The document outlines a student's fashion marketing promotion project idea. The student aims to bring together various skills learned over their two-year course. They are passionate about fashion and want to showcase independent brands. Key influences include sustainable brands Urban Outfitters and Collusion that support charities and promote inclusiveness. Inspiration also comes from Instagram influencers who use creative editing and aesthetically pleasing feeds. The goal is for the audience to feel they can achieve their aspirations outside of boxes or norms. The style will use bright colors and a technique of overlaying foreground poses on background photos to feel positive, informative and sometimes critical. Choosing this challenging style allows the student to expand their skills.

1. Tellme in no more than 20
words,whatis your FMP idea?
A marketing promotion for an upcoming
fashion brand.
Why have you decided to make
it?
I have decided to make this as I believe it can
bring together a variety of skills that I have
learned and improved on in the two years of
this course. There is also a large amount of
content I can include, as well as exploring
different genres, so as a vague stem idea,
there is plenty of room to expand and create
an array of content
What aboutyour projectmakesit
importantto you?
What makes this project important to me is
that it is going into a passion I also have
which is fashion and putting pieces together. I
love co-ordinating looks with jewellery and
with lockdown having so many independent
brands coming out, this project I would feel
be appropriate to showcase and utilise them.
Outline some of the initial
influences on youridea/work and
some potentialresearch targets
(remember,research isn’t just a
paper-basedactivity)
Brands (clothing based)
Urban Outfitters
Collusion
When personally buying clothes, I have my
favourite brands that I love due to there,
quality, representation, their social media but
also the ideas they push, such as: being
environmentally friendly, associating
themselves with charities and regularly
connecting with them, the people they use to
promote their brand and whether they are
being inclusive. I feel like this is becoming
more important with current event, so the
timing for this project would be a wise idea for
promotion purposes.
Influencers (on social media)
@mimioocher on Instagram – love the
editing on photos, creativity
@barbarakristoffersen on Instagram –
aesthetically pleasing feed, promotes
ideas that I and many other people
believe in also (social issues).
What effect do you want to have
on your audience when they see
your project?
I want the audience to feel that they can
become what they aspire in terms of the
clothes. People feel as if they have to fit into
a certain box, especially with their
appearance and so I would like my work to
reflect being outside the box.
2. Describethe tone/mood/style of
your project[which production
techniques/characteristics are
you employing?]
I want the style for this to be very vibrant and
‘loud’ using bright colours.
Recently I have been liking a technique
where there is a photo in the background, but
has a similar pose in the foreground,
influencers have been using this recently in
brand promotions so I think this would be a
good incorporation to my project.
The mood presented within my work should
be very bright and positive by also being
informing, and at sometimes critical
Why have you decided to make
your projectin this style?
I have decided to make this project in this
style as it is something I don’t normally do
myself. This is allowing me to challenge
myself as well as my skills, expanding their
difficulty also in the process.
