Flexibility and Adaptability of Youth Movements
Mohamed chased after his 15 years old brother who secretly escaped to Syria to fight and be hailed
a hero, just as his brother was after fighting in the Libyan revolution. Disbelieving, disappointed and
devalued, Mohamed says it s our fault, we started a revolution and didn t finish it (Olivesi, 2014).
His words sum up the contextual reality of many of the countries affected by the Arab Spring, not
only in terms of the power youth asserted to demand change, but also their diminishing reflection
that mirrors their helplessness throughout transcending societal spheres, as they once again become
triumphed by institutional backwardness, prolonged elitism, corruption and socio economic
demands that are yet to be acknowledged. Even though Samuel Huntington (as cited in Kuhn, 2012)
warned policy markers that too speedy modernization could result in rising expectations, popular
anger and violent revolutions, the Arab Spring was long overdue and even though Egypt, Tunisia
and Libyaare not identical cases, their Arabness (Hayes, 2011) united them and garnered the
mobilization effort to challenge the status quo.
Foucault suggests addressing resistance as a chemical catalyst so as to bring light to power
relations, locate their positions and find out their point of application and methods used (780). The
Arab Spring marked a historic event that propelled youth agency and power into the spotlight
through media and the internet as their demands, aspirations and grievances were heard

How To Get Raped In The Military
Calvert s is an award winning photojournalist who created a project known as The Battle Within...
Military where she photographed many victims who were raped in the military. This journal
helps many victims say their story and find peace within themselves. Each photo has its own
caption, which has a details the description of what happened to them. They describe how the
raped lead them down many more traumatic events in their daily lives. This is a good source for
my final paper because it gives personal descriptions of victims who have been raped in the
military. I will be able to provide a picture and give a victims story so the audience can understand
how much the rapeaffected them.
Evans article mentions a different view point about war. He mentions how we are worried about
our fellow soldiers in the military and how badly they will get wounded by the enemies, but we
never think about all those victims who get raped by their colleagues. This article mentions
different facts about rape in the military, and one of the facts are that men also tend to get raped.
This is a great source for my research because it also mentions reasons why people don t admit to
getting raped.

mentions one of the most important conflicts is that those who investigate these alleged assaults
are high commanders in the military, which may have bias impacts. Civilians should be doing the
investigation so that they don t have power over the soldiers and they can remain unbiased
because they personally don t know the victim nor assailant. This source is good for my final

working that effectively so we need to come up with a different

How Technology Improves Our Lives
Over the decade technology has advanced significantly and the improvement of modern day
creations had contributed to depolluting the world. With technology there s no need to waste paper
into printing out maps, modern day phones have GPS navigation, that allows us to get from one
place to another with hardly any hassles. Also, these devices keep us connected to friends and
family throughout the whole universe without having to waste any more trees that produce

pollution.Whereas modern day manufacturing invest into hydrogen powered vehicles, to lessen the
consumption of gasoline, and also improve the air quality that everyday people inhale. But most
would disagree with these advantages and question our intellectual. Is technology improving our
lives and our decreasing our lifespan? Some would say, we should lessen its use because it
contributes to laziness, hurts our environment because of its heavy machine. It also consumes a lot
of energy, and it shortens our lives. In other words, Technology is a fantastic utility that helps our

What is Impression Formation
Introduction Impression formation is an idea formed without consciousness based on little
evidence to evaluate a judgement. The process of forming impression is determined through
verbal communication, non verbal communication and paralinguistic cues. Verbal
communication is the content of what a person says. Non verbal communication is the way we
present ourselves without using spoken language while paralanguage is the way we talk other
than spoken words. This research conducted was experimental. This is because there are two
variables identified in this research which are independent variable (IV) and dependent variable
(DV). The IV was the duration of time while the DV was the result of the First Impression Scale
(FIS).The research question is Are the results of the First Impression Scale affected by the time a
person is exposed to the presenter? .Thus, the objective of this research is to find out whether the
time a person is exposed to the video will affect the person s impression on the presenter. This
information could be important to determine how long an advertisement or a show should last to
create a good impression among the audience. The research hypothesis is the longer a person is
exposed to the video, the better the impression formed. The sample sizeof this research is small
which is 38 psychology students in SAM program of Taylor s College Subang Jaya. Participants
were assigned randomly into two groups, Group 1 and Group 2, to watch a short video for

Proper Interpretation Of The Bible And Culture Perspective
The writer, Roger Nicole addresses the issues of proper interpretation of the scriptures in
hermeneutic and culture perspective. He implies, that one must avoid reading meaning into the text
that are not inherent in the text. He go on future to say, We must allow the text to speak for itself
without imposing on it a predetermined interpretation. Study shows axiom (rule of interpretation) of
biblical hermeneuticsis that the interpreter must take into count the literary genre of the passage
being interpreted along with the question of text grammars, philology, background and history
(Nicole.p.356 57).The writer discusses the different between prescriptive or descriptive texts. It is
important in the hermeneutics process to distinguish what in Scripture is prescriptive, embodying
Gods commandment to us, and what is descriptive, relating events or attitudes that may or may
not be desirable (Nicole.p.357). Even though we Know that God is the primary author of
Scripture. it is imperative that certain practices in both New and Old Testament are merely
describe, or serve as a culture background of the activity even of some who were God s children,
without implying that we shall conform to these practices (Nicole. P.357)
Here Nicole warns against lifting verses or passages out their context. Each passage must be
understood in light of the passages written before and after it, in light of the book in which it is
found, and in light of larger Canonical Interpretations. The

his weapon. Poseidon wasn t too thrilled that Zeuswas power hungry because Poseidon believed that

Barbara Gaston was an old family/friend, who I didn t have much history on. She grew up in
Cincinnati, OH. She married at age 23 and defined herself primarily as a wife and mother for the
next 20 years. She was a young mother and wife, which was not untypical during this time. She
was the first born of four children, and later lived in a blended household. Her father worked in
copper mines, logging, and road construction. While her mother on the other hand was a stay at

earned, as credit was not yet established as a way to obtain personal object and things. She
explained that if a woman were to work outside of the home at this time in history, they would
have held traditional gender roles such as a school teacher, nurse or secretary. She came from a
traditional religious background, as religious beliefs held their own expectations of being a woman,
and how a woman ought to be, including sexuality. Her grandmother was also a stay at home

Examples Of William Wallace s Speech In Braveheart

Scotland since there was no heir to the late king. The speech I am writing about is William Wallaces
They will never take our freedom speech from the movie Braveheartwhich I believe is a very
motivating and successful speech and here are certain examples why I believe William Wallace
s speech is very successful. This speech effectively motivates the Scottish soldiers to fight instead

about surviving against the English army and would rather flee to live another day then to die on
the battlefield. Throughout the speech William is riding on a horse in front of his men pacing
back and forth on his horse as his men are lined up listening to him. He talks in a high tone and
raises it higher towards the end of his speech to emphasize the seriousness of this revolutionary

Theme Of Religion In The Dreams Of Trespass
In the novel, Dreams of Trespass, religion plays a major role in how culture, society, and politics
work together to affect how Morocco and different characters are displayed. As all of these
characteristics are played out throughout the story it conveys the different feelings of the character
towards each subject matter.
The religion influences culture by women s apparel, women s restrictions in daily life, and the
different beauty products a woman may wear. In Islamic culture women are naturally supposed to
be completely covered when out in public. For example, in Dreams of Trespass women would
dress with the veil and a haik, or djellaba, depending on what age and status they were. Fatima s
mother thought material was difficult to breath in and heavy, so she vowed to replace it with a
tiny triangular black veil made of sheer silk chiffon (118). Because Fatima s mother wanted a new
form of clothing, it went against the traditional views and values. From this conflict arose the
difference between tradition and new customs in daily life. By discovering this new custom, it
allowed for a little more freedom in Fatima s mother s life. Another key element in how Islam
defines culture is the restrictions of women. Some rules that were stated was that they could not
go into certain spaces and rooms at specific times, and they could not go outside the walls unless
they were accompanied by a male or it was a special occasion. Chama was faced with these
challenges when the conflict

Pros And Cons Of Netflix
Monopolies
Embry Riddle Aeronautical University
James Coward Abstract Most Americans tend to put very little thought into the companies that
supply them with their goods and services, however, even less tend to think about how those
companies have a monopoly on the market and what affect that has on small businesses and local
producers and consumers. Aside from the game of Monopoly, few people have had any real desire
to control a market or hold a majority of the shares in a particular sector; these following
companies have a monopoly on their respective markets and it is typically taken for grated by the
general population. Luxottica is the biggest manufacturer of glasses in the world. Netflix is

A lot of people rely on them without even realizing it. Some of the cons of monopolies include
price fixing that is associated with a monopoly being able to set whichever price they choose for
a product or service simply because the law allows them to do so and there is no viable substitute
that can compete with the monopoly company s product. As has been stated multiple times,
monopolies control the market and are able to provide inferior goods if they so choose at the
standard rate. Monopolies are able to reduce operating costs while keeping prices fixed or elevated.
Competition typically breeds innovation. Companies are searching for the newest and greatest
product that will continue to keep them on top of the market. When a monopoly has a grip on a
market, the need to be innovative and appealing to their customers can quite often disappear. Until
the next generation of technology comes around that allows customers to have an acceptable
substitute for the monopoly s product, customers can be stuck with inferior technology for much
longer than is

In 2000, Gome Electrical Appliances was one of the biggest home appliances retail chain in China

Shanghai, Chengdu and Chongqing. It was the market leader in color television market and color
television accounted for 60 70% of Gome s turnover in 1999 and 70 80% of those were supplied by
domestic brands. The key marketing problems faced by Gome in 2000 are enumerated below:

The response of the consumer was very positive and Gome s belief in low price strategy was
reinstated. This breach of the rules set by the alliance led to another meeting of the nine
members of the alliance to decide on measures to compete with Gome. If the alliance step up its
actions against Gome, Gome should try and reach an agreement with Changhong whose
inventory was to the tune of 1.68 million television sets as of May 2000. It would be a win win
situation for both Changhong as well as Gome. As it is quite evident from the price cuts in Prima
color TVs that customers still welcome low prices, this could give great competitive advantage to
Gome. At the same time it should expand its network to the rural areas and upcoming urban areas
and start capturing more market share. At the same time, Gome should also use its goodwill with
foreign brands and use this opportunity to lure foreign investors into the market. This opening into
the growing China market for foreign brands would enable Gome to better negotiate with them and
achieve lowest prices for its products. This in turn would enable Gome to offer more variety to its
customers. In the meantime, Gome should raise public awareness against this alliance and create a
backlash in the market. All these steps would definitely weaken the alliance and force them to
retract. In the meantime, Gome should also start

Charles Dickens Stylistic Devices Essay

Date
Charles Dickens and the making of the modern age Charles Dickens has used various stylistic
devices in his literary works that he did between the year 1812 1870. He employed different
styles just like any other author to make his point out using changing styles in literature. Most of
the imagery and characters in his writings cannot be taken to be literal since they had some hidden
meaning in them. He employed the dramatic technique in his novels, which took a form of more
of cinema than pure theater like most of the literature works. There are a lot of dramatic picture
scenes which ring into our minds when we study his novels like the Fagin s den in the novel of
Oliver Twist. These dramatic pictures convey meanings in themselves in this literature. There is
also a gradual change in the style that Dickens employ in his works like changes in pronominal
reference, elaboration, and nominalisation. This paper analyses the different styles used by Dickens
in his novels those before the 1850 and those after 1850.

The Justifications Of Prison And Punishment
The area this dissertation will be focusing on is the justifications of prison and punishment, and
looking at whether these objectives are being achieved today in the current prisonsystem, with a
thorough analysis of short sentences.
In order to analyse this, short sentences will be looked at to discover whether the prison system is
working.
Throughout history, punishment has always had to be justified. For example, pre 19th century,
punishment, which included being sent to the gallows or being placed in the stocks, had the
justification of being a deterrent, as punishment was a very public event (BBC, 2012). This type of
punishment was then met with Petitions against executions and torture increased in the eighteenth
century (Poster, 1984), and as a result of these petitions, theorists such as Beccaria (1764) spoke of
creating a punishment that removed the element of torture. Foucault (1975) spoke of the moving of
punishment from the body to the mind, in order to present the prospect that their acts would that
their acts would cause more pain than pleasure so that, as rational beings, they would avoid
committing illegalities in the first place (Poster, 1984).
Prison has therefore been justified since the Gladstone Report (Departmental Committee on
Prisons,1895), which set the tone for penal policy, stating that prison would have a deterrent
function; there would also be a rehabilitative ideal about prison. The objectives of prison, as
described by Jewkes et al

Religion In Emily Dickinson
Emily Dickinson was one of the most ambiguous authors of her time. Her poetry remains a
mystery to so many readers and her lack of biographical information makes her writing even more
intriguing. Dickinson spent most of her life away from society, therefore, very few people knew
how she viewed the aspects of life, let alone knew what her writing meant. Her interpretations of
concepts such as religion, nature, and death are often seen as contradicting and pinning one specific
thesis on her views is difficult because she viewed many things with complexity. Among her poems,
readers see a diversity in her perspectives. For example, she might write one poem about the
beauties of nature and continue to write another poem about the dangers or... Show more content on

Similar ambivalent themes are seen in Dickinson s views of death. Death is primarily seen in a
negative light and she supports that perspective in I heard a Fly buzz when I died When
Dickinson starts this poem, the reader senses a feeling of control from the narrator. The narrator
is ready for death and accepting it; she writes I willed my keepsakes Signed away/ What portion
of me be/ Assignable and the audience sees her willingness to go. However, There interposed a
Fly and this fly s interruption created a change in tone. The narrator felt the windows fail and
this could be seen as a metaphor for losing her spot in heaven. This poem makes death seem
almost scary and one could assume that Dickinson views death this way. Contrarily, in I like a
look of Agony she portrays death as a serene, authentic concept. The narrator says there is no
faking death and that s what they most appreciate of death. Dickinson creates a relaxing tone
associated with death and upon reading this certain poem, a reader may assume she views death as
calm and genuine.
Emily Dickinson also wrote plenty about nature, seeing as she was constantly around it rather than
actual humans. Her views of nature vary from optimistic and intoxicating to frightening and
threatening. In her poem There s a certain Slant of light , she carries a holy and amazed mood
throughout it. Using words like Heavenly and Cathedral support the holiness in the text. The
narrator is amazed at the

Gender Inequalities Of Workforce And Gender Inequality
Arianna Khoubeserian Mr. Parker Sociology 101 February 1 2017 Gender Inequalities in
WorkforceOver the years it has become evident that women face far more significant barriers in
the workforce than men do. A clear representation of this barrier is established by the gender pay
gap, which is the difference in monetary amount received between a woman s and a man s
average weekly earnings. The economy, as a social institution, is affected by gender and sex
inequality. The idea of inequality in the workplace is central to explaining wage disparities and is a
crucial factor that intervenes between a person s human capital. Despite a woman s depth of

Conflict theory declares that social problems occur when dominant groups, which are the men in
the workforce, mistreat subordinate ones such as the women, and thus advocates for a power
imbalance between genders . Marx viewed the society in two parts, the bourgeoisie and the
proletariat. In this social phenomenon, the men represent the people who control all the power
and the women represent the people who are being controlled. Men and women are constantly in
the battle to obtain the most factors of production, yet men seem to have an unfair advantage due
to their gender. For example during job interviews, some questions may revolve around what
gender the applicant is. Women are more likely asked about their duties outside of home or if they
are expecting to have children. Singeling women out by suggesting they would need times to miss
work especially due to maternity leave, portrays women as not being the best fit for the job. They
begin to feel vulnerable and not capable of handling the job. Some conflict theorists believe that the
reason these roles continue is because the dominant group naturally works to maintain their power
and status though the less powerful group and this becomes habitualized in society. Also conflict
and inequality are developed by the unequal distribution of social capital. This imbalance of
resources creates conflict within men and women because women will strive to achieve more as
men try to bring them

Traditional vs. Nontraditional Litigation The process of bringing, maintaining, and defending a
lawsuit is called litigation. The word litigation usually strikes fear into the hearts of the business
community. Litigation relates to a claim for damages decided by legal proceedings. Most litigation
cases involve defending the company when accused of wrongdoing. The litigation process includes

Litigation Risks for business Some of the risks that business encounter when dealing with
traditional litigation is the expenses associated with adhering to the strict timing and procedures
that the court deems necessary. One more drawback is not knowing what judge will hear the case
and how his personal views can have an effect on the outcome. Traditional litigation can have a
negative effect on the business image, which could hurt the business revenues short and long term.
Court cost, consultants, and attorney fees could have an impact on business revenue. Traditional
litigation areas such as employment lawsuits and contract disputes provide serious potential
liability for businesses of all sizes. Employees can sue their employer from a number of work
related issues such as unpaid wages, harassment, and discrimination. A claim that an employee
was fired improperly can expose a business to citations and financial liability as well as a bad
reputation and the ongoing distraction of a legal case (Foster, 2011).
Business managers help to reduce risks There are many ways that managers can reduce exposure
to these types of risks. First, understanding that discrimination against age, sex, and race are
important factors when dealing with employees. Business should have written policies and
procedures, which are given out to each employee of the company when hired, and reviewed with
the employees on a regular basis. This process will

There has been many court cases where a mentally ill individual commits a killing without the
notion of harming their victim because, they lacked the perception to think logically when they re
found under overwhelming emotion. The poem Porphyria s Lover, by Robert Browning describes
the crime scene where the narrator felt compelled to kill his mistress named Porphyria in spite of
her demonstration of affection and care. Yet, there is enough evidence to illustrate that the suspect
was actually under temporary insanity since he revealed signs of emotional distress concerning his
place with Porphyria. The narrator in Porphyria s lover is not guilty by the plea of temporary
insanity; he displays four characteristics found ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

College Drinking Essay
College Drinking
I would agree with the research. Before coming to college I never drank. I had friends who drank
alcohol and have been around it a lot. I always said I don t think I would ever drink alcohol. I didn
t have anything against it, I just felt as though it wasn t for me.
Starting college was a great experience for me. I ve meet many people who I have built
relationships with, and I ve noticed how different people can be from you. A lot of the people
who I hung with in college drank alcohol when we went to parties. I would go to the parties, but I

everyone enjoying themselves influenced me to try it. I would say the party environment ... Show

The labeling theory is a theory that describes how the self identity and behavior of individuals
may be determined or influenced by the terms people use to describe or classify them (Mead,
2008). I feel as though labeling can be categorized with stereotyping. I don t see how they are
different from each other because you are putting a label on someone because of their actions.
There is some positivity with assigning someone a diagnosis of of a psychological disorder. For
instance living life not knowing about a disorder may be causing harm to your body. Going through
life without be aware is also cutting out the opportunity to get help for the problem occurring. So
knowing about it can help in the long run.
Some negative aspects when labeling someone with psychological disorders would be that a
person may not be viewed for who they are but, what their diagnosis is. Individuals may be
looked at negatively and their positive attributes are most likely to be looked passed. Another
negative aspect would be that medications may come with serious side effects that can do harm to
a person s health. All medications are known to have side effects. Stimulants that are commonly
used by individuals with ADHD may cause insomnia, suppressed appetite and growth, and other
side effects that can affect child and adolescent development. An individual who is diagnosed with
a psychological problem may be treated differently because of their label. It may be worse for
children because they have yet to develop their

A Modest Proposal Rhetorical Devices
The Rape of the Lock , written by Alexander Pope, and A Modest Proposal , written by Jonathan
Swift, are both pieces that are well known for being satires. A satire is a piece of literature that uses
irony and comical devices to get a point across to its audience. The Rape of the Lock and A Modest
Proposalmay both be satires, but they both have very different methods of delivery and
execution. I believe that A Modest Proposal is more effective in its mode of attack. It is more
vicious and scornful as opposed to The Rape of the Lock . This vicious nature helps get the point
across more easily, by stirring up the people. Also, Juvenalian Satireusually attacks a more serious
matter, as this is the case when comparing A Modest Proposal... Show more content on

This form of satire is more mild in nature, and is often used to arouse amusement in people. In
this piece, Pope uses a story about a woman who gets a lock of her hair chopped off to ridicule
social pretension and vanity. Although this form of satire is not as harsh as Juvenalian satire, it
is much easier to interpret, and not to be taken so seriously. This however, can make the point
seem less serious, as it will be addressed in a comical way. However, this poem is effective in its
own way at getting its point across. One of the important elements that speaks in the poem is the
speech made by the character Clarissa. In her speech, she questions why a society that places
emphasis on beauty in women cannot emphasise good humor. This speech is often interpreted at
the main moral of the story, that people often react too much to silly things, like losing a lock of
hair. For this type of topic, this form of satire works very well, as harsh ridicule is not needed to

Essay about Controlling Corporate Farming
Controlling Corporate Farming
Sixty one percent of America s agriculture output comes from corporate farms (Abbey, 2002).
Nationwide there are 163,000 corporate operations and 63% of these are under contract to a
consolidated firm (Abbey, 2002). Stated by Fred Kirschenmann, If current trends of consolidation
continue, and all the farms in Iowa become 225,000 acre farms, there will be only 140 farms in the
entire state (Abbey, 2002).
Large corporations are coming in and taking over the farming industry. They are making it
almost impossible for small, family operated farms to survive. The six and a half million small
farms of 1935 decreased to 575,000 by 1998? (Abbey, 2002). The large... Show more content on

There are many anti corporate faming laws in place that have been around since about the 1930?s
that were originated in Kansas and North Dakota (McDonough, 2003). These laws are intended to
slow down large corporations coming into small communities and pushing out the small, family
operated farms. North Dakota was the first state, with nine other states right behind it. These states
include North Dakota, Kansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Wisconsin
and Nebraska.
In 1932, North Dakota originated its first anti corporation law. It prohibited any corporation from
farming there. This law seemed to be extreme so it was amended in 1981 stating that there would
only be fifteen or fewer corporate shareholders (www.celdf.org). These laws have inhibited
corporate farming from taking over North Dakota, making it a better place for local agriculture. If
these laws aren?t followed, there are penalties in place to punish the violators with fines up to
$25,000.
Kansas passed their anti corporation laws in 1995, which ?prohibited corporations of any kind
from owning or acquiring any agricultural land? (www.celdf.org). There are stockholders that are
given rights to the land and they have to be directly involved with the production of the farm, and
this is how they prevent the corporations from taking

People argue television has increased awareness of politics to create more fair and accessible
elections. However, I think TV has had a negative impact on politics because it promotes a
superficial image of candidates and provides dumbed down content mainly to boost a TV station s
ratings.
Television promotes candidates image over their policies. Instead of the candidates discussing
what they are going to do for the country, they simply argue why they are better than each other.
The candidates being televised gives the audience a sense of knowing them, which causes them to

Evaluation Of A Management Development Program
Management Development Program
As stated in the Hall Lecture Five, development is the effort to improve an employees abilities to
handle a variety of assignments to cultivate employees capabilities beyond those required by the
current job (2016). In order for a management development program to be effective, a performance
management and performance appraisal system should be developed or created. A performance
management system should be consistent with the strategic mission of the organization, beneficial
as a development tool, useful as an administrative tool, legal job related, viewed as generally fair by
employees, and effective in documenting employee performance (Belhaven University, 2016).
Firstly, understanding the difference between performance management and performance appraisal
is key when developing and comparing a management development program. Performance
management is a series of activities designed to ensure the organization gets the performance it
needs from its employees (Belhaven University, 2016). Performance appraisal is a process of
determining how well employees do their jobs relative to a standard communicating that
information to them (Belhaven University, 2016). The appraisal performance system should
include category scaling methods, graphic rating scales, comparative methods, narrative methods,
and management by objectives or MBO (Belhaven University, 2016).

It should be noted that public companies have more stringent disclosure and reporting requirements

Under the Act, the managing director is appointed by the board of directors and the composition of

What is heavy metal music? In 1985, the parents of John McCollum filed a civil suit against

their son s suicide in 1984. John had been listening to Osborne s music when he put a gun to his

Drastic changes occur in the flora due to weather and subsequently lead to the disappearance of
many animal species and with these changes, the people adapted. For thousands of years the
plains would evolve, change and create a, history of movement and adjustment, crisis and

peoples lives were changed at the blink of an eye while new ideas, practices and beliefs were

manipulated their resources. This new change could be viewed as positive as well as negative,
for while some tribes entered into trade relations with the Anglos, others were used as slave

  • 2. Flexibility and Adaptability of Youth Movements Mohamed chased after his 15 years old brother who secretly escaped to Syria to fight and be hailed a hero, just as his brother was after fighting in the Libyan revolution. Disbelieving, disappointed and devalued, Mohamed says it s our fault, we started a revolution and didn t finish it (Olivesi, 2014). His words sum up the contextual reality of many of the countries affected by the Arab Spring, not only in terms of the power youth asserted to demand change, but also their diminishing reflection that mirrors their helplessness throughout transcending societal spheres, as they once again become triumphed by institutional backwardness, prolonged elitism, corruption and socio economic demands that are yet to be acknowledged. Even though Samuel Huntington (as cited in Kuhn, 2012) warned policy markers that too speedy modernization could result in rising expectations, popular anger and violent revolutions, the Arab Spring was long overdue and even though Egypt, Tunisia and Libyaare not identical cases, their Arabness (Hayes, 2011) united them and garnered the mobilization effort to challenge the status quo. Foucault suggests addressing resistance as a chemical catalyst so as to bring light to power relations, locate their positions and find out their point of application and methods used (780). The Arab Spring marked a historic event that propelled youth agency and power into the spotlight through media and the internet as their demands, aspirations and grievances were heard ... Military where she photographed many victims who were raped in the military. This journal helps many victims say their story and find peace within themselves. Each photo has its own caption, which has a details the description of what happened to them. They describe how the raped lead them down many more traumatic events in their daily lives. This is a good source for my final paper because it gives personal descriptions of victims who have been raped in the military. I will be able to provide a picture and give a victims story so the audience can understand how much the rapeaffected them. Evans article mentions a different view point about war. He mentions how we are worried about our fellow soldiers in the military and how badly they will get wounded by the enemies, but we never think about all those victims who get raped by their colleagues. This article mentions different facts about rape in the military, and one of the facts are that men also tend to get raped. This is a great source for my research because it also mentions reasons why people don t admit to getting raped. Lucero s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He mentions one of the most important conflicts is that those who investigate these alleged assaults are high commanders in the military, which may have bias impacts. Civilians should be doing the investigation so that they don t have power over the soldiers and they can remain unbiased because they personally don t know the victim nor assailant. This source is good for my final paper because it shows how we as a nation are handling these sexual assault cases and they aren t working that effectively so we need to come up with a different ... • 6. What is Impression Formation Introduction Impression formation is an idea formed without consciousness based on little evidence to evaluate a judgement. The process of forming impression is determined through verbal communication, non verbal communication and paralinguistic cues. Verbal communication is the content of what a person says. Non verbal communication is the way we present ourselves without using spoken language while paralanguage is the way we talk other than spoken words. This research conducted was experimental. This is because there are two variables identified in this research which are independent variable (IV) and dependent variable (DV). The IV was the duration of time while the DV was the result of the First Impression Scale (FIS).The research question is Are the results of the First Impression Scale affected by the time a person is exposed to the presenter? .Thus, the objective of this research is to find out whether the time a person is exposed to the video will affect the person s impression on the presenter. This information could be important to determine how long an advertisement or a show should last to create a good impression among the audience. • 7. Proper Interpretation Of The Bible And Culture Perspective The writer, Roger Nicole addresses the issues of proper interpretation of the scriptures in hermeneutic and culture perspective. He implies, that one must avoid reading meaning into the text that are not inherent in the text. He go on future to say, We must allow the text to speak for itself without imposing on it a predetermined interpretation. Study shows axiom (rule of interpretation) of biblical hermeneuticsis that the interpreter must take into count the literary genre of the passage being interpreted along with the question of text grammars, philology, background and history (Nicole.p.356 57).The writer discusses the different between prescriptive or descriptive texts. It is important in the hermeneutics process to distinguish what in Scripture is prescriptive, embodying Gods commandment to us, and what is descriptive, relating events or attitudes that may or may not be desirable (Nicole.p.357). Even though we Know that God is the primary author of Scripture. it is imperative that certain practices in both New and Old Testament are merely describe, or serve as a culture background of the activity even of some who were God s children, without implying that we shall conform to these practices (Nicole. P.357) Here Nicole warns against lifting verses or passages out their context. She grew up in Cincinnati, OH. She married at age 23 and defined herself primarily as a wife and mother for the next 20 years. She was a young mother and wife, which was not untypical during this time. She was the first born of four children, and later lived in a blended household. Her father worked in copper mines, logging, and road construction. While her mother on the other hand was a stay at home mom who took care of the children and did housekeeping. They lived on what her father earned, as credit was not yet established as a way to obtain personal object and things. She explained that if a woman were to work outside of the home at this time in history, they would have held traditional gender roles such as a school teacher, nurse or secretary. She came from a traditional religious background, as religious beliefs held their own expectations of being a woman, and how a woman ought to be, including sexuality. Examples Of William Wallace s Speech In Braveheart In the film Braveheart directed by Mel Gibson William Wallace is the main protagonist of this movie who is also played by Mel Gibson himself. William Wallace is a Scottish citizen who becomes a revolutionary because the King of England Edward the Longshanks seized the throne of Scotland since there was no heir to the late king. The speech I am writing about is William Wallaces They will never take our freedom speech from the movie Braveheartwhich I believe is a very motivating and successful speech and here are certain examples why I believe William Wallace s speech is very successful. This speech effectively motivates the Scottish soldiers to fight instead of flee. William Wallace is trying to motivate the soldiers to fight since most of them have doubts about surviving against the English army and would rather flee to live another day then to die on the battlefield. Throughout the speech William is riding on a horse in front of his men pacing back and forth on his horse as his men are lined up listening to him. • 11. Theme Of Religion In The Dreams Of Trespass In the novel, Dreams of Trespass, religion plays a major role in how culture, society, and politics work together to affect how Morocco and different characters are displayed. As all of these characteristics are played out throughout the story it conveys the different feelings of the character towards each subject matter. The religion influences culture by women s apparel, women s restrictions in daily life, and the different beauty products a woman may wear. In Islamic culture women are naturally supposed to be completely covered when out in public. For example, in Dreams of Trespass women would dress with the veil and a haik, or djellaba, depending on what age and status they were. Fatima s mother thought material was difficult to breath in and heavy, so she vowed to replace it with a tiny triangular black veil made of sheer silk chiffon (118). Because Fatima s mother wanted a new form of clothing, it went against the traditional views and values. From this conflict arose the difference between tradition and new customs in daily life. By discovering this new custom, it allowed for a little more freedom in Fatima s mother s life. Another key element in how Islam defines culture is the restrictions of women. Some rules that were stated was that they could not go into certain spaces and rooms at specific times, and they could not go outside the walls unless they were accompanied by a male or it was a special occasion. Chama was faced with these challenges when the conflict ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It would be a win win situation for both Changhong as well as Gome. As it is quite evident from the price cuts in Prima color TVs that customers still welcome low prices, this could give great competitive advantage to Gome. At the same time it should expand its network to the rural areas and upcoming urban areas and start capturing more market share. At the same time, Gome should also use its goodwill with foreign brands and use this opportunity to lure foreign investors into the market. This opening into the growing China market for foreign brands would enable Gome to better negotiate with them and achieve lowest prices for its products. Most of the imagery and characters in his writings cannot be taken to be literal since they had some hidden meaning in them. He employed the dramatic technique in his novels, which took a form of more of cinema than pure theater like most of the literature works. There are a lot of dramatic picture scenes which ring into our minds when we study his novels like the Fagin s den in the novel of Oliver Twist. • 19. The Justifications Of Prison And Punishment The area this dissertation will be focusing on is the justifications of prison and punishment, and looking at whether these objectives are being achieved today in the current prisonsystem, with a thorough analysis of short sentences. In order to analyse this, short sentences will be looked at to discover whether the prison system is working. Throughout history, punishment has always had to be justified. For example, pre 19th century, punishment, which included being sent to the gallows or being placed in the stocks, had the justification of being a deterrent, as punishment was a very public event (BBC, 2012). This type of punishment was then met with Petitions against executions and torture increased in the eighteenth century (Poster, 1984), and as a result of these petitions, theorists such as Beccaria (1764) spoke of creating a punishment that removed the element of torture. Foucault (1975) spoke of the moving of punishment from the body to the mind, in order to present the prospect that their acts would that their acts would cause more pain than pleasure so that, as rational beings, they would avoid committing illegalities in the first place (Poster, 1984). Prison has therefore been justified since the Gladstone Report (Departmental Committee on Prisons,1895), which set the tone for penal policy, stating that prison would have a deterrent function; there would also be a rehabilitative ideal about prison. Her poetry remains a mystery to so many readers and her lack of biographical information makes her writing even more intriguing. Dickinson spent most of her life away from society, therefore, very few people knew how she viewed the aspects of life, let alone knew what her writing meant. Her interpretations of concepts such as religion, nature, and death are often seen as contradicting and pinning one specific thesis on her views is difficult because she viewed many things with complexity. Among her poems, readers see a diversity in her perspectives. For example, she might write one poem about the beauties of nature and continue to write another poem about the dangers or... However, There interposed a Fly and this fly s interruption created a change in tone. The narrator felt the windows fail and this could be seen as a metaphor for losing her spot in heaven. This poem makes death seem almost scary and one could assume that Dickinson views death this way. Contrarily, in I like a look of Agony she portrays death as a serene, authentic concept. The narrator says there is no faking death and that s what they most appreciate of death. Dickinson creates a relaxing tone associated with death and upon reading this certain poem, a reader may assume she views death as calm and genuine. Emily Dickinson also wrote plenty about nature, seeing as she was constantly around it rather than actual humans. Conflict theory declares that social problems occur when dominant groups, which are the men in the workforce, mistreat subordinate ones such as the women, and thus advocates for a power imbalance between genders . Marx viewed the society in two parts, the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. In this social phenomenon, the men represent the people who control all the power and the women represent the people who are being controlled. Men and women are constantly in the battle to obtain the most factors of production, yet men seem to have an unfair advantage due to their gender. For example during job interviews, some questions may revolve around what gender the applicant is. Women are more likely asked about their duties outside of home or if they are expecting to have children. Singeling women out by suggesting they would need times to miss work especially due to maternity leave, portrays women as not being the best fit for the job. They begin to feel vulnerable and not capable of handling the job. Some conflict theorists believe that the reason these roles continue is because the dominant group naturally works to maintain their power and status though the less powerful group and this becomes habitualized in society.
