This document discusses strategies for independent learning with new technologies including being an early adopter and sharing knowledge and experiences with colleagues as well as developing external networks through social media and groups to stay up to date. It also lists meetings, publications, projects and volunteer opportunities as ways to promote the use of new technologies for learning.

8. Self access, independent learning, using the technology largely on your own and with the support from a few colleagues. A few early adopters are needed, enthusiastic about learning, willing to test out the new technology and to share their knowledge, experiences, and resources. Develop external networking as there is no other way you can really keep up with the technology. My main networking sources for languages include Twitter, Talkabout Primary mfl, my Resources for Languages Diigo group, mfl resources yahoo group. But why won’t they see what I see?
