2. Ranke s Essay On Understood In History
Progress and History as told by Ranke and Walser
Part 1: In Ranke s essay How the Concept of Progress is to Be Understood in History , he writes
that history is defined by the sentiments of those living during the time. Each epoch can be judged
by their special tendency , its own existence and its own identity . He believed that generations
cannot be compared, but have to be looked upon individually. They can be criticized or praised but
not in relation to other time spans because each epoch is immediate to God, and its value is not at
all based on what emulates from it . By examining particular eras, authentic history can be revealed.
Ranke makes it very clear that history is not influenced by a universally guided will , nor is it
predestined. The past is not determined by God, but by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For Walser, he focuses heavily on a bright future for Germany. After the Holocaust, he felt that
many people were exploiting what happened in order to further shame the Germans. By doing
this, Germans were not truly able to move forward as they were held back by guilt. Walser
admits he finds it unbearable to make German history end in a product of catastrophe, however
bad its recent course has been . In this way, he recognizes what occured but intends to move past
in towards a brighter future. For him, history is not always something to be proud of, nor is it
something to look back upon. He heavily criticizes the Holocaust memorial in Berlin because it
constantly reminds of what happened yet makes Germans feel as if they have a clearer conscious.
A perpetual reminder does nothing but perhaps create negative nationalism , and all that can do is
create an unfavorable view of the history that wasn t bad. Both Ranke and Walser believe that
there are specific isolated events that can tell alot about the history of a place. However, they differ
in the way that Ranke wants to remember

Technical Advancement in the Field of Telecommunication The move into the Information Society
is driven by the market for new information and communications technologies and services. Whilst
the large number of technologies and services and their providers bring expectations of higher
economic growth, there has been a growing concern about the social, ethical, cultural, political and
economic aspects of the coming society. For some time there has been a considerable interest in the
prospects of obtaining a sustainable development through the use of telecommunication

Wireless Communications: Explosive Growth.
Explosive growth of wireless communications technology continues as the industry experiences
new subscribers and lower prices for services. The U.S. market had 100 million wireless
subscribers in year 2000, a 16.2 percent rise from 1999 of 86 million. In 1993, there were only
16 million wireless subscribers, a rise of 525 percent rise in subscribers over 7 years. Market
penetration rose 33 percent in 2000. In 1993, market penetration was only 6 percent. The explosive
growth can largely be attributed to intensive competition which forces prices down and increase
cellular phone usage. In fact, the market for wireless voice services is becoming mature. Growth
rates and heavy competition are restricting profit margins.
The U.S. telecommunications services industry will continue to expand in 2001. The popularity of
wireless phones has increased the demand for wireless cellular telephone service and reduced the
demand for in building wired phones. Approximately 50 percent of the population has access to a
wireless phone. With increased usage of wireless phones, the cost structure should be affordable to
the greater population.
Cellular phone growth has fueled expansion of network infrastructure expansion as well. In mid
2000, there were 95,753 cellular sites. In 1999, there were 74,157 cellular sites. This is year to year

4. Solidarity In The Film Mcfarland Usa
Solidarity is the common belief that everyone is equal and it is everyone s job to help one
another, including the poor, sick, and vulnerable. It is knowing we are all equal under the eyes
of God. Regardless of race, economic status, religion, and languages, we are all the same.
Solidarity brings people together and strengthens them. The movie does a great job of
supporting this idea because it shows that no matter what your race is or the color of your skin,
anyone can be a great runner. One example of solidarity in the movie was when they first started
becoming a team. The other teams and runners made fun of them because they were mexican.
This rivalry bonded the boy s and pushed them to become good enough to beat them. Also, when
they are running in the race , if one person goes a little faster, that encourages another person to
do the same, and it becomes a cycle where the whole team is pushing each other and as a result
they all benefit from it. I think it is important to note that if they didn t run as a team, they would
no doubt achieve significantly less. When you are running as a team it pushes you to keep going,
whereas if you are alone you would just stop. Each individual member of the team is strengthened
by solidarity and as a result the whole team is stronger. Another example of solidarity in the... Show

really made me appreciate the value of hard work and perseverance. Another lesson it taught me is
how important teamwork is. They finally started making improvements once they became a team. A

6. My Experience Of My Grandparents s Home
Throughout my childhood my family made a habit of visiting my grandparents home as often as
we could. At six years old, I can remember getting excited on the short, fifteen minute drive to
their house as I sat in my pink floral car seat with my most recent creation from first grade art class
laying on my lap. As my father was driving, I would try to recall and make mental lists of all of the
stories I intended to share with my grandparents as soon as walked in their door. However, I
rarely got past my second anecdote before my grandmother would offer me a sample of her latest
bakingexperiment. Being a six year old with a quite a sweet tooth, I could never refuse her offer. I
always left my grandparents home with two things: my grandmother s rosy lipstick mark on my
forehead and a bag of sweets in my hands.
Around the holidays, my family s visits to my grandparent s home became more frequent as did
my grandmother s baking. On December afternoons, I would skip up the driveway in my bright
red ballet flats as my curly pigtails bounced, run up the front porch stairs, and burst through the
door. Around this time of the year, I knew to go straight to the kitchen, where I could almost
always find my grandmother standing over a glass mixing bowl full of ingredients for her next
creation.
I can remember running up to her and eagerly tugging on her apron to get her attention. No matter
how into her baking she was, my grandmother would always turn around straight away and hug me.

has been looked over again. Sacco and Vanzetti were italian immigrants and known anarchists
that were convicted for the crime of a paymaster and his guard. Rampant xenophobia is defined
as an irrational fear against foreigners. Since america was in the mindset of xenophobia it was
easy to blame Sacco and Vanzetti for the crime. The trial was effected by the mindset of america,

8. Tribal Relations Between The United States Essay
Introduction
Tribal relations to the United States are similar to that of a ward and his guardian. This sentiment
was proclaimed in 1831 in Cherokee Nation V. Georgia. The United States has been attempting to
integrate Native populations into the American systems since the first settlements arrived from
across the sea. Original tribal status was that of dependent domestic nations 1. Recent history has
changed the status of Native America to one of self determination and sovereignty. This status was
not determined by the US Constitution as Native Tribes were sovereign people before
Colonialization. The Unites States solidified the direct relationship between the Native Nations and
the Federal Government with the Indian Commerce Clause of 1879. The Commerce Clause
allowed Congress alone the power to regulate commerce between the United States and the Indian
tribes.2 The Marshall Trilogy, Chief Justice Marshall s Supreme Court cases designated the limits
of tribal sovereignty for the Native populations being surrounded by the newly formed United
States of America. In the first case, Johnson v. M Intosh, the Court recognized Indian nations do not
have a right to enter into treaties without federal approval.3 In Cherokee Nation v. Georgia, Chief
Justice Marshal defined the Indian nations as domestic dependent nations. 4 In the final case,
Worcester v. Georgia, the Supreme Court recognized the Native nation s right to self govern
releasing any control by the States

9. Shrek Personal Narrative
As Shrek, from the 2001 movie Shrek, once said, Onions have many layers. The first thing that
comes to my mind whenever I hear the word onion, is not the vegetable, or the tears that
normally come with said vegetable. Instead, I think of my best friend Onion. Onion, of course,
is not his real name, just some nickname whose origins have been lost through years of use.
People are not always what one first expects them to be, which leads to many surprises in life,
both pleasant and unpleasant. I had moved to a new town in a different state at the beginning of
my seventh grade year. There was no one I knew at my new school, so I sat in my first class and
did not talk to anyone, fearing that I would not make any friends. That is when I met Onion.
Onion was shorter than me, which means he was unbelievably short, and he was right in the
peak of his emo phase. I had just come from a string of private, Christian schools and no one I
knew ever wore so much dark clothing. Naturally, I was terrified of him. He sat right next to me
and said I don t know you. Are you new? I told him I was new and he immediately introduced
himself and the only other person sitting near us. I had been so afraid that he would be mean and

instance, Wai Tung is being by his mother to get so that he can give her a granddaughter against his
will. At the long last he gets married to satisfy his nagging parents to a female tenant. The movie
creates a notion that a womanneeds a man to achieve something in life because Wei Wei gets
married to a gay landlord because she needs a green card. In this case, the marriagebetween Tung
and Wei becomes a marriage of convenience. This scene portrays an aspect of China traditions
that women are tools of sex in that part where Mr. Gao insists on throwing a wedding banquet for
the couple. After the party and all the drinking, Wai Tung and Wei Wei are put to bed, and things
get out of hand. Also, the movie reveals another purpose of female in traditional Chinese culture,
which is human production. Tung s father doesn t care if his son is homosexual or not as long as
he gets a grandchild. Tung s parents only want Wei to give their familythe next generation.

The Threat of New Entrants within the Apparel Industry
Porter s five forces model seeks to portray how attractive an industry is in relation to the five

The threat of new entrants of the porter s five force model refers to the threat that potential new
competition pose to existing competition within the industry. This threat is the force of the model
which would shape the competitive nature of the fashion and apparel industry.

16. Nurses Care Of Patients With Multiple Problems And Needs
Registered nurses take care of patients with multiple problems and needs. Being able to
establish priorities by figuring out which needs take superiority over other needs is a crucial
role in our career. Prioritizing is the important to time management. It allows the registered nurse
to focus on tasks that require more of your attention, energy, and time. Some things may be left
undone, but they can be passed down to the oncoming shift, and some things can be delegated to
other team members. Nursing is a 24 hour job. Prioritizing patients should be done according to
Maslow hierarchy of needs, ABCs, stable versus unstable patients or the nursing process.
Maslow hierarchy of needs identifies different levels of human needs. There are five levels of
needs: physiological needs these are basic needs; they include both needs necessary for survival
and needs that are basic, but not mandatory for survival. Safety needs the things we need to give
us a sense of security; your property, your well being, and your family all provide you with your
safety needs. Love/Belonging needs your need to feel like you fit in. Esteem needs the things that
add to your ego. Self actualization the highest level of the hierarchy; insight that is complete when
you reach your full prospective and your ability to distinguish your full prospective. Nursing process

18. Neoconservatism In The United Sate
Together with understanding the beliefs of neoconservatism and the importance, the attractiveness
presents itself. With the disorder that can come from liberalism, conservatism proves to be a more
secure, orderly option. A mother with children would no longer have to worry about the barrage
of obscenity. In order for people to live in healthy society, while cultivating happiness,
consideration is key. By human nature, stepping on the toes of others is a popular outcome. With
order being provided by neoconservatism, the possibility of widespread would be a higher
probability.
Neoconservatism doesn t make its name by radical force, but a more middle of the road option.
Neoconservatism is only interested in providing what is best for society. In the bounds of the
United Sates, the objective is not to eliminate individual freedom, but to limit it. These limitations
are healthy medium for those concerned with individual freedom and order. Equally important is
that it provides a middle ground for those who are sided with individual and classical
conservatism. There is a substantial distrust of the government while maintaining a care for the
fabric of society. In like manner, the common good can be lost when individual freedom is left to
run rampant, and neoconservatism works to maintain it. Each person living in society should be
pleased on reasonable scale. That s not to say that everyone should get what they want, but there
should be a shared satisfaction. One of the most important goals in neoconservatism is to look after
other people. Neoconservatism is especially attractive for those who feel modern liberalism is
steering the country into a hole. Those who feel forgotten and not cared about are likely to find a
home in a neoconservative driven society.
Predicted Outcome A world dominated by neoconservatism would be drastically different than
what can be seen today. Today, the United States prides itself on the progression of its democratic
system and inclusion of all citizens. Outcomes of such emphasis on progression and inclusion
include programs put into place to support citizens. Some of these programs include welfare and
social security. Topics along the lines of protest, and other policy are also

20. Causes And Effects Of Tsunami
Imagine enjoying a peaceful day on the beach when, suddenly, the ocean recedes leaving a large
portion of ordinarily covered shore exposed. Curious children and even adults hurry to look at this
rarity. They spend a few minutes admiring the sea shells and ocean creatures that are normally
concealed from view by the sea. Suddenly, a wall of water comes rushing back, devouring
everything in its path. This scenario depicts the typical sequence of events during a tsunami. On
December 26, 2004, this tragedy occurred on the coast of Southeast Asia. This tsunami was
spawned by a large underwater earthquake(Larson). Catastrophes like these wreak havoc and
devastation upon coastal communities, thus resulting in billions in property damage, which harm
the environment and destroy human life. Both earthquakes and tsunamis release unleash powerful
forces that have devastating effects on Earth.
Earthquakes are the direct result of an abrupt release of energy beneath Earth s surface. This
discharge of tension is typically caused by the movement of tectonic plates. As plates move past
one another, the faults, or boundaries of the plates, come into contact. The rough and often jagged
edges of faults cause the plates to generate friction, or a resistance to the movement that is caused
by rough spots on their surfaces catching against each other (Silverstein et al. 43). The friction
between the tectonic plates builds up until it is finally released in the form of seismic waves. There

Technology Implementation Paper With today s economy being in such disarray, companies are
entertaining ways to cut expenses and stay competitive during a recession. Many companies are
looking at their departments productivity in addition to their network infrastructure to accomplish
this task. Large companies have the luxury of internal resources, whereas smaller companies must
resort to outsourcing this process. The ultimate goal is the same, to cut expenses, and stay
competitive. A big decision, a company will need to make, is whether to cut personnel or can

Milestones are a good measuring tool to stay focused on the ultimate goal. Many companies are
outsourcing this requirement to save costs. The training phase should start with the upper
management and focusing on how the new technology will influence the business strategy. The
training package should address concerns identified during the evaluation phase. The concerns and
recommendations should come from the managers, but the users are assets to the process. After all,
the users are the individuals who will ultimately be using the technology. Success or failure will
depend upon the confidence of both the users and customers. The training package should depict
the methods and techniques affecting the use and upkeep of the new technology to ensure success.
Part of the package should address how the staff and workforce will receive training. The training
schedule should reflect the dates and time of the training sessions and who will attend. The key
point is for the trainees to understand that everything else stops and all focus is on the training. The
training tailored and geared to the strengths and weaknesses of the individual attending the training.
The human resources department can assist and conduct the evaluation of each individual. Pre test

Ethics of Penn Square and Dow Corning
Ethics of Penn Square Bank and the Dow Corning Bankruptcy Penn Square Bank: What were the
ethical pressures on the firm concerning documentation, credit extension, and revenue recognition
that lead to the final collapse? What should have been done to reduce or offset these pressures?
Penn Square Bank was a small commercial bank in Oklahoma City which made high risk financial
loans during the late 1970s in the oil boom. The bank ultimately collapsed during the early 1980s
due to their financing practices. The bank was overestimating and valuing its customer s gas and

Dow Corning Corporation was founded in 1943 as a jointly owned enterprise by The Dow
Chemical Company and Corning Incorporated to develop the potential of silicone materials. Dow
Corning s principal businesses were silicone materials and polycrystalline silicon.
In the early 1960 s Dow Corning supplied Texas plastic surgeons Frank Gerow and Thomas Cronin
with silicone for their medical implant device research. Gerow and Cronin, using Dow Corning
silicone, invented the first silicone breast implant as a device to aid women who had undergone
mastectomies. At that time, the Food and Drug Administration had no regulations governing
implantable devices. Companies like Dow Corning had to determine the safety of devices on their
own. The surgeons conducted clinical trials of the implant prior to product introduction in 1964. In
the next several years, the implant grew popular for cosmetic surgery as well as reconstructive, and
Dow Corning cornered both markets. Between 1960s and the mid 1990s, about two million women
nationwide have received breast implants, most of them for cosmetic reasons. However, some
women have started to complain that the implants have ruptured, allowing gel to leak into the

25. Essay about Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
A Fellow s Long Worth
How does one describe a poet when he has already described himself with his own words?
Although Henry Wadsworth Longfellow isn t popular, he is such a poet. As described by Arnold
Bennett, Longfellow is the chief minor poet of the English language. Among a harsh lineup of critics
, however, they claimed he fell short of literary. This is quite the contrary.
Longfellow attended Bowdoin college, near Portland, Maine where he was born and raised. The
college offered him the newly formed position as chair of modern languages. Two things are
striking about this event: the informality of the academic approach to language studies and the
obvious natural gift that Longfellow possessed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of scribbling lofty lyrics and inscrutable stanzas, Longfellow s poetry is simple, flows
with a definite rhyme scheme, and allows anybody to encompass themselves with Longfellow s
visions. Some poems dealing with nature and his visions are Daylight and Moonlight, Hymn to
the Night, Daybreak and The Rainy Day. Each one describes a different time of day, whether it
personifies the wind in Daybreak or gives a life lesson about gloomy days in The Rainy Day.
Unlike his contemporaries, Emerson, Poe, and Whitman, his poetry isn t far fetched or musty,
trying to collapse the mind with theory and philosophy.
Even in his longer works, like Hiawatha, The Skeleton in Armor and Paul Revere s Ride,
Longfellow takes his pen and tells fervent stories that echo inside the reader. He wished to write
not only for the few who think but also for the many who feel, assuming a certain community of
nature, interest, and cultural inheritance between himself and his readers (Wagenknecht 22). Much
like Thomas Paine in The Crisis Papers, Longfellow knew his readers, and although they weren t
educated in the fundamentals of poetry, they were educated enough to read. This powered his
poetry and therefore nature and emotion gorged his writing and propelled it forward, even if some
critics and historians view him as an underdog. It is time to rediscover Longfellow,

Murder is defined as an unlawful killing of a reasonable creature in being under the King s peace
with malice aforethought, express or implied.
For Helen to satisfy the AR of murder (the unlawful killing) she must be the factual and legal
cause of the death. We use the but for test, which shows if the consequence would or wouldn t of
happened but for the Ds actions. As in the case of R v White, but for him poisoning his mothers
drink, she would of died anyway as she died of a heart attack, so he was not guilty of murder. But
for Helen throwing the firework in the room, Ian would not have died so she was the factual cause

The LOC subjective test is defined in R v Richens and can be looked at subjectively taking into
account the D s personal characteristics. Helen suffers from a personality disorder with the
symptoms being short temper and aggression when under stress , and also suffered months of
violence from her partner, so to conclude Helen did lose LOC and attempted to seriously harm Ian.
The fear trigger can be used if the D feared violence from the V. Due to the past of violence Helen
experienced, and the threat Ian made about beating her the next morning, she had a fear of
violence. However, the act makes it clear the D cannot use the fear trigger if there was a
considered desire for revenge . As in the case of R v Baillie, if there is evidence which shows the
provocation (the threat) was enough to make a reasonable man lose self control, with no
cooling down period between, this is not considered a desire for revenge. A threat of a beating
to a reasonable person would not make them lose control and kill so this cannot be used. In the
case of Ahluwalia, the ratio shows where the D fears a future attack, like Helen does, and they
kill the fear trigger cannot be used as a defence. However, as the case of Thornton explains, if
there is evidence of previous violence to the D by V, it is more likely the D suffered LOC from the
things said/done up to and including the final event.

It came, It saw, It conquered The battle lines had been drawn and it had been around for about
two years before its first outbreak was witnessed on April 23, 2010 on the coast of New South
Wales. The march then continued to the next targets Victoria and Queensland. Over the course
of three years, it has become one of the biggest biosecurity threats to Australia s ecosystem. This
alien intruder is commonly known as Myrtle Rust. What is Myrtle Rust and how pernicious is
it? Myrtle Rust, aka Uredo rangelii, is a fungal plant pathogen native to South America that
affects plants in Myrtaceae family, such as Tea tree, Beach Cherry and Bottle Brush (DAFF,
2012). Its advent can be witnessed in the form of small purple flecks and leaf spots on young
leaves. It then utilizes its vicious powers to create tiny, raised spots or pustules, which turn
powdery distinctive yellow after a few days. It attacks young and new plants and causes them to be
stunted, leaves to be twisted and even leads to their death. While the South American trees have
some resistance against this aggressor, the Australian ones are more vulnerable. It has the potential
to affect up to 80 per cent of Australian native trees and the crusade cannot be stopped once it has

After five years of negotiations, the United States and 11 other countries signed the Trans Pacific
partnership. The tpp is a deal that is to promote trade through out nations and will remove tariffs,
promote competition and create more opportunities for businesses. President Barack Obama
argued that tpp will create new jobs by opening up foreign markets for exporting goods and set
minimum standards for working conditions in the 11 other nations, leveling the playing field in the
global market. The tpp is a bad trade deal as it will cost the United statesthousands of jobs and hurt
the economy.
TPP is very similar to Nafta which was a free trade deal signed by the Clinton foundation in
1993. 682,000 jobs were lost since Nafta was signed by bill clinton. This shows Nafta was a
failure as the trade deal was supposed to create jobs not lose them. Now TPP is a very similar
deal as it s based on the same concept. As there really isn t many differences, the TPP would be a

33. Data Mining of Chemical Analysis for White Wine Quality
Background Wine was once viewed as a luxury good, but now it is increasingly enjoyed by a
wider range of consumers. According to the different qualities, the prices of wines are quite
different. So when the wine sellers buy wines from wine makers, it s important for them to
understand the wine quality, which is in some degrees affected by some chemical attributes.
When wine sellers get the wine samples, it makes difference for them to accurately classify or
predict the wine quality and this will differentiate their profits. So our goal is to model the wine
quality based on physicochemical tests and give the reference for wine sellers to select high,

Since our goal is to make model to give reference to the 3 categories, we can re defined the
categories into 3 other than 7 and in this way, we expected to gain more reasonable results and
give wine sellers more accurate models to support their decisions to purchase wines from the
wine makers. 3.1 Clustering and redefine data set Considering that clustering s goal is to put
objects that are similar together in a cluster, this matches our goal to make three quality
categories. So we decided to use clustering first to explore if the categories can be parted. Since
the XLMiner just can run no more than 4000 records for clustering, we need to reduce our data
set size to 4000. First, we eliminated the data outside of 3 stand deviation range; then we found
that the quality 5 has about 1800 records which took nearly a half of all records which spread 7
qualities, so we randomly selected 80% of the quality 5 records and quality 5 s dominant effect
would be reduced. In this way the new data set was determined. After the new data set was
decided, we created a new output variable new quality and the values are 1, 2, and 3, each
representing low quality, mid range quality and high quality. The details are showed as the tables

40. The Terrible Boy Analysis
In the article The Terrible Boy written by Tom Junod Jonathan Miller was one of the world s
most terrible boys. In America s eyes a terrible boy is cruel, hostile and merciless. In this article,
Jonathan was painted by these descriptions. However, this wasn t always the case. He wasn t
terrible when he moved to Georgia he just wanted to get kicked out of school, so he did whatever
it took. Though in highschool he took on the description of a terrible boy. It all started on the bus
when Jonathan threw a open ketchuppacket at his rival Joshua Belluardo. They got off the bus and
instead of a fight it was a crime scene.Jonathan murdered Joshua. Sadly, though Jonathan was a
terrible he should have been shown mercy.
However in the article The Terrible Boy Jonathan was not the only terrible boy; Tom Junod was
also a terrible boy. He took advantage of a boy named Timmy Titimski for the fact that he was
new to the school and had no friends. Tom looked at him as a Baby and wanted to make him cry.
Tom saw the perfect opportunity to make him cry in class when no teachers were around. He
covered timmy with spitballs. This happened because Timmy had no immunity to Tom s Actions.
Sadly what began as a one day thing lasted for over a year.
Another victim to the stand his Brian Head, he went to Etowah High School. Bullying there was so
bad that bullies went from being feared to needed to be isolated. Case in Point Brian Head. Brian
Head was bullied almost everyday until one day he

41. Observation Of Daya
During this past week, I was enjoying some relaxation time from my busy and hectic schedule
and watching some Netflix. I was watching an episode of Orange Is The New Black, form
Season 1. The overall summary of the episode that I was watching was that there was an inmate,
Daya, who was pregnant from one of the prison guards who also happens to be her boyfriend. In
a panic of trying to protect the boyfriend/prison guard from being fired once it is figured out that
Daya is pregnant, multiple inmates work together in coming up with a plan trying to help out Daya.
The helpers include Daya s familymembers, people from the same race, and a couple random
women from a different clique. It was a little odd that all these inmates were working together
trying to help out Daya in such an involved and difficult situation. All of these women who are
usually at each other s throats are now working together trying to come up with solutions. In
addition to this, the solution that the group decided on, was given by one the women from the
outside clique, which was odd. However, we later learn that the reason why she... Show more

The ones that helped Daya out the most were her family members, which were her mother and
sister. This shows that the Genetic Relatives Study is very much true, showing that even in a
high risk situation, Daya s mother and sister were still willing to help. However, one of the main
reasons why Daya s mother was helping out was because she wanted to make sure her
grandchild was going to be okay, a demonstration of Kin Selection . The women that were from
the same race, shows that we tend to help people that look like us. Then the other random women,
who were also helping out Daya, were clearly doing so for their own benefit and personal gain.
They were not demonstrating any sort of altruism, however more of an egoistic style of

42. The Business Strategy Of Caterpillar Inc.
An organisation s strategy plays an important role of providing direction of where company wants
to be and how best to allocate the company s resources to meet its objectives. The formulation of
business strategies has evolved over the years and has been made more difficult in recent by the
uncertain operating environments and global financial crises. The key to sustainable business is
ensuring that the company s strategy proportions are aligned (Kim, W.C Mauborgne, R, 2009).
Caterpillar Inc. has been in existence since 1925 and the company has faced its fair share of
turmoil. The current global challenges coupled with a stronger dollar make it difficult for any
organisation to operate but Caterpillar continues to outperform the competition. The key to the
company s success is its strategy execution supported by an unmatched distribution network. In this
analysis, I tried to outline the organisation s strategy, its weakness and strengths and made
recommendations to improve competitive performance. 2Background to Caterpillar Inc. Caterpillar

43. Horatio s Honesty In Hamlet
In the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare, the lack of honesty was utilized frequently through the
character s actions by undermining and lying to each other, demonstrating that honesty is the best
route. Throughout the play Horatio is the only one who was honest and kept by Hamlet s side,
while everyone else lied and spied.
Claudius is responsible for a lot of the deception and lying throughout the play. From the
beginning Claudius is not honest with anyone. Without the which we are pictures, or mere beasts.
Divided from herself and for her judgement (4.5.11). What Claudius is really saying is he feels
bad for Ophelia because she has lost her mind and he thinks it s because her father was killed by
Hamlet. Ophelia was really going mad because she has been doing everything Polonius and Laertes

He has stuck by Hamlet the whole time and has never deceived him. Since Horatio has seen the
Ghost of king Hamlet, he feels the need to tell Hamlet As I do live, my honour d lord; tis
true(1.2.10) Horatio is saying that he is loyal to Hamlet and is telling the truth about seeing the
ghost. Horatio is loyal to Hamlet and his honesty is what lets Hamlet trust him. When Hamlet
has received a message from the Ghost, that would be very beneficial if everyone else knew
about it, Horatio kept it a secret My lord, we will not (1.5.23). Horatio is saying that hamlet can
trust him to keep it a secret and not tell anyone. Horatio is loyal to Hamlet because if he would
have told anyone about his plan, it would turn out very bad for Hamlet. Even after hamlet dies,
Horatio keeps his promise to never let Hamlet be forgotten about of that I shall also cause to
speak (5.2.4059). Horatio is saying that he is there to tell Hamlet s story, so that he will never be
forgotten and all the events that occurred can be cleared up. Horatio was honest to his word to
Hamlet when Hamlet asked for his story to be
