This presentation discusses anemia in teenage girls. Anemia is defined as a decreased level of hemoglobin in the blood below the reference level for age and sex. It is a sign of an underlying condition rather than a disease itself. Common causes of anemia include iron deficiency, vitamin B12 or folate deficiency, blood loss, and genetic disorders like sickle cell anemia and thalassemia. Symptoms include fatigue, weakness, dizziness, and paleness. Treatment depends on the underlying cause but may include oral iron supplements, vitamin injections, blood transfusions, or medications. Maintaining a healthy diet with iron-rich and vitamin-rich foods can help prevent and treat anemia.
Iron deficiency anemia is one of the nutritional deficiency anemia, and the most common microcytic hypochromic anemia. it is also one of the common anemia in Pakistan. Pregnant and lactating are most commonly affected.
Anemia (pronounced /əˈniːmiə/, also spelled anaemia or anæmia; from Ancient Greek ἀναιμία anaimia, meaning "lack of blood") is a decrease in normal number of red blood cells (RBCs) or less than the normal quantity of hemoglobin in the blood.[1][2] However, it can include decreased oxygen-binding ability of each hemoglobin molecule due to deformity or lack in numerical development as in some other types of hemoglobin deficiency.

Babitha's Notes on anemia's & bleeding disordersBabitha Devu
This note will help you in knowing about childhood anemia's like iron deficiency, SCD etc.. also some of the bleeding disorders are also explained in this.
Anemia is one of the most commonly seen condition predominantly in women due to various causes such as some chronic infection conditions and all. There are different types of anemias are there here we discuss mainly about Iron deficiency and sickle cell anemia.
Certainly! Let's cover a brief lesson on Anemia:
**Title: Understanding Anemia: A Comprehensive Overview**
**Introduction:**
Anemia is a common medical condition characterized by a decrease in the number of red blood cells or a deficiency in the amount of hemoglobin. These vital components are responsible for carrying oxygen to tissues throughout the body. Let's delve into the key aspects of anemia.
**I. Types of Anemia:**
1. **Iron-Deficiency Anemia:**
- Most prevalent type, caused by insufficient iron in the body.
- Common among women, especially during pregnancy.
2. **Vitamin Deficiency Anemias:**
- Lack of essential vitamins like B12 or folic acid.
- Affects the production of red blood cells.
3. **Hemolytic Anemias:**
- Occurs when red blood cells are destroyed faster than the body can replace them.
- May be inherited or acquired.
**II. Causes and Risk Factors:**
- **Dietary Deficiencies:**
- Inadequate intake of iron, vitamin B12, or folic acid.
- **Chronic Diseases:**
- Conditions like chronic kidney disease or inflammatory disorders can contribute.
- **Genetic Factors:**
- Some forms of anemia are hereditary.
**III. Signs and Symptoms:**
- **Fatigue and Weakness:**

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
13. Components of Whole Blood Plasma(55% of whole blood) WBC and platelets(<1% of whole blood) Formed elements Erythrocytes(45% of whole blood) Withdraw blood and place in tube Centrifuge 1 2
46. absent or faulty globin chain in hemoglobin Erythrocytes are thin, delicate, and deficient in hemoglobin Thalassemia
47. Sickle-cell anemia results from a defective gene Codes for an abnormal hemoglobin called hemoglobinS (HbS) This defect causes RBCs to become sickle-shaped in low oxygen situations
59. Oral Iron Therapy Ideal dose – 100mg per day (prophylactic) Ferrous gluconate, ferrous fumarate, ferrous succinate, ferrous sulphate, ferrous ascorbate citrate Rise in Hb – 0.8 gm / dl / week Side effects -G I upset most common
60.
61. Iron from animal sources is more easily absorbed than iron from plant foods.
62. Vitamin C increases the uptake of iron, so add foods containing vitamin C (eg. orange juice, tomato salad)
63. Lack of vitamin B12 can contribute to anemia, intake of foods containing vitamin B12, such as beef, pork, eggs, cheese and milk.
