KEYSTONE INCORPORATED
INTRODUCING OUR COMPANY…

Our Motto: KeyStone Incorporated, the KEY to success
Our Treatment
• We are going to be creating two advertisements for a commercial radio station, of which we will be
promoting the open days of Ringwood School and Ringwood Sixth Form. The running time for each
advertisement will be 30 seconds, where we will be encouraging students and parents to come to the open
evenings.
• In the advert for the school, we will be promoting the safe environment, fun, and success of students, in
order to encourage parents to want their children to attend Ringwood School.
• The radio advert for the sixth form will be more mature and will persuade people to attend the open days.
• Both advertisements will be guided by chirpy background theme that is suitable for the advert and any
voices that need to be heard over the top.
• The school advert will consist of different opportunities available for students throughout their school life,
success of results, the schools environment and green landscapes, stressing the importance of the ethos
policy as well as the varied subject range and diverse teaching styles.
• The Sixth form advert will include all of these key parts, however we will also emphasise the support that is
given to students from staff in preparation for their next steps. It is also important that we include the ways
in which the sixth form achieves success.
Our Treatment - BUDGET
• We have been given a budget of £2000 and it is important for us to stick to this.
• Suggested recording locations are Active Music Recording studio in Poole. The minimum booking time for
this is 1 hour and costs £75. Since it is a short advert, we’d likely only need to book an hour slot taking £75
out of our budget. The studio is local so travel costs wont need to be factored.
• Realistically, we will be recording our school radio advert in the RSR studio. This is very convenient for us
since it is local and free.
• We see our radio advert being played on stations like Capital FM and Heart FM as these are local stations to
attract local attention and may have advertising to increase audience exposure. Obviously we would have to
consider the cost of this within our budget.
The Script
Chosen Audio
Hey! – BenSound
Creative Minds – BenSound
The first audio – Hey! From Bensound will be used in the
backing of the school advert. We have chosen this
because it gives a positive energy and leaves the parents
and children knowing that Ringwood School is a happy
place for students to be.
Creative Minds will be used for the 6th Form advert, as it is
a more calming and inspiring track and will engage the
target audience of students to the advert and encourage
them to attend the open evening.
These backing tracks are suitable for our adverts as it
makes it more appealing and, interesting to listen to and
more professional sounding.
These are all light, upbeat songs to keep the listener
engaged and enhance the advert, yet not overpowering in
order to understand the information playing over the top.
RECCE
The location we will be using for our Ringwood School
advert is the Ringwood School Radio (RSR) studio. This is
the ideal location because it is on school site so we have
easy access to the recording studio and the equipment the
school can offer us. In addition, this is a free way of
recording our first advertisement, and allows us to stick
well within the budget of £2,000. We will record the school
advert here since it is very convenient and accessible for us
as well as our voiceover artist. In addition to this, the RSR
studio is a quiet location which has
been set up specifically for the radio
that is aired throughout the school.
This means that we will have to
arrange a time when the radio is not
live and get the permission from staff.
RECCE
For our Sixth Form advert we will
be recording at one of our team
members home studios. This is because
the male voiceover artist is a relative of
hers so it is convenient for us to record
this at her house, as well as being cost-
free. Additionally, there would be no
travel cost involved, therefore helping
us fit within the budget. This studio has
all of the necessary equipment to
record the voiceovers, as well as having
an editing software available to us, and
is in a quiet location meaning that we
will have no disturbances and the
quality of the voiceovers will be clear
and easily understandable.
Risk Assessment
It is important that we analyse any potential risks for our team. We have
analysed hazards such as the boxes and other items on the floor, wires
and plugs, as well as other technical elements that could put the team
members in risk. We know the necessary precautions to prevent these.
Production Schedule
• As you can see, we have
planned the timings for our
recording sessions, therefore
all team members will know
the plans for the recording of
the advert. We have listed
both locations, shooting times
and directions to these
locations.
Equipment and Actors…
• Mixing Desk
• Microphone
• Headphones
• Computer
• Editing software
Our actor will be one of our team members, as well as a relative who works in this industry and has experience
producing voiceovers.
The reason we have chosen a female , younger actor for our voiceover in the school advert is because we think
that stereotypically, this is more welcoming for the younger students.
We have chosen a male, older actor in the sixth form advert because a more mature voice is relatable for the
older students.
Contingency Plan
• If the home studio isn’t available, we will record both our School and Sixth Form adverts in the RSR studio at
school.
• We have arranged a date to record our male voiceover, however if the plans don’t follow through and he is
no longer available, we will use one of our team members or friends to step in.
Legal/Ethical Issues and Constraints
It is important to ensure that our adverts do not discriminate against:
• Age
• Gender
• Social Class
• Race/Ethnicity
Other Legal Issues that need to be considered are:
• Copyright
• Violence/Sex/Language
• Children
Regulatory Bodies – ASA, OFCOM
Conclusion
• We will effectively promote the school in order to attract the
maximum amount of new pupils and parents to attend the open
evening and join either Ringwood School or Sixth Form.
• Our company delivers a well rounded perspective of the school, with
all of the necessary information and we will grab and sustain the
interest of our target audience with our creative and fun radio
advertisements.
