2. Treatment
Sixth Form
Within our advert there will be two Ringwood Sixth Form students
reminiscing about the open day last year. They go onto to talk about how it
helped them make a decision about their future.
The advert will be approximately 30 seconds
Our target audience will be year 10s and 11s. We believe when you get to this
age, it’s the children who choose their future options, so our advert is centred
around them.
3. Treatment
Ringwood School
We decided to take a different approach with this advert. We felt that choice
of secondary school is mainly down to the parent due to the young age of the
students.
Because of this our advert cuts to a family having a chat about going to
Ringwood around the dinner table with the child and parent both agreeing
on going to the open evening.
The target audience were year 5 & 6 parents with the students being
secondary audience.
4. Treatment
Location/Budget
We did some research of where to record this and found that the a
professional studio in Bournemouth would cost £40 per hour which we would
use for about two hours.
However, here at Ringwood, we have our own radio stations which we could
use free of charge.
We decided to use the RSR for this reason.
Our actors will be close friends at our school who would do this free of charge
also
5. Budget
We did some research and found out for a 30 second time slot on a radio
station, it would cost £2 per thousand listeners. We would preferably have
our advertisement at 8 am during the school run. This should cost around
£500 on a local station.
8. Equipment/Actors
We are not going to be needing a lot of equipment for our
advertisements.
We will use the microphone it the RSR to help get the optimum audio
quality for our ad.
Sixth form students, Tom Cutler and James Pugh have agreed to be our
actors for the sixth form ad.
9. Contingency Plan
If, for some odd reason, we couldn’t use the RSR or any of our actors, we
would use a Vox pop of teachers and students on their thoughts of the
school. In case of emergency we would just use our phones which has an
app to record this. We could ask students answer the questions on the
spot or in a quiet classroom.
10. Code of Conduct
Within our ads we will make sure that there are not any expletives in our
script or said by an of the actors. If this were to happen OFCOM would not
allow for use to broadcast, particularly before watershed.
We will not defame ay other organisations or competitive schools within
our ad (libel).
11. Why Us?
We feel that going with Moonlight Studios would be the obvious decision.
This is because of our intense promotion of this great school and sixth
form, which we are sure that no one else has done.
We also would have one of the lowest overheads due to our little
spending, which you wouldn’t get with other groups.
We know that you will make the right decision and go with Moonlight ;)
Thank you
