Shared Team Leadership Paper
Shared Team Leadership
For high performance team, shared leadership is important as a project moves through the phases of
initiation, early phase, later phase and close. Wu and Cormican (2016) found that managers should
focus on developing strong internal leadership patterns at the early stage to maximize team
effectiveness, where shared leadership is prominent with team members interacting, cooperating and
exchanging information. As the team advances into later phase, leadership would turn to focus on few
individuals who might consistently demonstrate greater leadership competence. In addition, the leader
would benefit from the effective use of the Hill model for team leadership ( A framework, 2013), in
making decision (to take action or to continue to monitor the situation) and assessing appropriate
actions (internal relation related, internal task related, or external action).
Technology Transfer
In technical product development, the team could benefit from partnership with a trusted academic
institution. An article ( Entrepreneurship meets innovation, 2012) reported on a successful technology
transfer collaboration between a research institution of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shared leadership is optimal during the initial stage of product development life cycle, but leadership
evolves to focus on key individuals whose leadership stands out as the team evolves. Team leadership
approach is important in problem solving (including conflicts) as the leader decides what to do and
how to do it. In the creation of innovative products, knowledge management within the organization,
information processing, and technology transfer collaboration with a research institution would be
helpful. In addition, as the product being developed is related to the well being of humanity, ethics is
important and the team leader and members need to consider the impact of their design on the safety
and the human ways of

Syntax And Syntax
The task of providing a simple description of a programming language is very difficult but it is
essential to the language s success.
ALGOL 60 and 68 was initially represented using compact formal descriptions; in both scenarios,
however, the description was not clear because they utilized a completely new notation. Hence, both
these languages were not accepted by the developer community. Similarly, few languages have faced
some issues due to different dialects, a result of simple but informal and imprecise description.
The study of programming languages is similar to natural languages. It can be classified into Syntax

language has its own rules.
Computers are very inflexible and understand what you write only if you state what you want in exact
syntax that the computer expects and understands.
Importance of semantics
Semantics is referred to the meaning of words and sentences.
Mostly semantics studies the understanding of each word and creates the sentences in the form of text
written.
Semantics offers a framework for easy understanding and analyses the fundamental requirement of
languages.
Syntax
Syntax refers in different way of symbols that combined to create well formed sentences in the
language. It defines the formal relations between the components of a programming language. So, it
provides a structural description of the various expressions which makes strings in the language.

Comparing Confucianism and Christianity Essay
Comparing Confucianism and Christianity
The premise of Confucian teachings are centered around the idea of Jen or the ³virtue of humanity
(Ching 68).² To accomplish this divinity, five relationships must be honored: ruler and minister, father
and son, husband and wife, elder and younger brother, and friend and friend (Hopfe). These
relationships led a push for a revolution of the political system to adopt the methods of Jen. Confucius
sought to revive the ancient Chinese culture by redefining the importance of society and government.
He described a society governed by ³reasonable, humane, and just sensibilities, not by the passions of
individuals arbitrarily empowered by hereditary status² (Clearly). He felt that this ... Show more

Several scholars believe that his Heaven was analogous to the God unto which Christians served.
Christians feel that in order to also gain a Jen like status one must have a serious relationship with the
church and Jesus Christ himself. Confucius differed in that they feel that the body, mind and soul must
be recognized as one to reach Jen (Smith).
Through education or ritual practices one gains wealth. With wealth one achieved power. These are
the essentials to living a good life (O Briére).
However, relationships between men is the most desirable. These aspects are the embodiment of Li. Li
was love for authority and respect for others (Alexander).
Christianity also looks at wealth in a slightly different manner. ³At the heart of the Christian faith and
at its source of its traditions in Scripture is the belief in a covenant (Carmen 17).² It is the promise
between God and the individual that ensures (through faith) that one s kindly actions on Earth will be
divinely awarded. The five relationships of Jen are also honored in
Christianity with references to ³Honor thy father and mother, for this is the first commandment with
promise (Ephesians 6:1).² It is prevalent that Christianity and Confucius are very similar in their
philosophy. Some would argue that Confucius lack of a strong theology is its failure to comply with
the Christian ethics. Others would say it is there

History of a Nursing in El Paso
The second Texas institution opened by the Daughters of Charity was in El Paso, a frontier town of
only a few thousand residents, when three Daughters of Charity arrived on February 3, 1892. The day
the history of nursing in El Paso will always look back to.(TSHAonline.org) These ladies saw a vision
to care for the sick that could not be cared for in El Paso. The Charity created the first emergence
center to go too, and formed our medical programs and helped lay a foundation to grow on. With the
help of the citizens of El Paso the Daughters of Charity opened up Hotel Dieu the oldest and most
renown hotel. Due to its central location, it was named after a hospital in Paris and built El Paso s
name for their great nursing program. After closing their doors in December 5, 1987, Hotel Dieu,
passed down its views on medicine to UTEP. It allowed the university to uphold the reputation for
having one of the best nursing programs in Texas. From 1892 until 2016, the school of nursing has
adapted to the changes in technologies and surgeries advancing in the field of medicine, therefore
impacting all El Pasoans lives who need medical attention. In the late 1800 s to 1900 s a white plague
broke out in the United States called tuberculosis (TB), the need for medical attention was both high
and demanding. El Paso s climate, characterized by mild winters, low rainfall and humidity and

This report is about a private transportation company named Uber . Uber is a company which started
its business roughly in 2010 and take over the transportation (taxi industry) of US. By the end of 2014
this company became international and took almost 80% of the customers. Such huge and sudden
success is remarkable indeed but such sudden success has also bought company a lot of haters and
competitors as well. This report will through light over the matter which should be polished and which

(Anderson 1150)
Main reason of the success of this lies in the fact that it tackled the issues of local taxi industry which
were becoming unbearable by the common people. For example ordinary taxis charge on the basis of
time spend while using the taxi (by customer) while Uber charges on the basis of distance. In
populated cities it was hectic to find taxi on urgent basis, Uber tackled this issue and gave service
which is handled by a smart phone app and claims to provide taxi with in exact 10 minutes of ordering
the service. In the start prices of Uber taxi services were high due to their high quality services which
left the customer range un attended who prefer to pay less money to the taxi, but in 2012 Uber offered
a service with a name Uber X with comparatively less prices and a bit less quality service (in terms of
not providing first class taxis and a bit of delay in time), this service gained the attention of those
customers who were not in hurry while going somewhere (Brown 17). This much coverage of taxi
industry created a lot of issues in the local taxi industry where almost 80% of customers started using
Uber, because of many facilities like one can travel without cash on the spot, as all transactions are
through credit cards, safety reasons, quality service reasons, urgent service and etc.

Racial Slurs, Words of Hate
Words of Hate Sticks and stones may brake my bones, but words will never hurt me , goes one old
playground rhyme. We are usually taught to ignore a person who uses foul language, but everyone
knows that words can really hurt a person. When someone uses hateful words against us, it can hurt
just as much as a slap or a punch. When people start to use obscenities with ethnic or racial slurs, it
can push some sensitive buttons. Racial slurs used in a joking manner leads to others using it in a
condescending manner, which ultimately leads to violence and feelings of hatred. From my
experience, racial slurs can cause the most extreme negative reactions in people. Racial slurs often
induce violence, but with more of a reason by some, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the students thought of that as unfair and whispered to himself dumb nigger . I remember how
awful it made me feel, and because it was a small school of about 25 students per grade, I was the only
one of color in mine, which made me feel like I did not belong because I was different. I sometimes
look back and think, how could a child in the fifth grade use such negative words? I then realize they
learn to use it that way from all different types of sources such as the media, friends and family, and so
on. Naylor claims, If the word was to disappear totally from the mouths of even the most liberal of
white society, no one in that room was naïve enough to believe it would disappear from white minds.
That is true for our generation, but if we can stop contaminating the minds of our children to come, the
idea of using all types of racial slurs in a negative connotation can be eliminated. I often find amongst
people of the same race use these racial slurs towards each other. They may justify them by thinking
they are just joking around, not realizing they are saying words giving the meaning of racial prejudice,
ignorance, or lack of understanding. For example, most African Americans I know call each other
Nigga almost every time they speak to, or about someone. Racial slurs are extreme hate words, but to
some, it is considered an endearment. As Naylor explains, When used with a possessive adjective by a

Bra Boys: Australian Underdogs or Drug hardened criminals
After the release of the record breaking Australian documentary Bra Boys: Blood is Thicker than

Jack Beatty s Age Of Betrayal
In the book Age of Betrayal, Jack Beatty puts forth his argument that representative government gave
way to bought government, (Beatty 192). Do you agree with Beatty s assertion of representative
government? If yes, how would you compare the political climate of the time to the current political
climate?
I agree with Beatty s claim in regards to the United States. Often times, elected officials would
streamline legislation for the wealthy because they would receive gifts in return. This is most clearly
seen through the Homestead Act and the distribution of land grants. In the chapter Vote Yourself a
Farm, Beaty states that in return for a modest land grant, for example, a Kansas road, spread $295,000
worth of stock among Thaddeus Stevens, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Representative government does not pave the way for a bought government, rather, it opens the door
and increases the likelihood of corruption. There are many representative governments around the
world that do work and are not as susceptible to special interests as the United States. For instance,
Canada. Canada has a representative government, but they do not face the same issues of corruption as
the United States. This is due to their campaign finance laws and the role contributions serve during a
campaign. In Canada, an individual may only contribute a maximum of $1,500 to a political candidate
or party. This in turn leads to an average campaign budget of roughly $100,000 in total. Campaign
budgets in the United States dwarf those of their Northern neighbor. As stated earlier, this will
continue to be the case until campaign finance laws are put in

The Development Of Abolitionism And Anti Slavery
This paper is on the history of the development of abolitionism and anti slavery in Allegany County,
New York. Allegany County began shortly before the end of slavery in New York and underwent its
early period of development in a time when abolitionism, moral reform movements, and related social
developments were occurring across Western New York and other parts of the country. This paper will
draw on a variety of sources, including archival documents, biographies, monographs, and
information provided by local historians, to present an understanding of the developments which
occurred. It will make the case abolitionism in Allegany was developed through an interactive and
participatory process between the local population, reformist ideas, social developments, relationships
of mutual influence with non local elements.
Allegany County began in the period of the gradual abolition of slavery in New York. Significant
American settlement in the area began near the arrival of the 19th century and the county was declared
in 1806. In 1799, New York State had begun a legal process of gradual emancipation of slaves, which
culminated in its full prohibition in 1827. In this early period, most settlers did not own slaves, some
significant groups (such as a Rhode island group of Seventh Day Baptists who settled in Nile and
Alfred) came into the county with anti slavery views, and the local Haudenosaunee were largely
unfriendly in sentiments toward slavery. But a relatively small

Professional Learning Community
A Professional Learning Community, or PLC, is a group of educators that meets regularly, shares
expertise, and works collaboratively to improve teaching skills and the academic performance of
students. Professional learning within communities requires continuous improvement, promotes
collective responsibility, and supports alignment of individual, team, school, and school system goals.
The literature on professional learning communities repeatedly gives attention to five attributes of
such organizational arrangements:
1. Supportive and shared leadership,
2. Collective creativity,
3. Shared values and vision,
4. Supportive conditions, and
5. Shared personal practice.
Learning communities share collective responsibility for the learning of all students within the school
or school system by bringing together the entire education community, including members of the
education workforce teachers, support staff, school system staff, and administrators as well as
families, policy makers, and other stakeholders, to increase effective teaching in every classroom.

Motif Of Memento Mori
Memento mori motif in Baroque art
Tianyao Wang
Introduction:
Memento mori in Latin means remember that you have to die .[1] It s the medieval Latin Christian
theory and practice of reflection on mortality, especially as a means of considering the vanity of
earthly life and the transient nature of all earthly goods and pursuits. [2] In art, memento mori are
artistic or symbolic reminders of mortality.[3] For example, the Danse Macabre , also known as the
Dance of Death is as artist genre in the medium of paintings, frescoes and even in the musical settings

Jerome s left hand took the edge of one open book and the right hand stretched naturally on the table

person s own meditation and research on the mortality, death and the related staff.

To What Extent Is The Argument Of Self Determinants Of...
Secession occurs due minorities wanting independence or sovereignty for political cultural identity
reasons. Self determination, which is the idea that a people that possess some sort of unanimous
identity have the right to pursue their own political interests and form their own state, is most
commonly considered the primary justification for secession (Clark 739). However, there is an
ongoing debate as to when a people can put this notion of self determination into practice. The extent
of self determination that a people has is one of the major factors that determines whether or not a
secession can be successful. However, there are many other contributing determinants of success. In
particular, this paper will demonstrate that state systems and their power structures are an equally
important aspect of secession that can ultimately impact and alter its outcome and success. It will
contend that secessionist movements are more likely to achieve a favourable outcome or be
considered successful if the parent state is governed as a federation rather than a unitary state. ... Show

Canada is a federation while Spain is a unitary state, thus making the secession movements of Quebec

Descriptive Essay On Bob Ross
The secret to doing anything is believing that you can do it. Anything that you believe you can do
strong enough, you can do. Anything. As long as you believe. This is one of the many inspirational
things I have heard Bob Ross say on his show, The Joy Of Painting. Bob Ross is one of the most
beloved American painters and is known by thousands of people across the world. His show was all
about teaching his viewers how to paint and enjoy themselves while doing it. However, many of us
tuned into the show not to paint, but to just listen to his calming voice and watch him form a
masterpiece on a blank canvas. It is crazy to watch all the things he can do with a brush. He is also
known for using the wet on wet painting technique which he learned from his mentor William
Alexander. This is the process of putting oil paints directly on top of one another to create complete
paintings in less than an hour. Bob Ross practiced this so much that he got it down to under 30
minutes for his show.
His painting style is very different than mine, but I still love to watch and learn new things that I can
experiment with in my style of painting. He accomplished many things in life, including finishing over
30,000 paintings and touching the hearts of millions of people while doing that. More recently, he has
become very popular on social media, with over 67,000 followers on his Twitter fan page and over a
million views on his YouTube painting videos. His love of painting has been brought

Big Bang Theory is a humorous drama based on situations that might arise in day to day life,
otherwise known as a situational comedy. The television show is based on the social lives of four
friends who are professors, and socially classed as Nerds. It is presumptuous on first encounter that
the show will present with all the similarities of the 80 s hit movies Revenge of the Nerds. In fact,
their daily interactions mimic those fashioned as such. They exemplify social awkwardness, sexual
failure and mathematical intelligence, all characteristics of a nerd, discussed in a thesis done by
Marina Kunert (p. 1). The lack of social skills, which often leads to clashes between them and other
people, makes them very interesting people.

Penny being a part of Big Bang Theory brings common sense and social interaction into their
otherwise, socially disconnected environment. The series starts with Penny, the attractive neighbor,
moves in next to the nerds Leonard and Sheldon and immediately becomes a potential love interest for
Leonard. Raj and Howard constantly struggle with girls but express the desire to be in a romantic
relationship. However, they all seem to form a circle of friendship. Idealized images of relationships
can create a more positive image about relationships (Kunert, p. 11). The link between two people can
shift from being friends to being lovers and vice versa. On the Big Bang Theory, Leonard and Penny
become friends first for a long time before becoming lovers. After breaking up they remain friends.
Big Bang Theory has exceeded the expectations of many. It is definitely not what people thought it
was going to be. The four main characters are not the average nerds. While all intelligent in their own

its popularity. Although the very first season did not get great ratings, the show picked up and has

1. The title Strictly Ballroom gives us the idea impression of very stern rules in a very rigid strict
environment with many expectations restrictions. It also implies the concept of very orthodox
textbook ballroom dancing which is very stiff done exactly in a specific way which it s expected to be
done.
2. Billy Elliot is set in north eastern England during the 1984 1985 coal miners strike, this is very
important to acknowledge because it has a great impact on Billy his circumstances. It is seen that Billy
his family live in the lower income sectors or England where there are no trees or grass everything
looks very dull grey, also all the houses are very close together, in the neighborhood time that Billy
lives, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3. By looking at both Jackie Elliot, Billy s father as well as Shirley Hastings, Scott s mother, we can
see that both of them are very vicarious parents, as they live their dreams through their children expect
their children to live act in a specific way that they particularly desire such as with Shirley Scott, she
has made him do ballroom since he was a little child has forced him to compete in the way that she
wants so that he may achieve goals such as championships such as the Pan Pacific Grand Prix, which
she aspired to once winning which are actually her personal goals which she was not able to achieve
on her own, so she forces Scott to dance the way that she would that she wants him to in the hope that
he would achieve these goals on her behalf as she is living through her child Scott. Jackie Elliot also
pressures his son Billy to do boxing as he gives Billy his fathers boxing gloves expects him to follow
in the same footsteps as his family is known to be good boxers. Jackie himself is a very masculine
male expects his son to be the same, he wants his son to be masculine do wrestling, football, or boxing
but does not want him to do ballet because he is ashamed of it it is definitely not something that he
would ever do.

Temporary Permit
I vividly remember this Thursday evening after school. My father was taking me and my sister home,
as he did every day. When we arrived at the beginning of our steep private drive, he put the car in park
and went to get the mail. And while he was getting the mail I took the time to hop into the front seat.
When he opened the driver door he simply said, No absolutely not . I was relentless and begged him to
let me drive up the hill. I had my Temporary Permit I knew what I was doing, or at least I thought I
did. Driving always fascinated me. When I was little I used to sit on my father s lap and he would
drive up the hill and I would steer. Even though, this was my first time actually operating a vehicle, I
believed I could handle it. How hard

Shopping For A Host Case Study
Shopping for a Host
The key word is shopping. Web hosts can be found with a simple Internet search. Chances are, if you
have an email account, your email provider also offers web hosting. I use Yahoo and they offer
hosting. I know Gmail does as well. A search for web host companies lists many. Here are just a few:
Bluehost A small orange iPage Startlogic Sitebuilder Website builder Domain.com Fat cow
Justhostcom Host monster
There are plenty to choose from. But before you pick up that phone or start sending email you need to
understand what you expect from a web host. There are many things to consider:

Free AdWords: AdWords (Google AdWords) is an advertising service for businesses that want to

advertising and only pay when people click the ads. The service is focused on keywords.
Site backup: A host that includes backup with their service can be important. It is quicker and easier
for the host to automatically load the backup if they have a server problem. In many instances, this is
transparent.
I have received an email with one of my other businesses where the host notified me my backup was
loaded. They had a server crash and initiated a second server. They reloaded all backups to ensure all
content was up to date. The entire switch over process took a minute and a half. But they still notified
me of the action.
If the host does not offer backup, then all responsibility of reloading the site is in your hands. I keep a
current backup. But many do not. They just design, upload and then let the site run.
Captcha Test: The web host can also help with responses to your site. If you use a form the host can

Identification of Ethnic Groups in Malaysia
Multiracial is a unique feature in Malaysian society. Identification of each of the ethnic groups in
Malaysia, in line with their cultural and religious identity. Malay Muslims are the majority, followed
by Chinese, Buddhist, Confucian and Taoism and followed the Indians are Hindus. Christianity also
between religions in Malaysia. Religious differences contributed to the complexity and inter ethnic
conflict. In Malaysia, the level of social interaction in a pluralistic society is minimal. Residential
isolation and different working environments also help to create a huge gap between ethnic groups.
For that reason, many conflicts arise before and after the Independence Day of Malaysia The situation
is predicted to get worse if there is no attempt to reduce the gap between ethnic groups. Among the
steps that can be taken to resolve this conflict is the discussion of inter ethnic dialogue. Through
dialogue, discontent and stress among people or ethnic group can be minimized. Therefore, this paper
attempts to discuss the formation of a plural society in Malaysia, with the level of inter ethnic look.
This paper proposes the solution through dialogue approach. This solution can be used in the
Malaysian society to develop a more harmonious relationship between the races.

Demand Shocks
What Happens When Things Change?
There are demand shocks in the Short Run , when things change. There are demand shocks when

Demand shock that happen in the short run usually occur when there is an increment in government

Cousins provides that the nature of prize boxing itself is the main factor. He first bring up the style of
the fighting that prizefighting consist of. Cousin makes the point that the proponents of the boxing
searched for killers and sluggers and maulers as opposed to boxers skilled with the technical aspects
of pugilism. He links this with fatalities by stating that although a man can take a punch repeated
impacts will cause damage and has a risk of killing the man being stuck. Next he also loops the fans
into the nature of boxing. He states that crowd comes alive when violent acts occur such as when the
blood squirts out of his nose or eyes . This shows that the crowd not only permits the injuries, but
encourages them. The crowded rather than celebrating the sport for its martial arts treated it the boxers
like animals trying to kill another. This encouragement and draw to gore acts a contributor to boxing
having a violent and ugly and gore filled nature. These examples point to the main cause of Paret s
death being the nature of boxing and how it at time was simply a

Research Paper On Ivory
Ivory Is it worth it?
Everyday elephants and rhinos are being poached in order to get their tusks and horns. These tusks
and horns are made of ivory which is sold for very large sums. Many things are being done to stop
poaching but elephants and rhinos are still being poached.
People in Asia mainly China are the main buyers of ivory from illegally poached rhinos and elephants.
The ivory business is a multi million dollar business. They buy elephant tusks for $1,500 per pound.
Rhino horns are $45,000 per pound, or $6,000 for 100 grams. Many things are trying to be done but
there is still illegal ivory trading. There is a near total ban on ivory in the US. The Chinese
government has become stricter so people trade in Vietnam and Laos where there is a less strict
government. The main buyers of ivory are in Asia but people don t want to change their ways so many
people still participate in the business of ivory trading.
Elephants and rhinos are disappearing at an alarming rate due to illegal poaching. Many elephants are
being killed everyday and they could soon be extinct. Tanzania s elephant population decreased by
two thirds and Mozambique s fell by 40%. Elephants have dropped in population from more than 10
million to only 479,000 today. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparative Analysis Of Strategies And Views Of Katha...
In this paper, comparative analysis of strategies and views of Katha Pollitt and Aaron Devor, about the
determinants which define roles of genders in a society will be discussed. The central idea of the paper
is that gender has specific roles which are defined through their innate characteristics and social
constructs. Since the start of feminist movements, a debate has arised on the behaviors and roles of
genders. Feminist movements were purposed to achieve, the rights of women based on their roles
equal to men in the society. Which led to debate over differences between abilities and preferences of
gender that are the basis of different and unequal roles of males and females.
Girls and boys have different preferences and divergent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition to that people around that child will justify these sterotype behaviors by defining them as
natural roles which result from differences in hormones and genes. As she says, we are told that the
source of these robust preferences must lie outside society in prenatal hormonal influences, brain
chemistry, genes and that feminism has reached its natural limits. (Pollitt,1).
According to Devor, all female were biologically destined to have role of maternity and household.
There is a reason behind certain differences between biological structures and cognitive behaviors of
males and females. Hence, females were predisposed to have role of maternity and children care while
males do not have this role. He believes in hierarchical appraisals of natural roles of males and
females. If an individual performs duties which are naturally attributed to opposite gender, that
individual will not receive encouraging response from society (Devor,674). Girls and boys are born
different because of biological evolutions and gene differences, thus different gender attributes start
before birth. There are several biological differences in physical structure as well as cognitive
processes and intellectual traits of males and females. These cognitive differences exist due to
presence of some particular hormones in gender. If these particular hormones are removed from an
individual, he will no longer display characteristics

Gender Equality And Empowerment Of Women
The United Nations Millennium Declaration states that the main focus should be on gender equality
and empowerment of women in order to fight poverty, hunger and with that, help development that is
sustainable. (O Brien Williams 2013,212) Taking gender into the account while observing global
economy shows that men and women are impacted in various ways considering trade, production and
financial flows. (O Brien Williams 2013,212) The term feminization of poverty originates from about
1970s debates in United States, which was focused on welfare and single mothers. (BRIDGE) This
concept came into the spotlight in the 1990s and the term continued to be questioned and researched.
Criticisms emphasized the difference in female headed households, and how there are other
dimensions of women s vulnerability that influenced the situation of poor women too, unlike for men.
( Carolina J. Wennerholm 2002,9) The concept of the feminization of poverty has meant three distinct
things: that women compared to men have a higher incidence of poverty; that women s poverty is
more severe than men s; and that the incidence of poverty among women is increasing compared to
that of men. in the recent year and the development debates are continued on how to approach this
matter. ( Carolina J. Wennerholm 2002,9) Thus far, it s important to recognize that the concept started
from the issues of female headed households, to the raising world wide awareness on great number of

Gender Identity Is The Assumption Of There Being Binary...
Binary Logic: Another issue with research pertaining to sexual identity is the assumption of there
being binary categories, such as gay/straight, male/female, etc. Research in this area is generally
dichotomized (e.g. male/female, gay/straight), which can foster rigid identity assumptions, foster
homogeneous understanding of research particiapnts and results, foster a divide between normal and
deviant behavior, as well as mask inherent variation in different groups and populations (Johnson
Repta, 2012). Bringing greater awareness to the complexity of sexual and gender identity could have
transformative effects on how research is conducted. Some scholars in the social work field have
begun to acknowledge and recognize the increasing evidence that sexual and gender identity are not
binary categories, as well that categories might not even be an accurate way of understanding these
phenomena (Burdge, 2007; Roche Gringeri, 2010). While an understanding that the binary model is
flawed has gained some traction in social work research, the majority of researchers continue to ignore
and disregard this possibility, consequently reinforcing this erroneous dichotomous paradigm (Rassi,
2011). It has also been noted that critiques from postmodern, poststructural, and queer theory
perspectives, as well as from individuals or groups (e.g. transgender, bisexual, intersex) who do not fit
neatly into binary categories continue to remain essentially absent within social work

The Myth of Fragmentation The Composition and Publication History of Samuel T. Coleridge s Kubla
Khan
Although the exact date remains unknown, it is believed that Samuel Taylor Coleridge wrote his poem
Kubla Khan sometime in the fall of 1797 and began revisions of it in the early spring of 1798.
Interestingly, although no original manuscript has been found, the Crewe Manuscript of Kubla Khan
was discovered in 1934. Currently, the Crewe Manuscript is the earliest know version of Kubla Khan
and is believed to have been written around 1810. After Lord Byron s zealous response to Kubla
Khan, Coleridge published the poem for the first time in May of 1816 under Byron s publisher John
Murray. While the poem was initially bound with two of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Coleridge firmly believed that Kubla Khan was an incomplete poem, and therefore, spent his entire
life continually revising and republishing it.
During the time that Coleridge composed Kubla Khan, biographer Richard Holmes documents that
Coleridge must have been producing something like fifty lines of blank verse a day, and a tremendous
sense of liberation cam over him. In the late 1790s, Coleridge resided in the Quantock Hills of
Somerset near his close friend and fellow poet William Wordsworth. Holmes argues that,
it was some time during this first fortnight in October 1797 that he probably went for a long solitary
walk along the coast to Lynton, exhausted from his labours, and, taken ill on his return journey,
stopped off at Ash Farm above Culborne Church, where he wrote Kubla Khan.
After writing his first draft of Kubla Khan, Coleridge was unable to finish the poem to his liking, and
consequently, dismissed it as an incomplete fragment. On October 14th, 1797, Coleridge wrote a letter
to his friend John Thelwall, stating,
my mind feels as if it ached to behold know something great something one indivisible and it is only
in the faith of this that rocks or waterfalls, mountains or caverns give me the sense of sublimity or
majesty!
For the remainder of his life, Coleridge believed that he was unable to aptly reproduce this sense of
sublimity or majesty.

Jim Costello s Dynamics Of Desire
Jim Costello was born in Rochester, New York, and when he was a young boy his passion for art
showed (Jim Costello). Costello studied at the Ecole St. Luc art school during high school, and then
continued his art career in college. The following years of teaching, Costello moved his family to
northwest Virginia, and started to paint the landscapes and the different scenery around his house. In
Costello art work you can tell that he is a modern painter because he uses different shapes and bright
colors to bring the viewers eyes directly to his paintings. The title of his show called Dynamics of
Desire: The Evocative Works of Jim Costello make it seem as if his painting will have some type of
sexual content (Jim Costello). Although his painting displays naked women, he is trying to capture the
spirt and energy that animates the Shenandoah Valley. This explains why in many of his painting there
is a naked woman and a landscape of the valley because he is trying to display mother nature in his
work. He does not finish his paintings in one setting, he does them over a period of years because his
art work is in a very large scale. The painting, Blanton, was finished in 1997 and it was a landscape of
mountains and a lake. The colors in this painting are so vibrant, that the blues, greens, and the browns
go directly to the viewer s eyes. This artist has so many elements of art in this piece, with the lines and

Luan: Haha I know, right!? It seemed like the perfect timing for it.
Maddy: So tell me about this project of yours; what is it exactly?
Luan: Well one of my courses required students to pick a topic that really interested them to write
about during the semester. It s going to be a pretty long project, so the topic was really important. I
wanted to write and explore about something that was intriguing yet feasible and phobias really hit the
sweet spot. Not to mention that I always have been fascinated by them...

what a phobia is? Just fear?
Luan: A lot of people think that Maddy. But according to the American Psychology Association, all
phobias are anxiety disorders, lumped in the same class as post traumatic stress disorder and panic
disorder, among others. And anxiety disorders are, fundamentally, based on fear. But this does not
mean that phobias equal fear.

Why We Should Banning Books Be Banned
Banning books has been happening for a very long time within the education system. Parents and
other adults are demanding that specific books stay out of the grasp of their innocent children, even
high school students. This paper will be covering three reasons why certain books shouldn t be banned
just because parents don t agree with the material inside the pages. The main points I will cover are,
first: knowledge shouldn t be kept from one age group just because some people don t agree with the
subject matter. Second: Many challenged books could help people get a abetter idea of the world they
live in and their place in it. Last: books are a portal to different life experiences and reading
encourages empathy and social emotional development. Expanding on that first point is the fact that
parents may control what their own children read, but don t have a right to restrict what books are
available to other people. You may ask others not to judge you for how you raise your kids, but that
goes the same for books in school libraries. Parents who don t like specific books can have their kids
opt out of an assignment without infringing on the rights of others. ... Show more content on

Immigration Laws And The United States Essay
About 28 million individuals moved to the United States between the years 1880 and the late 1920 s.
The newcomers living in different nations all through the world chose to leave there foundation of
source and move to the United States for different reasons, some of which included flexibility from
political and religious mistreatment, starvation, or to experience the American Dream of perceived
economic opportunity. Once settled; immigrants were often stereotyped and discriminated against
because they were distinctive . Social Justice was nonexistent as Employers often took advantage of
immigrants, men were paid less than other workers and women were paid less than men. (Library of
Congress, 1990) The numbers of newcomers dropped dramatically in 1924, when Congress passed
highly restrictive immigration legislation. (Bankston, Carl L., 1999). As time has passed the United
States Immigration laws have made it increasing more desirable for individuals to seek illegal entry as
opposed to the legal process. High control and subject to numerical confinements and qualification
prerequisites comprising of essential family or work relationship and absence of access to
compassionate security, for example, shelter or refugee status have played a noteworthy role.
(American Immigration Council, March 2012)
Although the United States has historically shown ambivalence toward newcomers who enter the
country illegally, the government put forth massive government efforts to curb illegal

Bojack Horseman Personality Disorder
BoJack Horseman is the main character in the animated sitcom BoJack Horseman. The show follows
BoJack, an anthropomorphic horse, through his life as a washed up actor living in Hollywood, or as

BoJack s depression, likely caused by his abusive childhood, manifests itself in his alcoholism, self

alcoholic, and routinely abused BoJack verbally. Beatrice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Typically severe depression is characterized with suicidal thoughts, and patients with mild depression

Horseman is suffering with moderate depression. Although BoJack is diagnosed with depression,
bipolar disorder can be ruled out because he does not experience episodes of mania. His depression is
unipolar, so as the depressive episode ends, he returns to a normal emotional level. If he were to have
bipolar disorder, a manic episode would involve being overly excited with a heavily inflated self

discuss a little bit of why these people do the things they do and what kind of cure there is for these
crimes, if any. It is important to know why we cannot assume one is bad news, such as a sex offender
and to find out for sure. The true meaning of you cannot judge a book by its cover will be revealed in
this paper with many examples.
Society and policy makers have long struggled with finding effective ways to protect the public from
sex offenders. A sex offender is a person who has been convicted of certain sex offense crimes.
Examples of sex offenses include:
Sexual conduct with a minor
Sexual assault
Sexual assault of spouse
Molestation of a child
Continuous sexual abuse of a child
Infamous crimes against nature
Lewd and lascivious acts
Indecent exposure/Public sexual indecenct
Taking a child for the purpose of prostitution
Sexual exploitation of a minor
Incest
Kidnapping
Aggravated assault
Murder
Unlawful imprisonment
Burglary (when the offense includes evidence of sexual motivation) (FindLaw, n.d.)
There is no such thing as a typical sex offender. Sex offenders can come in both male and female,

How Did Henry Ford Impact Society
Introducing the man who practically built America. Henry Ford was an automobile manufacturer who,
in 1903, established the Ford Motor Company. In 1908, he created the Ford Model T car in the shed
located behind his home. This car was the most popular car of all time due to its cheap prices
(compared to early automobiles) and it s constant availability (Ford Model T). Henry Ford
transformed the automobile from an invention to an innovation and it continues to affect our lives
today. When the Model T was introduced to the people of America, it revolutionized literature forever.
The idea of an affordable car for the everyday man captured the imagination of authors and
filmmakers. Throughout the 1920s, the Model T was featured in dozens of movies, television series,
and books. Even today, thousands of pieces are shown to have cars originate from this American
innovation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a child, Ford was passionate about disassembling and then reassembling timepieces. In 1879, Ford
was an apprentice machinist, where he would operate and service several steam engines. Nine years
later, he became an engineer with the Edison Illuminating Company and finally had enough time and
money to experiment with gasoline engines. He invented the Ford Quadricycle, test drove it, and then
began improvements. These improvements led to the making of the Model T, introduced on October 1,
1908. The Model T was just a more basic version of what cars are driven today: steering wheel on the
left, enclosed engine and transmission, four cylinders cast in a solid block. All of this was just eight
hundred and twenty five dollars, which would be twenty two thousand, four hundred and seventy
dollars today. The price dropped every year, so the Model T soon became the best selling vehicle in

Career Goals For A Professional Career Goal
There must to be sacrifice and dedication on the road to obtaining a degree. That sacrifice and
dedication doubles when the student is a middle aged adult with a full time job and other financial
obligations. It is not easy juggling a full time job and being a full time student. The art of time
management is a valuable tool to master and will definitely help with balancing everything and getting
all tasks completed. Professional Career Statement Creating a professional career goal statement can
significantly impact a resume. According to (Starzee, 2012) a professional career goal statement
allows the candidate an opportunity to provide the employer a synopsis of the value they intend to
bring to the organization. Below is a professional goal statement for a Client Relationship
Professional: Engaging Client Relations Manager adept at evolving complex client proposals.
Expertly skilled in various business operations including client billing conflict resolution and the
implementation of effective business policies and procedures. Proficient in developing and nurturing
productive client relationships. The rationale for the above professional career goal statement is that it
shows that the professional is more than capable of performing the duties and also has the highest
level of personal skill to interact with clients. In Depth Analysis The jobs that I will be applying for
are managing others on the front lines of providing customer service. Jobs such as;

The Power Of Thinking Without Thinking By Malcolm Gladwell
Books are the most easily driven routes toward education. They present themselves differently to
different readers. We learn by what the dark words say on the bright pages. Authors that write
traditional textbooks are not really singled out in terms of recognition among individuals. However,
authors that talk to their readers but teach them simultaneously in books are the ones we tend to think
about and respect more. Malcolm Gladwell is a stellar example of the latter. This essay will contain
my findings on Malcolm Gladwell and his literature.
Malcolm Gladwell is a journalist, an author, and a public speaker. He s been a staff writer for The New
Yorker since he was 33. He has been featured in Time Magazine s 100 Most Influential People .
Malcolm Gladwell graduated the University of Toronto s Trinity College with a history degree in
1984. In 2005, he published a book that would not only be one of his best sellers, but would also
inspire others to study psychology. The name of that book is called : Blink; The Power of Thinking
Without Thinking.
Blink s overall synopsis contains a tactic that we use to make decisions everyday called thin slicing.
Gladwell often describes thin slicing as a decision made based on our undetected subconscious
opinions and biases. He shines a light of the fact that those decisions are often made within two
seconds and that our subconscious is a locked door. He relates thin slicing to mind reading based on
our memory of facial expressions and

Baseball As A Baseball Game
Baseball is a slow sport to watch if you re a spectator watching the game. It may even be slow while
playing the sport. As I m watching the boys get ready to start practice, I see conservations going on
within the baseball team. I see the boys joking around and having a good time before practice. Then,
you see Coach Asmus walk up and the boys get very silent and immediately start stretching. While,
the boys are stretching, the boys are very quiet and you see all the happiness go away. Seeing all the
laughter and happiness leave the boys faces was really sad to witness. After, the boys have finished
their stretching they go run their foul poles. Some boys we re really pushing themselves when it came
to running their foul poles. While, others slowly run their foul pole and even some boys walked.
Coach Asmus yells, Come on boys. This is ridiculous. The boys took what Coach Asmus said like they
didn t even hear him. Coach Asmus you can tell at this point that he is annoyed. Coach Asmus gathers
them all up together before taking infield and outfield. Coach Asmus tells them, We HAVE to take this
practice seriously. We have a BIG game tomorrow. One of the players ask and his name is Morgan,
What can we do to win tomorrow? Coach Asmus says, Let s start by ALL of us working hard and
giving it our 100%. Yes sir. The boys say together. The boys start running to their positions on the
field, ready to officially start practice. As the boys are taking their infield and outfield

Shared Team Leadership Paper Shared Team Leadership For high performance team, shared leadership is important as a project moves through the phases of initiation, early phase, later phase and close. Wu and Cormican (2016) found that managers should focus on developing strong internal leadership patterns at the early stage to maximize team effectiveness, where shared leadership is prominent with team members interacting, cooperating and exchanging information. As the team advances into later phase, leadership would turn to focus on few individuals who might consistently demonstrate greater leadership competence. In addition, the leader would benefit from the effective use of the Hill model for team leadership ( A framework, 2013), in making decision (to take action or to continue to monitor the situation) and assessing appropriate actions (internal relation related, internal task related, or external action). • 4. Comparing Confucianism and Christianity Essay Comparing Confucianism and Christianity The premise of Confucian teachings are centered around the idea of Jen or the ³virtue of humanity (Ching 68).² To accomplish this divinity, five relationships must be honored: ruler and minister, father and son, husband and wife, elder and younger brother, and friend and friend (Hopfe). These relationships led a push for a revolution of the political system to adopt the methods of Jen. Confucius sought to revive the ancient Chinese culture by redefining the importance of society and government. With wealth one achieved power. These are the essentials to living a good life (O Briére). However, relationships between men is the most desirable. These aspects are the embodiment of Li. Li was love for authority and respect for others (Alexander). Christianity also looks at wealth in a slightly different manner. ³At the heart of the Christian faith and at its source of its traditions in Scripture is the belief in a covenant (Carmen 17).² It is the promise between God and the individual that ensures (through faith) that one s kindly actions on Earth will be divinely awarded. The five relationships of Jen are also honored in Christianity with references to ³Honor thy father and mother, for this is the first commandment with promise (Ephesians 6:1).² It is prevalent that Christianity and Confucius are very similar in their philosophy. Allegany County began shortly before the end of slavery in New York and underwent its early period of development in a time when abolitionism, moral reform movements, and related social developments were occurring across Western New York and other parts of the country. This paper will draw on a variety of sources, including archival documents, biographies, monographs, and information provided by local historians, to present an understanding of the developments which occurred. Allegany County began in the period of the gradual abolition of slavery in New York. Significant American settlement in the area began near the arrival of the 19th century and the county was declared in 1806. Self determination, which is the idea that a people that possess some sort of unanimous identity have the right to pursue their own political interests and form their own state, is most commonly considered the primary justification for secession (Clark 739). However, there is an ongoing debate as to when a people can put this notion of self determination into practice. The extent of self determination that a people has is one of the major factors that determines whether or not a secession can be successful. Jackie himself is a very masculine male expects his son to be the same, he wants his son to be masculine do wrestling, football, or boxing but does not want him to do ballet because he is ashamed of it it is definitely not something that he would ever do. 4. When we arrived at the beginning of our steep private drive, he put the car in park and went to get the mail. And while he was getting the mail I took the time to hop into the front seat. When he opened the driver door he simply said, No absolutely not . I was relentless and begged him to let me drive up the hill. I had my Temporary Permit I knew what I was doing, or at least I thought I did. Driving always fascinated me. In this paper, comparative analysis of strategies and views of Katha Pollitt and Aaron Devor, about the determinants which define roles of genders in a society will be discussed. The central idea of the paper is that gender has specific roles which are defined through their innate characteristics and social constructs. Since the start of feminist movements, a debate has arised on the behaviors and roles of genders. Feminist movements were purposed to achieve, the rights of women based on their roles equal to men in the society. Which led to debate over differences between abilities and preferences of gender that are the basis of different and unequal roles of males and females. In addition to that people around that child will justify these sterotype behaviors by defining them as natural roles which result from differences in hormones and genes. As she says, we are told that the source of these robust preferences must lie outside society in prenatal hormonal influences, brain chemistry, genes and that feminism has reached its natural limits. (Pollitt,1). According to Devor, all female were biologically destined to have role of maternity and household. There is a reason behind certain differences between biological structures and cognitive behaviors of males and females. Hence, females were predisposed to have role of maternity and children care while males do not have this role. He believes in hierarchical appraisals of natural roles of males and females. If an individual performs duties which are naturally attributed to opposite gender, that individual will not receive encouraging response from society (Devor,674). Girls and boys are born different because of biological evolutions and gene differences, thus different gender attributes start before birth. (O Brien Williams 2013,212) The term feminization of poverty originates from about 1970s debates in United States, which was focused on welfare and single mothers. • 33. Gender Identity Is The Assumption Of There Being Binary... Binary Logic: Another issue with research pertaining to sexual identity is the assumption of there being binary categories, such as gay/straight, male/female, etc. Research in this area is generally dichotomized (e.g. male/female, gay/straight), which can foster rigid identity assumptions, foster homogeneous understanding of research particiapnts and results, foster a divide between normal and deviant behavior, as well as mask inherent variation in different groups and populations (Johnson Repta, 2012). Bringing greater awareness to the complexity of sexual and gender identity could have transformative effects on how research is conducted. Some scholars in the social work field have begun to acknowledge and recognize the increasing evidence that sexual and gender identity are not binary categories, as well that categories might not even be an accurate way of understanding these phenomena (Burdge, 2007; Roche Gringeri, 2010). While an understanding that the binary model is flawed has gained some traction in social work research, the majority of researchers continue to ignore and disregard this possibility, consequently reinforcing this erroneous dichotomous paradigm (Rassi, 2011). It has also been noted that critiques from postmodern, poststructural, and queer theory perspectives, as well as from individuals or groups (e.g. transgender, bisexual, intersex) who do not fit neatly into binary categories continue to remain essentially absent within social work ... Coleridge firmly believed that Kubla Khan was an incomplete poem, and therefore, spent his entire life continually revising and republishing it. During the time that Coleridge composed Kubla Khan, biographer Richard Holmes documents that Coleridge must have been producing something like fifty lines of blank verse a day, and a tremendous sense of liberation cam over him. In the late 1790s, Coleridge resided in the Quantock Hills of Somerset near his close friend and fellow poet William Wordsworth. Holmes argues that, it was some time during this first fortnight in October 1797 that he probably went for a long solitary walk along the coast to Lynton, exhausted from his labours, and, taken ill on his return journey, stopped off at Ash Farm above Culborne Church, where he wrote Kubla Khan. After writing his first draft of Kubla Khan, Coleridge was unable to finish the poem to his liking, and consequently, dismissed it as an incomplete fragment. On October 14th, 1797, Coleridge wrote a letter to his friend John Thelwall, stating, my mind feels as if it ached to behold know something great something one indivisible and it is only in the faith of this that rocks or waterfalls, mountains or caverns give me the sense of sublimity or majesty! Parents and other adults are demanding that specific books stay out of the grasp of their innocent children, even high school students. This paper will be covering three reasons why certain books shouldn t be banned just because parents don t agree with the material inside the pages. The main points I will cover are, first: knowledge shouldn t be kept from one age group just because some people don t agree with the subject matter. Second: Many challenged books could help people get a abetter idea of the world they live in and their place in it. Last: books are a portal to different life experiences and reading encourages empathy and social emotional development. Expanding on that first point is the fact that parents may control what their own children read, but don t have a right to restrict what books are available to other people.
