2. INTRODUCTION
We are Flashpoint Flux made up of Matt,Will and Freddie.
Matt- Director and Sound
Freddie- Camera and Sound
Will- Runner
3. TIMING
We think both adverts should be around 30 seconds long, so that all the
information can fit in. It is important that our audience hears as much about the
school as possible so that they have an understanding about what happens here.
It is also important that the advert does not go on for too long that our audience
starts to lose interest. So it is also key we keep it short and sweet.
4. TARGET AUDIENCE
Our target audience for the Lower School advert is middle aged parents, this is
because they are the people that usually make the decision about which school
their son or daughter attends. We have chosen to put the advert out on local
radio, such as “Forest FM” as we feel that people within our target audience are
likely to listen to it.
Our target audience for Sixth Form is teenagers 15-17 years old as we feel at this
age, young people have a large say into what college they want to attend. For this
reason we have decided to put our advert out on “Capital FM” this is because we
feel that using this station means we can reach as much of our target audience as
possible.
5. MUSIC
We are using up beat music that is friendly and calm. This is because the music will
relate to the way they perceive the school, so it is important that it is jolly and up
beat.
6. PLAN FORTHE ADVERT
During the advert we are planning on having a friendly female voiceover that
people can clearly understand and will take the time to listen to.We are thinking
of using a teacher, this is to reduce costs but also having similar effect on the
audience. Another reason is because the teacher will know about the school and
can add information to the advert if they feel it is necessary.
Our script incorporates our school motto and also tells people how to find out
more on the school website. We feel that the school website holds much more
information and may attract more potential students.
7. SCRIPT
Our script includes lots of rhetorical questions to get people thinking about what
kind of education they are looking for.
It also features words like “you” and “your”, despite these being forceful it makes
the listener feel as if we are talking to them directly and as if they are the perfect
candidate for our school.
In the lower school we have ensured that the audience knows about the high
standard of education here and also describes the qualified teachers that work
alongside students.
In the Sixth Form advert we have told the audience of our 99% pass rate and that
we offer over 30 programmes of study. This is to show that the sixth form meets
everyone's needs no matter what interests them.
8. BUDGET
Our production costs remain minimal as we are using the school’s camera
equipment and editing software to create the advert. This means that the creation
of the advert will not cost us. Also, the music we are using is free and non-
copyright.
In addition, the fact we are using a teacher for the voiceover means we do not
have to pay an actor to do it for us, this reduces the costs significantly.
The only thing that will cost us are the radio slots that we choose for the advert.
We are estimating that the cost will be between £400-£600 towards ensuring that
we get the best slots and get as many aired as possible.
9. SLOTTIMING
Lower School- We are thinking of putting our lower school adverts out in the
morning between 7.30am- 8.30am.This is because we feel that this is when adults
are listening to the radio during breakfast time and the school run
Sixth Form- For the sixth form advert we are thinking of putting it out in the
afternoon between the times of 4pm-5pm as we feel this is when most teenagers
have returned from school and may listen to the radio leisurely or during
homework.
10. LEGAL/ETHICAL
It is important that all facts and statistics within our advert are true and nothing
is misleading or false. This is because when the advert is put out to the public it
is likely many people will research it to find out if it is true.
It is also important that none of the points made within our advert can be
considered offensive and that the advert is inclusive of all people.
We have also made sure that nothing within the advert is copyright and that all
of the points featured are our own .
11. LOCATION FOR RECORDING
We decided the best location for our radio advert recording was the
radio room at our school. RSR LIVE is a multi-recording space located in
the site of Ringwood school. This is where we will film and record our
footage and audio allowing us to get the best sound because of its
good acoustics.
When doing a recce of this room we discovered that there were lots of
loose wires that could be trodden on or tripped over. There was also
lots of expensive equipment that could be damaged or broken.
To reduce this risk, we will be extremely cautious of where we tread
and we will bring no water or liquids in the room.
12. CONCLUSION
In conclusion we feel that our advert meets our audience’s needs and gives the
best possible opportunity for maximum footfall at the School
We hope you have enjoyed our presentation.
