glucose tolerance test consumed a 10 ounce beverage that contained 100 grams of glucose. Over the next 2 hours subjects repeated the same method as used in the control test to test their blood glucose levels 4 more times. These 4 tests were conducted at 30 minute intervals and all readings were recorded for later examination. Physical Exercise Test After recording their fasting blood glucose levels subjects in the exercise test group transitioned to the gym. At the gym each individual engaged in 45 minutes of moderate exercise. Although no strict controls were put in place to regulate the type or intensity of exercise conducted individuals generally engaged in a reasonably strenuous amount of exercises. Most individuals conducted either cardiovascular exercise such as running and biking or strength training such as calisthenics or weight lifting. Immediately upon completion of the exercise period, subjects returned to the laboratory to conduct a second blood glucose test. • 33. The And Of The Renaissance When describing Giuseppe Arcimboldo s artwork, scholars consistently use one term: bizarre. Indeed, among his most famous paintings are that which feature human faces composed out of food, animals, and household objects. Modern viewers have viewed these composite paintings amusingly. However, there is more depth and context to Arcimboldo s art than simply to serve as forms of entertainment. Research suggests Arcimboldo masked social critiques and political messages in his paintings, which were reflective of the ongoing intellectual currents of the Renaissance. As best put by Thomas DaCosta Kaufmann, Arcimboldo s paintings can be seen not as bizarre fancies, but as the expression of the complicated intellectual world of the late sixteenth century (Elhard 117). Therefore, this paper will examine Arcimboldo s background as an artist, analyses of his composite paintings, and the relationship his artwork had to Renaissance scholarship. Arcimboldo was an Italian artist who worked in the courts of emperors Ferdinand I, Maximilian II, and Rudolf II during the sixteenth century, the period of the Renaissance. During his employment, Arcimboldo produced and designed tapestries, stained glass windows, festival staging, and costumes. However, he is most famous for his avant garde paintings of composite heads. These paintings were comprised of objects fruit, vegetables, books, etc. associated with the allegorical meanings of the subjects (Elhard 116). The inspiration behind these ...
