1. Treatment
Sixth Form
Within our advert there will be two Ringwood Sixth Form students reminiscing about
the open day last year. They go onto to talk about how it helped them make a
decision about their future.
The advert will be 30 seconds long so we would have to pay for this slot on Capital FM
out of our budget which would cost about £200 for the 30 seconds but this would
vary depending on the amount of listeners.
Our target audience will be year 10s and 11s. We believe when you get to this age, it’s
the children who choose their future options, so our advert is centred around them.
To help target these we would play both of our adverts at 8:30 AM and around 3:30
PM so people would hear it whilst on the school run.
The rest of the budget for this advert would go on paying for the studio which would
be £80 (£40 per hour for 2 hours) and we would give the actors some of the budget.
2. Treatment
Ringwood School
We decided to take a different approach with this advert. We felt that choice of
secondary school is mainly down to the parent due to the young age of the students.
Because of this our advert cuts to a family having a chat about going to Ringwood around
the dinner table with the child and parent both agreeing on going to the open evening.
The target audience were year 5 & 6 parents with the students being secondary audience,
this was because of the fact that the parents are more likely to make the decision. We will
target this audience specifically to ensure we get as many people to the open evening as
possible.
The only costs we would have would be for the studio which would be £80 (£40 per hour
for 2 hours) and we would give money to the actors which wouldn’t use too much of our
budget. The rest of the budget would go into paying for the time slot on Capital FM.
